Any advice for FOREIGN language lyrics?

Pearlyrics can only search for English language lyrics .. is there an equivalent for foreign languages such as Chinese and French?

Is there any way to change Apple's default fonts for Greek and Hebrew into these other fonts?
No.
But word processors often have features like "styles" where you set the font, if that helps. Nisus Writer has a system of preferences where the font can be set for each language.

    You used the data.  Verizon can not see what it was sued for.  However your phone can see whats apps used the data.  go to settings-data usage- there will be a place that says data usage cycle.  line the dates up with your cycle.  then there will be a bar graph below that   extend bother white bars one all the way to the left and one all the way to the right.  after those are extended below that will be a list of apps,  there should be one that used over 2 gb and that will show you what app used that data in her purse

  • Auto Speech Alignment for foreign language dubbing

    I just watched the excellent "How to use Auto Speech Alignment in Audition" video on Adobe TV, and noticed that he mentions that ASA can be utilized to add foreign language dubs to a video. I find myself in that very process at the moment, and would really like to hear how ASA can help, but all the video mentions is the fact that it supposedly can.

    I suggest also using the "Comments" section for the page that the video is on as well.  This may get more eyes here, but it _should_ get the eyes of the video's producer there.
    Anyways, the technology, does use spectral information in getting the alignment.  This is how it can achieve better results sometimes when compared to older existing technologies for automatic alignment.  For example, a waveform envelope may not be able to tell sibilance from a vowel sound when comparing an overdub vs the original field audio.  However, this is easy when looking at the spectral information and it can achieve a tighter alignment for that.
    That is, of course, assuming that the same words are being spoken in a similar way between the two clips.
    As for two different languges, I think it is a "Your Mileage May Vary" situation.  I think the intent of the suggestion is probably hoping that this feature can save you time if you wanted to get better lip-sync.  However, one can easily imagine that if the dubbed audio is stretched or squeezed too far that it (A) won't sound natrual, but more importantly (B) disrupts the performance of the voice actor.  On the other hand, if it is just doing micro adjustments it can make the timing better match that of the original mouth movements because it is making it match the timing of the original audio.
    I would suggest people with actual real-world content to try it out and preferebly post a video of your results (either positive or negative).  That would be a good way to further the discussion.

  • Any advice for teacher struggling with scratch disk problems?

    Hi,
    Just wondering if anyone out there has advice for me. I am a Media Teacher with very little technical expertise. We use Premiere Elements 4.0 in my school. This is accessible to students on the school network but is located on a separate drive. I am experienceing a lot of problems at the moment which I suspect may be to do with having multiple users. The students work in groups. Some of them do not seem to be able to access their current coursework - a scratch disk error message comes up and they are asked if they want to locate the scratch disks into their own area of the school network. As personal space is very limited, they always say no, and then cannot access the projects. Other students do not have this problem. The scratch disks are located by default to the same drive as the main work.
    A further problem is that in one project, the clips in the second half of the project seem to be 'offline'. I have seen this before and have been able to fix it by locating the clip in the project menu and using 'locate media' to reconnect it. However, this time round, the clip can be seen and runs perfectly in the project menu. It also looks as normal on the timeline. It is only in the viewing window that it comes up as offline. The locate media option isn't available. If I save as an avi, the offline message appears, so the project burns as it appears in the viewing window. If I drag the clips down from the project area and reconstruct, everything plays normally until I close the project down and open it again, when the clips are back offline. I can tell something strange is going on because the project is loading very quickly - it was taking a couple of minutes previously.
    Any advice at all would be welcome, as we are near the end of the coursework and the projects we can't access represent a term's work for the students!

    You may need to contact Adobe Tech Support for your specific needs.
    Is Premiere Elements installed on your network or on the C drives of each computer? The program must be installed on the C drive in order to work properly. You can't run the program from a network installation, and that could explain why you're having the problems you're having.
    If you've got Premiere Elements installed on your C drive, you should be able to access your video files if they're stored on the network. But this depends on how your network is set up. It may not be possible for all of your students to access material out on your network drive and remain connected to it the same way every time you open your project.
    In other words, you're using the program in ways it's not designed to be used. This is why you may need to contact Tech Suport and see if they can recommend a solution, short of each student having their own complete installation on each computer.

