Any advice? --unable to insert jump links into RH8 WebHelp project

This feature was working but then it quit. any idea as to why I once could include a jump (link) and now this action causes my Word document to freeze up? I then need to manually shut down Word and restart. Even powering off my system then reopening the project has not corrected the problem.
Also, the RoboHelp tab at the top of the Word document has disappeared. I'm told this means I need to manually reattach the robohelp.dot template. But, should I really have to do this every time I open the project?
Any help will be appreciated!

I'd be surprised to hear you are able to find a class that trains RoboHelp for Word.
All the classes these days are centered around RoboHelp HTML.

Inserting A SWF into a Captive Project

Hi All,
I'm trying to insert a swf into my captivate project. It goes
onto the slide with no problem but when I preview the project the
swf is not animated. I'm using AS3 to code the animation so there
is only one frame. I set the frame rate in Captivate to match the
frame rate of the swf with no success. Any help is appreciated,

I suppose that's possible. I'm not a Flash Coder yet but
would imagine the sky is the limit once you get things into Flash,
as at that point it's a Flash project, no? I don't believe an
avenue exists to take a Flash project and pop it into Captivate.
(By that, I mean to export from Flash as a .CP file - I am well
aware that one may create a .SWF from Flash and pop it into
Captivate as an Animation)

TOC not generated for FM9 book linked into RH8

Hi all,
I have a book, originally authored in FM7.2 and imported into FM9, that is linked into a RH8 WebHelp project. I can't get a TOC generated from the FM TOC within RH8 as advertised.
The book has a TOC with two levels: chapterTOC and section1TOC, e.g.,
1. My First Chapter...........1
      Introduction..................1
      More About That..........10
      And So On..................90
The chapterTOC style uses a font that is both bolded and larger than the section1TOC style, and section1TOC is indented, as can be seen. So I'm expecting good things from RH8 re the TOC, because this is apparently all that is needed for RH8 to correctly parse the TOC.
In RH8, I linked the book into the project, right-clicked on the book file, checked the "Convert FrameMaker [TOC]" checkbox, and gave "TOC1" as the name of the new associated TOC. Edited the properties of the WebHelp layout so that the TOC used was TOC1. Right-clicked on the book file in the Project Manager and chose "Generate". TOC1 was empty, so I click "Generate Primary Layout". When that's done, the TOC is still empty.
Any suggestions?

An update: the TOC entries are recognized if the styles are formatted in Times New Roman. It turns out that if the font weight has the choices "Regular" and "Bold", then the TOC style is recognized. If the font has choices for weight of "Light", "SemiBold", or "Bolded", the TOC entry is ignored. Hence TOC styles that use Times New Roman work, and styles that use fonts like Elephant and Bookman Old Style do not.

Unable to insert pdf object into 64-bit Word 2010

I have always been able to insert pdf files into word documents. However, when I upgraded to the 64-bit version of Word, I started experiencing the below issue.
My setup is: Windows 7 64-bit, Word 2010 64-bit, Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro v9.4.7.
When I attempt to insert a pdf file into Word, I receive the following message:
"The program used to create this object is AcroExch. That program is either not installed on your computer or it is not responding. To edit this object, install AcroExch or ensure that any dialog boxes in AcroExch are closed."
I have researched this issue a great deal.
Previously, I found a posting which specified some registry keys to delete. I followed these directions and it worked. But, after installing some updates, the issue is back and I am unable to find the post specifying the registry keys to remove.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Solution:
Open Adobe Reader / Pro
Go to Edit àPreferenceà General (LHS)àUncheck “Enable protected mode at startup”.
Adobe Reader’s protected mode will be disabled
Now try inserting Adobe document in Word, it will work.

Unable to insert pdf object into ppt or word

I am unable to insert a pdf object into Word or Powerpoint. I have Adobe Reader 9.3 and Windows 7 MS Office 2010 64 bit. Previously, I was able to perform this task without issue with the same software.
For word, I get:
"The program used to create this object is AcroExch. That program is either not installed on your computer or it is not responding. The edit this object install AcroExch or ensure that any dialog boxes in AcroExch are closed".
For Powerpoint, I get:
"The server application, source file, or item can't be found, or returned an unknown error. You mayneed to reinstall the server application."
Was an update sent out that may have caused the issue?
Or is there a solution to resolve the issue? The ony solution I have sound is Disabling Protect Mode which does not apply to this version of Reader.
Any help would be greately appreciated. Thank you.

There is another thread on this and seems to be an ongoing issue with neither Microsoft nor Adobe owning up to it. What I did to work-around the issue is create a .zip file of the .pdf file which can then be put into the workd doc as an object file icon. Worked for me. Not the best solution but this has been ongoing since 2011, and this worked.

Flash nav inserting html links into div -example-

I have made a flash navigation bar and I want it to link to
the pages on the same page:

Of course I understand frames are outdated. I have read
through CCS and read about SSI, but I cannot find how to open
content into a Div. You can see what my objective is when you visit
the website above.
Two problems:
1.) What is the codeing for linking a flash button to a
corresponding div or frame? (I tried programing the MANUFACTURING
link to open in the _Parent frame and than tried the name of the
frame "mainFrame".)
2.) Can I make sure that the entire navigation is viewable? I
had to put this stupid scroll bar in.
I appreciate any advice as I have already checked out every
book on the subject and spent two days searching the internet.

Inserting AIM links into iWeb

As you know the HTML for inserting AIM links is aim:goim?screenname=YOURNAME&message=sup+man! So I was wondering how to set this up in iWeb if it is even possible.

