Any crash report gurus?

CS4  PS 11.0.1    10.5.8
Here's the thread listed as crash'd.  Without cluttering up the forum is there other info in the crash report that is pertinent? I was just moving some layers within PS.
any thoughts on a likely suspect?  is this a common problem ( it is for me ) ?  thx

Yes, it is a common(ish) problem - see here for more on the problem.
In a nutshell - it is a known issue. Adobe say it is underlying code in OSX that does it, and it is not their fault. Apple don't seem to be rushing out a fix for it. Keep sending in the crash reports to Adobe - Chris Cox (adobe engineer and forumite and all-round helpful bloke) says they are looking at them.
Oh, and it was hoped that Snow Leopard might sort it out, but that seems to have its own set of issues and doesn't cure this one either, looking at the reports elsewhere in the forum.

  • Please help save my gig.  Any crash report readers?  Logic 7.2.3

I apologize for starting a new thread on an old post. But I'm pretty sure these recent crashes are not the same as the prior ones.
    Thanks in advance.
    Yet another one.
I'm going to repost. I'm at my wit's end. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'm not one to wear my heart on my sleeve. But I'm halfway through this film. It's been painful with the crashes, the rebuilding ... the work arounds, the bouncing out of instruments to avoid having plug in's before I've really worked out parts ....
I'm about 4 or 5 days behind schedule and I'm going to get fired if I can't find a way to just make music without all these crashes.
    Any help ... please ... ?

Although I cannot rebuild my system with Disk Warrior yet (I think I need the physical disk first) I ran the "check all files and folders" option for my system HD.
I'm afraid to even ask what the disk warrior report means. But here it is .. the bad news:
Disk Warrior revealed the following: (Any thoughts?)
DiskWarrior scanned the disk named "Macintosh HD" checking all files and folders for damage and potential
    compatibility problems.
    Disk: "Macintosh HD"
The Property List data was checked in 6,090 files.
The Resource Data was checked in 6,611 files.
The maximum Folder Depth on this disk is 17. This does not exceed the maximum recommended depth.

Unexpected character '0x0' at line 1
    Location: "Macintosh HD/Users/newlogic/Library/Preferences/"
    Explanations:
Folder Depth: This number indicates how many folders are nested inside each other. If a disk contains only three
folders and Folder A is inside Folder B and Folder B is inside Folder C, then this disk has a maximum folder depth of
three. Folders nested too deeply can cause software compatibility problems.
Property List: This is a standard file format for storing data and is often used to store preferences. The names of
these files normally end with a .plist file extension. Corrupt property list files can cause system instability.
Resource Data: This is an older file format for storing data and was often used to store preferences. The names of
these files normally end with a .rsrc file extension. Corrupt resource data files can cause system instability.

Same thing happens when i click restart.
No difference when i run it in Safe mode. And it won't let me create a new profile either. Is there anyway else i can extract my bookmarks? This is driving me crazy!

Did the crash reporter send any crash reports?<br />
You can see the crash reports in this folder:
    "C:\Users\&lt;user&gt;\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Crash Reports"
    See: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Breakpad
See also [[Firefox crashes when you open it]]
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.<br /><br />
    See [[Basic Troubleshooting#Make_a_new_profile|Basic Troubleshooting&#58; Make a new profile]]<br /><br />
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"<br /><br />
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)<br /><br />
    See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox<br /><br />
If that still causes the same problem then do a clean reinstall and remove the Firefox program folder.
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data when uninstalling.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

  • Firefox crashes every night without a crash report (Since last 3-6 months) Currently using version 23.0.1, Fresh Install, Fresh Profile, No Addons

Every night Firefox crashes without any crash report.
All I get is the Windows dialog that says "Firefox has stopped working" "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program." "Close the program". (If I can upload the screenshot I will).
The websites I was on are intranet only sites, require NO Flash or Java. Two tabs only. The same sites were not crashing in much older versions, appx 6+ months ago.
The only criteria for crashes seems to be the uptime of Firefox. The longer I leave it, the greater the chances of this crash. I have never seen it crash in front of my eyes, always (90%) would have crashed when I unlock the PC in the morning. I leave it running and locked the whole night.
Just a couple of days ago I decided to do a complete clean install of Firefox, i.e.:
Uninstall, Delete Program Files, Delete Profile folder. Reinstall, import bookmarks. That's it.
    Hardware Acceleration has been disabled.
    Provide Telemetry has been enabled.
Crash Reporter is enabled, but doesn't kick in. about:crashes is empty. (Even before re-install there were no recent crashes recorded there).

