  • Any Alternate to use  ORACLE GRAPHIC BUILDER   through Reports

    Hello ,
After long research some option of creating complex graphs does not serve my problem like BI GRAPHS . I want to create graph in such a way that for example I have one view in which trainno, station no, scheduled time and departure time are stored. I want to display a line graph for same train schedul and depart wise. Now I try to create line graph in oracle 10g, there only one single line is displayed for two groups scheduled time and departure time and that also not sorting properly.
In previous of oracle , Graphic builder had good option of creating field templates like line and attaching to line chart. So it there are two groups (Sched and departure time) , than line with different colour use to display separately for both. Now I don't find any way in oracle 10g to plot such type of Graph.
If anybody has option or way than please give suggestion.
    Regards,
    Prashant

I am not an expert on chart builder, so I don't know how you would access the model and get at the image files.
However, if you have a URL that points to an image generated by the chart builder, you can use the <image> element to display it.
It sounds like to produce these image files, you need to write some application logic. The correct place to put this application logic is probably in a subclass of a struts DataAction.

  • How to debug a form module (Oracle 11G Forms) through URL

How to debug a form module (Oracle 11G Forms) through URL.
My server OS is Unix. So i could not able to do the Debug Forms from the Form Developer.
It is displaying a message that "Cannot find the module". Becuase the system is trying find out the module in Unix system instead of ma local system(Windows).
I need to debug ma module through URL.
I can place the fmb and fmx in predefined form path in Server.
Please help me out to solve this issue..

This is a little unclear. If your goal is to use the Forms Builder Debugger while running your form on a Unix machine, this can be done. However, the form must first be in running order. So before trying to attach the debugger you must first be able to start it without the debugger. For example:
    http://yourServer:OHS_port_number/forms/frmservlet?form=yourFMX
Once this is properly running you can turn on debugging. If your form won't even start, then using the Debugger isn't going to help you because it is designed to troubleshoot coding problems and not configuration problems.
So, do this to use the Debugger:
    http://yourServer:OHS_port_number/forms/frmservlet?form=yourFMX&debug=yes
This will display a dialog box with some information. Do not click on OK yet as you will need this information to enter into the Forms Builder. Now, open the Forms Builder and click on Debug > Attach Debug. You will be asked for the information displayed in the dialog where you attempted to start the form. Enter it here (in the Builder) then click on ok in both places. To display the Debugger (in the Builder), click on Debug > Debug Console. Then from its toolbar click on the buttons related to what you want to monitor. Including a break point in your application code is often a more helpful way to use the debugger.
Most of this information is explained in the Forms Builder Online Help
    Forgot to mention...
To debug runtime issues, refer to the Forms Deployment Guide here (this assumes you are using 11.1.2):

  • Communicate a PC with GPRS module through TCP/IP

I want to exchange data between a PC and a GPRS module.
One problem i have is that my PC is on a local network and the IP my computer has, is the local IP. The server has a different IP through we connect to the internet. Which IP I must use and how?
I know almost nothing about TCP/IP (i have use the Labview TCP/IP functions successfully at our local network) and i would like to ask for informations. I know it is a little irrelevant with Labview, but as there are many users who uses GPRS modules, i would like informations about how to connect a GPRS module through TCP/IP. Simple examples will be the best.
Any informations, links, recommended books, will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks

