I have a question about Java questions:
Does anybody have any suggestions or guidelines for posting Java questions in order to help get quick, helpful answers?
Will it help if I use all caps, and a bunch of exclamation points, like "URGENT!!!!!!" in my Java question?
Will it help if I make both the subject and the Java question itself very vague? Maybe a subject of "Why doesn't this work?" and a body consisting of 1000 lines of unformatted code?
Speaking of which, why isn't there a link anywhere that tells me how to format the code that I include in my Java question?
Will it help to crosspost my Java question?
Should I just post my Java homework and ask you guys to do it for me?
Should I ignore common courtesy, and scream when my question isn't answered in 5 minutes, and not say thank you when it's answered in 10?
Does anybody have any suggestions or guidelines for posting Java >questions in order to help get quick, helpful answers?Yes. If you don't want that people suspect that you're trying to get your homework done for you, follow these guidelines :
-Ask questions with a strong academic flavor, that sound like an invitation to parrot some textbook.
-Avoid anything like personal tone, specific angle, real-world application possibilities.
-Don't provide any background about how you came to be interested in that question.
-Don't show any commitment in getting it answered that could betray your utter cluelessness about the whole issue.
-Don't show any involvement in the forum beyond the immediate benefit you expect from it. Just post and run away.
If you follow these principles, you will see your thread sparkle passionate discussions and sticking on the frontpage for the weeks to come.

Any hint on how to create a query faster?
Hi Guru:
I use query designer for many years, but actually I feel this tool is not really easy to use. For example, I need to right click on a line in a structure, get the popup and then use drag and drop to define a selection for a row.
Is there any easier way like to input the selection directly or in the future release we will have it? Compare to crystal report, the query designer is really hard to use.

It is what it is and you cannot simplify the development of query further using BEx Query designer. I heard some newa that the reporting is altogether taking a different direction once the Business Object front is combined with SAP BI Backend. Until then you have to use what is there. You could write an ABAP (ofcourse extremly complex) and create MDX files (how query is stored inside SAP). But it is like re-inventing what SAP is doing, and level of success is extremly limitted.
I feel the pain. But unfortunately there are no other way to achive.

I have a iPhone 4 and all of a sudden when I answer a phone call the person on the other end can't hear me ???? I can hear them , so I've had to put it on speaker for all my calls - ? Any tips on how to get it back to being able to speak normally

Somehow, I am getting some activity lines which I do not understand but do not want in the output. Those are the lines which show u201CPO_Qty = 0 AND Act_Qty = 0 at the same time.u201D i.e. the highlighted lines.
Any hint on how to eliminate the highlighted lines from the output?
I played with calculated key figures but could not reason it out.

Create Conditions over the Formula. Since the sum would be always 0 only when both the KF's are zero I think you can create condition over this formula.

Go to settings>messages>send and receive at>you can be reached by iMessages at> Uncheck your phone number and you can select your Apple ID emal address if you want to use that for messages.

i have purchased itunes match but the cloud will not load on my ipad 4.it works on my iphone 5 & it originally worked on my ipad.the only music that will show up is stuff that i bought from the itunes store.any ideas on how to get this to work?
On the MBP, in iTunes, switch to Song view and enable the iCloud Status column by pulling down View > View options and selecting the option for "iCloud Status." Close the small window. Look for any tracks that have a status of "waiting." If you see several of them disable iTunes Match while holding down the Option key. Quit iTunes, wait a few seconds, then open it again and turn iTM back on. Let it compelete the scan. Wait until all tracks that are "waiting" have a status of either "matched" or "uploaded."
On the iPad, turn off iTunes Match then launch the Music app and let the contents clear out. Power cycle the iPad for good measure, then re-enable the service once all the tracks in iTunes have been processed. -
After connecting my Apple TV this morning, I have no sound. It is hooked up to play through my television speakers. Any ideas on how to get sound? Also, I tried hooking it up through my surround receiver, but could not get it to come up on my ty screen, what can I do to correct this problem?
Have you tried adjusting the "Audio Out" and the "Dolby Digital" settings in settings > audio and video? It may be worth trying several combinations of these settings, although typically it is the "Dolby Digital" setting that causes most problems for users.
Also make sure that you have correctly mapped the input port on your sound system to the output, if you are unsure about how to do this, refer to the manual that came with your sound system.
Have you tried playing various content sources (i.e. podcasts, music, iTunes Store video, other video etc), do you have the same problem with all types of content? If you use optical you might also check that you can see a red light at the end of your optical audio cable. Is your optical audio cable plugged straight into your sound system, or does it go through a switch or other device? -
When I switch my time capsule to 5.0ghz mode the range of my wireless network drops significantly. Near the Time Capsule my Macbook Pro works fine, in my bedroom I have almost no signal. In mixed mode it works fine both placed. Any ideas on how to get 5.0 working? I thought 5.0Ghz was supposed to have a wider range. Do I need to change a setting on the Macbook Pro?

The upside is that the 5 GHz signal will allow faster speeds.
The downside is that you must always give up something in order to gain something else.Unfortunately, the marketing hype about 5 GHz does not go into very many details about this.
In the case of 5 GHz, the 5 GHz signals are much weaker than 2.4 GHz signals, so they do not travel as far or penetrate any obstructions like walls or ceilings nearly as well as 2.4 GHz signals. In many cases, in order to get good 5 Ghz performance, you literally have to have almost a line-of-sight relationship between your computer and the wireless router.
If you have a new dual band router, which broadcasts both a 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz signal simutaneously, your Mac will connect to the best signal quality automatically depending on its location in relation to the router. In the same room, without any obstructions, it will connec to 5 GHz. But, take the laptop down the hall a few rooms and around the corner and the Mac will connect to the 2.4 GHz signal because at that location, the 2.4 GHz signal is not only stronger, it is also faster. -
I am trying to open PDF files from safari, but when I click on them they open in a separate window and the information is encrypted. Any ideas on how to get them to open them in Adobe? Any help please!

Although my ipod shows the number of steps, calories, and time, it no longer is saving it to the history. Also when I open the history it takes me to May 2010 instead of the current date. Any ideas on how to get it to start recording the history again?
Try:
- iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

- If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
- Try another cable
- Try on another computer
- If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

The missing apps could have been done by setting the Restrictions that can hid those apps. If the backup was made with those retrictions set the the Restrictions are also restored.
Thus, if you get it to work restore to factory settings/new iPod, not from backup

I-photo: I used 2 cameras to take pictures on a trip --- i have put the pictures from both cameras into an album --- when i click on view and then sort by date, the pictures do not sort by date --- any ideas on how to get the pics sorted by date?
Select all the photos that you need to change, then click the "Photos" menu and choose "Adjust Date and Time".
If you add a year, it will adjust all the photos that you selected by adding a year (so if you accidentally select one of the photos that already has "2012", that will change to "2013"). -
I accepted/installed an update for iMovie and it turns out that this version is not compatible with my graphics card. So now I can no longer open or use iMovie. Any ideas on how to get around this - how to revert to the previous version??
Look in your Applications folder. If your system behaved as expected, you should have an iMovie 9.0 folder in your Applications folder. Apple moved the old version there as even they suspected the new versions was a train wreck.
