Hi,
My fault has been open since the 14th June regarding absolutley terrible ip profile drop of 12mb and triple ping time increases. I have not heard from anyone now for around 3 weeks.

You an use your iPhone without connecting it to a computer.
But the product description for the iPhone clearly states that in order to sync with a Mac you must have OSX 10.6.8 or later. That version of the OSX is usually called Snow Leopard. There are two mo recent versions of OSX. OSX 10.7.x (Lion) and OSX 10.8.x (Mountain Lion).
If you can upgrade your computer to at least Snow Leopard I suggest you do so.

Any Chance Droid Charge (Samsung SCH-I510) Will Get Another OS Update?

I received the Charge, free of Charge (pun intended!) a little over a year ago. They were giving them away for a 2-yr contract renewal, and I bit!
I've had the Charge for approx. 16 months. During that time, I have received 3 OTA updates (FP1, FP5 & FP8). I have also noticed several problems mentioned in these forums already. Most notably, the problem causing me the most grief is when multiple instances of the phone are created (launched by me, after no activity after each app instance). All app instances appear simultaneously, and the poor person on the receiving end of the phone call hears me talking through several phone apps simultaneously ... echoing like mad. Usually, a reboot clears this up.
I should mention that this problem doesn't happen nearly as much since FP8 was pushed. Don't know if that was a coincidence or not. But the problem does still happen occasionally.
I recently had another critical issue happen. All of a sudden, I was getting force closes from many apps simultaneously, including system apps (com.android processes). The phone became unusable. Factory reset didn't resolve the problem. After doing some research, I found that I could push stock software and re-partition the memory space again through ODIN. I did this, and had no success at first because the phone thought I was using a non-stock battery, even though nothing had changed with the battery (stock battery received with the phone). After pulling the battery, and re-installing, and pushing the stock software w/ re-partition (pushed the original EP4D flavor of OS), the phone operated as it did when I first received it. Verizon pushed the "OTA" updates (FP1, FP5 & FP8), and my phone was back to good-as-new performance. Actually, the phone is quite snappy now.
Needless to say, I'm still concerned about the Charge. I am not up for contract renewal until March of 2014, so I'm just planning on doing a factory reset whenever I have these problems.
I recently read an article, stating that a bug was discovered in Feb 2013, which allows many devices made in the last 4 years (since "Donut" flavor of Android) to be susceptible to a bug taking advantage of "Master Key". It claims that a dev could unknowingly push an apk to the Play store, which is infected with this issue. It seems to be a stretch. Here's the URL to the article:

I have followed the suggestions outlined in the article, and found that the Samsung droid charge is susceptible. However, I've read a bit on XDA, and found that this is not really a huge problem, as it requires a user to install an infected apk, which doesn't happen all that often. It's a flaw in the OS which bug-devs are not actively taking advantage of, it would seem.
Here's my question, I know the few Droid Charge owners out there are still a bit hopeful that it will get an update to the Jellybean OS. Any chance this is possible? I for one, would love this!

If you did not activate the Find my Phone feature before your phone was lost, then there's no way to track it.
You need to notify your carrier so that they can disable your SIM. That's really all you can do.

Any chance I can use PC3200 (ECC) from my PC in my iMac?

I write 'my iMac' with faith, as I don't have one yet, but I'm getting closer and closer to pulling the trigger (and selling my powerbook to finance it). You see, I'm basically poor. I've got an open tab in this very browser for a 2gb kit of Corsair Value Select ($217). I've also considered a single gig stick (bringing me up to an unmatched 1.5gb). Then I had a crazy notion:
"My PC, which I hardly use any more due to the gruesome inferiority of XP to OS X, has 2x512mb PC3200 sticks in it... XP doesn't know what to do with anything more than 512!"
They are both ECC sticks, but my understanding is that ECC can work in non-ECC setups, but not vice versa. If you mobo requires ECC, you need ECC, but the ECC functionality can be not used and it'll work like non-ecc memory. Sorry if that wasn't clear, but I'm pretty sure my current mobo doesn't acknowledge or use ECC, yet my ECC ram is running fine. ECC stands for Error Correcting SOMETHING, btw. Servers often use it, runs a bit slower but more stably than non-ECC. Anyway, I've got two chips, a samsung and a crucial chip, and I'm hoping that IF they'll work at all, that one of them would 'match' whatever 512 chip Apple sends stock. Then I can get by with the iMac running on 1gb.
Am I a crazy cheap-skate? The other thing I considered slyly was 'Why not buy that 2gb kit and stick the spare 512 in the PC - then I can run BitTorrent, Google Earth AND a game at the same time on 1.5gb and stave off upgrading to an Intel iMac for another 6 months (ie. 2008?) because I also have 2gb in my iMac.'

