Any Adobe Connect IT admins out there?

Hi Guys,
I wrote a small freeware application for TechNet community that helps automate IT account creation. Basically this app connect to each IT system such as AD, Exchange and Lync to create accounts at once.
I want to support Adobe connect in my app but I am not sure if there's enough. Please let me know if this will make your life better.

This is to any admin out there. I am from Trinidad and I own a live with walkman which I love howeer I would ike to update to ICS. Can anyone help. Or you can email iTunes Support at iTunes Store Support.
If all else fails:
Go to: Apple Express Lane;
Under Product Categories choose iTunes;
Then choose iTunes Store;
Then choose Account Management;
Press Continue;
Now choose iTunes Store Security and answer the bullet questions, then click Continue;
Sign in with your Apple ID and press Continue;
Under Contact Options fill out the information and advise iTunes that you would like your security/challenge questions reset;
Click Send.
You should get a response within 24 hours by email.
Presently there appears to be problems on Apple's end, so it may be quite some time before they respond.

It is kind of round about way to get in
Here is what he said to do and it is working for me...
1) on the device that is asking you for the security questions go to "settings", > "store" > tap the Apple ID and choose view"Apple ID" and sign in.
2) Tap on payment information and add a credit/debit card of your preference then select "done", in the upper right corner
3) sign out and back into iTunes on the device by going to "settings"> "store" > tap the Apple ID and choose "sign-out" > Tap "sign -in" > "use existing Apple ID" and you should be asked to verify your security code for the credit /debit card and NOT the security questions.
4) At this time you can remove the card by going back in to edit the payment info and selecting "none" as the card type then saving the changes by selecting "done". You should now be able to use your iTunes store credit without answering the security questions.
It's working for me ...I just have to put in my 3 digit security pin from the credit card I am using.

Adobe Connecting Recordings, audio out of sync or missing

Over 30% of our recordings have issues. Either the audio/video/power points are out of sync and/or the audio will be missing and the video is frozen. With the upgrade to Ver8 our live events are 95% successful, we don't see audio/video issues during the live meetings only when we view the recordings. The other thing that is strange is sometimes we will view a recording the day after a meeting and it is fine. But then after some about of time we will get notified from our customers that the recording is messed up and when we go to view it sure enough it's messed up. It's as if something on the Adobe servers has corrupted the recordings.
I have opened a handful of support cases on the recording issue but have yet to get a resolution from Adobe. The basic process is that after weeks or days they give us a "fixed" recording. Some are truely fixed but others still have too many problems to use for our customers and so we are stuck with having to redo meetings to record them again.
We are using a 12 MB dedicated wired Internet connection. Only running Adobe Connect on the host computer, nothing else.
What can we do or Adobe do to increase the success of our Adobe Connect Recordings? What can be done to prevent the recordings from being corrrupted on the Adobe servers?

It appears that our hosted server has not been upgraded yet. Here is the output when I request the version information.

Not sure if this is the right place...but is there any aggregate data repository/dictionary out there?

And what I mean is...Is there any aggregate data dictionary out there that tells you how long and what type a data column should be?
For example...Medical Provider Name...what is the normal length for something like this? Provider ID? Tax ID? Address Line 1? City? State?...Etc...
Is like EDI X12 considered the Bible of Data Dictionaries? Yet you have to pay for that don't you? Is there anything else I can reference???

Any custom quotation screen savers out there?

I'd like to be able to have a random quotation as my screen saver. I've found quote screensavers out there, but none of them let you use your own collection of quotes. Does anyone know of a screen saver I can use to do this?

Any 1st Gen iPod users out there? M8541

All this talk about shiny new iPods has got me all nostalgic over my lovely old 1st gen scroll wheel model (M8541). Alas the hard disk died on that a year ago and it's been gathering dust ever since.
I've been Googling trying to find others in the same predicament, and hopefully some details on how to obtain a new/refurbed hard disk and bring the old timer back to life. Alas, I've not got very far as yet, which either means my searching skills aren't up to much, or it's just way too difficult so no-one's succeeded.
What I'd really like is to find some kind of flash memory with the same ATA-5 interface used by the original disk, so I can have something a bit more durable in there. I'm sure this must be possible and am hoping there might be someone out there who's tried the same or knows enough to convince me I'm wasting my time.

