I want to learn about workflow any one can provide the guidence for me
i want to learn about workflow any one can provide the guidance for me
SAP Business Workflow can be used to define business processes that are not yet mapped in the R/3 System. These may be simple release or approval procedures, or more complex business processes such as creating a material master and the associated coordination of the departments involved. SAP Business Workflow is particularly suitable for situations in which work processes have to be run through repeatedly, or situations in which the business process requires the involvement of a large number of agents in a specific sequence.
Features
SAP Business Workflow provides a number of tools for defining and analyzing workflows as well as for monitoring operation.
The Workflow Builder is for displaying and making changes to workflows. You can make small extensions directly to the original workflows supplied by SAP, such as carrying out your own agent assignments or changing deadline monitoring.
There are several Workflow Wizards to support you in the definition of workflows, with which you can create specific parts of a workflow. The Workflow Wizard Explorer gives you an overview of the existing Workflow Wizards.
In order to make the functions of the R/3 Systems available to a workflow, you use business objects, which you can define and analyze in the Business Object Builder. These business objects are made available to the workflow in reusable tasks. The Business Wizard Explorer gives you an overview of all existing tasks.
You can also use SAP Business Workflow to respond to errors and exceptions in other, existing business processes. You can start a workflow when predefined events occur, for example an event can be triggered if particular errors are found during an automatic check.

Hello Sir,
I want to learn Adobe's Digital Publishing Suite for our magazines. Is there any Training Institute at Delhi in India for that?

VimleshAccording to this list, there is no Adobe Certified Training Centre.

But you might search for other subjects in that list and then call them to find out about Digital Publishing. Most likely training providers know each other and an recommend. -
Want to learn iPhone Programming on 10.5 PPC, can i do this?
I want to self teach my self to program iPhone applications, i have no programming experience so inwill be starting from scratch. I have got the book 'Objective-C For Absolute Beginners' but before I begin I wanted to check I can learn using my system. I have a iMac G4 PPC running Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard which means I cannot run the latest version of Xcode. Is the latest version of Xcode that can run on 10.5.8 and on a PPC machine okay for me to practice and learn how to use Xcode and program for the iPhone? Because I don't have the money but when I can afford it I will upgrade to an intel computer maybe in a years time. But will it do for now?
AndiWhitts wrote:
Yes that's what I'm after, so writing program's for my mac is similar to iPhone app development only with a different UI ect.? and they definitely both use Objective-C? And the current Xcode I got with my leopard install will have everything I need won't it.
There are definitely some similarities. The lower-level libraries are very similar. At the application level, and the UI architecture level, they are significantly different.
I just wanted to make a start before I get an intel mac but I didn't want to learn it all then have to start from scratch when I get an intel mac because it is completely different.
You wouldn't start from "scatch" because it wouldn't be "completely" different. You would be starting near the beginning because it is 70% different.
If you want to start with the machine you have, focus on writing Mac apps. In a year, maybe you might have something that you could port to Xcode4 and release in the App Store.
Any machine made since 2007 will run Lion. -
For all the newbies who wants to learn Java
I was a newbie like 4 months ago. i have some skills of OOP in C++ like 2 years back but since then i did'nt took any of programming language courses. I have experience in MSaccess and MYsql. i did my internship Last summer with Tennessee Education Lottery as a Database Analyst. At that time i realized what a Corporate Enviorment looks like. Trust me it was a formal interview and i passed it and they placed me in the IT department to write some scripts for the GUI terminal and at the same time create a Company Security Database. i did completed my project but i had to Learn Mysql. and then i realized Java was getting very popular. alot of people told me in the forums to go Java tutorial but i will not agree to start from the sun tutorial. you can do it only if you have a good or may be medium experience of OOP. it was really tough for me and then this magic guy came on the forum and told me to go on this website if you want to learn Java.
http://chortle.ccsu.edu/java5/cs151java.html
This site is a brilliant site specially the exercise problems and the quizes really attracted me to Java alot and now i came to realize how easy it is to program in Java rather than C++. Java forums have helped me alot in solving those exercise problems (not with the code but with a good explanation) which was very helpful for me. out of my 210 post i guess i have helped 30 people out and the rest of the questions are regarding those exercises. i came to know encapsulation, inheritance and all that stuff. though i am still not very perfect like i am still having trouble with ComparTo thing but it takes more practice. the more you practice the more you learn. so all the newbies if you really want to learn java even if you dont have any experience in OOp this is the site where you need to start. Hope this will definitely help you alot. thanks to all the Senior members navycoder, captain, paulcw, duffy, turingpest and others also who have helped me in the past. without you i would have not achieved the goal of learning java. now my next step is going to be learn GUI programming Swing. looks fun to me. but at the same time i have my final project for this semester to make on ONline Testing program which will have a database, php scripting and html and xml.
I will post if i have any problemsI was a newbie like 4 months ago. i have some skills

