Any difference setting background MRP run in MDBT and SM37

Hello,
Just wander if there is any differences setting up MRP run in MDBT or in SM37 to run RMMRP000?  This is to run MRP at plant level in background.
Thanks,
Lin-Lin

Hi,.
Both MDBT & SM37 are having same program (SAPLBTCH) . MDBT is <b>Foreground</b> job as well as <b>Background job.</b>
SM37 is only for <b>Background job</b> only.
Pls let me know any further clarification.
regards,
Mohan

  • MRP run with MDBT

    Hi all,
    I'm facing a typcial problem
In MDBT -processing key is maintained as NETPL
    There are 3 materials say
    1.A
    2.B
    3.C
For all three materials NETCH is marked in the planning file entry & NETPL is blank in MD21
When i go for MRP run via MDBT then no proposal is raised for A & B,where as for C i'm getting a proposal
All three has requirement -Exected result is Planned order
Initially i thought NETPL is not active in MD21 & that is the reason i'm not getting any proposal
but i'm shocked to see proposal for material C
MRP is run with processing NETPL
Will the material marked for NETCH also be included in the run or only those materials which are marked for NETPL only will be included ?
If yes for 1st question then i feel there is a logical difference
If yes for 2nd question then why should i get proposal for material C?
    Please clarify me

    Hi Vishal,
Thanks for pointing out user exit key,i didnt noticed that,In one the variants user exit key is maintained ,MRP controller selection (CTL)
& user exit paramter also is maintained as 100 in one variant & in another as 001-099,101-500
How is this normally defined? What doen tis mean
In first case(100) does it mean that run only for thos matrials which have MRP controller as "100"
In second case rund for all materials with MRp controller (001-0990 & 101 to 500 I'm not usre on this
If yes pls let me know where we define this whole thing
Like MRP controller selection is defined as CTL -but what does it mean, where are the actual conidtions written
Very basic question may be but i'm not aware fo this, pls let me know
Once again thanks a lot for giving the lead

  • Is there any character set translation facility between the database and th

We are upgrading a character based SQLforms version 3 application to forms6i running over the web against a 9.02 database.
Is there any character set translation facility between the database and the Forms server / web browser?
Our database character set is NEE..P4 (North European). However, the user needs to see the data in the BLT..P13 (Baltic) character set.
In the old application, users accessed these forms through a telnet client and this did the translation. For example :
    The database character :
     (Unicode hex value = 00D0)
would be translated by and displayed on the telnet client as :
     (Unicode hex value = 0160)
A colleague of mine has done some experimenting. By changing the NLS_LANG registry setting to BLT..P13 in his oracle home and loading the Baltic character set for his Windows 2000 environment, he has been able to achieve the same translation in SQLPLUS.
However, we have been unable to do the same in a forms web runtime.

Oracle automatically translates characters between the display CharacterSet and the database characterset
    The statement
In the old application, users accessed these forms through a telnet client and this did the translation
worries me a little because it implies that the data you have stored in the database might not actually encode the characters that you think you've put in.
This aside you need to set you NLS_LANG parameter on the application server for the client side character set - if you are using the forms listener servlet architecture then this would be set in the default.env file.

  • Background MRP Run Some times Planned orders are not generating.

    Dear All,
We run MRP in the background at plant level once in a month. Some time we do not get planned order for the material in MD04. Than we run MRP (Selected material only) manually through MD01 considering MRP control parameter 13132.Than only we get planned order. Plesae let me know why it happens? Please give your comments on this.
    Thanks & Regards
    Kundan Kumar

    Dear Kundan Kumar,
First check the output list or the results of MRP run in SM37,find out for how many materials it has
throwned out error,I hope in this list you can find out the materials.
Then the next step you have to check once again the material master settings.
Instead of running in MD02,first check whether was there any issue in master data,or if this happening
repeatedly for the same materials and work around.

  • Unfirmed purchase reqs not getting cancelled in the background MRP run

    Good morning,
The system has created Purchase requisitions for 2010 due to the setting in the MRP run. we want to change it to planned orders outside the Vendor lead time and when i run a REGEN MRP with setting 2 (Purchase requisitions in opening period) its not happening. When i run indivudual MRP with MD03 with the same setting its alright, purchase requisitions are deleted and its converted into Planned orders. Can anyone please throw some light on to make backgrouond MRP run delete the Purchase requisition and create planned orders.

