  • 9320 not syncing with Outlook 2003

    Hi,
I've given up trying to get a calendar app that will display calendar and tasks logically like Touch Pro used to when it was possible to register it. Now the problem is my 9320 has stopped syncing with Outlook 2003, first it was tasks, then notes and now calendar items too, so I'm fast running out of a reason to use the thing.
As everything is getting more and more cloud based will it be possible to sync with the new Outlook calendar in Windows Live? Failing that can I make it talk to my offline Outlook calendar?
    Thanks,
    Craig

I don't think so for legacy (it works quite well with BB10)...legacy has a limited set of services with which Calendar/Contact sync can function OTA.

Lacking any further description than you provided (e.g., error messages), I can only suggest this thread:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
    Good luck!

  • Windows 7 -64 bit syncing with Outlook 2003 not working

    Hello all,
    I have a Dell Vostro 1720 (64-bit) with MS-Office 2003 (32-bit), in German language.
My Iphone 3GS (Dutch language) won't sync any contacts or appointments with Outlook 2003. There is no error message, Itunes seems to think everything is OK. Resetting the sync history in Itunes has no effect. Telling Itunes to replace all contacts and calendars has no effect either. I have disabled third-party Outlook COM add-ins (there was a Norton antispam entry there).
Strangely, the syncing of Outlook notes DOES work. As does the syncing of Internet Explorer bookmarks. I am at a loss.
Can anyone PLEASE point me to some help?
    Arthur (the desperate)

In the Windows event log, I see the following error:

Do you have windows mobile device center installed(WMDC)? If not download it from here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/en-us/downloads/microsoft/device-center-download.mspx
Be sure you download the correct version for your PC. If you have 32bit OS or 64bit OS. To find this out, right click on Computer under start and select properties. Near the middle it should say 32bit or 64bit. If you know you have the correct software. Open up the control panel and go to sync settings. Right click on the partnership you have setup and select delete. On your device go to Start-->Programs-->Activesync-->Menu-->Options tap on Windows PC and select Delete. Then once both are done resetup your partnership. But this time uncheck everything. Then once it is done syncing. Go to Mobile device settings and change content sync settings and select Contact. Click save and let it sync. Do the same for calendar, tasks, and notes but leave the last item checked. So when Contacts are done syncing you go and check Calendar and leave Contacts

  • Help- unable to sync with outlook 2003 since update

Since I updated to 1.01.1, I have not been able to sync with outlook 2003.
In trying to find the problem, I went to Outlook-tools- options etc until I got to the box "itunes outlook addin" and checked it as I did when I originally set up the iphone. Somehow it had become unchecked.
I then tried to sync but it didn't work. I went to the "itunes outlook addin box" again and saw it was unchecked. I can't get it to stay checked since I did the firmware update through this computer. Anyone having the same problem? Anyone know how to correct it?

In Outlook, click on Help / About / Disabled Items. Is the iTunes add-in checked there? Uncheck it if it is.

  • Fixing iphone sync with outlook

There are multiple threads about problems snycing iTunes with Outlook (iPad, iPhone etc.).  This affects Outlook calendar and contacts, often creating multiple contact lists and false calendar entires, often pre-fixed "ModGrp" or ModCal".  After multiple tries I think I have figured out what you need to do: here's what worked for me, I hope it works for you.
First the cause.  If your PC/Mac has crashed with Outlook open you probably have bad data in Outlook. Most software is fault-tolerant to this but not iTunes (my seventh software to link to Outlook and the only one not fault tolerant, so I'm certain it's an iTunes problem).  I have written this for solving contact problems with explanation afterwards for calendars (you'll change item 6 and read the footnote).  Read the instructions first so you know what you're about to do.  You will have to rename a folder and delete your iPhones history but otherwise that's about it.
    1)    Download scanpst.exe from Microsoft, instructions are at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/272227.  Print this, you'll need it at step 5
    2)    Close both Outlook and iTunes
    3)    Got to C:\Users\[Your username]\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\
In File Manager use Folder Options from the Tools menu and select Show hiden files and folders from the View Tab, if you can't see this folder
    4)    Rename the folder \SyncServices as \SyncServices.old or something.  Once you have finished you can delete this folder
    5)    Use scanpst.exe (step 1 above) to fix your Outlook file.  Instructions for this are at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/272227 noted above
    6)    When scanpst is complete and has closed, open Outlook and go to your contact list.  Select each ModGrp and hit Delete, then confirm deletion
    7)    Be sure not to delete any contact lists that you want to retain, then close Outlook
    8)    Open iTunes with your iPhone/Pad/iWhatever plugged in to USB and select iPhone/iPad/iWhatever
    9)    Select your iWhatever in the Devices list on the left and select Preferences from the Edit menu at the top
    10)  Click the Devices button in the dialog box and click Reset Snyc History, just in case.  Click OK to close the Dialog Box
    11)  At the top of your iPhone Device window click the Info button (second from the left right at the top)
    12)  Deselect Contacts, Calendars and Mail options so iTunes doesn't sync with Outlook in any way
You'll get a prompt to remove contacts/whatever lists from your iWhatever device.  Choose the Remove Contacts button
    13)  Hit Apply or Sync (bottom right of iTunes).  This should have cleared iTunes of bad ModGrp sync lists and iPhone contacts etc.
Next we'll restore these from Outlook
    14)  Reselect to sync with Outlook Contacts, Calendars and Mail - the options you deselected in step 12.  Hit Apply or Sync
The above should restore all the valid contact and other data from Outlook onto your iPhone etc
    15)  Once sync has completed reopen Outlook and check the bad MdGrp lists have gone.  Unplug iPhone and check you don't have multiple ModGrp lists
I haven't had calender problems but my understanding from posts to this forum is that in step 6 above, you may have to export the appointments calendars from your calendar and then delete the calendar.  It's much more involved than having a contacts list problem.
If you choose to tidy up aftwards, go back to steps 3 and 4 and delete the backup .old folder as iTunes created  a new one when you opened it at step 8.
I have run the above three times now and it works every time.  Since every tenth or so time I open iTunes it causes my PC to lock, usually with Outlook open, so I expect this to be a frequent event.  iTunes is well documented as a digustingly bad piece of software and seems to be the penalty we pay for having an iPhone, which actually works.  Maybe when Apple adopts Flash I'll buy an iPad and double the number of times I have to run it, but not otherwise.  iTunes and Flash are the two main reasons I have not bought a Mac or iPad.
    Have fun.