I have this model too. Is yours a 5 or 10 GB? Also, I you using it on Win or Mac? Mine is Mac but want to use it on Win.....is it possible to reformat it to work? I;ll see if my search skills can help ya find a new HD for yours.

Any QuickBooks Web Connector Resources Out There?

Hi Guys and Gals,
I'm on this kick to make an application for QuickBooks using Oracle's SOA Suite and ADF. I've gone through "Getting Started with Oracle SOA Suite 11gR1 - A Hands-On Tutorial" but I'm only marginally closer to connecting to QuickBooks than when I started.
Does anyone know of a sample application that uses the Web Connector and SOA Suite? There are a couple of applications included with the QuickBooks SDK but they're all straight Java or C# files, which is way beyond me at the moment.
Straight documentation doesn't usually help. I learn best if I can get my hands on something I can tear apart, see how it works, and put it back together.
I'm really quite new to all this, so any relevant feedback would be appreciated. Google, these forums, etc. aren't really returning any hits.

This particular thread on our Labs Preview forum has some great mobile examples on it. You can scan through them and look particularly for the ones made with Preview 7, which functionality-wise was the closest to 1.0.

Any full function mailing applications out there?

None of the resident Mac apps have simple address label printing ability combined with custom database flexibility as far as I can tell... There were many products out on the market that did this back under OS9, but these days all there seems to be is Mail Factory, which is marginally OK, but ultimately I would like the app to also be able to send bulk emails in addition to printing labels.
All I am looking for is a simple database entry program that allows categories, custom fields, sorting, filtering, autofill options and printing to standard label size formats like Avery 5160. It should also be able to import/export .csv, .txt etc.
i have Power Up's ancient Address Book 2.0 app under OS9, but would like to use an OSX app if possible. I also bought a program 3 years ago on Windoze called MyMailList - but it's a real PITA.
I don't want to have to do mail merge from Excel or Appleworks so don't even go there. Apple's Address book is sorely lacking the kind of database functions I want. Filemaker is huge overkill for this simple task.
Any suggestions anyone?

Sorry to confuse. Yes, the primary function desired would be database, with address label printing and also at least some minimal customization features, and sorting and filtering. I mentioned integrated email because the 80s are over... didn't everyone get the fax? I mentioned Address Book because the application "Address Book Plus" had everything I am looking for on the Mac (minus email) dating back to 1990 or earlier, finally, I mention DBMS/Filemaker because the customization features I need are way beyond what a simple PIM can accomplish.
Example - Show ALL. Show only those in CA. Show only customers of Widget C. Show customers of Widget C in CA, Show most recent purchases sorted newest to oldest, Show only purchases in 2008, Show Widget C purchases in 2008 in CA sorted reverse alphabetical, etc.
Print mailing labels for one of the above lists.
Send a bulk email to one of the above lists.
Print individual label - send individual email.
Pretty simple really - very powerful too.
Minus the email feature, there are clearly some options - but I am wondering why something so obvious as integrated emailing isn't implemented? So basically what I'm concluding is that we're still stuck in the past on DBMS applications, and that for emailing, one has to use a different application and re-enter all the data over again... except that the email application won't support all the fields for including everything. Oh well...thanks for the suggestions everyone (I already have NeoOffice too - it's great!)

Any cheaper external dvd burners out there???

Now that i've found out that my wonderfully expensive apple doesnt have a dvd burner, i have to buy an external dvd burner. I was recommended Lacie but that's too expensive. Anyone know of any cheaper ones that work fine as well??
also, do i need all of that touch8 stuff? can i just get the dvd writer without all of the extra programs?