  • Problem with charsets for foreign languages

    hi
    i have a problem with a webapplication
    in my webapplication i have some code that gets data from a webpage of another webapplication. This other web application can use many foreign languages
    the problem is that those foreign languages contain some special characters, and those special chars aren't displayed the right way
    this is the code to get the data from the other webapp
    private static StringBuffer getContent(String sUrl) throws MalformedURLException, IOException  {
            StringBuffer content = new StringBuffer();
            URL url = new URL(sUrl);
            HttpURLConnection httpURLConn = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
            httpURLConn.setRequestProperty("charset", "utf-8");
            BufferedReader buffReader = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(httpURLConn.getInputStream()));

            while ((inputLine = buffReader.readLine()) != null) {
                content.append("\n" + inputLine);

  • Search Requires an Extra Space for Foreign Language

    I have a field in the index that has both english and far east characters.  When I do a search, I append the * suffix operator.  I have no problem getting results for "whic*" - it brings returns back docs starting with these characters;
    however, whenever I search for foreign characters, I have to append a space before * in order to get back results.
    I am using the 2014-10-20-Preview api version.  Am I doing something wrong or is this a bug?

  • VERY green  user needs translation for "foreign" language you all speak

    Well Ive read through the forums for a while now (had my imac G4 for about 2 months). Ive created numerous dvd's using slideshows (and books) from iPhoto and exporting them to iDVD 6. So far I am doing a reasonable job with the very limited knowledge I have.
    My problem is this... I want to know more in order to make more professional presentations, and by reading the forums I am attempting to do that, but you are all speaking a language I just don't understand! I have problems with the quality of transferring projects from iMovie to iDVD and whilst reading some solutions on here NONE of them make sense to me. I have to have toast??? I have to encode something or other etc etc. How do I ensure my computer is burning at 2x and not 8x?
    When I say VERY green user... I mean VERY green. Is there ANYWHERE I could get information about how to make better presentations, how to improve the quality etc in plain speak? What else do I need on my computer to make iMovie and iDVD work better for me? Is there better software that I could use?
    Any help you could give me would be most appreciated. But please, keep it simple for my (apparently) very simple mind.

    Another question here... when i used disk facility to burn the project, there didnt seem to be any option to burn it at a particular rate? Again, what am I doing wrong??
    Follow these instructions:
    File/Save as Disc Image...
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=164927
    This will isolate any encoding/burning issues you may encounter. Once the disc image is created, double-click the .img and burn the virtual disc that should appear on your desktop, using Toast to burn the DVD. Disk Utility to burn the .img file. Usually, you can select a burning speed in Disk Utility.
    There are variations to this process based on which OS X you are using...
    Open Disk Utility (in Utilities folder in Applications folder), click on the virtual disc (maybe the .img) in the left-hand window. Click the Burn icon. A new window should drop down and your SuperDrive tray will open after clicking the Burn icon. Insert a recordable DVD. (Verbatim DVD-R preferred by me.) Click the Close button. Wait. Select a burn speed. If you hold your mouse cursor over the pop-up it says: "Select a slower speed to work around burn failures," so select 4x or slower for best results. Then click the Burn button.
    -->If the virtual disk selection won't allow you to click the Burn icon, use the .img file instead. This may have changed in 10.3.9 and did change in Tiger.
    Also, you can use DVD Player to play the virtual disk to check your iDVD project before burning to DVD. Launch DVD Player. File/Open VIDEO_TS (Open DVD Media... in Player 4.6). Find the VIDEO_TS folder and open that. (The audio folder is for DVD-Audio disks.)

  • Any Advice for 4:3 and 16:9 Menu DVD Authoring / Scripting?

    Hi all,
    Working on my first DVD with both 4:3 and 16:9 menus. I was wondering if anyone has advice, pointers, things to watch out for, tips, etc...
    I want it to be completely automated so I am using scripts to check SPRMS, jump to menus depending, etc and so far so good. But I am encountering a few issues and sure there will be more.
    Here's a question - this is a music concert DVD and each song is a chapter in a track. I have the menu button for each chapter assigned to the Select A Song menu and that track's button is selected.
    How can I keep this functionality but also keep the 4:3/16:9 menu ability? Do I need to write a script for each chapter marker?
    Thanks everybody.
    Jason

    That sure is easier, thanks. I might just finish via scripting to figure it all out but if something doesn't work it's real good to have this way.
    I guess the only drawback is not being able to fully utilize the 16:9 screen real estate. It's probably worth it for most cases.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • Installing PHP on OS 10.3.9 - any advice for unix novice??

