Any good Leopard-compatible greeting card programs out there?

My wife wants to print the cards herself vs. going through the Apple Print Service. Does anyone know of any good greeting card software out there that works with Leopard? Thanks

Go to > Windows Media Player on the Mac - Flip4Mac, the free version should do it.

  • Looking for a for an all-in-one printer that is compatible with greeting card programs...

looking for a for an all-in-one printer that is compatible with greeting card programs...my original one was an HP PSC  1510...replaced it with a Deskjet 1050 & it does not work...any suggestions?

I bought an epson xp650 a couple of months ago and cannot fault it. It does everything I require and it is the wifi model so I can print directly from my ipad/iphone. Not sure if you are asking about the colour of the unit or just to be able to print black and white, Obviously all printers will print black and white but just to give you a little more info the printer I bought is the white version and it looks really nice sat next to my imac 27''
    Hope this helps.

  • Anyone know of any greeting card program that works with OS  x?

anyone know of any greeting card program that works with OS X?

There is no solution. The Canon UFR2 driver used by the MF series does not work when connected to a Windows share or a wireless print server, including the Airport Extreme or Express. The problem is wholly to do with the way in which Canon has written this driver and therefore the Canon support staff should know this and tell you (although their Mac knowledge in Australia is pitiful and most likely the same in your region).
If you had a model with Ethernet, then you could connect it to the wireless router and print via IP > LPD. But I know that your MF4150 only has USB as I mate of mine had one and he had exactly the same issue on Tiger, which I documented on the Tiger forum and the Airport printing forum.
So, don't waste your money on a print server. Get rid of the Canon and get something that will work for all your OS's. If I can suggest, the safest purchase would be to get a model that supports Postscript. While this does cost more, it will help to avoid any limitations that can occur when using a vendors proprietary printer language, like Canon's UFR2.

  • Can anyone recommend a greeting card program?

I was disappointed to see how limited the selection was of Mac compatible greeting card maker programs. Can anyone recommend a good one for Mac? Or will I have to boot into Windows to run one of my PC greeting card programs?

I tried The Print Shop 2 and believe it would be unusable for a person that is not computer savvy.
Printshop was the only program I installed on my parents' computer when I bought them one for Christmas a few years back. They were in their late 60's and it was the first computer either had used. (My father had Parkinson's and was close to being home bound, my mother has COPD and limited mobility so I thought email would be great for them.) Anyway, learning email was a snap for them - browsing the Internet took months. But both were creating cards and making posters for church in no time flat. Perhaps you give your mother too little credit.

  • Any Patient Tracking Program out there?

Does anyone know if there is any simple patient tracking program out there?
Functions that will be needed is patients demographic information, name ,age, sex, number of times they visited, patient number visits in a single day, as well as a way to bill them and invoice upon visit.

If there is nothing specific you can research FileMaker Pro for any ready made forms they might have that would be similar in nature to what you want.

iMovie projects do not like being zipped. Unless you have the unzipped original you will have to create the project again.
Furthermore there's probably no point in trying to zip it.  Many media formats such as mp3, AAC, mp4, jpeg are already compressed and compressing again just adds overhead (making them bigger) as well as placing them in a format that is hard to recover anything from should something go wrong.

  • How can I get a greeting card program compatible with my MacOS X(10.6.3 ) ?

I have been using PrintExplosion Deluxe for several years now, and used to make beautiful greeting cards. Now, when I try to use it, it crashes, almost immediately and all is lost. I have not reported it before, however, I just try again. I would like to be able to use it again, or is another mac. greeting card maker that would satisfy my needs. I have purchased Print Master from Broderbund but it is too complicated to make the kind of cards I used to use with PrintExplosion Deluxe. How can I get PrintExplosion Deluxe back to where it is working or is there a more compatible version given my model, MacOS status. Thank you.