That's the beauty of it. No drivers required when you make your own. The OS already has everything you need. There is nothing required in terms of additional downloads to make your burner work via Firewire when you install a Pioneer S-Drive into a standard 400 0r 800 firewire enclosure. It works right out of the box!
At one point in time, I too thought that whatever I build in terms of computer hardware was bound to fail. Now it turns out that the items I built, actually last the longest!
Now there is one exception to the above that comes to minds, Lacie (pre configured) ext. FW HD's may rerquire additional 3rd party drivers at times.
Don't ask me why. You'd have to check their web site for this type of support.

Adobe replacement - What's out there other then Adobe Acrobat

I am tired of messing with Adobe Acrobat, is there another Mac friendly program I could use that adequately replaces Acrobat?

It depends on the nature of your interaction with Acrobat, also you don't mention whether you mean Acrobat Pro or Acrobat Reader.
PDFClerk Pro can perform many of the functions of either Reader or Acrobat Pro and do so more efficiently, and it can even do things Acrobat Pro can't. On the other hand there is functionality in the Adobe offerings (especially Acrobat Pro) that you won't find in either PDFClerk Pro, or PDFPen (Pro). So without specifically knowing what your needs are, it is hard to say which alternatives are viable for you.
You can easily try these software packages though. PDFClerk Pro, for example, is downloadable as a fully functioning demo (with the single limitation that in demo mode all output is stamped with a watermark), so you can see for yourself whether it would fit your needs.

Any car charger/transmitter combos out there fro the Z

Like it says, I'd like to eliminate the extra wires needed to power and transmit signal to my car radio. I wonder also if the unit can be charged and used at the same time? I know on my laptop, it docks and is unable to be used until removed...

I'm assuming the stereo you have doesn't have audio input(s) I'd stay away from the FM transmitters if you have the option. Do you have a newer car Some stereos are Satelite radio ready and in that case you can get a PAC unit to add a couple of audio inputs. I did this on my car and I'm much more pleased with the results than I was with any of the numerous FM transmitter options I tried.
In terms of charging, when I try to charge my Zen Xtra through a cigarette adapter while I'm playing songs I get annoying humming noises. I didn't spend much time trying to troubleshoot this because the Xtra's battery lasts longer then 99% of my car trips.

Any Logic 8 / EWQLSO users out there?

I am using Logic 8.0.1 on a PPC G5 iMac and I'm getting some weird problems with the East West Quantum Leap Sound Orchestra, apart from the fact that I won't be able to use it when I get an intel mac! My soundcard is an RME Fireface 800.
It all runs smoothly as long as i only use it in certain configurations. You know when you boot the plugin, you get a choice of which configuration you want to use.
These work fine:
Mono
Stereo
16 x mono
5.1
These produce some bizarre digi feedvback / pink noise type sounds:
16 x stereo
1 x 5.1, 15 mono
and all the others in the list basically...
I'm not worried about 5.1 as I don't work with that format but I would like to use 16 x stereo Can anyone explain why this is happening, is it a bug or am I doing something wrong.

I'm experiencing exactly the same problem with the Trilogy wrapper. Spectrasonics support recommends increasing buffer size. I tried (from 128->1056) to no avail. On playback with the wrapper instantiated on a track, my Apogee Ensemble overloads due to an extremely loud click - then, silence - no audio. Unchecking the wrapper in the Logic AU Manager solves the problem. It's obviously a "wrapper-induced" problem which Spectrasonics has difficulty dealing with
Spectrasonics has no apparent solution nor do I. At this point I'll punt on Trilogy. Their support team told me not to expect a new Trilogy until after their STEAM-based Omnisphere is released on September 15, 2008. The universal binary version of Trilogy will also be STEAM-based.

No there arent and you have to be running 10.6.8 to upgrade to Mountain Lion (10.8.4). You would have to upgrade to upgrade to Snow Lepard (10.6) first then to Mountain Lion. It looks like Apple still sells Snow Lepard discs here:
