engraved and express shipping.

I ordered mine on sept 24 not engraved, and prepared for shipping since sept 25 (last night)
(my first order from sept 10, never changed status and was engraved, so i cancelled it)

Anyone else have a pre-ordered iPhone 4 from launch day that hasn't moved from "Not Yet Shipped"? Hasn't even moved to "Shipping Soon". Still shows deliver by June 24.

So I figured out why mine hadn't shipped. It involved a horrible conversation with AT&T suggesting I had sired a number of babies with the service provider, but my phone is now "Prepared for Shipment."
Basically, if you had to try a number of times to get a pre-order AND were porting a phone number from another company (in my case TMobile), you have a number of dummy accounts in your name (which AT&T apparently calls "babies" according to my rep, Chris, because you pick one to keep and the rest just die off on their own. Strange.). What this means that about 1 in 10 ports take longer than normal, and of those that take longer, some percentage get flagged by Apple as having a "Hold" on the account. As such, Apple will tell you to resolve your account hold with AT&T.
If you haven't seen the inherent contradiction, it's that I'm presently a TMobile customer; until I get my iPhone, I don't have an AT&T account to have a hold on, so there's no account to take a hold off of. After about an hour and a half on the phone with Chris, who had to coordinate with Apple, they managed to confirm that I wasn't some weird, fraudulent computer and got my phone set for expedited delivery starting today.
I hope that helps anyone else who may have had the same issue. In case Suzzie, my in-store rep, reads this, she did a phenomenal job. Even though I spent over an hour at the AT&T store trying to resolve this, she was friendly, helpful, and seemed genuinely interested in making sure my order worked. I've never had such good customer service from a phone provider, and it makes it a lot easier to write this process off as a small error associated with the launch of a phone that is decimating everything.

Anyone received a shipment even though status is still "not yet shipped"?

Has anyone ever received a shipment from Apple even though their online status shows their order as "not yet shipped"? Not sure if my iPad hasn't shipped yet due to high demands although it should have already or if magically it is on its way.

Heh...I think it'd put a whole new spin on "magical" and "revolutionary" if it were shipping without our knowing it.
I haven't ordered much directly from Apple's online store--I've either bought stuff from the brick-and-mortar Apple Store in town or I've bought online from elsewhere--but no, I don't think I've seen anything ship with the order status not reflecting that. On the other hand, I've heard that the UPS shipping tracking pages can be inaccurate (behind) with this kind of stuff. An article like this, from the Boy Genius Report, shows a little of that:

I'll try to see if I can find something from earlier this month about how the tracking pages can also be inaccurate because they claim something's in, say, China, but it's actually Stateside and just hanging out in a warehouse, but I haven't been able to track it down yet. I'll have to do some more digging and see if I can find it, but yeah...someone (@ThomasAtUPS at Twitter?) had mentioned it with regard to the wifi-only iPads being sold in stores and getting shipped out to people's homes.

August 6th purchase; still "not yet shipped"

I've done my homework on the threads here, and am deducing that we should be shipping any day now. Yet I've had no status change. Are they preparing and shipping on weekends, or do posters here presume we'll have to wait until the start of the new week?

I did! I tried the SoHo store and 5th Ave. I live close to the 14th Street store and was told to come early in the mornings as they would get a few in but fly pretty quickly. I guess from the turn out every morning, they were telling everyone that. LOL. So finally I just ordered it. I figured I would order a Vaja case and they would show at the same time...

24 hours later and 'not yet shipped'?

I ordered my Macbook Air (13inch, i5) more than 24hours ago and yet my status is still 'not yet shipped'. Anyone else in the same boat?

First, not all of us have a 'local Apple store—I don't.
Second, expecting a company to meet its advertised shipping commitments is not 'impatience'.
If the OP made a standard order then it should have shipped within 24 hours. I suspect that something else was ordered—such as a USB or miniDisplay dongle—which caused the shipping time to increase. If that isn't the case then the OP has a right to be concerned. However, that concern should be expressed directly to Apple—something that posting here does not accomplish..

I can't download any app. And it tells me that my apple I'd was not yet used in iTunes store and when I I try to log on my existing account it answered I have to update the latest version of iOS...

When getting this message basicly iTunes is seeing this as a new ID which has not been used on such device/OS in iTunes, follow the information provided.
If you have already done so and it continues to do the same thing then Contact Apple Support

Iphone 4 not yet shipped or in progress as of 06-22

i ordered my iphone 4 on 06-15 at around 1pm (tried since it pre-orders opened up and could not get through...) anyway, my order still shows as "not yet shipped" and is not in progress. i've called apple 2x, both reps stated the order is fine but they could not offer any explanation why the order was not in process or shipped. they mentioned several other people were in the same position as me and we all will receive the order by the 24th if that's what the order confirmation states.
im not very confident in this though, is anyone else experiencing this problem?

