Any compensation for new buyers?

I was ready to buy an iMac after Leopard came out. However, it has been delayed until October after being scheduled for the Spring. I hate to wait, but I also hate to pay rather quickly for an upgrade. So will Apple do any kind of compensation for new buyers?

I don't think I can see your point. They will roll out the new OS when it's really ready (at least we should all hope so). If you've been using any particular product for a while, you should realize that the manufacturer can't guarantee when they will have a viable new product. I get your frustration and the fact that you don't want to put out good money for a product that will be better in a couple weeks, months, or maybe even days. The fact is, Apple will hopefully put out a new OS when it is ready, and there's no way they can know it's ready until it's ready.
I harassed the guy who sold me my first computer with the same sort of reasoning. He responded by saying that there's always a new product around the corner. Looking back, he wanted to sell something that day, but he was also telling the truth.
Bottom line:
Nobody can predict when the next OS will be released. Sure, folks who are developing the next release and reporting to the head honchos will have a better idea than most, but, the head honchos are just paying the guys that write the code who can't say when they will be done.
You want to buy a new computer, buy one. You want the latest and greatest hardware/software, you're just going to have to pay. Even if you buy a Mac tomorrow and get a free 10.5 upgrade 4 months from now, there will be a better mac to run it on.
I understand your question/complaint, but the testing of new technology does not bear out an answer you will want to hear. We don't want Apple to put out an OS that's not ready just because they said it should be reasy on a particular date.

What Compensation for New Lightroom owners?

I just purchased Lightroom 4 less than 2 weeks ago from Amazon and paid $161.96. Now I see they are offering it for $99.00 with a Photoshop CS5 upgrade. I haven't been able to find anything about any compensation for new users to Lightroom.

I chatted with online help about this situation and he gave me a phone number to call. I called the support line and after 30 minutes of going over everything, giving them the serial number, etc. I was told I could return the software to Amazon and call them, Adobe, and have the serial number deactivated. I tried to get through to her that the software was already installed and Amazon wouldn't be accepting it as a returned. I fianlly just gave up and I'll eat the $61.00. Not worth my time to hassel with this company. I just assumed there would be a proceedure for this since they have policies for time periods when a customer has recently bought Photoshop and a new upgrade comes out. It is still early and they may offer some compensation, as I can't be the only person in this situation.
BTW John Waller, I got no deal on the Lightroom I bought. I believe that was full price. The only reason I even thought about asking for some compensation was I had ordered from Amazon less than 2 weeks ago and had actually only received it about a week ago and had not even had time to register it with Adobe.

Pages Templates - any sources for new ones?

Has anyone found a good resource for new Pages templates? It tried iworkcommunity.com, but was wondering if anyone has found others?

There's always mactopia.com. It's Microsoft's site, and the templates were made for Word, but you can import them into Pages.

Any compensation for iPhone 3.0 users

I just recently purchased a 3G iPhone from AT&T in the end of April and they just released the 3GS in June... is there or will there be any type of compensation since there was such poor notification that the 3GS was being released. Because if I would of known that the 3GS was coming out a few weeks later, I would of waited to get the latest version.

No. Why should there be?
Because if I would of known that the 3GS was coming out a few weeks later, I would of waited to get the latest version.
In other words, you didn't bother to do any research. If you had, you would have known that Apple released a phone in June 2007 and a new model in July 2008.

Is there any BAPI for new appraisal module in SAP 4.7 ?

In our company, we are using our own web-ESS Appraisal (employee self service on intranet), developed using Java. So we are using available standard BAPIs to exchange data between web-ESS and SAP.
But I notice for the new APPRAISAL module in SAP 4.7, we cant use the standard old BAPIs anymore. SAP gives hundreds of new function modules related with the appraisal module, but none of them is remote-enabled module or BAPI. So how are we supposed to exchange data using our web-ESS? I dont want to copy all the standard functions just to make it remote-enabled so I can use as a customized BAPI! Any idea?

        There is no function module that can get you the Appraisal Result from OSA in one go.. You have to create a custom function that is a combination of delivered modules.. here os one that I created.. you pass the pernr & get back the rating..this is only for Performance Appraisals.. Any resolution for new macbook air hibernation problem?

I know this problem has started to surface online where the macbook air goes into sleep but doesn't wake and the only option is to hold the power key to reboot.
After having read posts, resetting PRAM and SMC, I still am encountering this issue.
Has anybody found any solution that has worked or is this a machine or software defect?

Best thing to do is call AppleCare 1-800-myapple, and arrange the transfer I think. Report back on result of this too... been a while since someone did this and posted about the experience here. Would like to know how it goes these days.