    Not sure if this is the right forum, but here goes...
    I am trying to get PHP set up on my mac, but I have gotten a bit stuck. I think I have sucessfully downloaded and installed MySQL, but I am very confused about the best way to install the necessary version of PHP. Many how to and tutorial sites (and the visual quickstart book i checked out fromt he library) recommend using Mark Liyanage's installer at http://www.entropy.ch/software/macosx/php/.. However, it seems that he is no longer providing support for Panther. The Visual Quickstart Guide has a graphic with a screen shot of Mark's site from a while ago, and it looks like once upon a time there was a PHP 5.0.0 for apache 1.3 installer designed for Panther, but now the options are different.
    So, feeling confused about all of this, I decided to try to see if I already had PHP installed, and if so what version - I have heard that PHP is preinstalled with apache on some macs. So, I decided to try running the phpinfo.php script in my browser (http://localhost/phpinfo.php), but instead of running the script, the browser just displays the script [
    <?php
    phpinfo();
    ?>
    ]. I have also read that you can change some code in a file called httpd.conf file, but as I am a total Unix novice and not very familiar with using terminal, I have been very leary of this.
    If anyone has advice or resources, I would be eternally grateful!!
    Many thanks in advance,
    Lauren
    PowerBook G4   Mac OS X (10.3.9)

    I'm afraid that you will keep running into roadblocks without learning the CLI. Mac OS X Unix Tutorial is a good starting point. Open the Terminal.app and type the following command:
    php -i
    Learn how to use Pico a simple unix text editor, so you can edit configuration files.
    Instead of installing pre-compiled binaries you might consider using fink to compile binaries from source code.

  • Have Any Advice for Proper Maintenance of G4?

    Good Morning?
    I have had my Digital Audio 466 MHz G4 for several years now and it has always treated me wonderfully. However now that I have put thousands of songs from my cd collection, thousands of pictures and the multitude of data that one collects over the years onto this system, I am becoming a little paranoid about a catastrophic system failure.
    I must admit, I have never backed up the hard drive or run any kind of maintenance on this system. I am now ready to start. What should I do, what programs should I use (preferably freeware) and how often? I am talking about backing up the hard drive, any kind of program that I should run to improve system performance, etc.
    Currently the machine is running 10.4.8, has 768 MB of RAM, the 40GB internal hard drive that came with the system, an additional 120GB hard drive that was installed within the last year. I do have a 80GB external hard drive with a firewire connection.
    I would like to thank everyone in advance for any help and for making this forum such a valuable resource.
    Strangeite

    Hi, Strangeite -
    In addition to Tom's links above, some generalities -
    • Free space on drives. On a boot drive running OSX, keep at least 5GB or 15% free (unused) space, whichever is greater. On a non-boot drive, keep at least 15% free space. This allows room for OSX to use its auto-defrag routines, and helps prevent directory or access issues which can happen when a drive gets too full.
    • Backing up data. This should be done to a drive other than the boot drive - another internal drive, an external drive, a CD, etc. Partitioning the boot drive does not step around this - a partition of a drive is still physically part of the drive, which means that if the drive dies, so do all partitions of that drive.
    If your data is very valuable, make redundant backups of it - such as to both another hard drive and to a CD. Backups are only as secure as the media they are on.
    Setting up one of your additional hard drives as a backup boot drive is good planning - your machine is firewire bootable.
    • Drive maintenance. Run a disk utility on a regular basis on all your drives - the sooner something is found and repaired, the less damage (loss of data) will occur. OSX's Disk Utility is good for this - although it can not fix everything, it has good diagnostics.
    If you can afford both Alsoft's DiskWarrior and Micromat's TechTool Pro, get and use both. If only one fits your budget, DiskWarrior is a good choice.
    • Physical.
    Keep the machine reasonably dust free, and well ventilated. Heat is a killer; dust is an insulator. An accumulation of dust on fan blades can not only reduce the fan's speed, hence its cooling ability, but also stress the fan to early failure. Canned air, which can be got at places like Radio Shack, are good to blow out accumulated dust. Vacuum cleaners are not good - they are too powerful, and too capable of generating a lot of static electricity. Keep a couple of inches clearance around all sides of the machine, more in back - don't stifle cooling air flows.
    Copper will slowly oxidize over time; copper oxide is not a good conductor of electricity. It would not hurt to break and remake cable connections annually or so, in order to keep the contacts in the connectors clean.
    If your machine is critical to your life, keep some reasonable spares on hand - a spare mouse; a spare keyboard; perhaps some spare cables and hubs or equivalent. No sense being knocked out of use for lack of a low-cost item.