Apple says:
"Important: DIMMs with any of the following features are not supported in the computer: registers or buffers, PLLs, ECC, parity, or EDO RAM."
However, my understanding of the language "not supported" is that they might work, anyway, but if something goes wrong it's not Apple's fault.
With as many iMacs as are in use, there must be someone else who has tried ECC chips, if they are willing to own up to it:-)

The main advantage over Qemu, Virtualbox or Vmware, is that there is only a very little performance loss for the virtual hosts. Virtual hosts, which all are linux hosts are isolated from eachother, no hardware emulation is done. You can see it like a kind of "super chroot/jail".
Basically, this is composed of two parts : a kernel patch, ans some userland utilities. The kernel patch (http://ftp.linux-vserver.org/pub/kernel … 0-rc3.diff) applies easily against a vanila kernel. The linux-vserver guys follow very well the kernel updates and I've been applying the patches for several versions now, without problem.
Userland apps have already been ported for Archlinux (http://oldwiki.linux-vserver.org/ArchVserver), even if they look a little outdated and can't be found on the archlinux.org package search engine.
The only hitch is the need to build a home-maid kernel.
I thought this patch inclusion could be of someone else's interest.

I feel your pain. I am in charge of over 250 PCs and laptops. Flash Player stopped working for me after an update. I have been working on this issue non-stop since the middle of October, 2012. It's time-consuming, and even after applying the latest Flash update, it still doesn't work properly.
I am beyond frustrated! I have people calling me left and right saying that they can't access content. I have been using this site https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/ to try and do a browser plug-in check while in IE an dFirefox. Even after I update all plug-ins, Flash still works about half the time.
For instance, the principal of the middle and high school wanted to view an online magazine http://upfront.scholastic.com/issues/12_10_12, about 3 pages load on this site. The rest continue to say LOADING. When I right-click on a page and then left-click on ABOUT ADOBE 11.5.502.110, it seems I am using the most up-to-date version for IE and Firefox.
Students are trying to access sumdog.com and stmath.com, both run using Flash. STMath is now working a bit better because I allowed some exceptions in our internet content filtering appliance, and in our firewall, sumdog still works half the time.
If Adobe is going to update their browser plug-ins, they need to test and retest before giving the public access. This situation is causing me a ton of problems!

After installing iOS7, my photos, all apps/games had gone. I can see the photos from a data recovery programme but couldn't recover them. Any chance that I can restore the previous version and recover all the data?
I didn't back up as I have changed laptop recently too, so the last back up time was long time ago.

I moved my music data from an USB drive to a NAS drive in the network. This also changed the drive letter assigned to the iTunes Music Folder location.
I updated the location in iTunes after moving the files.
But iTunes does not find the files any more.
The file structure is 1:1 and the only thing that changed is the drive letter going from E:\... to L:\...
Any chance to get the references restored? Since I did make edits in the database (such as Genre, BPM, etc) and created many playlists I am wondering what kind of trick I can use or what I did wrong.

Flashbuilder then crashed on me talking about memory problems. I have 4 gigs, memory shouldn't be a problem unless the software is really borked. I know notepad/scite doesn't give me any type lag for files with over 50k lines of code.
Maybe that can help you guys fix the type lag that I've been complaining for about 2 years now.

Any chance you are bringing back the Status Bar, because all updates past FF28 don't have the Status Bar which is where most of my favorite Addons are located (such as eQuake Alert and ForecastFox. This is really annoying. I've had to turn off auto update because of this and stay with FF28. I'm sure one day FF28 will become obsolete and then I won't be able to use my Addons.

Crappy BIOS on MSI 945P boards? Any chance getting better?

Hi all, I've already wrote it on different place but I'd like to know an answer, that's why I write it to a new thread.
I've got two MSI mainboards, both with the same chipset Intel 945P, just the bios differs; one AWARD the other AMIBIOS. Neverthless, both of them are experiencing similar problems in overclocking the CPU.
(1) MSI 945P Neo2-F and Intel P4 630 (Prescott, single core). My BIOS behaves "randomly" after changing the FSB. Other components offer a good reserve of performance and I am sure the CPU too. When increasing the FSB value for more than 15MHz, on reboot the system hangs and the original (200MHz) value is restored. If the FSB exceeds some 224MHz it always hangs and restores 200MHz. That mobo has an AMI Bios. No update seems to be available, as the MSI Live Update doesn't work (the server is probably down).
Even worse it is with a (2) MSI 945P Neo and the same CPU, with an Award Bios. The overclocking is also impossible. When the FSB value changed by just 1-2MHz, the system hangs on reboot and even though the manual claims that after 4 unsuccesfull attempts to boot it will restore defaults it won't. The only way is to open the case and remove the jumper to clear CMOS.
Though there's a possibility to overclock - through MSI Core center. Surprisingly, the same version of MSI CC offers different possibilities for each of the motherboards. (1) is overclockable just like 1%,3% .. 11% while for (2) it offers to change FSB by MHz and without limits.
That piece of software is crappy enough though and it is practically unusable, because on system reboot or power down it randomily (again) restores the original 200MHz FSB value.
I managed to oveclock P4 630 up to 4GHz without any problem by using MSI CC on (2) but annoyed by the issue described above, I decided not to use that kind of software.
According to other places on web, there are more guys around having the same troubles like me with 945P BIOSes, mainly what concerns OC. Here is my question: is there any chance that MSI will release a BIOS fixing this bug? Is there someone responsible for this so that I can report him the problems and he'll put some efforts in solving that issue or working on a new BIOS?

ok, i have checked the 1.5 BIOS from the link that kuni posted and CPU FSB & PCI-E is indeed hidden, but is set from default to async. all in all the features that are hidden in the 1.5 BIOS are already set at the best settings, so i don't see this as being a problem.