Hi, to remove dummy '_ModGrp' entries, rather than crashing the 'Suppr' key on your keyboard, you can use this basic VBA macro (launched for instance from Excel).
It will recursively remove all '_ModGrp...' folders
    Sub RemoveFolders_Click()
        Dim oOutlook As Outlook.Application
        Set oOutlook = New Outlook.Application
        Set objNameSpace = oOutlook.GetNamespace("MAPI")
        Call CleanFolders(objNameSpace.Folders)
    End Sub
    Sub CleanFolders(objFolders As Outlook.Folders)
        For i = objFolders.Count To 1 Step -1
            If Left(objFolders(i).Name, 7) = "_ModGrp" Then
                objFolders.Remove( i )
            Else
If Not objFolders(i).Folders Is Nothing Then
                    Call CleanFolders(objFolders(i).Folders)
                End If
            End If
        Next i
    End Sub

  • Nokia 6681 sync with outlook 2003 - issues

After synchronisation of phone with outlook 2003, where there are multiple phone number under single contact some numbers only gets imported into outlook contacts. For example. under one name, I have three office numbers, two home numbers, two mobile numbers. In outlook contacts only two office numbers, one home number and one mobile gets imported. Others are omitted. This means that I do not get 100% complete back up of contacts. In case my handset is destroyed or corrupted I will have only an incomplete contacts list. Further, number under "fax" does not get imported into outlook, but number under Fax (business) only getts imported. How to ensure that fields used in handset and outlook are identical so that during synchronisation 100% import is done

  • Can't setup sync with Outlook 2003

When I try to setup the Blackberry desktop to sync with Outlook calendar, the process works fine and it says I did it, but when I hit "finish," it acts as if I haven't done it yet and asks me to do the setup.  Backup is working fine.  This started when I upgraded a while ago.  I just upgraded to version 6.6.6.43, but that doesn't help.

    Happens to me also!

Take a look at http://kb.palm.com solution id 31167 it addresses the OLERR errors typically with only the calendar being a problem it's one of two things
    1. You have calendar events with no end dates - Give these events end dates
    2. You have events that span past midnight - Have these events end on the first day and then a new event start the second day.

  • Outlook 2003 BB Tour can not sync with outlook No Profiles are showing at Outlook user profile.

Hi!! When the windows to enter the Outlook User profiles it doesn't show any of the profiles that are available at Outlook (2003).  Giving me an error if I just hit next. Having to cancel the configuration.

    Thank you for any help!!!

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
I suggest the following steps (insert plenty of reboots of your PC...not just restarts, but full power down reboots). Also, it is advised that you be logged into the PC on an account with full admin rights. Further, under Vista, use the "Run As Administrator" option for everything.
    1) Remove your device OS update package from your PC (add/remove programs)
    2) Cleanly uninstall the RIM DTM software:
KB02206 How to perform a clean uninstall of BlackBerry Desktop Software
    3) Get a fresh download of the RIM DTM software:
    https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
Choose the version that is newest and (if applicable) compatible with your PIM (if you are synchornizing via USB):
KB12268 Applications supported by BlackBerry Desktop Manager for synchronization
    4) Download (to your PC) a fresh copy of your device OS package from your carrier:
    http://na.blackberry.com/eng/support/downloads/download_sites.jsp
    5) Install DTM to your PC
    6) Install (also to your PC), the device OS package
    7) Start the organizer configuration over:
KB17022 How to configure organizer applications for synchronization using BlackBerry Desktop Manager
Hopefully that will get things going again.
Good luck and let us know!