  • Any advice for getting edges of a 3D box to match up?

    hi all,
    i'm making boxes made of black and white solids in a 3d space. the bgnd is white so it shows up the tiniest error in the edges of 2 panels meeting.
    if i line things up with the axis on the edges exactly i get gaps between the panels. if i pull the edges in to get rid of these i get the edges crossing over.
    i was wondering if there were any good tactics or advice to minimise these errors.
    the camersa will be moving around and the boxes will be fixed in space.
    cheers

    Apply Matte Choker or Minimax to the pre-composed (2D) layer. This usually helps to prevent the most obvious issues.

  • Any advice for airport express on my powerbook g4 please...

    i recently bought airport express for wireless broadband connection, wireless printing etc and at the time was advised that i needed an airport extreme card so bought the card too.
    On my powerbook the card slot is under/beside the battery compartment and the card happened to fit into the slot fine as did the connector.
    But....the card did not work! so with further research i found out that my powerbook actually needed the original airport express card, not the extreme! After a long search i found a the right card(so i thought) which arrived today....and now this one doesn't even fit in the slot!
    Can anyone possibly tell me which card i need and if poss a part/ ID no. might be useful.
    Also, my broadband modem has a usb connection, am i right in thinking that this wont work and i'm going to have to find a modem with an ethernet connection?

  • Ready to order a 27" - any advice for me?

    I need to update now for work....was going to get macbook pro, but see that I should wait. So then i settle for the 27"...and see all this drama over the display! Anyone care to advise me? (need this for design work, doesn't require power of a tower)

    At this point the implication is that you MAY get the "yellowing" issue, but probably won't experience any screen flicker. Remember, when you DO get your machine, check what week the machine was manufactured. It is the 4th & 5th digits of the serial number... so if your number is low, like 05, or 08 or something, that means it was made the 5th and 8th weeks of 2010. Otherwise with one like 49, that means you ended up with a machine built last year, however, this is just FYI, it doesn't necessarily mean you will experience any issue either way. There would seem only a small % chance that you would experience a screen flicker at this point. But there have been other issues reported.
    I would go here, to see what the latest reports are on new machines being built, which you are very likely to get methinks, since so many orders for these babies have been placed.
    quick summary of issues experienced for people all over the net:
    *keep in mind, most of these issues have been resolved with machines manufactured in 2010...
    1. broken glass cover of screen
    2. yellow tinge on bottom of screen, or one side of screen, sometimes heat related
    3. super-loud fans (this has been the point of a lot of contention, but supposedly apple has verified that some people have this, and they change out the fan units themselves for you)
    4. flickering or blacking out of screen, or misaligned desktop, etc. (seems to be 99% solved with the combination of 2 firmware updates apple has released.)
    5. Dust under the glass cover of the screen. (be careful removing the cover yourself, a lot have broken this way).
    6. dead pixels on screen (from only 1 to half a dozen have been reported.)
    7. dead pixels on built-in isight camera (test by taking a picture of a black cloth, then if photo shows any whitespots, they are dead pixels)
    8. some have complained about the noisy seagate hard drives, but only a few people have had them replaced by apple... and some people have had DOA drives.
    9. some people had computers that wouldn't boot, total DOA
    I would say that any of these are possible, as with any computer! However, the yellow tinge would be the one to watch out for if you're just ordering a machine now. Dead pixels are a risk anytime you ship an LCD screen, so I wouldn't let that deter me.
    Personally... I'm going to wait another couple of weeks until it seems that they might have found a fix for the dreaded yellow tinge issue... or we feel like risking it! But since it's seems to be heat related, how long until it develops even if you don't have it from the start?
    Hope that info helps.
    Oh almost forgot, the i5, and i7 model processors are the ones that seem to be MOST likely to afflicted with any/all of these issues. So if you get a Core 2 Duo processor, it would seem you are LESS likely to get an truobled unit. And btw, the i5/i7 ARE more like desktop power machines, they are VERY powerful.
    So, my recommendation: if you need a machine now, and it doesn't have to be all that fast, and can't wait for the macbook pro updates, just get the Core 2 Duo 27" and hope for the best. But of course, with a little more money you can have a much faster machine too, so, ... that's how i see it. So if you're willing to settle for less, but the issue still remains that the shipment times stated are for 2 weeks, even though some people have been getting them sooner, like now.
