Any free FTP servers?

I need to publsh my website. Is there any free FTP servers? Help me please!!!

There are lots of them. And they are very easy to find :
     http://www.google.com/search?q=free+webhosting
I use  this one, among others : www.000webhost.com
Here's mine : http://dailynews.webege.com
It offers the same as paid ones.
And note that the world is larger that Host Excellence and GoDaddy. So you may want to search beyond them.
And I don't belong to "Most of us". I'd rather think for myself.

  • Is Apple aware that upgrading to Airport firmware version 7.6.3 disables any internal FTP servers from getting past the router?

I have a ReadyNas that has been working flawlessly for several years which allows for FTP access. The Airport router was working fine with it until upgrading to 7.6.3, where upon nobody (including me) could connect from outside the network. I just reverted back to 7.6.1 and it works fine again. Has anyone else had this issue? Apple need to test their updates before putting them out!

    There are various feedback areas.

  • Free jms servers that can run on windows 95

    hi,
Are there any free jms servers out there that I can install on windows95? most of them seem to be for NT, LINUX, XP etc....
I need to run a few examples that I have downloaded at home on my very old crappy os so that I can get myself familiarised with JMS.
    Many thanks

Most JMS servers are going to be able to run on Windows 95--most are written in Java. If you are looking for a free one see JBoss.org

  • In Dreamweaver CS3, can I save to Test AND Production FTP Servers when I press save the document?

Hi, and thank you for reading this.
I've setup a production and test FTP servers in Dreamweaver CS3. It is either saves to production or test server when I click COMMAND+S (CONTROL on PC), but I'd like teh file to be saved on both simultaneously. Persssing Sync the Servers won't work since the servers are not mine and they a bit different, teh files are not the same. I just would like to be able to save 1 file at a time in both production and server with one click.
I've been searching the Interenet but could not find anything other than basic FTP setup. Any help would be appreaciated. Thanks!
    Anton

Hi John, first of all thank you for replying!
The reason why I would like to have Dreamweaver to save to both servers Test and the Production at the same time is because it would save me a lot of time keeping both servers more or less in sync. I have to keep both Test and Production servers syncronized, but only wihtin a specific content. While I test my design I do use Test server, but then the hassle begins when I am asked to make changes to the content.
For example, I have a content page called books.html. I first built it on a Test server. Then switched to the tab called Remote, connect to the Remote Server, and save it. Very simple.
However, then I need to create 10 more pages, lets call them books1.html, books2.html, and so on. Again sync them with the Remote server.
All is great, but then my boss comes and say, hey there is a mistake on these files: books3, books4, books7, and books8. Please change the text content on those. So, I know the pages are working fine, I just need to update the text on both Test and Remote servers.
So at this point I have to open these 4 files, change the text, then SAVE ALL to Test server. Then, I switch to Remote tab, go back to files press any key and 'Delete' keys so that Dreamweaver would see the change in file so that it would be able to save it. Then again 'SAVE ALL' to the Remote server.
This is happening very OFTEN. It would save me so much time and brain power remembering which files I should sync if I am in a hurry and jump from one project to another, losing track of small changes in files when there are a lot of .html files.
CMS is only in development now so I have to work with what I got. As to regard to backups, I use Time Machine so I am set with that. Plus I use MAMP. So basically I first use MAMP for testing, then upload changes to the Test server with all the BIG databases, and only then to Remote (production) with real Database. However, this is only when I develop new pages, very often I just need to modify what's already has been created. So that's why a feature like Save to BOTH servers (Test and Remote) would make a big difference to me.

  • VS Exp 2013: Unable to create the Web site ... The components for communicating with FTP servers are not installed.

I have MS Visual Studio Express 2013 It has worked fine for many months and then suddenly (I have made no configuration changes or added new programs) when I try to publish I am getting the message:
Unable to create the Web site 'ftp://ftp.xx.xx/xxx.org.uk/www/htdocs'. The components for communicating with FTP servers are not installed.
(I have replaced actual name with x's).
I had a similar problem some months ago and found that saving all files, closing VS 2013 and re-starting the program fixed the problem. This time it has not.
I am at a loss to know how to take this forwards. I do not use IIS.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Michael.