Want to learn about Apex..!!
Hello Everybody,
I want to know much about apex. Can somebody please guide me.
Here's why i want to learn apex.
I want to design one application which opens in web browser, i want to implement it on my local PC, i am using Vmware (Red Hat Linux enterprise 4 OS) as my server, Database is Oracle 10gR2 on server, i have one database created on it.
For practice i have one package that has HTML code in it and i want to run that package on web browser, I ran that package before in my company using Apache with mod_plsql cartridge by setting up Dad configuration..
I want to try it on my local PC. My question is do we have to install Apache with mod_plsql or just installing APEX will work in this case...???
Any help will be greatly appreciated..
Thanks
Regards
-Harsh.Hi,
if you don't want to go for 11g - try 10g Rel.2 -
my recommendation:
1. Install the Oracle DB
2. Download the "Companion CD", which has APEX and an OHS Oracle Http Server = Apache WITH the MOD-PLSQL integrated in it.
http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/database/oracle10g/htdocs/10201winsoft.html
looks as follows:
Oracle Database 10g Companion CD Release 2 (10.2.0.1.0)
- 10201_companion_win32.zip (653,693,751 bytes) (cksum - 3264572193)
- Download latest Oracle Application Express (formerly HTML DB)
When you start the Installer of the Compnaion CD you get the option of installing TOGETHER : APEX and OHS/Apache
Do that ! - and its an hassle free install both installed ready to go (watch the url which is given in the status window at the end of the install and make a note).
The APEX/Apache install takes areound 18 min. - be patient !
TIPP: make a note of the user/pwd you used, because you need this exactly when upgrading.
Later you can easily upgrade to the latest APEX version (Downlaod as above mentioned).
Hope that assisted !

