Any compatibility issues with two X-Fi cards installed on the same syst

I'll give you a breif background on what I'm doing. I run an internet radio show, and I require three soundcards to be installed in my system. I am current running:
SB X-Fi (Non fatalty, but the full-size board)
SB Audigy2 ZS
Onboard Realtek
In the above configuration, all the soundcards are happy with each other and not bothered by each others drivers. However, I am currently toying with the idea of replacing the Audigy2ZS with an SB X-Fi Fatalty. Here's the issue, will the Normal X-Fi and Fatalty X-Fi drivers have any compatiblity issues? I dont believe they use the same software, so seperate drivers would have to be installed. With the Audigy card currently in the system, I never had to install any drivers for it as I think they cam with SP2 or something and my system automatically recognizes it with (WDM) next to it's name in device manager. I would just like to confirm this before I purchase the X-Fi Fatality.
Last question: What about another X-Fi (Non Fatalty) that uses the same exact driver that's currently installed in my system for my other X-fi. Would there be any issues with that?

I actually dont have any trouble with the mode switching right now, it works great. That's actually why I'm buying the second X-fi, so I have the ability to switch modes with the different cards. I'm not using the software that came on the CD, but the updated drivers off of the web, and there is a drop down box to change which card you want to set settings for. What issues should I be looking out for?

  • Are there any compatibility issues with Captivate and OS X Yosemite?

Has anyone noted any compatibility issues with Captivate and Yosemite?

I had the same issue. Updating resolved this as well.
I tested with Captivate 7 and almost everything seemed to work fine. I tested with an existing project file containing TEB's, Motion recording, a third party drag 'n drop widget, and a playbar with a TOC. This all seemed to work fine both in preview mode as after publishing. I also tested with Captivate 6 although I didn't publish anything. Here, everything seemed to work fine as well. However this was only SWF.
As jpm226 described for 8, previewing HTML5 doesn't seem to work with Captivate 6 and 7 either. Chrome gives a "This webpage is not available" notification. Publishing however, does seems to work.
Fortunately, the client we work for that asks us to use Captivate 7, also asks for SWF output. So I'll continue to use Yosemite for now.

I am frequently unable to join the internet or, if I can, it is exceptionally slow. The ISP says nothing is wrong ontheir end.  Are there any compatibility issues with any ISPs when using Time Capsule and/or iMacs?

Tried this several times to no avail.  I believe it is the ISP causing the problem...Time Warner.

Are there ANY compatibility issues with Itunes 12.0.1 and Mavericks?  Don't want to download Yosemite.  Not hearing good things about it.  I'm on Mavericks 10.9.5.

one obstacle, quickly removed. thank you.
nomenclature aside for a moment, 10.6.8 is correct but maybe more is necessary about the MacBook Pro: it is 'old': Identifier: 1.2, Intel Core Duo, 2.16 GHz, 1 Processor, L2 2 MB, RAM 2 GB.
i hope that is enough to get an answer to this: is it unadvisable to update its OS; in other words, if i update to 10.9, will the machine be able to handle it, 'speedwise'?

  • Are there any compatibility issues with Sonos and Airport extreme??

are there any compatibility issues with Sonos and Airport extreme??

Sonos uses its own priopietory wireless protocol SonosNet to distribute audio data among all its products, thus it should not affect other network devices which use standard WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n protocol at all though they may share the same radio channel for wirless signaling.
On my dual-band (5 GHz / 2.4 GHz) Airport Extreme staion, I select the option "802.11n Only (5GHz) - 802.11n (2.4GHz)" and turn on "Use wide channels" in Wireless configuration in order to use only 802.11n protocol and more radio channels to achieve maximum wireless bandwidth of 400 Mbps. This bandwidth is necessary for quick Time Machine backup to NAS connected to the Airport Extreme station through Ethernet cable. So my iMac and MacBook Pro always connected to the Airport Extreme through 5 GHz radio channel with 802.11n protocol whereas my iPhone 4S always connected through 2.4 GHz radio channel with the same protocol.
In my living room Sonos ZP-90 (same as new CONNECT model) zone player is connected to Airport Extreme directly through Ethernet cable (recommended by Sonos) and Sonos S5 (same as new PLAY:5 model) zone player in bedroom is connected wirelessly through SonosNet protocol to the ZP-90 zone player in living room.
These devices are in operation simutaneouly most of the time. Music is playing through the Sonos ZP90/S5 zone players througout the day, I am streaming viedo through Internet (fibre broadband 25 Mbps) on my MacBook Pro in bedroom or iMac in living room or reading news on my iPhone. So far so good and have no encounter any interference problem for about three years. Further more bandwidth for 802.11n protocol does not seem to be affected at all.
In fact with a low power Fujitsu USB drive (2.5" / 500 GB, designed for notebook) plug into USB port of Airport Extreme, it can be used as NAS drive for Sonos music distribution system without any problem. Just transfer all files from Music folder in my home directory on iMac into this NAS drive and set it up as music source in "Manage > Music Library Settings" in Sonos Controller for Mac application will do. Though the same drive can be served as Time Machine's backup disk as well, an independent full-fledged NAS drive for Sonos and Time Machine backup is better long-term solution for reliability and performance. With the NAS configured as sole music source, you do not need to keep any computer powered on all the time in order to play music through the Sonos system.

