Any experiences about troubles with ipad 2 after upgraded to IOS7?

Hello everyone! I've read in several blogs and websites warnings about possible problems or slowdowns of IPAD2 after the upgrade to IOS7. Has anybody decided to "challenge" these warnings? If yes, have you have any problems or is everything going ok?

I upgraded to ios7 on my ipad2 (Model MC773LL/A) and was very happy with it despite some minor quirks until the 7.0.2 update. Since then, I can't use the home button. It worked just fine and I was even able to make it work after a couple of resets, but as soon as I open the first app, it no longer works. Since the 7.0.3 update which I expected to fix the problem, I can't even get the home button to work after a reset. This iPad2 is pristine and had been cocooned in my Griffen rubberized case since the day it was unboxed. (yes, I took it out of the case since to make sure it wasn't the cause)
While I can use all the other tricks such as assisted touch or gestures, it just ticks me off that the home button doesn't work any longer. Since I am out of warranty, I don't want to waste my time waiting on line to get them to fix something they broke and being asked to pay for it. The button worked fine until the iOS7 upgrade and there is no reason why it shouldn't work today.
My iPad Mini (Model MD528LL/A) appears to be working just fine with iOS 7.0.2, though a bit slower than when it was 6.1.3. However, it seems that since 7.0.3 broke my iPad2 further, I am hesitant to even consider blowing up my iPad Mini as well. My iPhone 5 is working really well on iOS 7.0.3...thank goodness.
I agree with the many comments about the loss of Steve Jobs... Tim, you better get these thing straightened out or that iPhone 5 will be the last Apple product I purchase. Kwon Oh Yun and Risto Siilasmaa are looking pretty innovative these days!

Trouble with wifi after upgrade to IOS 8

After upgrading my iPad 3 to Ios 8 yesterday I am having trouble of connecting to the internet using the wireless wifi modem on MacBook Pro. The Wifi appears to connect to the iPad but I get a message '"MacBook Pro" is Not Connected to the Internet" when I start the process of connecting to my MacBook. I join anyway but I don't see the WiFi icon on top of my iPad even though I have a tick next to the connection on the settings page. Does anyone have any idea how I get the Wifi working again?

My problem turned out to be that the Sharing app decided to make the newly discovered Thunderbolt Bridge the default device to be used for sharing rather than my USB modem. Changing back to the original setting and everything is working again.

Trouble with activation after upgrading to iOS 7.0

This is ridiculous. Still having trouble with activating my phone after upgrading to iOS 7.0. How does Apple expect us to make / receive phone calls???

It may take a while becuse millions of people are doing it at the same time. Patience young grasshopper. Try restarting the phone and then try activating again. It took mine a good long time before the activation completed successfully

Trouble with BlazeDS after upgrade

I am in the middle of developing an application with Blaze and upgraded my flex builder from 3.1 to 3.2 today. My flex client wont start any more .. I get an exception in ServerConfig.as here..

I solved this problem (finally!) and am recording the issue in the hope it might save someone else some time in the future.
I had actually updated everything to the latest version. So it wasnt a problem with mismatched versions between the sdk and blazeds. The problem is/was actually some change in behaviour in the blaze/sdk code itself.
What I was doing...
In my application I had some global variables as follows..

The constructor of the communication manager looked like...

consumer.subscribe();
The subscribe call is where things came unstuck as I described in the original post. Looking in more details into the code, you see that the LoadConfig fields have not initialized by the SystemManager at the stage that the constructor is called, and this causes the null pointer exception. (If you look in the SystemManager code LoadConfig is initialized directly after the call this ends up initiating the initialization of my application).
My workaround was to recode the subscription setup into a method that is invoked later..

Having trouble with wifi since downloading ios7

I have had this problem on my iPad and iPhone 5 since the update in September. I called apple support numerous times, did all the troubleshooting, and went to the apple store and had both devices replaced under warranty. Nothing fixed the problem.
Then as a last ditch effort I called my internet service provider. Turns out that the ios7 doesn't seem to work on a wpa2 network and needs to be changed to a wep network. The tech did this over the phone and now both devices work normally connecting to my wifi! I am still nervous I'm going to run into more issues but so far so good.

Having troubles with Checkboxes after upgrade from 2 to 3.1.2

For some reason, after I upgraded Apex to 3.1.2, all my screens where I have a checkbox immediately followed by an item, that item is now being automatically moved down to the next line (this used to work fine in 2)?
So, I hadsomething like this
Email Indicator [] Email Description____________________
The problem is that after the upgrade everything looks like:
Email Indicator []
Email Description____________________
I have everything setup right - Email Description has Begin On New Line = No and ...Field = No
Also, Email Indicator has a colspan of 2 (but I've tried every configuration to get this back to the way it was).
Any ideas?

fixed the problem !
Problem description:
All files in "$APACHE_HOME/Apache/images/*" have restricted permissions on filesystem level. They are all set to "-r--r-----" , so copying new files to this folder (and subsequent images/css, images/javascripts) fails.
Problem solution:
- in the "$APACHE_HOME/Apache/images" execute a "chmod -R u+w *" to give write permissions to owner of all files.
- then go to th installation directory of apex and "copy -pR ./images/* $APACHE_HOME/Apache/images".
- Check that there are now new files in the target directory
- Then refresh the browser with "Ctrl-Shit-R" .
-> It works !

