Any good shortcuts to deleting/importing entire albums in iTunes?

I recently had to reset my iPod Touch and now find that on reloading my music much of it is/was on other drives or locations. I now have decided on better housekeeping and will keep all of it in the C:\Music\Albums folder.
When I view my albums in iTunes, most of them visually appear to be okay until I click on a song and the "can't find" message comes up with the question "do you want to manually find" or something like that. After I direct iTunes to the correct location, it is only for that one song. Can I do this for entire albums? One way of course is to delete the album and import the same album from the new location.
Also - and this would be even betteer - is there some way to select multiple albums and re-map them all? Most of the "lost" locations are from an external drive and I want them all to be on the local C:\ drive.
I have about 100 albums to move so shortcuts will help a lot. Should I just delete my entire library and start from scratch?

not sure if you can do this for multiple albums at the same time, but you can use the 'import folder' option from the file menu

Did you remove the entries from your library, or just the physical files?
Delete the entries, close and reopen iTunes, select iTunes Store in the left column, then Purchased in the quick links section. Your missing songs should be listed under Music > Not on his Computer.

  • I recently purchased Foo Fighters Sonic Highways on iTunes.  Where is the album artwork, liner notes and pictures?   When purchasing/downloading entire album on iTunes, do you get this information with the purchase?

The album cover art should show on the album in the Music part of your library. For other pictures and/or notes, does the album description page in the store say that it's an iTunes LP (does it have an LP label against it in the store) ? If not then you will just get the tracks.

  • Can't import an album into iTunes

a very strange thing is happening that i haven't experienced before.  i'm trying to import an album of mp3's into itunes and it simply won't work.
    -drag and drop . . .  doesn't work
    -file-->add to library-->(open) . . .  doesn't work
-right click on specific song and try to play with itunes  . . . doesn't work
-change name of each file slightly and then try to import . . . doesn't work
-airdropped files to my macbook air, tried all of the above . . . doesn't work
-play file in QuickTime . . . DOES work
    any ideas?  I'm stumped
    running iTunes 11.1.5 on iMac

From a terminal, run the following with one of the filenames inserted:
    hexdump <filename> | head -2
If you get this output, then you are seeing the same tag eating problem that has just consumed my entire music collection.
    0000000 49 44 33 02 00 00 00 00 50 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
    0000010 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
For me, good MP3s seem to start with 49 44 33 03, my corrupt ones start with 49 44 33 02.  I noticed it on a few the other day, then today almost all of them have it and won't play in iTunes despite playing fine in Quicktime.
I am at a loss and very frustrated.

I accidentally highlighted about 44 gbs of music in iTunes and deleted them and selected "Move to Trash." Now all this music is in my trashbin and I need to know the easiest and simplest way to get it back into iTunes. I tried copying it to a desktop folder but there isn't enough room on the hd to house them in two locations. Please help!!
don't do anything until you get an external HD. then re-populate iTunes with those files.

  • Any good visualizers for the iPad that work with iTunes?

I have long wanted to hear my iTunes library through my home cinema system and watch the iTunes visualizer at the same time. Current Macs support mirroring on a TV via Apple TV, but mine are too old. I thought I could get around this with an iPad, but iTunes on the iPad does not feature a visualizer, so I'm looking at third party apps.
I'm not too impressed with the App store search facilities though - it doens't seem to find a lot of things I've been told are on there. The Apple store I visited advised me to go this route, but Gravilocity and Light Beams - two I've been told about - don't show up in the searches.
What I need is a good visualizer that I can run as well as iTunes (not as part of it) so that I can mirror this via Apple TV. I am working on the assumption that an iPad can play iTunes content, and allow you to open another software item on top of it? Sorry if that sounds dumb, but I've never used one.
I'm sure there's probably something out there, but thus far I haven't found it.
At present, what do you see on Apple TV when you play anything from iTunes? I understand front row has gone.
If anyone can give me a few pointers to solve this puzzle, I would be most grateful.
    Many thanks in advance.

Wouldn't hold my breath waiting for it. Apple has a distinct preference for everything going through iTunes.
You can look into word processor programs like Documents to Go, which have wifi syncing outside of iTunes, or other online services like Dropbox or others that allow you to upload and download documents, syncing them without going through iTunes.

  • Import vinyl albums into itunes

I have a usb phono plus interface. How do I get the tunes from the vinyl into itunes? Do I need additional software?

I have a usb phono plus interface. How do I get the tunes from the vinyl into itunes? Do I need additional software?
You will need additional software since itunes does not have a feature for recording.
There's been various discussions on this and I suggest you search for "vinyl" or "cassette" in the "Search Discussions" window. If you want to do a good job of this (e.g., split it up into tracks) it can get fairly involved.

  • How can you delete an entire CD in the music library on your phone. It appears that you can only delete song by song.

Since upgrading to iOS 7 we no longer can delete an entire album from the device. Each song must be deleted. Is there any way to have that function back?

From your Album view just give the album a flick to the left and a red Delete button will appear on the right.