You could modify the files outside of iweb, but I suspect the next time you published anything with iweb, it would see the file differs from the one you have made with iweb and change it right back again. I suppose you could move the modified file and all the other files associated with the page to another location and delete the page from iweb, but I couldn't be sure

Any one having problems inserting Pages files into iBook author"

Ever since I updated the Pages a week ago, iBook Author is unable to read Pages files while attempting to insert. Never had a problem in previous versions of Pages or files created a few months ago. The only work around is to copy text and past into new sections in iBook Author. Tedious. Any solution appreciated.

I ran some tests with a new Pages 5 doc saved in both Pages 5 format and exported to Pages 09 format, and iBA had no problem importing them. So perhaps the problem is confined to older docs.

All efforts to include a website link fail. I use the link function, type in the website address and paste it in the email.
However, recipients cannot use the link to open the connected website.

If what you're linking to is a webpage that is accessible to anyone, then I would NOT select the "attach the source" checkbox.
When you save a webpage in your browser, typically an HTML document is created, along with a folder into which are written the graphical elements, and possibly other linked documents. You can see that if any of the linked items themselves contain links, there is a theoretical possibility of a complex and multi-layered hierarchy of documents and folders being generated.
Now, if we select that "attach" option, then it seems to me that Thunderbird needs to do something similar to what the browser does when saving a page, and frankly, I don't think Thunderbird is that clever.
You don't need to send the page's content; your correspondent's browser or mail client can get it for them.
I think the appropriate time to use this option is when the link points to an item that is not visible via the Internet, such as a document or file on your own computer or local network, and ideally it would be a single, standalone, self-contained document with no links to any external resources. So a Word document that pulled in pictures or Excel spreadsheets would not be suitable. But turn it into a pdf, and it's more likely to succeed. But in that situation, I'd send it as an attachment, anyway.

(Microsoft office Professional plus 2013 15.0.4420.1017) getting below error.
Error Message: The Program used to create this object is

Also i tried mentioned steps:
Step1: Open Adobe Reader and goto Edit ==> References (ctrl+k).
Step2: In General uncheck the Enable protected mode at startup.
But still getting the same error.

I am unable to insert a wmv into my timeline, or convert.

My codec, sequence is XDCAM EX 35 (1920x1080).. The footage on the cameras that I used works well on this timeline. Now comes a video rollin that I have to place within the context of this live meeting. It is an HD WMV (1280x720). I have tried placing this on the timeline and rendering it out, or converting it to ProRes. or converting it to XDCAM EX. I haven't found away to make any of these play right on the timeline. I need to mention that the original and the conversions all play smoothly on QT Player. But on the timeline, all is not well. Number one, the video stutters (skips a frame) often. The audio may pop every couple of seconds, seemingly to stay in sync. Finally the audio sometimes begins in sync, and then you notice its losing sync more and more little by little. It's a 44.1k file. I've tried converting to 48k.

I think I will declare this discussion closed. In an earlier post I said I would need to keep working at this problem until I seized up the right setting. Well for my 1080ii XDCAM EX 35 timeline, I have alredy tried a number of settings. The source WWV is 1280x720. The problem is stuttering video losing every other frame, audio popping or audio continuously losing a greater amount of sync. I tried APPLE TV 1280x720 in Compressonr (I'm still making more, not all have been tested.) The Apple TV h.264 works. It has to be rendered. I know some will say that's not optimal. I have put a lot of time into this with no other good results so I'm accepting this for now. I might be cooking up another right now in Compressor that will work better. Thanks to the posters.

The JMS Queue is on another weblogic server and now i created a bpel process which has a jms adapter to insert messages inthe jms queue.I am deploying the Bpel in my server which does not have this particular JMS queue.
I am unable to insert the messages into the JMS queue present on another weblogic server. where as i am able to insert messages if the queue is present on my server.
Can you please let me know if its possible to put messages into a queue on remote server from local server.

Inserting a CD into Slot-Loading Drive

I'm new to Mac. I just bought a latest MacBook a couple days ago. I have a question about slot-loading drive. I'm not really familiar with this drive. Once, I tried to insert a CD. I forced my cd, but the surface didn't let my CD go inside. So, I just tried again, just like swiping my credit card. Then, my CD went inside. Is there any specific instruction to insert a CD into this drive?

(Actually, I made a mistake here.
I should not ask this question here because I don't have an original MacBook.)
However, I still feel that it's not that simple.
As you said, I held the CD by edges, and the CD is level with the drive bay. If I try to slide the CD into the drive directly, the CD doesn't really get inside very easily. However, If I push the CD from the right edge of the drive bay and move the CD to the left while pushing it to the drive bay, the CD finally gets in, and the drive will take it. This is why I was about to break my CD.

Inserting Multimedia Links

I have inserted multimedia links into my document. When I
generate the links all work correctly. However, once I then move
the file to the appropriate drive and then go click on the link I
get an error message.
The page cannot be found
HTTP Error 404 - File or directory not found.
The media is a .wrf file (WebEx Recorded File). The files are
listed under the Baggage folder. I would assume that the file
format is not supported but why would it work when running from my
desktop and not from the shared drive.
I have tried not only as multimedia but as a file. Still the
same problem. I have tried keeping the files in various drives and
linking from the various locations but that doesn't seem to work
either.

Sorry it took me so long to reply - the system wouldnt take
my password and even tried resetting. so I had to create a whole
new login.
I should have thought to include the details you need in the
first post. Sorry about that. I do copy to my desktop and work from
there making changes. I then copy the whole file up to a shared
network drive. I tested from my work computer and my test machine.
I go into our application click on the help link there, everything
opens fine. I go and click on the link to the file I inserted and
error. Both locations fail. I hope that helps. Let me know if you
need more info.