Troubles with airport after upgrading to 10.5.7

I have an imac and a macbook. I share my INTERNET from my Ethernet DSL connection on the imac with my macbook using the airport. This used to be easy and simple until I updated to 10.5.7. Now the macbook won´t find the network until I unselect and select again the "share internet" option on the imac. Some times I just can´t find the network no matter what I do. Any idea?

Try trashing your mail preferences:
<YOUR NAME>/Library/Preferences/com.apple.mail.plist
After that, it may be a good idea to do a Repair Disk Permissions:
Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility. Select your hard drive in the left pane, click the first aid tab at the top, then click the Repair Disk Permissions button.

Troubles with passwords after upgrade

Hi, we upgraded the system from 4.6 to ECC 6. and now some of our users have the problems with passwords (login).
We suspect that more users have the same password. Is it possible that in new verision users need to have different passwords?

I would suggest you trash the prefs file so that they get automatically re-built on next launch.

Launch Finder and find the user Library by clicking the Go menu whilst holding down the Optn (alt) key (n.b. the library is hidden until you press the optn key) and inside the Library folder select the preferences folder. Then trash the following files:
com.adobe.PhotoshopElements.plist
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Paths
Adobe Photoshop Elements 12 Settings

Trouble with JOINS after upgrading to MaxDB 7.6

I have recently upgraded from MaxDB 7.5 to 7.6 and now many of my SQL queries are producing weird results. I have figured out that it must have something to do with the JOINS I am using.
For example, I have the following kind of query:
select fp.id , p.name , t.drug
from v_find_patient fp
join t_patient p on fp.patient_id=p.patient_id
join t_therapy t on fp.patient_id=t.patient_id
where fp.center=10500 and t.drug='Cortison'
From my knowledge, the JOINS should now be interpreted as INNER JOINS.
However, when I run this query on MaxDB 7.6, the result is that of a LEFT JOIN.
I.e. as if I wrote:
left join t_therapy t on fp.patient_id=t.patient_id
So the result includes rows such as:
34;Jones;null
What's even stranger: If I use a FULL JOIN, i.e.
full join t_therapy t on fp.patient_id=t.patient_id
I suddenly get the correct result (that of an inner join)
Can anyone help?

How do I restore bookmarks in iBooks on my iPad after upgrading to iOS7? (Note: restore was done from an old iCloud backup)

-All of my iBooks needed to be re-downloaded as a result
-The bookmarks in each iBook disappeared

Yes, if I right click on a profile in the profile manager when I start Firefox it shows me the path to the profile. It is in the AppData\Roaming section.
For the sake of brevity I haven't typed in the full path name, just enough to let you know where I am putting them, I hope.
I put it there. No good.
I just looked at the profile I restored to the AppData\Local section ( it seems Firefox puts a copy there too ) and merged the one that showed the Cache folders which came from my backup disk with the profile of the same name in the Roaming section.
Still no go. No bookmarks showing up. If I click on the profile folder it shows the Cache files etc. are all there but it doesn't do anything.
This has gotten very aggravating. All files seem to be where they should be but it doesn't work.

Apple ID works on macbook pro but not on ipad after upgrade to IOS7

Could you be more specific about "it doesn't work?" Where exactly are you seeing the problem and what exactly is happening?

HT203808 Wrong email for iCloud on ipad after upgrade to iOS7

The iCloud account on my iPad has an old Apple ID. (my iPhone - newer - has the correct one) The email no longer exists - and what I think the password was doesn't work. I followed the steps on the help menu - of signing out of accounts, then resigning in and then tried to delete the account. It continues to ask me for a password linked to the old ID. As the apple ID doesn't exist anymore - nor that email - resetting that password is not an option. That account doesn't show up anywhere to be deleted. Any suggestions on how to get that email/ID deleted?

If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You should then be able to turn off Find My iPhone with your password. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back and change your primary email address and iCloud ID back to the way it was. You will then be able to go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current ID and password to reconnect to your iCloud account.
If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to get them to reset the password for it so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account. You will have to prove your identity to them in order to do so. You can either contact iTunes support for assistance with this (https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html), or contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

Not all photos in iphoto sync to new ipad after upgraded to ios7

If the file format is compatible with the iPad, the photos should sync. The camera will name the files automatically as far as I know and if you never changed the names before - and simply imported the photos into iPhoto, that shouldn't matter.
Deleting the iPod Photo Cache folder seems to work for many, many users with this problem. There is no guarantee that it will work, but it is easy to do and it's harmless since a new photo cache folder will be created when you sync again.

IPad2 unusable after upgrade to ios7 because of keyboard lag

I have a 5-10 second lag after typing any character on my iPad after upgrading to ios7. I've reset it. I've restored it. I've turned off iCloud for data and documents. None of this has solved the problem. Any other ideas? It's impossible to use for anything that requires the keyboard.

Perhaps I did not make myself clear, my apologies for that.
The cover does put it to sleep and wakes it up (as evidenced by the clicking sound), but when it wakes, the screen lock does NOT engage. You know that first screen where it shows the clock real big at the top center and at the bottom center it says to slide to the right? That is the screen that does not work.
That screen will come up if I manually put it to sleep and wake it with the top button, but auto-lock feature is not working.

Any experiences about troubles with ipad 2 after upgraded to IOS7?