I want to learn how to use ActionScript
Where Am I With Flash?
I have adobe Flash CS3 Professional.
I have looked at the tutorials from the 'getting started'
section of the Video Workshop DVD and understood them.
I can do simple things like shape tweening, adding butons
ect...
I would like to be able to start adding script to my projects
(ActionScript 3)
I have almoast never programed before and certanly never
programed with ActionScript
I have an ambition to become a good ActionScript Programer so
I can add interactive flash into websitess
What Do I Want?
To start with, I need to know how everything is set up within
ActionScript 3 (what are variables and constants? How do you
constuct an If statment? What imported events do what? ect...)
I want to learn the above from a book (so I do not have to be
at my computer to learn). It would be nice if the book came with a
tutorial disk but this is not essential.
I have looked at the book from the following URL -
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Flash-ActionScript-Dummies-Doug-Sahlin/dp/0764508318/ref=pd_bbs_6? ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1204548401&sr=8-6
However, I'm not sure if this book is for programing in
ActionScipt version 3 or another version (or for that matter
weather the fact that it is for version 1,2 or 3 matters at all).
One More Thing
Also I would like to know some usefull websites that could
help me besides the video workshop (which I have looked at).
Thank You
ZiggyHi Ziggy,
I suggest you take a look at "Learning ActionScript 3.0: A
Beginner's
Guide", by Rich Shupe and Zevan Rosser.
It will give you great foundation and can help you build your
skills
from ground up.
I have just barely read a few pages, so I'm basing myself on
reviews
from friends who are beginning into AS3.
Furthermore, once you've got a good grasp on the basics, I
think one of
the most important part will be improving your skills on
object oriented
programming. There's no better way for that than learning it
with your
favorite language (and AS3 is perfect for that).
I strongly suggest at that point, that you acquire Colin
Moock's
"Essential Actionscript 3" from O'Reilly's. It's a difficult
book but
don't get discouraged, and keep on reading and re-reading the
chapters
and studying the examples until you finally get it.
It will help get your feet into OOP, necessary if you are
serious in
AS3, and I can guarantee you although you might feel
disturbed for not
understanding everything right away, it is only because it
covers the
topics very thoroughly, and you'll end up understanding many
important
concepts by re-reading it over the months/years of your
practice.
That book is a bible (like all previous from the author)...
once you get
to an intermediate level, you'll most likely rarely read any
other
(except for very specific topics it doesn't cover), and you
will often
refer to the AS help to know all of the classes and functions
you'll
come to need, since you'll be fully able to understand them.
Good luck! -