  • Safari quits by itself, no crash reports show up. How do I make it STOP closing/quitting itself?

Whenever I either close the last Safari window, or leave a few minimized (but not quitting Safari) or play a video in VLC (i.e) Safari seems to have quit itself entirely! I don't get any crash reports or notices about what might have occured, nor any error messages. It is very random, sometimes it just quits when I close the last open window, other times it will close even though I have several windows open, but it mostly seems to be happening when I play videos in fullscreen, and when i exit fullscreen mode Safari has quit itself along with closing all my windows. I've been through the preferences to see if it's been set to behave this way, but I find nothing.
I would really appreciate any help on this, as it is driving me crazy having to start up Safari every time I watch an episode or movie or do anything in fullscreen mode (which, is a pain considering how ridiculously slow it is, with pages not loading, or only half-loading or just seeing that god-awful rainbow-wheel for minutes at a time, and if anybody knows how to solve that last part too, please shout it out!). It even quits itself if I've simply just closed my MBP (not shutting it off), and then when I open it again (whether it is 10 minutes later or 5 hours later) Safari has quit and needs to be restarted/reopened.

The next time you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.
If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.

  • How can I reactivate crash reports for iPad?

Hi, I am not 100% whether to post this question under iTunes or iPad. I will try here first!
I am testing a new app (through test flight) and I used to send crash reports to the developer after syncing the iPad with my computer.  However, I don't get any crash reports anymore since a couple of weeks! And I am very sure I still get crashes (also from other apps). I read I could reactivate crash reports in iTunes by right clicking on the device and reset warnings for the device. I also tried this in <Preferences> in iTunes. It doesn't help, I can't find any crash report back on my computer and am not asked neither whether I would like to start resending crash reports. I really hope somebody can tell me how I can reactivate the crash reports.
    Thanks a lot in advance!

Same problem here and I can't seem to find anything online on how to auto sync crash reports using iTunes.

  • Macbook pro OSX 10.6.8 just froze without crash report

Since yesterday my Mac Book Pro (Late 2011) with Snow Leopard 10.6.8 is crashing and I cannot understand why. Yesterday it didnt' wake up from sleep and I could only see a black screen. When I turned it off and on, I got a black screen again. I have left it off for several minutes and then managed to turn it on. Today it just froze the whole system, and I had to turn it off and on again. But in the Console I cannot find any crash reports relevant for these days. How do I know what is wrong?
    Thanks

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Of course. First, call Apple to get replacement DVDs > http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57 Then, follow these steps:
    1. Insert the Mac OS X Install DVD and hold the C key while your Mac is starting.
    2. Choose your language and go to Utilities menu (on the menu bar) > Disk Utility.
    3. Choose the hard drive at the top of the sidebar, go to Erase tab and erase the drive.
    4. Close Disk Utility and reinstall Mac OS X.
    5. After reinstalling Mac OS X, use the Applications disc to install the iLife applications and open  > Software Update to install the latest version.
Make a backup of your data before erasing your hard drive or your will lose your files. If your Mac didn't come with Snow Leopard, you will go back to Leopard, so if you want to keep Snow Leopard, you have to get Mac OS X Snow Leopard in the Apple Online Store

It is possible that your security software (firewall, anti-virus) blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

  • Any Mozilla product I install crashes at startup. The first window I see when I open a Mozilla product is the crash reporter. I have tried every possible solution but cannot open anything. It started with firefox. Can anyone please help?

Hi there, as the question says, I cannot open any Mozilla product. I have tried to install firefox 3.6, older versions of Firefox, Firefox 4.0, Sea Monkey, Thunder Bird and Sun Bird. I have the same problem everytime. I open any of these programs and the first and the only window that appears is the crash reporter. I've tried opening it in Safe Mode and the same occurs. I have tried entirely uninstalling the products incuding the registry keys but no help. I shall post the detailed error reports, if they help solving this issue. Can you kindly look into this and find a solution as I use all of these Mozilla products and my life has been a hell since they've ben down.

