Any easy way to mark items (many) as read? Seems odd you have to check 100 little boxes

Looking for easy way to mark ALL items as read or mark ALL items to delete. Checking a million circles is lame.

Lame as it may seem, that's how it works in iOS land.  If you have the same mailboxes on your computer and if they're set up as IMAP or Exchange, you can go on your home computer and mark them as read and by virtue of being exchange, they will show as read on your iPad.

  • Mark Clip - X shortcut doesn't work for some reason. Is there an easy way to mark a clip without going into Source Monitor?

    Hi guys,
I'm using Premiere Pro CC on Windows 8.1 Pro. The Mark Clip function - X shortcut key by default doesn't seem to work.
I know that if I go into Source Monitor I can mark the clip in there but WHY ? In the old day of CS5.5 I can mark a clip (not timeline) as quick indicator for frame / sound issue of a particular clip. One key press and I'm done.
So, is there an easy way to mark a clip in Premiere Pro CC without going into Source Monitor?
    Cheers!

Hi Mark and everyone looking to find the answer,
After experimenting, I figured out the answer. This applies for the latest version of Adobe Premiere Pro CC (as of 01-Sep-2014) ver 8.0.1 (build 21)
Context: You want to add a marker to a specific clip instead of a sequence but you can't seem to do it.
    Why?
        - X key (or Mark Clip as Premiere Pro CC calls it) doesn't add a Marker to a clip. What it does is using the clip you are selecting as reference for Mark In / Out of your current sequence.
        - M key (or Add Marker as Premiere Pro CC calls it) will add a marker to your clip.
       HOWEVER:
If you are not expanding your clip to see the wave form or clip thumbnail, the marker on the clip will not show up. It used to show up in CS5.5!!!!!! Why not in CC!!!?!
It will only add the marker to the clip you are selecting. Track targeting does not matter.
If you don't select any clip, it will add a marker to your sequence.
Example: (This is the same clip and sequence)
How it looks with marker added.
Track targeting does not matter - reference number 1
Current selected clip is is the key - reference number 2
        2.  How it looks with marker added but you can't see
        3.  How it looks if you don't select the clip and hit M
    Hope this help!
    Cheers!

  • Any easy way to approve updates exactly equal to the old Server / WSUS

    Hello,
Did you check the following link:http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/508.how-to-move-wsus-from-one-server-to-another.aspxAlso i found out another site you could check:http://exchangeserverpro.com/how-to-move-wsus-30-to-a-new-server/

    Hallo Experts,
We have a customer with an WSUS Server 2008 (not R2) that is crashing and cannot be migrated. The Server has also lot of file corruptions. There is also no backup from the Server.
The customer has about 62 Departments. Each department has self developed Software. All Security updates have been approved to all. But other updates that made problems are not approved to most of departments. If we will approve all updates one by one exactly equal to the old Server we will need many weeks. Is there any easy way to do this? I don’t think there is a way that we can export a file and import all approved updates to the new 2012 R2 Server?
    Thank you for helping me,

  • Accidentally overwrote all album artwork - any easy way to restore???

I accidentally reset all of my itunes songs album art to a single album image. Aargh! Needless to say, big mistake. Is there any easy way to recover the original art, or is it gone forever??
    Laura.

How did you do that? You might try Fetch Art. From the Read Me:HOW TO USE IT:
In iTunes, select one or more songs, or select a playlist, then choose "Fetch Art" from the iTunes Script menu. The Fetch Art application will start, and attempt to download art for the songs you chose. After art downloading has finished, select one or more of the songs to see what art was found. If you are happy with the art that was found, hit Return to copy the art to iTunes.
You can also copy art to iTunes for every song in the list by choosing "Fetch Art" > "Copy All Art to iTunes," or by hitting command-T. This may take awhile if there are many songs in the list.

    Install NTFS 3G

If you were going to be reading and writing to a NTFS System Partition, you might have to worry about the instability messing up the operating system.  However, you are reading/writing from a non system, backup device so you don't have to worry about screwing up an operating system.
I would still temporarily move my data to another device and reformat the drive for Mac OS X Extended.

Is there any easier way to edit imovie files that have been exported as mov file then added to FCE 4?? As every move I make has to be rendered and takes forever??? Also my recording is going out of focus without me touching the camera, why has this happened any idea what causes this??
    iMovie '08, Mac OS X (10.5.8), FCE 4

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

  • Any Easy Way to pass initial parameters to a VI created with New VI?

In LabVIEW 2010 I can use OpenG's New VI function to create and launch a VI that is built from a template.
Is there any easy way to pass initial parameters from the VI that creates the New VI to the New VI that will be available as soon as the New VI starts?

Check out the Control Value Set invoke node. I personally don't like this node, and tst has got a great suggestion to promote cleaner, less fragile syntax for launching VI's dynamically that require input parameters.

  • Any easier way to set due dates?