Data not loading for new Fields InfoObjects from DSO to InfoCube

Hi Gurus -
               I have a DataSource that is providing data to existing DSO then to Infocube. My client asked me to added couple fields to DataSource and get the data to DSO and then DSO to InfoCube.
Here is the Old scenarion:   DataSource -> DSO -> InfoCube.
Here is the New Scenation:
     DataSource ( Added new fields) -> DSO (added new InfoObjects for Corresponding DataSource FIelds) -> InfoCube( Added new InfoObjects to mapped from DSO)
I added the new fields to DataSource, added the corresponding InfoObjects to DSO and InfoCube.
I successfully loaded data from DataSource to DSO. Data is populating for the new Fields/InfoObjects in DSO.
But when I load data from DSO to InfoCube, I don't see any data for New Fields InfoObjects in the InfoCube.
Data from DSO to InfoCube is loading fine for the Old InfoObjects Fields but not for the New InfoObjects I added in InfoCube.

Why dont u debug the load through DTP debugging and check what happens to the source field and target field once it passes through the transformation. You can easily trace back where the fields are becoming blank.
The loads which you have mentioned earlier did it have values in Added Records/Transferred Records column for the cube.

Our client is experiencing the different issue with the latest browsers.
This is one of the error message which they had received: iRecuitment - oracle error 1403:java.sqlSQLException:ORA-01403: from Chrome user - need latest Patch.

A crazy 1-MONTH shipping delay without any compensation!?

So I'm located in CA, preorder an Iphone 6 on Sep.12
They shipped the phone on Sep 20, arrived at Oakland on Sep. 25, then just MISSING.
I didn't get any response for a week until I called them. OK the customer service says she'll fix it by replace the order.
Today I finally got the replace order, and the expected ship date is, guys, <<<Oct 22 to 27>>
That's a RIDICULOUS 1-month delay for a PREORDER customer,
and so far, I DIDN'T get any compensation for this crazy delay except for a simple mail says "oh~sorry~ it's going to be delayed~~~"
That's ridiculous, and make me really really angry.
If that's how a so-called #1 service high-tech company, then this is THE END of my any purchasing on Apple stuff.

Your frustration should be aimed at the shipping carrier, not Apple. Apple has no control of what happens to a parcel once it's handed to the carrier. It's actually quite amazing to me that Apple is replacing it...typically, you'd need to file a claim with UPS/FedEx, etc and it would be their responsibility to reimburse you. So to me, that's above and beyond on Apple's part.
You seem to have a tracking number, since you know when it arrived in Oakland...did you call the shipping carrier to see if they could help trace the lost package?

Got charged full retail for a new phone instead of Edge Up, wiped out bank account, had to refuse shipment, no compensation for the time spent talking to 14 representatives over the phone in the last week, and still no refund??

On 9/29 I ordered an iPhone 6 Plus 128GB as an edge up from my 5S, swiped my card at the store to pay the Edge Up fee, and was told 10/31 was the expected ship date.
Didn't see the order on my My Verizon account, spoke with 3 representatives on the phone to actually get the order number so I could track it.
On 10/24 the ship date disappeared and I called to find out there was an issue with the payment. I gave them my debit card number over the phone for the Edge Up amount, and they charged me full retail -- OVER $1,000.
They promised it wouldn't post to my account and it wouldn't ship after cancelling the order. Next day it shipped. I called FedEx and refused the package over the phone.
I called when the payment posted the next day, totally wiping out my bank account and charging me overdraft fees.
They said they'd push for a refund immediately -- on Sunday, 10/24. It's now 10/30, I see no refund, I have no phone, and I have over $100 in bank fees from their mistake.
I spoke with a supervisor on the phone and they said they could refund the bank fees, but would do nothing for the fact that they screwed up my order, and told me it would be another 2-3 weeks before they actually ship a phone to me if I ordered today.
Sorry, but that's NOT good customer service. I can buy out my Edge agreement, sell the phone on eBay, and go to another carrier pretty easily. I don't want to leave Verizon's service, but I don't really see how they value me as a customer?
Does anyone else have some idea of what I could do about this whole thing??

That situation went from inconvenient to complicated quickly. Wait for any pending orders to drop off, wait for things to clear up, wait till your upgrade comes up and then upgrade when your contract is fulfilled. I would have suggested a replacement phone, I know, with only a month left why couldn't you just upgrade early, but these situations where people try to upgrade early always end horribly and once a phone order starts, it almost cannot finish until something winds up shipped received and returned. Sorry this happened the way it did. Definitely not efficient.

There seems to be a problem, just now, with the USB 3 ports on the new MBP's supporting eternal USB 3 drives. Some people have no luck at all - can't even recognize the drive - and some are reporting USB 2 speeds (those who drives are recognized). I'd call a dealer such as LaCie or OWC to see if they have USB 3 drives that actually work with MBP's with USB 3 ports. You may have to wait for a software/firmware update.