    Hi Michael,
For web site development, so you use the VS2013 express for web, am I right? We have to make sure that it is not the VS version issue.
As you said that it worked well before, did you install other add-ins or tools in your VS IDE like
    Xamarin or others?
Maybe you could disable or remove all add-ins in your VS IDE, test it again.
please also install the VS2013 update 4 in your side.
    Best Regards,
    Jack

  • EA6400: Port forward two Netgear ReadyNAS FTP servers

I have a new EA6400 router with the latest May 2014 firmware. I also have two Netgear ReadyNAS network attached storage devices that are set up as FTP servers. With my old Netgear WNDR3700 with DD-WRT firmware (after the last thunderstorm, may she rest in peace), I could easily set up both with port forwarding and access them outside of my LAN by setting up 4321 and 4311 as ports that translate to 21 and 21 to two different addresses on my network. I have them set up the same way in the EA6400, going into Single Port Forwarding and forwarding 4321 to 21 at 192.168.1.144 and 4311 to 21 at 192.168.1.143, but the EA6400 tells me that I can't use the same port (21). Why not? They're going to different addresses. (Oh I wish I could get DD-WRT on this router!) Is there a way to set up two FTPs on a local network and make them accessible through the EA6400 to an address on the internet?
I have also attempted to disable one of the port forwards and attempted to access the remaining FTP server and have had no success. I have successfully forwarded a port on the EA6400 to my security camera system so I can monitor my home from the internet, so I know the basics of how this is done. I just can't get single port forwarding to work with my NAS FTP servers.
    Any ideas?

I switched the settings around and now the other ReadyNAS is coming up, but the one that used to come up no longer does. I also tried replacing the 10001 with 2121 on both EA6400 and on that particular ReadyNAS because it seemed to be a little more common a number for an alternate FTP port.
So now I have access to the one I couldn't access before and the one I could access before I can no longer access. Of course I can switch them back around again, but I'd like both to work.
Of course one could potentially put the blame on the ReadyNAS as possibly not being able to work FTP off any other protocol than 21 but I have to place blame on the EA6400 router firmware. This worked well under DD-WRT.
Anyone have any more ideas? I appreciate the help.

  • Lookin' for good, easy and free FTP program. Can you help?

I could go searching for a good FTP program on Google but, I thought I just might ask here for people's experience when it comes to FTP programs for Mac.
I wonder if there is any good, easy and free FTP program out there I should go for?
I would really appreciate if you would give me the name and address of the program you recommend.
    Thank you for your time.

The only free FTP program for the Mac that I know of is Cyberduck, you can download it at http://cyberduck.ch/. I have used it and it works great. Fetch is probably the program that most Mac users are using for FTP uploads, but I think it costs around $15.00 after the demo period. Give them both a try and see witch one you like best.

  • Best (hopefully free) FTP program

Have iWeb and need an ftp to upload it to my site at register.com. I have seen a few threads with several names mentioned, and was wondering if there is a free ftp program out there for Mac.
All I need it for is to upload my web pages and that is it. Hence why I dont want to really buy a program, as I do not update the site that much.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks

Free and Best generally do not play well together
Do a google search or go to the Apple download page and search or version tracker or Mac Update - there are lots of self help sources for freeware & shareware information
I personally like Transmit and feel that it is worth the small price - Cute FTP and Fetch are good - I used to use them (Cute FTP may have been in PC days - not sure)

  • FTP-client behind RRAS - unable to connect to external FTP servers

FTP-client behind RRAS - unable to connect to external FTP servers
A small network (10-20PCs) without any segmentation - one LAN with one Gateway.
    1. If the Gateway is some small hardware device, there are not any problems to make FTP-connections from LAN to Internet FTP-servers
    2. If the Gateway is Win2003+RRAS+NAT or Win2003+ISA2005, there are not any problems to make FTP-connections from LAN to Internet FTP-servers
    3. But if the gateway is Win2008+RAS+NAT or Win2012+RRAS+NAT, the computers in the LAN are not able to connect to Internet FTP-servers
    I made a few tests:
    1. On Win2012+RRAS+NAT
TurnOff Windows Firewall for All profiles (Domain, Private, Public) - the problem disappears, it it possible to connect to external Internet FTP-servers.
    2. On Win2012+RRAS+NAT
TurnOff Windows Firewall only for Domain profile - the problem disappears, it it possible to connect to Internet FTP-servers.
    3. On Win2012+RRAS+NAT
TurnOn Windows Firewall for All profiles (Domain, Private, Public)
But I excluded the Internal NIC in this list
Windows Firewall / Properties / Domain Profile / Protected network connections
    and the problem disappears again
    My question is:
What new Firewall rule  I have to make and where to place it (to be able to make FTP-connection from LAN to Internet FTP-servers)?
I made some attempts to allow port21, but any success.