By and large, I'm pretty happy with the functionality of iCal, even if it's a bit basic. But setting due dates on to dos and events is very frustrating!
Let's say you add a new to do, then click the due date box. Today's date is filled in, say, 26/08/2007 in my part of the world. I want to schedule the to do for next month. To change it you click on the day part, enter a number (say, 08), then tab or click on the month part. At this time the iCal display jumps to 08/08/2007 (in the past!). Now I get to manually type in the new month, 9, and press Return or tab and things are good again. It's all kind of long-winded and messy. What's sorely needed is a drop-down calendar picker, or the ability to click on the existing calendar at the left to pick a date.
Does anyone know of any easier way to enter due dates? I've even looked for external programs that handle to do functionality, but can't find any that automatically sync changes to iCal for syncing to my Palm Treo. Anyone know if iCal in Leopard is any better in this regard?
    Thanks in advance!

I couldn't agree more. I can't believe that this has escaped Apple for so long, and didn't even make it into Leopard. Let's say its the middle of November and I want to schedule a to-do due date for the end of the week, say Friday, second week of December. I do this all the time. Sorry, but I can't do the math this quickly, so I need to open up a calendar, or scroll down the calendar, then enter the exact date manually.
Just give me a quick pop-up. Travel web sites do this. Now Up To Date in 1992 had drop down calendars. So does Entourage, which is what I use ONLY because of this one glaring pain. Entering due dates, reminders, etc, is just a pain in iCal, and even worse now in Mail.

Depends upon what you mean by 'it failed'. If it's that you are getting a message to contact iTunes Support then no, you will have to contact them (the 48 hours should be the maximum time that it takes for them to reply).

Thanks -- I would like to try this. I do not know how to reach hard drive from old mac to new. Can you help me with this?
There are two ways - you can boot your old Mac in Target Mode (reboot your Mac, and as soon as you hear the startup chime hold down the T key on the keyboard until you see the yellow/orange Firewire logo on screen).  You can then use a FireWire cable to connect your new mac to your old one.  The old Mac hard drive will appear on your new Mac as if it is an external hard drive.
Details on Target Disk Mode:  http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1661
If you don't have a firewire cable but you do have a home network (i.e. both computers can access the Internet at the same time), you can share the hard drive on your old Mac and then connect to it on your new Mac.
Good article on sharing your hard drive:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1549
Finally, if the above doesn't thrill you, you can hook an external drive to your old Mac, copy the mail folder over to it, then connect the external drive to your new Mac and copy it over.  It's two steps, but if you don't have a firewire cable and aren't comfortable with sharing over a network it will work just as well - you just have to wait for the mail folder to copy twice instead of once.
If you get stuck post back!

  • Captivate 6 vid to Premiere Pro CS6 - any easy way?

    Hi gang!
I just upgraded my eLearning Suite 2.5 to 6.  I just don't see any easy way to transfer a video screen capture demo within Captivate 6 into Premiere Pro.   Am I missing something?
I can't find even an AVI export.
What's the best way to take a simple 30 second screen capture "demo" from Captivate 6 into Pre Pro 6 and keep the current screen capture quality?
    Thanks in advance!
    Petey

You can download a fully functional demo of Sony Vegas 12 Pro.  That's what I did.  So far I like it and will be making the switch to Sony Vegas 12 Pro.
They also have Suite version which include HitFilm 2 Ulimate.  This program is like After Effects.  I haven't started playing with that yet.
Also, there is Movie Studio 12 Platinum Visual Effects Suite 2.  That's a mouth full.  Anyhow, it is based on Sony Vegas 12 and it comes with HitFilm 2 Express.  The Express version is a stripped down version of HitFilm 2 Ulimate.  The Express version is still a great program for adding effects.  For some people Movie Studio 12 is all they will need,
Both version, Vegas and Movie Studio, have GPU acceleration which is really nice.
I also just picked up Corel PaintShop Pro X5 Ultimate.  It sells for $69.95 and it can open and save .PSD files.  So I don't have to worry about all of the .PSD files I saved in Photoshop
Right now I have CS5 and CS6.  Premiere CS6 has a lot of bug, the AVCHD spanning clips, slow motion that jitters, caching problem, slower exports, etc.

  • Any easy way to remove floating ads after they appear (i.e., not preventing them)?

Generally ads on web pages don't bother me. So I don't feel strongly to use ad-blocking software to prevent any or all kinds of ads. But I do mind ads that float on web pages because they often block the view.
Although some floating ads allow the user to close them, more pop-ups, or other types of nuisance, may appear after they are closed.
So, Is there any easy way (an add-on, perhaps) to remove the floating ads after they appear, and prevent them from generating more ads or showing themselves again when the page is reloaded?
Maybe something like "CTRL + Alt + left click" applied on the floating ads?
I don't want to disable scripts and Flash.

There are add-ons that do this, but they haven't been updated in a long time, so they might have problems.

I'd sooner recommend Adblock Plus, used as follows:
    # Install Adblock Plus.
    # Click the Adblock Plus toolbar icon and choose Filter Preferences.
    # On the Filter Subscriptions tab, right-click each subscription and choose Delete. Now Adblock Plus isn't blocking anything.
    # Install Element Hiding Helper for Adblock Plus.
    # Now when you want to hide something on a web page, click the Adblock Plus toolbar icon and choose "Select an element to hide".
    # If the web page preview looks acceptable, click the Add Element Hiding Rule button. For advanced usage, see the following pages.

    Hi
Use date format to convert the string to date
    Example:
    String dateString = "Nov 4, 2003 8:14 PM";
    DateFormat format = DateFormat.getDateTimeInstance(DateFormat.MEDIUM, DateFormat.SHORT);
