Any activity with my browser, Chrome, causes playback on iTunes to stutter and cackle. Any solutions?
I have the latest version of iTunes available for Windows XP and the same with Chrome. Just recently, everytime I open my browser, a new table, click on a link, any activity on the internet causes my playback to skip and stutter and repeat itself for about the first ten to fifteen seconds of playing. I have just over 17 days of music on a seperate harddrive that I keep all my music on so it doesn't slow down my computer and it has never caused a problem before, so I am assuming the connection is not the issue. I have checked the bitrate, and all the other solutions I have found on other forums, but nothing has helped. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

You can activate any two of them at a time, but if you want to use it on a third computer you will need to deactivate one of them before you can do so. To do that, go to Help>Sign Out.

Try restoring it using Recovery Mode.

Okay i had to install Itunes onto my new OS because window's Vista messed up on me and i can't get any of my old purchases back from my account such as music and movies any ideas on how to get them back (i do not have the folder that contains old items from the last itunes or anything from that OS because it had a virus and i just wanted windows 7)

Firefox for Android added the ability to save HTML5 video/audio playback in Firefox 21. Long tapping on a media file while it is playing will give you a save option. It can be found as Firefox Beta in the Play Store. In about 4 weeks it the change will be available on the release version of Firefox for Android.

I have some spyware on my system that neither my malaware bytes, comodo antivirus, spybot search and destroy, and a few others I've tried, can detect. The piece of spyware is a browser hijacker that keeps hijacking my firefox homepage and nothing I can do will get rid of it.
the problem only happens in firefox and no other browser is affected. basically my homepage gets changed to the following:

Yes there are numerous options about this in the support section but none of them work. I have tried everything and I do mean everything and each time I restart firefox the bloody thing comes back. I've reset the pc - works until you close down the browser and restart it. I've gone into my profiles, i.e. user/AppData/Mozilla/firefox and deleted the .js files, parent.lock files - comes back on firefox restart. I've searched the registry the best I can. I have even put an entry into the Hosts file in syst32 and that has afforded me partial success in that I now get a 404 instead of the pesky and irritating jaamla search page. I have even gone into the About:config settings and wiped the url but no matter what I do it always comes back on restart and it's only with firefox.
This is something that firefox needs to look into and not assume that just because there are a few answers in the support section that they all work, because all of the options appear to work until firefox is restarted.
It even comes back after a complete uninstall and wipe - I am at a loss at what to do and where to go next. Please help!I think the next step is to use Windows 7's auditing feature to figure out what processes are touching the file other than firefox.exe.
This is somewhat arduous to set up, but here's what I did. I have Win 7 Pro and I don't know whether this works on other versions.
(1) Open the Event Viewer to the Security log
Start menu > Control Panel > System and Security category > Administrative Tools
This should launch a folder of shortcuts. Double-click Event Viewer. If Windows objects, you may need to right-click> Run as Administrator.
In the left pane of the Event Viewer, click Security.
(2) Enable object auditing
In the Administrative Tools folder, double-click Local Security Policy (or right-click > Run as Administrator).
In the left pane, expand Local Policies and click Audit Policy.
In the right pane, double-click Audit object access and turn on both success and failure and OK the change. (screen shot attached)
(3) Enable auditing on prefs.js
Right-click your prefs.js file > Properties, click the Security tab, then the Advanced button. In the Advanced Security Settings dialog, click the Audit tab, then the Continue button. (screen shot attached)
Click the Add button and type Everyone, then click Check Names. After you click OK, you should get a dialog with numerous checkboxes. Clicking the Full Control box for each column should select everything. Then OK that. (screen shot attached)
(4) Test
Change a preference in Firefox that updates prefs.js (for example, you can change your home page). Then when you switch over to the Event Viewer, you can click Refresh on the right side (or choose a different category such as Application and then Security again to refresh the list), and you should find a listing in the File System task category for "a handle to the object was requested" for prefs.js, showing firefox.exe to be the active process. (5) Assuming the test works, exit Firefox and watch for any other process touching the file.
When you're through, you probably want to turn this all off again, since it does use cycles in the background. -
I'm looking at buying a new computer. Has anyone had any problems with fusion drive on iMac? If so, what kind of problems, and were they easily corrected?

