Any alternatives to adobe flash? Kind of a drag not being able to view content? I love my iPad and will be an apple head for the rest of my days, but, adobe flash thing is a pain.

There are no ideal solutions as flash isn't supported, but depending on what sites you are trying to access, you might find that some of them (probably more so if they are news sites) have their own apps in the App Store which might let you get some of the content that you want (and there is the built-in YouTube app). Also there are browsers such as Skyfire which 'work' on some sites - but judging by the reviews not all sites. If you want to play flash games then you are probably out of luck if you want to play on-line though the iSwifter app might work on some of them, but again some flash games have app versions in the store.

I am so frustrated about Adobe Flash player. I can not play any Facebook games, open certain files and pictures and documents that I need to access because not only does this phone not do it but my old Palm Pre couldn't do it either. I have had so many times where I needed to access things either online or via email, or message that I can not even look at because of this. I have to wait until I for home or ask someone else to do it for me which is embarrassing. I rave about my iPhone 4S all the time because it is truly great except for this. When it use to happen with my Pal Pre I figures once I got my iPhone that it wouldn't happen anymore but I guess I was completely wrong. I have had this problem for years and always get a message saying that it's being worked on. Well a couple of years is a long time to work on it. I understand about contracts and stuff but why is it taking a company such as Apple to be able to get it for their products? I get a lot and always want to play the games on Facebook but I can't do it on most of them at least the ones I have tried. So I can not play against anyone at that time I have to wait until I get home or use someone else's computer or something. Please tell me that in the extremely near future that this will not be a problem anymore. PLEASE!! I am sure I am not the only one out there who is having issues and if you do get it available please let there be an upload/upgrade for current phones and not just for future versions of Apple phones. That just wouldnt be very fair to all of your loyal customers and tell everyone to get your products because they are great and end up leaving this little problem out until they by your phone. Especially if they just got the phone they have. You guys are awesome with technology I have faith that you can make this available to all Apple products old and new by uploads or upgrades. Thank you hopefully can give me some info about the status with this or if there wen is one. I would have thought that being a company such as you are that it would already be taking care of right from the beginning and not wait years to take care of somewhat that is very important ro have especially when there is so much our there using Adobe Flash now. I am not sure if this is just a blog with customers or if the company actually sees these posts but I am just hoping company or not that someone knows something about this. Feel free to try it out, but make sure you install it into its' own Program Files folderset and make sure you create a unique Profile for use only with Nightly. If the same Profile is used with both Release and pre-release versions problems sometimes arise after switching back and forth between different versions of Firefox. Basically, Nightly is like 18 weeks ''(at a minimum)'' removed from becoming a release version, but some projects stay on Nightly for a longer time as they are being developed. That happens to provide as many user / testers as possible, by not resorting to a separate development trunk version.

Where are you trying to get Flash Player from? Downloading is different from installing but many malicious websites offer to supply Flash Player as a means of installing malicious software and gathering personal information (e.g., passwords). You should get Adobe Flash only from Adobe and this link lets you download the full installer (Mac OS X (Intel) DMG) and run it locally. At that point OS X will ask for your password and if you've been using it successfully for other purposes (e.g., changing some items in System Preferences), it should work there too. Note that once Flash Player is installed, a Preference panel is installed too, and in it you can authorize Adobe to update Flash automatically.

No - flash is not supported, and probably never will be (http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/ and Adobe havn't created a version that works on iOS anyway).

Is there a reliable and secure alternative to Adobe Flash Player for Macs running Yosemite? I keep getting websites telling me that I can see a video because my Flash Player needs to be updated. But I haven't wanted to install it as I've heard negative things about it and Macs. Is there an alternative to Flash Player? And if so, what is it and where do I find it?

Being that Flash is very insecure, I've completely removed it from my MacBook Pro. The best alternative is to uninstall Flash from your system and download Google Chrome as it has Flash build into it and you're not vulnerable unless you're browsing in Chrome. If Safari is your main browser, as mine is, then you need to open Safari Preferences, go to Advanced and click the checkbox for 'Show Develop menu in menu bar'. Once you've done this, the Develop menu bar menu shows up and you can click it and choose 'Open Page With' and choose Chrome. It is a bit cumbersome, but it removes the vulnerability when browsing in Safari as many sites are now using HTML5. Hope this help.

You can check here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flash/about/ to see which version you should install for your Mac and OS. Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version, 10.2.152.25, 10.3.x beta, or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

and also that you follow the instructions closely, such as closing ALL applications first before installing. You must also carry out a permission repair after installing anything from Adobe.

One of the following steps should help.
1. System Preferences > Other/ Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
     Press the "Delete All" button
     Install Adobe Flash Player.

Then you should contact Adobe and see what they are doing to resolve it since Flash is their product and they gave up because they could not complete a version for iOS.
