Any body know of a Java Script for retrieving learner location from LMS; similar to name?

Looking for a script to pull learning location from LMS. Then based on location send them to a particular slide. Any help would be appreciated.
Example: learning from Chicago gets slide 2. LA slide 3, and so fourth...

Are you using Captivate 8, so that you have access to the system variable cpInfoGeoLocation? And are your users on a device that has detection of location activated?
For the JS you'll have to wait for someone else, but I think this information is necessary. And since you don't want to try advanced/shared actions...just wait.

There is no download available for version 3 that I am aware of - version 9 is the oldest available offered by Adobe. Serial numbers are only valid for the version they were purchased for.

Excuse my ignorance as I'm not sure what you meant by "1 of 5" optimization. Did you mean median of 5 ?
Regarding swapping pointers, yes it is common sense and rather common among programmers to swap pointers instead of swapping large data types, at the small price of indirect access to the actual data through the pointers.
However, there is a rather unobvious and quite terrible side effect of using this trick. After the pointer array is sorted, sequential (sorted) access to the actual data throughout the remaining of the program will suffer heavily because of cache misses.
Memory is being accessed randomly because the pointers still point to the unsorted data causing many many cache misses, which will render the program itself slow, although the sort was fast!!.
Multi-threaded qsort is a good idea in principle and easy to implement obviously because qsort itself is recursive. The thing is Multi-threaded qsort is actually just stealing CPU time from other cores that might be busy running other apps, this might slow
down other apps, which might not be ideal for servers. The thing researchers usually try to do is to do the improvement in the algorithm it self.
I Will try to look at your sorting code, lets see if I can compile it.

If any body knows how to use CAT Tool for up loading transactions, explain the steps.
Our requirement is, we want to up load transactions like Oppor , Quotation,Order etc...we want to up load these transcations from Local system to CRM Server
how to do this? Let me know the steps.

If you have 10,000 or less, CATT is a reasonable method, but I would suspect that you have far more than that if you're needing to load transactions.
LSMW is probably a better way to go if you have more than 10k, but I am not familiar with LSMW

Hi,
Fingerprint scanners are not popular enough devices to be supported by Java yet. There's no general API or Java interface for it.
Each manufacturer of a fingerprint device will probably just ship their own drivers or SDKs. More than likely DLL's, so you'd need to write some JNI to call them.
If you want to allow your application to work with multiple devices, you will have to design it to do that. Ie. write a general "Fingerprint" interface, and write a class which implements that interface for each device you want to support.
Eg.

If the app is no longer in the store then you won't be able to redownload it. You don't have a copy of it in your computer's iTunes library or on your backup of your downloads/library so that you can sync it back to your phone ?

How to Enable Custom Java Scripts for forms in Planning 11.1.2.2

I am working on Planning 11.1.2.2 right now.
Planning admin guide says, there is no explicit requirement to enable java Script for planning forms.
I set simple alert to see text "Hello World" in function validateForm() function in custom/validateData.js file - to see and test that alert when I save data for my selected application/form.
Closed javascript file and workspace, and planning application web page. Since I have not to do anything new to enable this java script alert, I opened that form and saved data to see if I can see my alert.. I got no alert, except "data are saved".
Has anything changed since last version? Am I missing something? Or, do I need to recycle services to get this alert?

Not sure what I missed, but I still have a hard time finding my "Hello World" alert.
What I did, is here.
a. Cleared all cookies and temp files from IE.
b. Updated validateData.js file from ear / war files using 7-zip program at given path from your link.
c. Stopped EPM services
d. Dropped tmp folder.
e. Started EPM services and let system deploy ear file (with my java script code).
All services are up. I can see EAR file deployed and java script file ValidateData.js has all my changes in new tmp folder now.
I am able to open my application and form.
But, my "Hello World" alert is still not appearing. Form is saved and saw message as usual.
One exception I noticed in my path. I have ....user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\EPMServer0\.... in place of ....user_projects\domains\EPMSystem\servers\Planning_0\.... in my path. Planning_0 is replaced by EPMServer0 in this version. Rest is all same.

So I thought maybe something was wrong with my iTunes and downloaded it again and i got the "error while evaluating Java script for the package" when I tried to reinstall iTunes. Another issue I am having is with updates. I haven't received an update for a long time and when I manually check, it tells me there are none.

I'm not sure I understand your reply but when you insert images into Word that are larger than will fit on the page, they are automatically compressed. If you right click and select Size and Position you can restore it to 100% but you will not see all the image.