  • Email type set to work after sync with Outlook 2003

I just spent a while going through my mail contacts on the iPhone setting them all properly - 'home' email if it was a personal address and 'work' if it was their work address. It appears that all email addresses show as 'work' ones when you start out. I just came up and connected the iPhone to the PC for it to update Outlook, and now all the Contact email types are all back to 'work' again on the iPhone.
Does anyone know how to avoid this?
    Thanks,
    Tom

I had this happen to me on numerous occasions. I never was able to figure out where the numbers went to, so I started using google sync which uses PUSH through(Microsoft exchange). Its free and it works well because it always keeps a copy of my contacts on my gmail account. As I add them to my phone they are sync'd and stored in my Gmail contacts. I love it especially when I have to restore my iPhone or something to that nature. All I have to do is put the account info back into my iPhone and two seconds later all my contacts are back on my phone. Plus you do not have to sync your phone with Outlook every time you get a new contact... Hopefully everything works out well for you!!!

  • Unable to sync with outlook 2003 Contacts

I am using curve 9300. I installed blackberry desktop sw and tried to sync my outlook contacts. The sw read all the 745 contacts and asked me to accept or reject. So when I clicked on accept, it just copied 4 items without any contact details and just crashed and gave an error msg "unknown error". I tried to delete those contacts and it's not allowing me to do so without giving any msg. I dont even get a delete msg on the bb. I even tried to press on menu when I go to the contacts and it won't appear on those particular records. I rebooted the pc and the phone and tried again and got "error encountered, error code 0x80040fb3". I even uninstalled the application and tried ver 4 & 5. The result is the same. I am stuck with those records and can't delete them. Further 740 contact that can't have on my blackberry. I appreciate if someone can help. Thanks

    Hi
First of all solve the error message issue, this might help

Then using the following as a guide, please explain again but not in one huge paragraph. Pay attention to your statement
"I even uninstalled the application and tried ver 4 & 5". This could mean a number of very different things.
    Please provide the following

Do you have a Data Plan?
    Geographical location
Operating System Version Menu > Options > About - looks like v5.0.0.681

  • Can't get my N70 to sync with Outlook 2003

Hi I'm running Windows XP with SP2 on Dell D420 Laptop and the N70 is connected via USB. There's no problem there. I can't install application through this connection.
But when I run PC Suite(V6.83.14.1) Sync, I cannot edit the sync settings and nothing happens when I press sync button.
I really want to get my contacts from outlook on the the N70. I'm using the most recent pc suite version.
    Any advice would be appreciated.

you can export outlook's contacts into vCard files. then copy them to the phone via PC Suite.

  • Tour Sync Issues with Outlook 2003 and Error Code 0x8004fceb

Hello, I have a Tour with DM 5.0, which I sync with Outlook 2003 on my laptop running Vista O/S.  I am having a problem deleting items from the Tour that I've previously added via a sync with Outlook.
Some time after syncing, I delete the items from Outlook and then re-sync.  Instead of deleting from BB, the changes dialog box tells me the items are going to be added from the device to Outlook!!!  If I accept changes so that other calendar items will update (from Outlook to BB), Outlook remains fine, but the items do not delete from BB.
Additionally, existing items on BB are duplicated on the BB during sync.  In other words, I have ended up with 7 entries for one appointment on the BB even though there's only one in Outlook.  This primarily happens with recurring appointments.
Lastly, despite all this confusion, the sync ends with Error Code 0x8004fceb; check documentation, which I cannot locate on blackberry.com.
I am set up for two-way sync, future items only.  I even reset to one-way sync from calendar to device to no avail.
    Please help.
    Thank you.

Sorry. I guess I needed to be clearer I have Office SP 2.
I will tell you that I currently running an older version of iTunes (7.3) because that is the only one that syncs.
In the newest version of iTunes (and of course the current one) it does give me the option to sync with outlook.

  • ITune not in sync with outlook...

Hi every one...my firts post here in this forum..
I just got my first ipod (5thG 30gig)and have the latest iTunes installed(v.7.0.2.16)with OS Windows XP SP2.
When i try and sync my contacts and calender from outlook iTunes keeps crashing saying it's encountered a problem and must quit.... I can still use iTunes to load music etc. but as soon as i tic the box for sync with outlook it crashes...
Is there anyone else with the same problem...and more importenly....is there a solution??
I've downloaded "ipodsync" trial version so i do have all the info on my ipod, trial runs out shortly and will need to use iTunes to sync my calender etc. I could buy the product but it would seem uneccesary since iTune is "allegedly" capable of doing the job.
    Please help...!!!!!

I think I may have solved this problem by making sure I don't have conflicts in my Outlook Calendar.
To find conflicts, open Outlook and view your Calendar and set the view to "Active Appointments" (list of current calendar entries) and check that the list doesn't include entries with warnings (a red icon is shown beside the appointment I think). Fix the conflicts and then the Calendar sync might start to work.
I had the same problem as you and then I started experimenting with Outlook macros for exporting in bulk the Calendar. When running my macro against Calendar entries, I came across an error message while debugging that made me clue-in on this problem.