  • Seagate ST8000AS0002 8TB 5900RPM 128MB Cache SATA3 - for Backup Data Only. Are there any compatibility issues with an older  3,1 Apple Mac Pro 8-Core 2.8GHz (4-Core x 2) ?

Finally mass storage drives are being released. The Seagate ST8000AS0002 8.0 TB 5900RPM has just been released in Australia and I was advised to check on any compatibility issues, being that my 3,1 Mac Pro is an old, but working fine machine.
I have read there are possible issues with using HDs greater than 2TB with the MP 3,1 . But checking with OWC, they say the Seagate 4.0 TB Solid State Hybrid Drive is compatible for use with the MP 3,1.
So can the hardware and operating system handle an 8.0 TB of this sort ?

The problem is with formatting the large disk. The Mac can see and use them if formatted for a Mac
    Format large disks
That bug appeared in 10.8.4, and has not yet been fixed.
using a Disk Utility from any older Mac OS X, including the 10.6 DVD (if your Mac can boot from it) or any saved Installer DVD or thumb drive will work.
Another work-around is to move that drive to an external enclosure and Erase it there (provided your enclosure is modern enough to deal with drives over 2.2TB.

  • Are there any compatability issues with V6 and Norton 360 as there have been in the past?

When I last tried to upgrade to a newer version, a number of my Norton 360 features would not function and I got a popup message saying that there was some sort of compatability problem. I've subsequently had to go back to V4.

Ne there aren't any "issues" with Norton. Norton released a compatibility patch for Firefox 6 last Tuesday, a couple of hours after Firefox 6 was released.

    Hi Michael,
IE8 Compatibility Mode is fine for use with STVN2.1 applications. As Stephen said, IE7 and IE8 are certified for SVSN3.0 but IE6 support has been discontinued.

  • Are there any compatibility issues with AirPort Extreme 802.11n and Maverick OS X

    Are there any reported issues?

    Welcome,
The only issue is that the "old" Airport Utility (5.6/5.6.1) doesn't work with Maverics and you have to use the 6.3.2 version.
Having said that I use it with 6 AP (mixture of AX's and XE 2s) just fine with over 20 devices hanging off them and all Mac on Maverics.
It may depend on which Airports you have, if they are supported by the new Utility you should be fine, as ever YMMV!

  • Anyone have any compatibility issues with existing software?

Specifically, Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop 6? Last time I updated Mac OSX, I had all kinds of issues with the plugins for Lightroom and Photoshop, but I think that was more to do with going from 32 bit to 64 bit. I'm sure Mountiain Lion is still 64 bit, but I'm  reluctant to update. Anyone have any issues after upgrading?

A client of mine used to have a fibrejet network. Still do but now they use it for archive only-- deep storage.
As I recall, there was some limitation as to the number of users who could have write privileges at the same time. All users could read all the time, but only one I believe could write at one time.
Don't take this as gospel because I'm old and forgetful. And grumpy.

  • Are there any compatibility issues with Mavericks and EMC Celerra File shares, particularly with the SMB protocols?

Our company uses a EMC Celerra file share, but most of our users are Windows based. We have a small production department of 7 macs. Starting with Snow Leopard, we noticed some issues with SMB. We were able to resolve those issues, but had to wait to upgrade to Lion because there were additional SMB or permissions concerns with the Celerra file share and Lion. Now, we are again waiting to upgrade to Mavricks because of the way it handles user permissions. Does anyone using Mavericks now also connect to a EMC Celerra file share? Thanks!