I see a pattern emerging here. Several people have responded that they are new to AT&T and are beginning new service with them with this iPhone order. That seems to be what most of us have in common (that and the "Not Yet Shipped" status). I'm guessing the those of us new to AT&T are being processed separately then those upgrading since it would, in theory, take longer to get us set up with a new phone.
I didn't port a number either - mine was a brand new account with AT&T with a new phone number.
Purely speculation but that seems to be the common thread here.
Thoughts?

Hi can anybody help or advise me? I've recently bought the i-phone 4s, I've set up my apple I.D and password but everytime I try and log in it says "this apple I.D has not yet been used on the i-tunes store" I click "review" follow the instructions and agree to the terms and condition's, enter my bank details but it declines every time? I've tried both my accounts and its declined both, this stops me from logging in so I can't download anything for free or buy anything, my sister had the option of skipping the bank details part when she created her apple I.D and just enters her's when buying something, why do I not have that option?? And why is it declining my bank details...please HELP!!!!!

The details I'm entering are correct, I choose visa as my card type, enter my card number, enter my expiry date and my last 3 digts on the reverse of the card, enter my address and zip code plus my home telephone number, click continue and it says "the payment method you have selected has been declined, please enter another payment method". I've lost count how many times I've tried, I've typed my details in slowly making sure I put them in properlly and it still declines it, I've even tried makeing a new apple I.D and when I get to the bank details part it declines it again so I am forced to press cancel and all details are not saved so its just like I'm hitting a brick wall, its ******* me off!!! I can't even download any of the free app's because to do so you must log in but when I do it says "this apple I.D has not yet been used in the i-tunes store" review my details and can't get past the bank details part. Status changed from shipment in progress back to not yet shipped

If I do not receive the phone it isn't the end of the world, but the confusion that Apple and AT&T are causing their customers is far from professional. I initially placed an order with AT&T on the 15th. After submitting my information I received an error message stating the order could not be processed due to a system error. I could not log back in to try again. I eventually placed an order through Apple's website on the same day. On the 17th I received an email from AT&T that my order was being processed (the one that their website stated could not be processed due to an error). I contacted AT&T and canceled the order after being on hold for thirty minutes on the 17th. I am beginning to think this may cause my order with Apple to be canceled. I needed to get this out of my system.

It stated not yet shipped, changed to shipping in progress, and is now back to not yet shipped. I am a little concerned that the order that went through with at&t is creating issues on my Apple order.

Question for the people who have a not yet shipped

my 3gs status is not yet shipped and after seeing all of the progress people are getting with their phones, I am naturally feeling a little left out. My question is, is this normal? With such a high volume moving in the matter days, is it possible that people aren't receiving an update on any web source but the phone has shipped anyway? Or on the other side of things, is it possible that some or many may slip through the cracks (even though they ordered on or a little after last Monday) and not get a Friday delivery?
Maybe some can shed some experience from the 3g launch.

I am in the same situation as you. Is this normal... no idea. I have called Apple 3 times about it, and they assure me each time that the order is normal and will deliver by June 19. I must admit I am nervous about it though.
Apple did not have pre-orders for the other iPhone releases. I have an original iPhone (non-3G).
They did have pre-orders for the original iPod I remember... I had ordered that and got it on release day in 2001; shipped from China like the iPhones now.

Yes it does give me a link. Its tell me to review my account info but when I click on review it then says I need to upgrade my iOS but I am already using the latest iOS. Any suggestions?

Is Apple losing customers by not providing Maverick software on media

I am guessing when I called the Apple store number I was routed to the nearest store - twice and both times the person answering either could not answer my questions or gave me the wrong answer.
Would like to update to maverick but the more I see on this forum about the update - it seems it woudl be better to sell it on media - or
allow a purchaser to talk to techs about issues - and what you need so you can have the purchases combined on a removable drive that you can either buy or return for credit.
Also, those of us who don't have fast internet connections just can't pick this stuff up.

After looking around at comments on this site - should have asked if apple losing customers with its current and future cloud only processes.
It seems to me, after browsing this site - the answer may be yes-frustrated users who can't get help from apple.
For those of us who purchased Macs primarily to work with pictures or videos - it looks like Apple does not want the business.
And for those of us who are not interested in the Cloud why burden us with software that insists you use it.

Problem converting any AP to LAP - Cert not yet valid

All, I have a problem trying to convert APs to LAP.
I have the following scenario:
- 2 WLC 5508.
- For the WLC the image is 7.0.220.0
- 10 APs registered. 7 Cisco 1310 and 3 Cisco 1242.
- Time on the WLC indicates is July 4th 2013 - 19:20:00
I have 5 more APs ( Cisco 1231G and Cisco 1310) all of them are Autonomous.
Im using the Cisco upgrade tool, which I already use to convert the first 10 APs, and I have over and over the same problem, no matter if I use the Cisco 1231 or the Cisco 1310. Once I run the upgrade tool, in the middle of the process I had the following error on the AP:
