Any cheap website builders out there? or any advice?

hi all, i have had a go myself using dreamweaver and have made a site,
how ever it dont look any good and am seeing if anyone can redesign it for me to make it look more professional,
i would obviously be willing to pay, just didnt want to fork out for a whole new site from a stranger online, especially as i know the basics.
i can provide everything needed.
site is www.uniquepcrepair.co.uk if anyone wants to take a look and even give me some advice on how i may be able to improve it myself.
many thanks Dave

Sudarshan,
You back up my good-fast-cheap motto.
As I said, I based myself when I was starting out on pricing in India because they were not agencies, they were wannabe agencies and freelancers. I did not know what I was doing and I will freely admit I asked a lot of "beginner" questions in this forum.
I come from broadcast television. I was downsized by a Nameless Broadcasting Company who saw me as a line item on a spreadsheet and had no interest in what I actually could do and the very high standards I set for myself.
Since web design is "work in media," I decided that would be a good thing to look at while I was not finding sufficient work editing television. Besides, my wife needed a website for her small business.
I did a few pretty much "cookie-cutter" websites that all looked like each other for $700. Everything was based on a book I read on website development. All of the CSS was done correctly, all of the elements of the page were correct and optimized for search engines. The author of that book really did a good job in explaining how to put together an elementary website, based on one design.
I then bought a large package (including several of their Dreamweaver extensions) from WebAssist. I based some subsequent websites on their good XHTML systems with drop-down horizontal menus and other features that were not part of the book on web design that I had worked through. WebAssist bases their websites on Dreamweaver Templates, so I learned how those templates could really make it easy to keep a large website working well. That revolutionized how I worked.
I went from their pretty staid designs to really learning CSS and how to create unique designs on my own. As my knowledge increased, so did my fees. I bought a number of really good plugins that speed up my work from Project VII. I continued to innovate for my cleints.
India has a real advantage over Northern Europe and the United States: They have lots of very well-educated people who can live well for a lot less than we can, because lots of everyday stuff in India costs a fraction of what we pay. And, for those who are intelligent, the educational system in India is first-rate.
I do not know all there is to know about designing a website for an enterprise. But I do a pretty good job and I charge competitive rates in my area.
I would probably turn down a job in England. I'd rather be able to sit down with my cleints.

Has anyone had any experience of 'Mackeeper'?

Check how many applications are starting when you log in, I found that if there was a lot of activity at login Finder did not display the icons on the desktop correctly, again like you it did not occur at every login, just occasionally.
For Safari have you tried resetting Safari, if that does not help you could disable plugins and extensions one at a time. You may find one of those is causing the problem.

My PC doesn't recognise my iPhone6, any trustworthy driver downloads out there?

Well, did you try on different USB ports ..? Once you connect your device in to PC, then unlock the device screen and see if device asks "trust this PC." or not.
As i said "try to use a different USB ports." Or, USB cable is the original one, right ?
If you run any antivirus softwares, disable it then. Besides, check the internet firewall enabled or not.
If iTunes does not recognize your device, then you do need to uninstall iTunes and then re-install it.

Any Drum & Bass producers out there?
I'm trying to find the perfect bassline sound like the one bad company (drum & bass group) uses in "The Nine" and "4 Days". The basslines are basically full and warm with fuzzy modulation.
I've tried Atmosphere, Trilogy, NI Photone, and ES2-so far and there are some okay stuff in there but doesn't quite make the cut. Just wondering if there are any other virtual instruments I could check out or if there are any tutorials on how to program your own.

  • Any Better EMail Program Out There for Macs?

I used Eudora as my email program for 10 years and loved it. Unfortunately, it became very buggy on the Snow Leopard operating system. Entire mail boxes got corrupted. So, I had to find a new mail program. I was told that Apple Mail was the best and have been struggling to have it meet my needs for the past few weeks.
Is there any other program available out there that is more like Eudora, but still supported with a new version for Snow Leopard - or at least an be run on this operating system?
    Thanks!