Thank you, but did you try this ?
Can you describe in detail "exclusion rule for FTP traffic" ?!
In my previous post, I want to say that if you use Win 2008/2012 RAS+NAT as a network gateway, than it is not possible to make FTP-connections to external FTP servers from the computers behind that gateway.
And the standard attempts to make "Allow"-rules for port 21 in the gateway firewall (Win 2008/2012), do not solve the problem.
No matter which FTP-client you can try to use.
To see this problem, just make few simple tests:
    ">telnet <ftp-server> 21"
with firewall on/off  and inbound/outbound "Allow port 21 rule (All/Domain/Private/Public)"
In my country, the Government Tax Department uses FTP-protocol to collect monthly data from companies.
And it is too stupid scenario (to be a small company and to) upgrade from Win 2003 to a newer 2008/2012 and than to not be able to make all your jobs.
    -------EDIT---------
The same problem (and its solution) is described here:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/windowsserver/en-US/0c68aed6-e22b-4cd4-86bd-f3c767e88349/advanced-firewall-blocking-through-ftp-traffic-rras
    The magic command:
">netsh routing ip nat delete ftp"
    solved the problem for me.
And here is the description of this command - "Disables the FTP proxy on the NAT server."

  • Ftp servers and i web '09

Any recommendations for reliable ftp servers that allow easy upload of current mobile me websites created with i web '09? AM transitioning to business use of websites, vs personal

I have used Host Excellence for several years. Their facilities are above average and tech support is good.
I can manage all my domain names and accounts in one place and they send me reminders and auto renew my domain names.
The main advantage to me is that HE allows you to name your own root folder unlike a lot of other services. This solves the problem of those double barreled URLs that people complain about.
GoDaddy is a sort of buzzword in this forum but I find HE suits my style of working better.
    http://www.hostexcellence.com/index.php/v2/pages.packages
Of all the people who use HE on my recommendation, none of them have been disappointed and all of them are pleased with the speed and quality of the tech support.
I have over twenty websites and HE handles them easily and efficiently.
Whatever you choose, make sure you sign up for a Linux platform, don't sacrifice quality for price and NEVER follow the recommendations of those sites that list the Top Ten Best Hosting Services.
I would also recommend the use of an optimizer if you want your site to download in Internet Explorer.
I use and recommend Web Site Maestro. The only other serious contender is WebCrusher which may suit the less technically minded who are willing to sacrifice speed, performance and efficiency for ease of use.

  • Preserving the FTP-servers info before a re-install

    Hello,
I need to re-install CS2. I'm still using this suite for Livemotion2 and Golive CS2.
Before I do the re-install, I would like to preserve the FTP-servers information because for some sites I forgot the password or kept it in safety to good.
Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks on beforehand
    Jan

If i plan to do a re-install of the OS, on the same computer that 'i-tunes' was installed, is it best to de-authorize it first,is there a limit to how often you can de-authorize ?
Best to deauthorize the PC before you re-image it. After you reinstall iTunes, reauthorize the PC. You have up to 5 authorizations to use across your equipment. No need to have one PC suck up 2 of them.
I understand that i can make a data back up of my music to CD or HD, wil the tune import again without any problem.
Providing that you perform it correctly, you can restore your Library to the point of backup when your PC gets re-imaged. See: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=1507270#1507270
If i simply copy the i-tunes folder to another HD before re-install will it re-import okay??
You do not (technically) re-import the backed up data. Just copy it back to the same spot it was in prior to the re-image. See the link above.
IM new to this so excuse me if this has been covered before, which im certain it has :)
No problem. Post back with any questions if you have them.

There is a requirement to develop a Wrapper program, which needs to schedule Background jobs by checking all the available free application servers and assigning it to them.

  • Are there any free apps with the same app iPhoto?

Are there any free apps with the same app iPhoto?

Do you want to get iPhoto for free, or are you looking for supplemental apps that are working well with iPhoto?
I do not know of any free third party replacement for iPhoto. For add-ons browse the Store - there are some nice camera apps, image editors,  and panorama stitchers, some are free (cam wow, pic collage, Photo splash, pixlr-o-matic).