  • Weird 5.1 issue with two seperate Creative cards

    Hi folks,
I'm hoping someone can offer me some help with this one:
I recently decided that I wanted EAX and 5. for BF2; so I looked at what we had in stock at work (I do PC Tech. R&D for a big(ish) UK firm) - having had the X-Fi demo; and found it quite good; I was tempted; but not for ?00 on one game. Plus I was hoping to keep my "proper" soundcard installed at the time for everything apart from BF2 (M-Audio Delta 44).
So; I decided to grab a Li've! 24-bit, as Audigys were now off our stocked-list...
I got the board home and installed the drivers; plugged in my Zalman 5. cans - taking great care to make sure I connected the weirdly colour-coded jacks to the correct F C/S and R sockets on the board. I came to do a speaker-test and I got the following output:
Front Left: Output loud from left side.
Front Centre: Output quiet from left side only.
Front Right: Output loud from right side.
    Rear Right: No Sound.
Rear Left: Output loud from left side.
I've checked all the EAX and CMSS settings I can think of/find; swithced between 2 channel and 5. and done all the fiddling I can think of; but there must be something I'm missing because...
...On taking the Li've! 24-bit back to work after writing it off as "not a proper Li've! as it doesn't have a 0K etc..." - I hunted around in the warehouse to find the last remaining Audigy 2 ZS in its lovely untouched-box...
... I got that one back here; and have the same problem... I've tried all the same things as with the Li've! to no result; and I've tried on totally clean (and M-Audio free) XP Professional and Media Centre Edition installs.
What little check-box am I missing? How can something I do ten times a day at work give me so much grief at home? Does anyone have the number of a good shrink?
Just in case it helps, my system spec:
Intel Pentium-D 820 CPU (Not clocked)
Asus P5WD2-Premium Intel i955X ATX Mainboard
    2GB (2xGB) Corsair VS DDR2
    256MB XFX GeForce 7800GTX
    Seagate 200GB SATA (Boot - on ICH7R)
    3 x Seagate 250GB SATA (RAID5 - on ICH7R)
    Toshiba 6X DVD-ROM
    NEC 6X DL DVD-R/W
    Creative SoundBlaster Audigy 2 ZS
(...Probably some other stuff that could have even less to do with it than the DVD dri'ves!!!)
M-Audio Delta 44 (Now removed (perish the thought!!!))
Microsoft Windows XP Professional (Temporarilly removed)
Microsoft Windows XP Media Centre Edition (2005)
Latest drivers for everything (including Auto-Update for Audigy - original CD release, Auto-Update, and installing "driver-only" package from website all suffer same problem).
...So, sorry for waffling on, but I figured it's best to give you all the facts... Any ideas are gratefully received!
    Thanks in advance, and regards,
    Rob.

Yes Finally I Got the solution.
    please check
    >r3trans -d   To Check Conectivity between Apps and DB Server.
If 000 then its OK- mean connectivity is OK, in this case all work.
when I was installing Second system then tnsname.ora and listner file was creating and privios system entry was removed.  DUE to that reasion First one goes down.
Solution:-  Both system entry should be Listner and tnsname file. Then Both server will work.

  • Will I find any compatibility issues with 3.1 v. 3.5 v. 4.0

I will be working with some special test equipment and on the test console computer it will be running TestStand 3.1.  Some of the poeple that will be developing testscripts from my group have version 3.5 and some have version 4.0.  We will be developing the code on our own machines and then integrating the code to the console. Will we run into any problems with the different versions?
Eventually the console will be upgraded to 4.1.  Will we run into problems then when the console is upgraded with all the work we would have done in version 4.0, 3.5 and 3.1?
We have the same problems with CVI the console will be using version 7.1.1, we have 8.6 and 8.2 at our desks.  Will we see any problems there?

    Dusty,
When you upgrade all of your sequence files should still run as they did in 3.1, but the only way to know for sure is to try it out. If you are planning on upgrading it may be easier to go ahead and try that sooner than later, If you want to develop on a 4.1 system and save down to different versions, as Ray pointed out you will not be able to use features that aren't available in 3.1, so all of your systems' features will be restricted. If you wanted to know what changed between 3.1 and now, here is a quick run-down:
What Is New In TestStand 3.1
What Is New In TestStand 3.5
What Is New In TestStand 4.0
What Is New In TestStand 4.1
If you upgraded your system now, you wouldn't have to worry about using any incompatable features. Since you plan on upgrading in the future, is there any reason you don't want to do it right now? Also, if you plan on keeping this system around, if you stay on our SSP plan, you get every update to TestStand as it comes out in addition to full access to phone support, that way you can upgrade from version to version, and make upgrading easier, rather than having to jump multiple versions at a time.

  • Any way to have two DVD SP projects open at the same time?

    Hi
Since it is likely that I'm going to re-build all the menues in my PAL DVD in a new NTSC project, I'd like to know if there is any way for me to have two separate DVD Studio Pro projects open at the same time. That way I can easily check and copy location coordinates for the buttons, copy text, etc, etc.
When I open my new project when the old still open, DVD SP just closes the old and opens the new project.
If it was possible, it would make everything much easier for me, since I have 15 menues to re-create
    Thanks!
    Natasha
    Mac OS X (10.4.9)

If you just require a visual reference, you can take screen grabs of your first project and open them in Preview...
Open your project, and press Shiftcommand(apple)4 and the pointer turns into a little cross-hair.... you then click-hold & drag a marquee around the section of the screen you need as reference, then when you release the mouse button a screen grab is taken of that portion you selected.
It will be saved to your desktop as 'Picture 1'
you can repeat this for different sections of the project (picture 2, picture 3 etc), and open them in preview.
Not an ideal solution, but might be of help.