Contact the developer of the program for help with it. As for alternatives you might try looking at VersionTracker or MacUpdate. For example there's:
    The Print Shop
    Easy Card
which should work with Snow Leopard.

  • Any Better EMail Program Out There for Macs?

I used Eudora as my email program for 10 years and loved it. Unfortunately, it became very buggy on the Snow Leopard operating system. Entire mail boxes got corrupted. So, I had to find a new mail program. I was told that Apple Mail was the best and have been struggling to have it meet my needs for the past few weeks.
Is there any other program available out there that is more like Eudora, but still supported with a new version for Snow Leopard - or at least an be run on this operating system?
    Thanks!

IMHO, Mail is the best. It will take a lot of getting used to for someone migrating from Eudora, though. I used to use Eudora as well, but gave it up years ago in favor of Mail.
Thunderbird will have some features that Mail lacks, but in turn lacks a lot of the polish and some very basic features that Mail has. For example, my wife was trying just two days ago to send a message to a subset of a group defined in Thunderbird's address book, and after ten minutes of both of us trying to figure it out, we finally gave up and she used _pen and paper_ to note the addresses. Doing this would have been trivial in Mail. These sorts of little not-uncommon niggling issues would prevent me from ever using Thunderbird myself.
You could also try [MailSmith|http://www.mailsmith.org>, which was a pretty compelling mail client once upon a time, but which I haven't looked at in many years.

  • Any video tutorials for "Greeting Card Shop?"

Hello.  I just purchased Greeting Card Shop from the Mac App store as a viable alternative to my PC version of The Print Shop.  There are no directions.  Are there any video tutorials for this program (a la "Video Professor")?  Thank you.

There's Mac 101 which contains many short videos on various features. And also Switch 101

  • Leopard-compatible SmartMedia card reader?

Just got a new 2G Mini and all is bliss, except that my old Zio! USB SmartMedia card is orphaned.
Up to date drivers are not available, and the company itself is defunct.
Any compatible devices out there? I know SmartMedia itself is obsolete but my camera still works fine...and I'm cheap.

Similar issues here, but with a SanDisk brand reader on an Intel mac mini running 10.5.2.
Did you have any luck with your new reader?
Thanks in advance for your reply,

    Hi
I am new to the J2ME world. I have to develope a GUI based application on iPAQ4350. But I am not given any ramp up time with awt programming. So I am wondering whether there is any good IDE ( like VB Editor ) with all standard widget ( like button, textfield etc) which I choose and create my GUI.

You can try Sun One Studio Mobile Edition, but even this does not provide you with visual development of GUI like buttons, drag and drop.....This is J2me World honey, learn to be small....

  • I tried to download images from a jump drive and now the jump drive seems blank. How can I recover the images? Is there a software program out there to do this reliably?

I took photographs with my Lumix camera (JPG) and put the sd chip into a jump drive and put them into my usb port to load. The images never loaded and now the sd chip has no images when I put it back into the camera. What can I do to restore the images? Is there Mac compatible software out ther to restore them? I am running a Macbook Pro OS X v 10.7.5. Thanks for your help.

I'm not sure I can help you with this situation. Odds are you probably can't recover the images if they aren't hidden in the card, but this just seems to be a fluke. I've had flash drives that be plugged in only to find out that was their iminant death.

  • URGENT !!! ANY GOOD BOOK FOR JMF - RTP programming ????

Can you propose some books about JMF and RTP/RTCP programming ??
    Thanks in advance !!!

The only JMF books available are "Essential JMF - Java Media Framework" by Rob Gordon (ISBN 0130801046), "Core Java Media Framework" by Linden deCarmo (ISBN 0130115193) and "Programming with the Java Media Framework" by Sean C. Sullivan, et. al. (ISBN 0471251690). All of them are very out-of-date and only cover JMF 1.x (i.e. no audio / video capture and no RTP). All of them were not very good to begin with but "Essential JMF" is probably the better of the three.
