    I have backed up my phone, reset my network settings and still it times out with 5 bars and 3g access. what to do.

    To follow up on my previous post. I went to The Apple Store and my wired (ethernet) internet worked perfectly. They checked out the computer with the network utility and everything was fine. I went back home and it was still disconnecting after 3 minutes. I had Comcast come and change my modem and ethernet cord and it still was disconnecting. And of course my old Powerbook G4 sitting next to it works perfectly. Anyone have any ideas? What should I do next. I have Apple Care.

    YOu can try resetting your network or a reboot.  To reboot hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release.  Wait for the phone to boot back up,  you won't lose any data.

    I have an AT&T M-Cell that gives 5 bars, got full-strenth wifi. Same wi-fi that my computer uses, that my Kindle uses.  So not capacity issue. but my Internet on phone drops out continuously and frequently, any app that uses internet doesn't work at all. It seems like it started when I upgraded to 7.1.1  I have connectivity like crazy, so why doesn't the internet work?

  • When I go into any app that requires me to use the key board I instantly go back to the home page and can't access anything (not even settings)

    You posted in the iPad forum, but you profile lists an iPhone 4S. Does your iPhone or iPad have this problem.
    Here's some iPad suggestions. Most also apply to the iPhone. Your iPhone or iPad may show the wifi symbol but that only shows the presence of a wifi signal. Not that you are connected.
    Some things to try first:
    1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
    2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

    4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
    5.  Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

    Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

  • DVD Drive unmounts and crashes any app that tries to access it...help!

    Hi,
    I have a MacPro with a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR106d. All has been working well until recently.
    Yesterday, I started a project to encode my DVDs for Apple TV using Handbrake.
    When I insert a DVD, it spins up, mounts it, and allows normal operation.
    However, once the drive spins down (e.g. after a rip), the drive unmounts and won't eject the DVD. I've tried ejecting it using the Terminal, but Terminal freezes. I've tried Disk Utility, but it won't get past the 'gathering information' stage. I've tried any other app that accesses the drive, and they all crash. Eventually, Finder itself crashes and won't restart (or allow me to shutdown).
    The only thing to do is a hard-reset (ouch) which makes it work as normal.
    Any ideas?
    I've done a Permissions repair but no joy.

    Really strange. If I 'catch' the drive before it's powered down and eject the disk once Handbrake has finished, it's fine - and will do another. If I leave it for a minute, the drive just switches off completely. So so strange. I wonder if Handbrake is to blame?
    I've tried it on another user account as suggested, and it does the same thing. I'm going to try not using Handbrake and just play it, stop it, try to eject it and see what happens. Thanks for your help.

    I recently upsated my iphone 4 and my camera app disappeared on the screen.  I am unable to do anything that requires the camera or the light. I have already reupdated my phone again and removed multiple pictures thinking maybe I had to many on my phone. Can someone please let me know if they have had this problem and what they did?

  • Updating ios 6.1.3 but it times out and fails, what am i doing wrong?

    Last iphone 4s was replaced under warranty due to wifi greying out and now i can't update the software on my new phone.
    Tried updating direct from iphone but it fails and when attempting from itunes it says my internet connection timed out.
    I've attempted 5 times now and i don't know what else to try apart from take it back to Apple Store. Can anyone help?