  • Mac Pro Freeze constantly - no kernel panic, no crash reports. Any ideas?

    Dear all,
My good ol' Mac Pro (4.1-2009) which has been utterly reliable for years is now driving me cazy.
It freezes from time to time (let's say twice a day but sometimes not at all for 2 days in a row) - only possible option is hard reboot.
The screen just freezes, no kernel panic, no crash reports.
It has started after a ram replacement but then reverting to the original settings didn't change anything.
Tried all what possible: reverting to original ram (the Apple one), clean install on a new hard drive (10.8.4), replacing graphic card (4870 to 5770), Zap PRAM, resetting SMC, safe mode, clean new account, booting only with keyboard and mouse, Techtool Pro hardware tests-all passed (but not AHT as I can't find the original DVDs anymore), smc fan control, voodoo.
Some apps seem more enthusiastic at crashing than others especially Cinema 4D (when rendering), World of Warcraft (when playing), Photoshop CC (in OGL mode) but sometimes just dropping down a menu causes a freeze.
My eyes are full of tears.
Any idea? Someone had a similar experience?
    I might start drinking.
    Thanks.

  • Can Someone help with this crash report - Any Ideas?

    Hello,
Since OS X 10.4.6 Jedi Knight II Multiplayer crashes. It was perfectly fine before 10.4.6, and I can get it to run under classic. The Single-player app also works perfectly.
The multi-player game will crash when trying to load certain maps.
It generates the following crash report.
    CGFontKey.c:227: failed assertion `id[k].qx <= kCGFontSharedCacheKeyMaxQ'
    Does anyone have any ideas?
I'd like to get this fixed, as I'd rather remove Classic from my system.
    Thanks

    Thanks for the quick reply.
I've cleaned all font caches and have restored all fonts back to their original state. Still no joy. I have the same problem on my G4 at work, but not on my G3 iBook. (The iBook isn't fast enough to run the game adequately though).
I wonder if there was anything specific that changed between 10.4.5 and 10.4.6 that caused this - such as a graphics card update -that would cause this. I've tried e-mailing the game developer, but no joy from them.
    Thanks for the suggestion though.

  • My firefox 4 crashes very frequently almost once every time i use it. I didn't have this problem while using firefox 3.6. I have sent many crash reports but was never contacted about them. I didn't find any specific cause of these crashes. Kindly help!

There is no particular pattern of freezes. It may happen any time whether there are any number of active tabs 2,3,4 what ever. I didn't get signatures for some of my crash reports for the reason that the active cause of crash couldn't be identified. I have added some crash I.D's as well.

If the triangle is pointing to the right, click it so that it points down. You'll see a list of crash reports. The name of each report starts with the name of the process, and ends with ".crash". Select the most recent report related to the process in question. The contents of the report will appear on the right. Use copy and paste to post the entire contents—the text, not a screenshot.
I know the report is long, maybe several hundred lines. Please post all of it anyway.
If you don't see any reports listed, but you know there was a crash, you may have chosen Diagnostic and Usage Messages from the log list. Choose DIAGNOSTIC AND USAGE INFORMATION instead.
In the interest of privacy, I suggest that, before posting, you edit out the “Anonymous UUID,” a long string of letters, numbers, and dashes in the header of the report, if it’s present (it may not be.)
Please don’t post other kinds of diagnostic report—they're very long and rarely helpful.

    I had this issue. I went to c:\program files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\
I renamed my plugins folder to plugins.old.
It recreated the Plugins folder and all was good again. I have since reinstalled the plugins I've been prompted to install.

  • Firefox will not start and any attempts to do so opens a crash report which neither properly closes nor restarts firefox.

firefox was working this morning but in the afternoon, after i got off a game that did not require use of firefox, firefox would not start. it does not show up in the task manager and typing "firefox.exe -ProfileManager" into the search box opens a crash report which neither restarts firefox nor quits it. further attempts to do the same results in the same crash report.
restarting the computer does not help.
previously, in the past week, firefox has been frequently crashing. however, this afternoon was the first time firefox would not start at all. cannot uninstall firefox as my system provides no response.