    Thanks for answering Rolf.
To be more clear : i have a GSM/GPRS module (like the well known Wavecom's modules (or Falcom, Telit...)). They accept AT commands and they have a D-sub-9 serial connector. They connect to serial port of the PC. I want to connect to the internet with TCP/IP (by sending AT commands). But i can not find any manual..! The module have some commands for TCP/IP but no explanation or examples. Those modems have no drivers, they accept only AT commands.
For example i have to set APN and IP Address which i don't understant what i should write to. It is independant of Labview but i do not know where to look for information.
If someone knows anything similar please reply.
In that case what I wrote applies fully to you. You do not want to communicate with the modem from LabVIEW itself. You want to use TCP/IP and that means using the Windows socket library that the LabVIEW TCP/IP functions access. The modem then needs to be installed in the Windows system as a dialup adapter. There is really no other way to use a modem, GPRS or not, as TCP/IP communication path. Trying to implement TCP/IP,SLIP/PPP and all that in LabVIEW would be a many man year project with lots of problems and the likely chance that it will never fully work.
So get your modem to work under Windows so that you can use your browser to view some internet pages and once that works you can also use the LabVIEW TCP/IP functions to communicate with whatever is there.
Direct communication to the modem through AT commands would only make sense if you wanted to access the SMS facilities in that modem instead. Even that is not exactly trivial as I can attest to, especially if you want to make it work with more than one GSM modem type.
Your modem manufacturer should be able to give you the necessary modem initialisation string to put your modem into the right GPRS mode and your mobile phone network provider should be able to tell you the dialing number to fill in the dialup configuration. No need to do anything else!
As Wiebe explained rasdial.exe would then make it possible to connect to the internet under LabVIEW control.
All in all it's doable but I have spent many hours to get it working last time I did. A few of those were spent waiting on the line for the support persons of the mobile network provider to answer my calls and then playing the ping pong game to get a person that actually knows what a computer is and that it's actually possible to connect a modem to it to use their services.

  • Obtaining an oracle.sql.STRUCT through a pooled JDBC connection

    Hello,
I am using WebLogic Server 10 and and Oracle 10 and I am trying to obtain a vendor-specific oracle.sql.STRUCT from a ResultSet using a pooled connection defined in Weblogic. I need the vendor-specific object, rather than simply the java.sql.Struct implementation, because a third party library requires it.
What gets returned in the ResultSet is a non-exposed WebLogic wrapper object which implements java.sql.Struct, but which cannot be cast to an oracle.sql.STRUCT. I can use reflection on this object to find and call the getVendorObj() method to obtain the oracle.sql.STRUCT, but this solution is not acceptable because this is not a published API and is not guaranteed not to change in future versions.
How can I reliably obtain a vendor-specific implementation of java.sql.Struct through a WebLogic connection pool in WebLogic Server 10?
    Thanks for any advice,

    Joe,
Thanks again. With your guidance, I have arrived at the following approach, which I'll post for the benefit of others, and which I'd be thankful if you would validate:
    1) Import the jar com.bea.core.datasource-1.0.0.0.jar from %BEA_HOME%\modules, which is the only location of the class WLConnection, which is the only class with the getVendorConnection() method you refer to.
    2) Get the logical connection from the pooled data source, cast it to a WLConnection, call getVendorConnection() to obtain an OracleConnection (from the ojdbc jar), and use this connection to obtain the required oracle.sql.STRUCT from an OracleResultSet.
    3) Be aware of the limitations and follow the guidelines in the document http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/jdbc/thirdparty.html#1043646 regarding security, error handling, releasing resources (close only the logical connection), etc.
Does this sound like the approach you had in mind?

Thank you for the information about the connection being closed.
I will look into using this configuration setting.
You say that you can describe a way to get a handle on an unwrapped
pool object using some documented WLS-specific code. Are you referring
    here to the getVendorConnection() method?yes.
This method does not help me
get the oracle.sql.STRUCT object, because even the connection returned
by getVendorConnection() returns a wrapped WL java.sql.Struct object
from a call to getObject().I don't believe it. If you are running in WLS, with a local pool,
the getVendorConnection() will give you the Oracle connection,
which will give you an Oracle statement, etc, down to an oracle
STRUCT object. Once you have a direct reference to the oracle connection,
we're not in the picture when it returns something to you.
It would be great if getVendorObj() were
documented and could be counted on in future versions. To use this
method, one would still have to access it via Java reflection, because
the wrapper class and its getVendorObj() method would be exposed in an
API, correct? Could this method be exposed in the API, so that reflection
doesn't need to be used, or it is exposed somewhere that isn't documented?getVendorObj() is not yet exposed or therefore supported for the general
wrapped object, so you would have to start from the connection and
    derive all subobjects from it.
    Thanks again,

