Any donations software apps for OS X?

Im sorry, I didnt know where else to post this, but my church is thinking of switching to Macs. They currently use a program called Membership Plus to keep records of donations/offerings/etc. for tax purposes and such. I need to find a Mac equivalent in order to convince them to go with the Mac.
Any suggestions?

Great choice in switching to Mac.
I know that Intuit makes Quickbooks for Mac, a Finnacial software for small businesses. It might work for your churhc, although I could be wrong. Best to wait and see what other people have to say about this Thread.
Correct me if I'm wrong.

I was wondering if there is any top free app for cleaning up ...
There is no such thing, since the problems you are describing can have various causes. Seeking anything claiming to "clean" your Mac is asking for trouble, since all of those products are scams, whether they are "free" or not.
If you are having trouble with your Mac, describe what it is. Be as specific as possible. For general recommendations read below.
There will always be threats to your information security associated with using any Internet - connected communications tool:
You can mitigate those threats by following commonsense practices
Delegating that responsibility to software is an ineffective defense
Assuming that any product will protect you from those threats is a hazardous attitude that is likely to result in neglecting point #1 above.
OS X already includes everything it needs to protect itself from viruses and malware. Keep it that way with software updates from Apple.
A much better question is "how should I protect my Mac":
Never install any product that claims to "clean up", "speed up", "optimize", "boost" or "accelerate" your Mac; to "wash" it, "tune" it, or to make it "shiny". Those claims are absurd.Such products are very aggressively marketed. They are all scams.
Never install pirated or "cracked" software, software obtained from dubious websites, or other questionable sources.
Illegally obtained software is almost certain to contain malware.
"Questionable sources" include but are not limited to spontaneously appearing web pages or popups, download hosting sites such as C net dot com, Softonic dot com, Soft pedia dot com, Download dot com, Mac Update dot com, or any other site whose revenue is primarily derived from junk product advertisements.
If you need to install software that isn't available from the Mac App Store, obtain it only from legitimate sources authorized by the software's developer.
Don’t supply your password in response to a popup window requesting it, unless you know what it is and the reason your credentials are required.
Don’t open email attachments from email addresses that you do not recognize, or click links contained in an email:
Most of these are scams that direct you to fraudulent sites that attempt to convince you to disclose personal information.
Such "phishing" attempts are the 21st century equivalent of a social exploit that has existed since the dawn of civilization. Don’t fall for it.
Apple will never ask you to reveal personal information in an email. If you receive an unexpected email from Apple saying your account will be closed unless you take immediate action, just ignore it. If your iCloud, iTunes, or App Store account becomes disabled for valid reasons, you will know when you try to buy something or log in to this support site, and are unable to.
Don’t install browser extensions unless you understand their purpose:Go to the Safari menu > Preferences > Extensions. If you see any extensions that you do not recognize or understand, simply click the Uninstall button and they will be gone.
Don’t install Java unless you are certain that you need it:
Java, a non-Apple product, is a potential vector for malware. If you are required to use Java, be mindful of that possibility.
Java can be disabled in System Preferences.
Despite its name JavaScript is unrelated to Java. No malware can infect your Mac through JavaScript. It’s OK to leave it enabled.
The same precaution applies to Adobe Flash Player. Newly discovered Flash vulnerabilities appear almost weekly.
Beware spontaneous popups: Safari menu > Preferences > Security > check "Block popup windows".
Popup windows are useful and required for some websites, but unsolicited popups are commonly used to deceive people into installing unwanted software they would never intentionally install.
Popups themselves cannot infect your Mac, but many contain resource-hungry code that will slow down Internet browsing.
If you ever receive a popup window indicating that your Mac is infected with some ick or that you won some prize, it is 100% fraudulent. Ignore it.
The same goes for a spontaneously appearing dialog insisting that you upgrade your video player right this instant. Such popups are frequently associated with sites that promise to deliver "free" movies or other copyrighted content that is not normally "free".
The more insistent it is that you upgrade or install something, the more likely it is to be a scam. Close the window or tab and forget it.
Ignore hyperventilating popular media outlets that thrive by promoting fear and discord with entertainment products arrogantly presented as "news". Learn what real threats actually exist and how to arm yourself against them:
The most serious threat to your data security is phishing. Most of these attempts are pathetic and are easily recognized, but that hasn't stopped prominent public figures from recently succumbing to this age-old scam.
OS X viruses do not exist, but intentionally malicious or poorly written code, created by either nefarious or inept individuals, is nothing new.
Never install something without first knowing what it is, what it does, how it works, and how to get rid of it when you don’t want it any more.
If you elect to use "anti-virus" software, familiarize yourself with its limitations and potential to cause adverse effects, and apply the principle immediately preceding this one.
Most such utilities will only slow down and destabilize your Mac while they look for viruses that do not exist, conveying no benefit whatsoever - other than to make you "feel good" about security, when you should actually be exercising sound judgment, derived from accurate knowledge, based on verifiable facts.
Do install updates from Apple as they become available. No one knows more about Macs and how to protect them than the company that builds them.
Summary: Use common sense and caution when you use your Mac, just like you would in any social context. There is no product, utility, or magic talisman that can protect you from all the evils of mankind.