I better not! My iMac is only a week old. And, if I did have any problems with it, I would let Apple deal w/it! I do not troubleshoot when I'm under warranty. That's Apple job! -
I Tunes has lost quite a large proportion of my music library. I think this may have happened when I tried to download a previous version of ITunes that failed to load. Whatever, the music is still on my IPod. Is there anyway files on an Ipod can be transferred back into ITunes? Or is there any other way I can try to recover my music files? Also, I no longer have any confidence in ITunes ability to store data efficiently and wonder if there is any way I can back up my IPod outside ITunes?
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was planned with you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself independently backed up against loss. To use a device with a new computer you transfer the content from the old computer (or its backup) directly to the new computer, not the device to the new computer. Media syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchases which can be transferred to a computer.

My current problem is that when I rip a DVD to an iphone/ipod touch format with my ripping software, I have to convert the file to one supported by apple tv when I want to play the movie in apple tv. To clarify, I wish to rip the DVD once, with no file conversion in itunes, for playback and transfer to iphone/ipod touch and apple tv. I assume there is way to this by altering the ripping settings, perhaps trying 600-900 kps per second. I hope that there is a way to rip a DVD that can be played in the iphone and apple tv. She also noted that the iTunes store had requested a verification of $0.99 but had not charged the card for the amount.OOnce the $ .99 charge goes through to verify your payment method, you should be able to make your purchase.

I receive the above black screen 'no bootable device' error message daily, after not using my imac for a while. I will note that the computer will boot normally, and after a while, the screen saver initiates. Some time later, I get the black screen error message. I have to hard boot the computer again at this time. Any ideas?

JTHThat message means that your Mac restarted and that no bootable volumes were found. First, open System Preferences > Startup Disk, and choose Macintosh HD. Then, see if the problem appears.
Also, open Disk Utility, choose Macintosh HD in the sidebar and verify it. This may be a sign of a hard drive failure -

Any experience with iTunes syncing to Sony Xperia Active?
I'm considering getting a Sony Xperia Active only becasue it's more durable than an iPhone, but am curious if anyone has any experience with its syncing to Apple software like iTunes, iMovie, Address Book and iCal?

It seems it just does it on a basic file transfer level, not interfacing with any of Apple's actual applications (not surprisingly). Playlists are actually part of the iTunes library, not the media files. While you could add a "playlist" to it by dragging the files to the device, it would just be adding a bunch of files and you would then have to figure out how to get them structured into a playlist format the device understands. There may be third party software packages that go beyond the basic one I linked but you would have to search.
On the calendars and addressbook, again, no interface with Apple's applications. You'd have to export the data into some format the device could then import. Maybe not impossible but certainly not seamless. -

I got a problem setting up Windows 7 on my recently bought 13" MacBook Pro (2,3Ghz Core i5).
I used the bootcamp assistent to create a partition of 50GB on my Mac, everything is fine until now. I insert the Windows 7 disk and follow the instructions. But when I restart in spite of starting the installation of Windows 7, a black screen appears with a note saying "no bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key". To exit this screen I then have to restart my Computer again, holding down the alt-key. In the following window I can just chose my Mac-Harddrive to boot from, the partition is not shown.
I used the software actualization tool to update to version 10.6.7 which is the most recent one i think.
The Windows 7 CD I use is actually a burned one. My University is a member of the msdn academic alliance and therefore offers me to download microsoft software for my work. I stress out that this is absolutly legal, I will only be allowed to use the software unitl I finished my studyings.
So as I said, I downloaded the Version of Windows 7 Professional with Service Pack 1 (x64) on my computer and then burned on a DVD. I want to add, that the file I downloaded turned out to be an iso file. At first, I just burned this file on a DVD but since it turned out that i got the above mentioned message, I burned a second DVD with the actual files of the iso (with foldernames like autorun.inf, boot, bootmgr, bootmgr.efi, efi, setup.exe, sources support, and upgrade)
I dont know if these details are of any relevance, but i guess it may be useful since I believe that the burning thing could cause the problems.
I have already browsed the Forum for quite some time now, but I didnt find a case with the exact same problem that I have, so I decided to rather ask you for help now instead of killing my brain like I did before (and I dont really have a clue neither of Macbooks nor of Windows-Computers, its always try and error for me)
I hope somebody can come up with some helpful ideas or a solution.

Apple Disk Utility won't do a proper job and won't work (and it varies, some can start the install but fails later) Has to be burned at 2X Reduced Burn Speed
