"any" help out there for missing thumbnails???
I looked for archives of this problem out on the internet and have had no luck with the solutions of finding files "thumb.5". I am missing thumbnails from over 6000 pictures. Each time I pick a block of pictures to "update thumnails" , it actually takes away the few thumnails that are there.
I installed 5.0 on Vista 3 months ago, and everything was fine. All of a sudden, all I see is the hourglass (which basically renders the program useless)
If no one has any fix, do you know who I can contact at Adobe or a customer support number ... they hide that stuff pretty well in their website.

I am running Windows XP rather than Vista so I hesitate to predict a folder structure under Vista. And I have always kept my catalog name the same at the time of the Restore.
I know that a friend verified for me that when he took a PSE 5 Backup done under Windows XP and then used that backup to do a Restore on a Vista machine running PSE 5.0.2, it restored correctly to the Pictures folder structure.
Running under XP and PSE 5,if I choose
b Folder Location view
(pull down box lower left below thumbnails) and then Right Click on the Name of one of the folders which contains photos in this catalog, the right click menu has a choice to
b Rename Folder
. (Note: in my case that specific folder had no subfolders).
I did that Rename Folder in PSE and then subsequently checked in Windows Explorer to find that the folder had actually been renamed. So that seems that it might be a possibility. However, I highly recommend that you do your own test using a folder containing less significant photos.
And I recommend that you 1)do a File > Catalog > Recover before you do this renamimg in order to cleanup and compact your catalog. 2) Then also before you rename, use Windows Explorer to just copy your Catalog file to save an extra copy somewhere. 3) After you are finished this renaming and verified that it is OK. do the File > Catalog > Recover again and then perhaps do a new PSE Backup (or however you normally backup).

Detailed description of "stop play" issue. Any help out there for this?
I have four music players that we switch between using during massages in our two treatment rooms. Two are iPod shuffles and two are Sandisk Clip MP3 players.
Sometimes the iPod will go all day without a problem. Sometimes, 15 minutes into an hour long treatment it will just stop playing.
Both iPod shuffles will stop playing regardless of whether they are fully charged, what audio device they are plugged into or what music is on them.
They have been plugged into docking stations, directly into speakers, and - as an experiment - headphones and this still happens. They have been fully charged and the problem occurs. They have been reset and the problem occurs. All of the music has been removed and replaced with new and different music and this still occurs.
I understand we might be able to get replacements at an Apple store but that's really a pain to do. And, from what I have read, it may not actually do anything about the problem.
The two Sandisk Clips we have seem to have no problem playing the music. We are about to trash our shuffles and get more of the Sandisk Clips.
Please, someone give me an answer so I can keep using these things.Chuck,

My ipod 4 when i plug it to my pc Windows 7 had worked fine for 8 months then one day i plug it in and a message came USB device not recognized, i tried reset network settings and nothing i did not install any software before this happend i called apple they did not know, any help out there TX

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. I keep getting a pop-up. This accessory is not optimized for this iphone.... A dismiss button makes it go away but it keeps coming back periodically.

Quit the mail app completely and restart the iPad. Go to the home screen first by tapping the home button. Double tap the home button and the task bar will appear with all of your recent/open apps displayed at the bottom. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button or anywhere above the task bar. Restart the iPad.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button. Try mail again.
Or you can try this as well. Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. -
My iPhone 4s refuses to make alert sounds for messages for one particular contact of mine. All other text messages come through with appropriate alert sounds. Any help out there?
As always seems to happen, the next thing you try ends up working. Well almost. I
Deleted the contact and sent a message from that phone to mine -- problem persisted
Deleted the person from my FAVORITES in the phone app (the entry still existed even though the contact had been deleted). This worked!!!
It's kind of weird that the favorites in the phone app were somehow affecting notifications in Messages for a contact that had been deleted, but there you are. -

If you want help you’ll need to give us more information. There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on 8 different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary depending on the version of iPhoto and the version of the OS. So to get help you need to give as much information as you can. Include things like:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. As full a description of the problem as you can. For example, if you have a problem with exporting, then explain by describing how you are trying to export, and so on.
- History: Is this going on long? Has anything been installed or deleted? - Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
- Anything unusual about your set up? Or how you use iPhoto?

The following is a general list of things you may try when the issue is not in a specific file (you may have tried/done some of them already); 1) and 2) are the easy ones for temporary strangenesses, and 3) and 4) are specifically aimed at possibly corrupt preferences); 5) is a list in itself, and 6) is the last resort.
1) Close down Illy and open again;
2) Restart the computer (you may do that up to 3 times);
3) Close down Illy and press Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cmd+Option+Shift during startup (easy but irreversible);
4) Move the folder (follow the link with that name) with Illy closed (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible);
5) Look through and try out the relevant among the Other options (follow the link with that name, Item 7) is a list of usual suspects among other applications that may disturb and confuse Illy, Item 15) applies to CC, CS6, and maybe CS5);
Even more seriously, you may:
6) Uninstall, run the Cleaner Tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC), and reinstall.

Pretty much the ipod is going to need to be repair. I would suggest taking it into the nearest Apple Store because they give you a 10% discount for older ipods towards a new ipod.

Using Seagate 2.0 Go Flex .... initial back up just stops at about 2gb .... no message, just stops! any help out there??
I've done the reformat thing .....On another post I saw the suggestion to download EasyFind and use that to search for any Seagate software on my Mac and then remove it.
I did that, removed anything that even mentioned Seagate and .... it worked!
It has been working fine all day and allowed me to shut down the computer without freezing.
So ...... so far so good.
If anyone is about to use a Seagate GoFlex then don't download any of their software!!!