    Jags,
You must delete the offensive PRs first.  Regardless of the MRP settings, MRP will still decide that the PRs are valid and will leave them alone.  It will not 'change' them into planned orders.
Run Regenerative MRP with your new settings (Create purchase reqs as '2') but also run your MRP in planning mode '3', delete and recreate planning data.  It will delete all existing unfixed purchase requisitions, and then run MRP.

  • Parallel MRP run for Internally and Externally procured materials

    Hello all,
we want to run MRP with different settings for externally procured materials (create purchase Requisition) and internally produced materials. The choices provided my MRP run is either create planed order or Requisitions when run background. Is the activation of user exit M61X0001 the solution to this issue?  I can recall that we had done this is some project in the past, not 100% sure to be sincere. Can anyone help on this?
    Thank you for any help.

you are right, this is the user exit that can be used to control this.

  • During MRP run unwanted plant and storage location include and exclude

    Hi There,
During MRP run how to include and exclude the unwanted plant and storage location pls let me know the required configuration settings.
    Thanks in advance.

    HI,
To control whether a particular storage location will be included or excluded from the MRP run.  (MD02/MD41).
To exclude it from MRP run :-
OMIR - Define storage location MRP per plant
Put the MRP ind. as.         1 - storage location stock excluded for MRP
To include it from MRP run:-
OMIR - Define storage location MRP per plant
Put the MRP ind. as.      space - storage location stock also planned at plant level and save it
Next go to transaction MM01 - tick only view MRP 2
Key in Plant and Storage Location
Look at the Storage Location MRP section
change the SLoc MRP indicator to space  and save it
MMD1 - Create MRP Profile - MRP profile is a useful entry aid and makes it easier to manage MRP data.
You define which fields are filled with values when MRP data is entered in the material master record, which of these values can be overwritten and which not.   You use the information stored in a profile is standard information that is needed again and again in similar constellations when material master records are maintained.

  • MRP run details(date and time when MRP was run)

    Hello,
I need time stamps of all MRP/MPS run for a particular material. Please let me know relevant T.code/FM/BADI.

    Dear
One more way to find this is using Transection Code AUT10.
Here you can find not only Last MRP date but some other useful data also like user, date ,time and so many.
Try it by using T.Code like MD01, MD02, MD40 etc.
Or goto se16-SAP Table MDKP-Here you will get MRP run details
    Hope this helps

  • Creating purchase requisitions instead of planned orders after MRP run in MDBT

When running regenerative planning in MDBT for plant with following details ,The system has to provides planned orders for the materials .
    Processing key:NEUPL
    Create Purchase requisition :3
    Schedule lines:3
    Create MRP list:1
    Planning Mode:1
    Scheduling :1
But sometimes it provides purchase requisitions for certain materials. The problem happens for different materials at different times.
I checked the material master and found that procurement type is external procurement.Business need to create planned order for the materials and then want to convert it to purchase requisition.
MRP group is assigned to the materials but no creation indicator maintained for the MRP group.
Please tell me why this run creates purchase requisitions suddenly and in the next run it disappears?

    Hello
Maybe someonelse is running MRP in another transaction, such as MD02, with a different parameter. Check on transaction MD05 when was the last MRP execution and the user that ran it.
Also check if there is any active implementation of BAdI MD_MRP_PARAMETERS.
If you don't have a cretion indicator, maybe it would be useful to set it for your MRP group, with the parameter 3, in order to make sure that planned orders will be created.

  • Why may any user leave background processes running at will?

    Hi all,
yesterday, I encountered a rather strange problem with linux in common, at least
    I think so.
In my .xinitrc, I'm starting offlineimap - a console-based mail synchronization
tool - in the background. Being naive, I expected it to be killed along with the
gui applications started in that file. Yet, that assumption proved wrong and I
started asking for help on how to kill that process on #archlinux.
The guys there (again, thanks for your help and patience!) all came up with
plenty of ideas on how to avoid starting more than once instance of the program,
but that wasn't really what I was looking for. The only usable option came from
anrxc, who suggested killing the program from awesome's logout hooks.
Not fully satisfied with the solutions, I started thinking and came up with the
    following question:
Why is every user allowed to leave background processes on the machine
just as he pleases, even if he logs out?
I even tried this over ssh, where the launched commands have some sort of
"parent" process, but even in this circumstance it was possbible to leave
background processes behind after logging out.
I mean, on my desktop system, this is not a big issue... I shut it down once
every day at the least and there are no users on it besides my girlfriend and
me. But this seems like a fundamental problem to me. Why is this allowed at all?
Does it make sense to do it that way? What are the consequences?
    Let's discuss!