not a published API and is not guaranteed not to change in future versions.Understood. We all benefit from sticking to the J2EE standards,
but we could also wish Oracle had done so with it's driver objects.
I will assume your code is running in the WebLogic server, because
an external JVM can never access the real driver object, which will
always really be in the WLS JVM. No active JDBC object is serializable.
How can I reliably obtain a vendor-specific implementation of java.sql.Struct
through a WebLogic connection pool in WebLogic Server 10?There is no way to get a handle on an unwrapped pool object without using some
WLS-specific code, though I can describe a way with documented methods,
and/or I can get our documentation altered to say we'll support the
getVendorObj() method. We introspect every vendor object, and for those
implementations that have done the wise thing, projecting any non-standard
methods as an Interface, we are able to also project that Interface so
the vndor example code should work. However, in some poorly-done
cases, such as for some Oracle stuff, there is either no Interface,
or the Oracle code has extensions that take java.sql objects as input,
(at least that's the signature of the method) but two lines into the
method, the Oracle code assumes and casts the java.sql object to a concrete
Oracle object. In these use cases you need the direct unwrapped object.
We provide and document Connection.getVendorConnection(), and intend
getVendorObj() to serve the same for subobjects, but note the dangers
and responsibilities: We rely on our wrappers to implement the security
and thread-safety of our pooling system. Because user code can get
unrestricted access to the actual connection from most JDBC objects,
we can never trust that we have complete control once a vendor object
is exposed. Therefore, by default we will close and replace every JDBC
connection so exposed, as soon as the current thread is finished with
the pool connection. This hurts performance. We also document a pool
config setting that will tell us that you take responsibility for any such
problems, and not to close connections just because they've been exposed.
    HTH,
    Joe

can you please provide me reference document / link / RCD / PPT if possible..which helps in understanding exact differences?

    Hi Chris, Steve,
Not sure how it is working for you, but what I trying to is to reuse the sharable base adf bc model in multiple projects (using jdev 11.1.1.1.0). Basically, i have the following structure
    1. Base Model project (first workspace): that has an ADF Library deployment profile. In this project, I made sure that the project -> Project Properties -> Business Components -> Options-> Copy Package XML files to ClassPath is checked.
    2. Another MODEL project (Second workspace): I don't have any view controller project here. I can add the adf library (created in #1) through the resource palette to my second model project that is in a separate workspace, but when i try to create a new entity in this project that is based on an old entity, the wizard does not show any base entities that were packaged in the base model project that was created in #1.
Do you have any tips? In additon to the links you mentioned above, I have gone through the following, but of no avail. I would appreciate any help.

  • Importing P6 schedule to Oracle Projects

Is there anyone in this forum who has worked on importing Primavera activities to Oracle Projects?
    Regards
    Hawker
Edited by: HawkerHunter on Aug 18, 2010 9:55 AM

    Hello All,
thanks for your replies. We are currently using P6.1 enterprise version. We are currently implementing Oracle EBS Projects suite R12.0.6
We want to implement earned value management system through Oracle Projects.
We have two planning structures. One is the financial structure where we create the budget and also capture the actuals in something called "Cost activities".
Other is the execution structure which is basically done by the project planners in P6 and has a completely different structure as compared to the financial structure.
But for us to calculate the earned value, we need to collect the cost conponents and the performence components in some common structure.
Generally the project planners use their WBS to plan their activities. So we shall use the "Activity Codes" of P6 same as our "Cost Activity" structure and assign it to the Primavera activities so that on doing "Group and Sort" in P6 using these Activity codes, the activities shall get oriented in our desired structure.
So, I would like to know that while importing the primavera activities to the project plan in Oracle Project Management module, are the P6 activities impoprted based on the WBS only or it can be imported in any other order using primavera's activity codes.
    Thanks & Regards

make: *** [blib/arch/auto/DBD/Oracle/Oracle.so] Error 1I am sure that installing a previous(older) version of oracle client will fix this issue i.e. either 11.2.0.1 or older (that is tested) but I want to know if it is possible to resolve the above issue with a work around and not having to install a previous version.
Fyi.. I've tried to install DBD::Oracle version 1.24 and 1.50 but that doesn't seem to make any difference. I couldn't find any related thread either for this error so I desperately need a solution to the same(if any).
If anyone can help here, would really appreciate it or else, I will have no choice but to install previous version of oracle client.
    Thanks