There is program in the App Store called Bookpedia that seems tailor-made for your situation.

Bento is another easy to use database solution.
Or GoogleDocs has a spreadsheet application, free online, although not really specific to your application.
If you really are using OS8.6, as your signature states, you may look for an old version of FileMaker on eBay.

  • Are there any iPhone 4 Apps for viewing Numbers Documents?

I'm wondering if there is any apps for the iPhone 4 which will allow me to view/read Apple Numbers files/documents? I have one for the iPad but was wondering if there is something similar for the iPhone...
    Thanks in advance...

    Jasdelta,
As you can see the choices are many and varied. Read the reviews for additional advice. Choose a free App for evaluation. Then you can buy the upgrade if you are satisfied.
I have only added GPSLite, and GPS Drive to my mobile devices...both have the capability to enter Lat/Long.
Apple Maps is my preferred iOS Maps App. I use a Garmin Rhino out in the field, and a built in Nav system for my auto when on the road. If you are interested, Geocaching has an excellent App.

  • Is there any upcoming software updates for the version 10.5.8? Also how do I backup my mac?

I really want to update my mac to the new version of Snow Leopard or Lion but to my understanding I must buy the disks to update it. However I feel like buying a macbook pro to my replace my mid-2009 white macbook, once I graduate so I could use it for college (which is 2 years from now and I'm saving up for it).
Also how do I backup my mac (hardrive)? I'm quite lost. I'm told that I must use Time Machine, but how? Do I use a CD to back up? Some external drive and if yes where could I buy one?
P.S. I'm a newbie with tech stuff. I'm no genius with it so I suggest to take it slow with me. PLUS there's no Apple Store here to help me out.
    My quetions in a nutshell:
    1) Upcoming software updates? *secretly wishes they were FREE*
    2) Backing up my hardrive?
    My Mac
      - Version 10.5.8 with a 2.13 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo

    The 2.13Ghz MacBook is a Mid 2009 model 5,2 http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/macbook/specs/macbook-core-2-duo-2.13-whit e-13-mid-2009-nvidia-specs.html
There will be no updates for 10.5. it's been out of production for 3 years. You can order a Snow Leopard 10.6 install disk for $29 as long as you have at least 1gb of RAM and 5gb of free space on your hard drive.  http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
You can upgrade from 10.5 to 10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.5 should run under10.6. See this list for compatibility with 10.6: http://snowleopard.wikidot.com/  You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... And you will have to install Rosetta if you have any third party Power PC applications http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/snow_leopard_installing_rosetta/
To upgrade your iLife and iWork. If you only want iPhoto or other single apps from iLife '11 you can get them from the App Store after you've upgraded to 10.6.6. iPhoto, iMovie or Garage Band for $15 each and Pages, Keynote or Numbers from iWork '09 for $20 each.
You can upgrade from 10.4 to 10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.4 should run under10.6.
Once you are at 10.6.8 you can buy Lion for $29 from the App Store. Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly. As for third party programs see this list for compatibility with 10.7 http://roaringapps.com/apps:table Also Lion doesn't run any Power PC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under Kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need the application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With 10.7 Lion Apple dropped all support for Power PC applications.

  • Is there any database software available for the Mac?

I want to create a database of my book collection but find nothing in iWork that will do this.  Is there a solution or is there some software I could buy that would work on my iMac?

  • Are there any third party apps for Mavericks outside the Apple store?

I am looking for a way to highlight / color code the full file or folder name. Mavericks changed my color codes to small dots, worthless.  Are there still such things as "helper" apps or "plug-ins" that change the way finder behaves, or has Apple locked down Mavericks such that only approved apps from the App Store at iTunes are what is available?

    Take a look at PathFinder
...has Apple locked down Mavericks such that only approved apps from the App Store at iTunes are what is available?
You can install any Apps you want from Any sources.  You may get a one time message that the App is from an unidentified developer, but just click ok, and you won't get the message again

  • Is there any docunent scanner app for Firefox OS?

Badly need a document scanner app. But cannot find at marketplace.

    Take a look at …
    http://alternativeto.net/software/readquick/?platform=mac
It will give you ideas for other similar software to 'readquick'. Just be sure to go to the developers site, some download sites add junk to application installers to get ad revenue, get it from the developer (or the App Store) when you can.

  • Any chinese input app for 8310?

i've been searching for one.  googled this problem, and got linked to a forum that suggested to dl the latest 4.2.2.338 OS.  i downloaded that onto my computer and installed it.  and nothing works.  any help?

Mine is an 8320, however when you dowloaded the software did you download the HANDHELD SOFTWARE 8310 or the option further down for CURVE 8310?
I always download the version further down the list and also install the latest Desktop Manager.  As soon as they are installed and you open the APPLICATION LOADER, it should prompt you to install all the new updates.
Or have you already crossed this bridge?