IMHO, Mail is the best. It will take a lot of getting used to for someone migrating from Eudora, though. I used to use Eudora as well, but gave it up years ago in favor of Mail.
Thunderbird will have some features that Mail lacks, but in turn lacks a lot of the polish and some very basic features that Mail has. For example, my wife was trying just two days ago to send a message to a subset of a group defined in Thunderbird's address book, and after ten minutes of both of us trying to figure it out, we finally gave up and she used _pen and paper_ to note the addresses. Doing this would have been trivial in Mail. These sorts of little not-uncommon niggling issues would prevent me from ever using Thunderbird myself.
You could also try [MailSmith|http://www.mailsmith.org>, which was a pretty compelling mail client once upon a time, but which I haven't looked at in many years.

  • Any iPhone Application Developers out there?

    Hi All-
Any accepted iPhone Developers out there? I'm looking to partner with someone to create an application that would be a huge benefit for users of the iPhone. If accepted into the App Store, this app would be a great utility for all users. I'm not a developer and would love to find someone willing to work on this little idea.
    Thanks

As others have expressed in this forum, I have a concern working at a defense company where cameras are not allowed. As cool as the iPhone is, I would not want to be fired for if Security discovers me with it!
I have read in other posts about people who have had the camera hardware removed for a fee, but this seems like a costly, extreme solution with the risk of breaking it and voiding the warranty.
If there are any iPhone application developers out there looking for something to do, it seems like it would be simple to develop a utility that would temporarily disable or enable the camera in a way that could be easily demonstrated to a security guard.
Are there any takers out there? Can this be done?
The camera cannot be turned off. Even if it could, the fact that it still has a lens isn;t going to stop security from stopping you.

  • Any good workflow tutorials out there for those moving from iPhoto Aperture

Any good workflow tutorials out there for those moving from iPhoto to Aperture 3?
Especially those that deal with using a laptop and off-line storage of photos.
    Cheers, Andrew.

There is no reason to not port a number from another provider (unless leaving a contract early and being charged the ETF) for if one does decide to switch back to their previous provider within the first 30 days after making the switch, the previous provider will take one back with welcome arms and the same phone number can be used this way.
Your way required getting a new phone number which can't be changed or potted after the fact for single line account.

The first thing that has to be done with a new iPad is to activate it via iTunes. What version of iTunes, and what spec computer, have you got ? The iPad's minimum requirements are (from http://www.apple.com/ipad/specs/)  :
    Mac :
Mac computer with USB 2.0 port
Mac OS X v10.5.8 or later
    iTunes 10.2 or later recommended
    (free download from www.itunes.com/download)
    iTunes Store account
    Internet access
    PC :
    PC with USB 2.0 port
Windows 7; Windows Vista; or Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 3 or later
    iTunes 10.2 or later recommended

  • Any more templates/examples out there?

I don't have time to fully learn how to use Motion, but I do have a project that needs handing in soon which motion graphics will spruce up.
What i've done so far is used the examples/templates with Motion, changed colours etc and I'm happy. I was wondering if there are any examples or websites with templates etc to download and use for Motion? i.e. something I could download, double click and it would save me spending hours setting stuff up.
I just want to do really simple things like create falling pink confetti or stars etc, and any example I see I would just edit to make my own.

  • Are there any web-based products out there for client project and interaction...

    Dear Web Designers,
Is there any open source, free, php software packages out there (or web products - a doc com tool) that allows a web designer freelancer (like me) who has their own business to take in client requests or new project request descriptions and requests from anyone and allow me to respond back with an answer, a timeline, status on the project etc etc. (besides just a standard contact us form - is there any project managment tool for web designers that works well for that?)

Sure.  There are lots & lots of them.  It depends on your coding skills, which scripts and databases your server supports, and how many bells & whistles you want.

  • Secure link to itunes store failed computer not connected to internet tried ununininstalling everything to do with itunes no joy also error code coming up E0000225 anybody out there got any ideas

Secure link to itunes store failed, (computer not connected to internet tried uninstalling everything to do with itunes,no joy also errror code E0000225 appearing. Have turned off windows firewall and also my Bullguarg security settings. Can anybody out there please help me thanks.

