Screen still too bright (fully dimmed) whilst reading in bed.
Any app or trick that can dim it more?
When iPad begins to go to sleep, it will dim just before it powers down, and that dim setting would be perfect for reading in bed!
Please, Apple, make the iPad screen more able to dim to a darker setting.

If you find the minimum brightness still too bright for night-time reading, Apple has finally added a screen filter in iOS 8. Typically Android offered a way to reduce the minimum brightness via apps when the screen was still too bright for nighttime reading even when set to zero but now you can enable this in iOS:
Go to Settings → General → Accessibility → Zoom.
Enable Zoom.
Tap 3 fingers on the screen to bring up zoom options.
Choose filter: low light.
Go back to Settings → General → Accessibility → Zoom and change the zoom region to full screen.
Turn Zoom off.
Go to Settings → General → Accessibility → Accessibility Shortcut and set it to Zoom.
Now when you push your home button 3 times quickly it will dim the entire screen for night-time reading.
I now leave in the low light dim-zoom mode most of the time and adjust brightness in that mode which goes to zero brightness if so desired...I only turn off zoom (low light with a triple click on the home button) when in full sun or need more brightness which is rarely

Hi, like some other users here, I'm facing the inability to open my wmv attachments in my mail -which is quite frustrating considering that most of my friends are windows users. I know iPad doesn't support wmv and some other windows video files, but isn't there any app that can get around this problem? I searched Appstore and one of the results I got was called AirvideoFree but dumb 'ol me can't understand how it works. Their website doesn't help much either. Any answer (in simple to follow steps) is welcome. If this app is not what I'm looking for-is there any other available?

I contacted Omar with support for Azul and was quickly answered. I was having the same problem. Since iOS4 multitasks you will need to double click the home button to show apps running in the back ground. Hold down on the app until it wiggles. At that point x out or close Azul. Now go back to your mail and click on the attachment and you get option to open with Azul and by using that it will open and play the .wmv file.
Omar said problem is a bug and they are working to fix it in an upcoming update. This is a great little app and the price is very reasonable IMHO. The above mentioned work around involves a couple of extra clicks but since I could not even view .wmv before I am happy with the work around.

Have you tried a reset? Give this a try.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

Tried select all, copy, paste into pages, but it didn't display date modified, size & kind, and also included images of selected files, which is too large.

I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:

In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

I sometimes see a handful of these pop up in a row (maybe 5-6 error messages in a row sometimes):
^not my particular error, just a stock photo from google, but pretty much the exact same wording/everything..
I am looking for something that can be used in the sense like how Disk Utility can "Repair Disk Permissions", but something that can "Repair .kext Permissions" (lol) if that's a thing..
Preferably looking for something simple, straightforward and isn't going to cause me to need to do a reinstall of OSX cuz it messed up any critical files..
Any recommendations?

Here's what I would try- in this order
make a backup first.
If it is an Apple .kext (like in your example), then repair your HD (boot into your recovery partition (⌘ R at restart) and use Disk Utility to repair your HD, and restart.
If it is a non-apple .kext, figure out what the app is that installed it, and uninstall it with the uninstaller from the developer. And restart.
4. If that doesn't work, reinstall Mavericks with the combo updater, over your current installation. It shouldn't remove any of your documents. OS X Mavericks 10.9.5 Update (Combo)

I need a filter/layer app to dim my screen beyond the standard settings on my iPad 3, similar to the many apps in the Android app store that can dim the screen all the way to pitch black.

I would gladly pay for such an app but it does not exist as far as I can see. This renders my iPad useless to me in anything else but daylight since my eyes are very sensitive at the moment. Any suggestions on what to do? I've been thinking of putting something physical in front of the screen like a flash filter but haven't tried this out yet.

Even though you can't reduce the illumination of the lights in the iPad further without a jailbreak, you can use this system setting to increase the amount of light that gets blocked in many cases by triple clicking the home button.
Another possibility. You gould get two polaroid plastic sheets and overlay them. When you rotate the sheets, you can vary the transmission all the way to dark. This works just like camera polarizing filters.
Send feedback to Apple. Since it can be done via jailbreak, Apple should be able to provide more adjustment.

The only way that I know to watch live TV on the iPad is with the SlingBox app and you need the SlingBox for the TV as well.

Calendar can have two or more calendars calendars listed at the same time.
Each can be a different color for identifidation.
The first screenshot shows that the Medical and Joint calendars are shared calendars.

You'll need a program that can open and edit the invoices. You can search the app store for "invoices" and see what you can find - perhaps there is a cloud-based one that would allow you to store the invoices on their server.
Or if the apps are fairly simple, you could open them in a Word Processing app that does sync two ways with the cloud and do your work on them - and then store the receipts in Dropbox/iDisk/Sugarsync. Loading the actual documents onto those services is very easy and self-explanatory once you sign up for them.