JohannesSM64 wrote:Really, you need to find a better way to manage offlineimap than starting it in xinitrc. Automatically killing any background processes on any logout will not make linux better.
Hmm... to me, .xinitrc is the place to start apps which should live just as long
as the graphical user login lasts. On #archlinux, several other places were
discussed, but none of them were "the thing":
    .bashrc
Doesn't work, because a) the process would only get started when I open a shell,
not when I log in and b) because finding a place to stop the process would be
    even harder.
    .bash-profile
Only gets executed for a login shell, which I wouldn't account for a graphical
    login at all.
wm startup script (in this case awesome's rc.lua)
Possbile, but not much better. Would fork the process all the same, merely
moving the problem. If X got killed, not even awesome's logout hooks would
    apply.
Also, this approach isn't wm-agnostic, so trying out / switching to another wm
would have the problem occur all over again.
So what do you suggest? Do you have a good idea?

As to the question of "why" things act this way:
I believe this is linux display it's heritage as a mulit-user operating system that people used terminals to log into to run program on.  A big place where unix used to be (and is, to some degree, still used) was in universities where a professor or graduate student might have logged onto the system to run some program to process some large set of data.  You wouldn't want to sit around and wait for this program to finish; you'd want to run it in the background, leave, and come back and look at the results a week later, when the program finished running.  One of my friends doing applied math research still does this sort of thing.  I'd imagine it's relatively common.
Process management was largely handled be systems administrators, and commonly you were being billed for CPU time, so it was in your interest not to leave programs that you didn't want to run running when you logged out.
Hmmm... that seems like a rational explanation. But in the case that is the
reason for linux' behavior: Why isn't there some kind of a mode setting? Like
one which allows any user to keep processes alive and another one that doesn't?

  • MRP Run in MD01 and MD03 is different

    Dears,
I am new to MRP processes. Maybe the problem is trivial maybe not.
We have a 9 000 spare parts and would like to use a limited MRP to help operators to know which number of spare parts is coming to shortage.
I set material master and made some settings in customizing for the plant I use.
After that I choose one material which stock is below reorder point.
I run MD03 and system works fine - it creates a planned order.
However when I run MD01 (or se38 ->RMMRP000) with the same parameters as for MD03 , the system creates nothing. Only telling that MRP was run and which parameters I choose.
I run MD16 to see maybe there are some planned order that system created and did not tell me, but nothing as well.
Only MD03 works if I choose the material. However, collective run MD01 is not working.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Zhargal,
Could you pls provide some more info on MRP control parameters you use while running MRP with MD01?

  • Any difference between the RAM for 1.83GHz and 2.0 GHz Macbook Pro?

    Hi all,
I want to upgrade my 2.0GHz Core Duo MacBook Pro to 2GB of RAM. So far Crucial.com is my choice however I've noticed the difference in price (due to sale) for the 1.83GHz MBP and the 2.0GHz MBP:
    http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.asp?mtbpoid=8698C1B9A5CA7304
    http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.asp?mtbpoid=B8539EC6A5CA7304
Could you guys confirm there is actuall no difference between the two memory models, and it's just a marketing ploy on Crucial's part?
    Thanks,
    Eric

The prices indicated on both links are the same. However, the answer to your question is that all MacBooks, MacBook Pros, Intel Minis, and Intel iMacs all use the same type and spec RAM. You will find the appropriate information in the computer's User Guide. It's also described in the Apple guide on how to install the RAM.

  • Are there any differences between 64-bit / 4.7 sdk and 32-bit 4.6 sdk?

I presume the answer is no, but I need to be sure before copying across (and then deleting) the SDKs directory from 4.6.
EG: I have a 64-bit laptop that I have just upgraded to 4.7 premium and I want to move my entire collection of SDKs across so as to support the range of legacy products I have with different customers.
Will I encounter any issues or difficulties with simply copying the directory across from C:\programme files (x86)\adobe\adobe flash builder 4.6\sdks to C:\programme files\adobe\adobe flash builder 4.7\sdks ?
    Cheers,

  • Any difference between the javabean written by java and j#?

    can anyone offer some ideas?

If you are using J# then you are in Microsoft JVM and unless you go back to the documents and only use what was avaialbe in java 1, upto like 1.1_8 or how ever they identified the versions then, you will have compatibility problems. Microsoft has put "enhauncements" into thier JVM and Sun has continued to improve theirs and they are not the same (that is part of what the lawsuite was over). So if you are developing in J#, get ready for some incompatability issues.