I want to learn JDE, how ?
Hi,
I want to learn J.D.Edwards enterprise one 9.0, I have a Win XP with 2Gb memory, I found in Oracle e-delivery there's the standalone edtion to install, around 2G to donwload.
there's a windows edtion as well as an oracle database edtion, which one should I choose?
Is the standalone edtion free to use? and is it supporting XP?
If I choose the oracle db edition, can I install it with Oracle 10g XE? I have it installed right now.
Many thanks!
Peter.Yawei.ZhangPeter,
You can choose either one. The Standalone 9.0 SSE version installs SQL Server Express as the local database; the Standalone 9.0 OEE version installs Oracle Enterprise Edition local database.
Just make sure that you do not have any version of Oracle database (if you're installing the OEE version) or SQL Server (if you're installing the SSE version) on the machine prior to installing Standalone. If any other version of the database is already there, you should uninstall it completely before installing Standalone.
If the Standalone installer detects, for example, in an SSE installation that SQL Server is already on the machine, it will completely skip over that portion of the installation (including configuring it to work with E1 Standalone).
If your installation of Standalone does not complete successfully, then you'll have to follow these steps to uninstall Standalone and the local database before doing a reinstallation:
E1: DEMO: Uninstall Standalone 9.0 SSE or OEE (Doc ID 850355.1)
https://support.us.oracle.com/oip/faces/secure/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?id=850355.1
Here are some good knowledge base articles from the My Oracle Support site for Standalone:
E1: DEMO: Complete Reference For DEMO/ Standalone Installation, Troubleshooting and Generic Queries (Doc ID 1085839.1)
https://support.us.oracle.com/oip/faces/secure/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?id=1085839.1&h=Y
E1: DEMO: Where to get the EnterpriseOne 9.00 (ERP9 TR 8.98) Standalone downloads and guides (Doc ID 664638.1)
https://support.us.oracle.com/oip/faces/secure/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?id=664638.1&h=Y
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne 9.0 Standalone Client Installation Guide, Update (Doc ID 705516.1)
https://support.us.oracle.com/oip/faces/secure/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?id=705516.1
Regarding your question about Minimum Technical Requirements (MTRs) for Standalone, Windows XP is not currently in their certifications. Standalone uses the same MTRs doc as a regular Windows client. Currently, only non-home editions of Vista are supported (Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise Editions, up through SP2 of Vista), although Windows 7 might be certified in the foreseeable future.
Windows XP Professional was previously certified, so you should be able to install Standalone successfully on XP -- but if you run into problems that cannot be replicated in one of the currently certified operating systems, then Oracle GCS might ultimately have to tell you to upgrade to a currently certified platform and then replicate the issue before they continue troubleshooting with you.
JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 8.9x Minimum Technical Requirements for Clients (Doc ID 705409.1)
https://support.us.oracle.com/oip/faces/secure/km/DocumentDisplay.jspx?id=705409.1
And here are some of the salient points from that document:
Hardware Requirements:
CPU: Minimum required by Microsoft for the operating system
RAM: 156 MB above the requirements for the operating system
Hard Drive: 8 GB for system code and initial path code. 6 GB for each additional path code. This is in addition to any other system requirements.
Printer Support:
Non-double-byte: Post Script Language Level 2, PCL 5 or line printer.
Double-byte: Genuine Adobe Systems PostScript Language Level 2 Interpreter version 2015, or PostScript Language Level 3.
PCL 5 is only supported for non-double-byte customers.
EnterpriseOne uses CID Font Technology. Support starts at Language Level 2 Interpreter 2015.
Note: It has been discovered that some third-party interpreters of PostScript Language Level 2 will not properly print CID-Font based double-byte PostScript.
Operating System Requirements:
Windows Vista and Windows Vista SP1/SP2 (Business, Ultimate, and Enterprise Editions)
Note: The EnterpriseOne Windows client must be installed with “Run as Administrator on Windows Vista.
Note: The EnterpriseOne Windows client must be run with “Run as Administrator on Windows Vista.
Database Requirements:
See “JDE Local Database” information contained in the Deployment Server MTR for information on the Local Database Requirements.
Miscellaneous Requirements:
· Adobe Acrobat Reader
· Microsoft Office 2007 is optional. Microsoft Office 2007 is supported beginning with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 8.96.2. Note that Microsoft Office 2007 has changed some default file extensions. For example, the default extension for Excel files has changed from .xls to .xlsx. Therefore, when exporting to Excel 2007 files, users might have to change the target file name to *.* to see all available files.
· Microsoft Office 2010 is optional. Microsoft Office 2010 is supported beginning with JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Tools 8.98.3. Note Default file extensions in Microsoft Office 2010 are the same as Microsoft Office 2007. The ability to save files under Microsoft Office 2003 file extensions is still available.
Now, bear in mind that an installation of Standalone is not a fully-functional installation of E1. There are some things that just won't work; it is for demonstration purposes only, and Oracle GCS only supports getting it to install and launch properly.
But some customers use it for Configuration Assistant and other handy things besides just looking at some of the screens in EnterpriseOne. You can also use Standalone to run reports (called UBEs) to demonstrate the kinds of reporting you are able to generate in E1.
You might hear the phrase 'run UBEs' -- 'UBE' stands for Universal Batch Engine, which is what runs reports in E1 and is sometimes used synonymously to refer to the reports themselves.
But you may also notice that you can run UBEs from the fat client for Standalone (which opens when you double-click the Solution Explorer lightbulb icon to start Standalone), but not from the web client (which you launch from Tools > EnterpriseOne Menu once you have logged into the fat client).
That's just the way that Standalone works, out of the box, and how it's officially supported by Oracle GCS.
I hope that some of this information is helpful to you. Good luck with your installation!

Hi all,
I am a beginner in Linux ….. I want to learn it …. All user commands to advance level … any one can help me to get some PDF documentation which will get all the user level command and other details to start by a beginner to practice and become master in it
Hopefully
shanojand, just in case you choose Ubuntu Linux, there is plenty of info hosted at the wikis and step-by-step info on https://help.ubuntu.com/
Command line interface is very useful and powerful friend but GUI is not bad ally either, it is just a matter how you feel more comfortable.
Once you start playing around with Linux you will soon realize there many ways to do one particular thing, there are lots of ways to customize your environment/box to every particular need. Ah, and one of the many good things about Linux is that you are not forced to restart your box after updating/upgrading apps. or even the system.
Good luck in your adventure and let us know how it goes. -