    Hi,
You could be right that the response to clicking on help is a symptom of an entirely separate issue, but nevertheless the secure link to itunes is definitely failed, and I am unable to log into Itunes on either PC.
I also noticed that even if I click on the link to create a whole new Apple ID, I cannot do that either, presumably because the secure link is not working.
After I noticed that there were weird things happening this morning, I did change my Apple ID password in the hope that this might resolve it, but it seemed to make it worse.  Now, all of my apple devices keep constantly prompting me for the apple ID password, and randomly either accepting it, or telling me it is wrong.  I know the password is correct because I can log onto the apple Manage My Apple ID screens in a web browser with it.
I was starting to think that this is an ISP issue (BT Broadband), but I have not seen anyone else posting with the same issue.  Does Apple use a different security protocol to everyone else?  I'm asking because all other secure services seem to be working fine, but anything related to apple that requires a secure connection or authentication is having issues.
I have also seen reference to making sure that Itunes is listed as an allowed program in Windows Firewall.  I cannot seem to do this because it says that my Windows firewall is being managed by McCafee.  I have checked the settings in McCafee, and it appears to me that Itunes, Bonjour, and many other apple programs have been granted "Full" access.  As said before in any case I have tried temporarily disabling the firewall and even this did not solve the problem.

  • Any ipod touch cases out there for me?

I've been all over the internet looking for the perfect case for my 1st gen ipod touch. I've seen some really stylish looking skins, but I want the protection of a silicone or hard case (I think I'm more partial to silicone). Can I have both style and durability? Does anybody have any recommendations?

I ordered mine from ivyskin.com. (they make cases for iPods & iPhones) It's a hard case that completely encapsulates the entire unit, including a thin plastic cover over the touch screen to protect it from scratches. It's sleek design is lightweight and the clear case makes it almost an "invisible" shield.
At around $30 it's comparably priced with all the other cases out there.

  • Any Patient Tracking Program out there?

Does anyone know if there is any simple patient tracking program out there?
Functions that will be needed is patients demographic information, name ,age, sex, number of times they visited, patient number visits in a single day, as well as a way to bill them and invoice upon visit.

If there is nothing specific you can research FileMaker Pro for any ready made forms they might have that would be similar in nature to what you want.

  • Are there any reliable training providers out there?

I'm looking to take training (preferably with certification) in Configuring Advanced Windows Server 2012 Services and would like some recommendations as to credible training

    Hey Steven
Course there is, you will find out that there are good and bad training providers out there, to get the most out of training I would recommend looking at practical based courses when you are searching for courses. A credible one I would recommend to you
from past experience  is Aardvark Training and Consulting. From looking at their site they deliver the exact course that you are looking for.

  • Are there any downloadable games still out there for 2nd Generation iPod?

I am searching for games that will download on an older iPod. Purchased two 2nd generation iPods on Ebay and am having trouble getting any games that are compatabile. Are there any still out there. Purchased these for 2 grandchildren. Help. Not only are there games, how do I download them. Can I do it from my computer? Can't find any in the app store on the iPod itself or have I just not looked hard enough.

They are there, but it's not easy to find these days.  At least your iPod touch can run iOS 4.2.  My old original iPhone can only run up to iPhone OS 3.1.3...
I used to be able to go into an app category in iTunes (on the computer), and sort the listing by release date, newest to oldest.  Then, I could go to the end of the list, and the older apps/games would be the ones that worked with the older hardware and iOS versions.  However, this method does not seem to work well anymore.  The lists do not appear to go back far enough, so the apps at the end of the list are still fairly new.
I found an app recently.  It's called VintApps.  You can go to the App Store using iTunes on the computer and search for it.  It costs 99 cents.  I can set it to "filter" based on iOS limitation (and other factors).  I can then browse in app categories (in the app), and it shows me lists based on the criteria.  Selecting an app from the list provides its description.  This lets me find apps that work with 3.1.3 (or 4.2 in your case)
Because older devices are slower (with a small screen), what I do is use VintApps on my iPhone to find something that looks interesting.  Then, I use iTunes on my Mac to find that app in the App Store.  If it looks good, I get it there (using my computer's iTunes) and sync it to my iPhone.
