Any hope of finding my edited movie after a crash?

Just minutes before finishing the edits on an important project, iMovie crashed. After rebooting and restarting iMovie the entire project was gone. The raw footage remains in the events folder at the bottom, but nothing up in the project window.
Is there any chance that my edited version is buried somewhere on my drive? Or did I lose everything?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
Lane

Are you using Time Machine? If so it is easy to recover.
If not, check the trash and check the imovie Projects folder. Look for things that have the same name as your project or that look strange. If you find one, describe it here.

  • Can't find my downloaded movies after upgrade ipad2 iOS 5

After aan easy upgrade to ios5.1.1 I can not find my downloaded movies after upgrade ipad2 iOS 5.

You are looking in the videos app - correct?
If they are not in there - try this ....
Swipe to the right from your first home screen to get to the iPad Spotlight search. Type in the name of any of your movies in the field at the top. If a movie appears in the search - tap on it and it should hopefully start to play. Let it play for a minute or so - hit done - go back to videos app and see if all is OK and if the rest of your movies have appeared.
If they still do not show up - sync them back from iTunes on your computer.

  • Any hope for finding cheap Flash MX?

I bought a template to create a website for my girlfriend.
    It's source is .fla .
I have mac OSX 10.3.9 and the template vendor says I can
    'make do' with Flash MX-6 . I guess that's Studio 2004 (of which I
only need the Flash portion). Unable to find a reasonably priced
    solution.
C'mon... should someone *really* have to shell out $500 for
studio product and then turn around and upgrade his operating
system for another $125? The template cost was $64

    Okay.

    I'm with ya.

Studio MX 2004 included Flash MX 2004. The version your
    vendor is
talking about is previous even to that: Flash MX (aka 6). I
    can see on
Adobe's system requirements listing that Flash CS3 requires
    Mac OS X
v.10.4.8. I really don't know Macs all that well, but if
    you're going to
upgrade, why not go whole hog at get the latest version of
    Flash?
I'm confused, I think, on why (or how) you purchased a Flash
    template
    without having Flash first.

I guess that's what people do, if necessary. Luckily, Flash
    has always
happened to be compatible with the operating system when I
    upgraded.
    > The template cost was $64
That's honestly pretty inexpensive. The fear you'll get even
    more
frustrated when it comes time to edit that template. I see a
    lot of these,
actually -- here on the forums and also as a consultant --
    and I haven't
seen a Flash template yet that was built according to
    recommended best
practices. They end up requiring a skilled Flash user, when
    the whole point
is that they're supposed to provide a head start for
    newcomers.
I wish you best of luck, for sure.

  • Is there any hope to find a cure for Kernel attacks on 2010 MBP?

I sent this mail to apple today...My sad story with MBP
I'm writing to you with absolute disappointment and I don't even know if I will be getting a reply or not. Its been almost 6 months now & I still cant find a fix for those "Kernel attacks" destroying my stock 2010 2.66 Ghz i7 macbook pro. Adding to my disappointment, is that I visited both authorized distributors and/or dealers in my country (Egypt - Best buy & Tradeline) & they had absolutely no idea of whats going on. That said, when i researched the error on the community forums, I found out that many others are infected with this manufacturing defect in the logic or display boards, causing black screens & system halts, where the only solution is to shutdown.  I bought my laptop from the states (LA), and I absolutely have no idea regarding apple's goodwill towards such a devastating customer experience. Please support!

I uploaded photos onto my Macbook pro from my iPad 2 and they are not on my computer any longer.  They were in the computer and deleted from my iPad.  They are now where to be found in the cloud.  Is there any chance they can be recovered?

With the amount of information you've provided it's impossible to offer a potential solution.  We can't see your computer so we need to know the details of your problem and setup, i.e.:
what version of iPhoto are you using?
what system version are you running?
what do you see when iPhoto opens?
how did you upload the photos from the iPad to your library?
    what fixes have you tried?
    where is your library located?
did you apply any updates or upgrades just prior to the problem occurring?
are you running a "managed" or "referenced" library?
    what type of Mac?
how much free space on your boot drive?

  • Can't find my edited photos after saving them

I have been using Elements 5.0 and recently I'm having a problem with the photos that I edit, (using the Photo Editor), not showing up in the folder I designate for them in Save As.  Am I missing a setting that in my Organizer???

Its quite unusual. Try resetting editor preferences. Follow these steps
    1. Close Elements.
    2. Launch the Photoshop Elements Welcome Screen and hold down ctrl + alt + shift as you click Editor.
    3. Continue to hold the keys until you see a message box asking if you want to delete Photoshop Elements settings file; click Yes. Elements will open with default preferences.

  • How to restore edited messages after Thunderbird crash?

I work with several messages opened usually to check details of a conversation or for preparing the answer. When Thunderbird crashes all these open messages are lost. Some I edited are in the Drafts, the ones I just viewed are lost.
Is there a way to restore a Thunderbird session? For Firefox this is a standard, for TB it should be as well.

If you mean that the Organizer's catalog is empty, search your entire computer for
    *.pse8db
and use Organizer's File...Catalog...Custom Location to browse to the directory that contains the largest *.pse8db file.

Not from the itunes store - hopefully you made backups! Or at least have the purchased content on an iPod?

  • How do I get home video clips from iMovie Mac to iMovie iPad?  Surely there is some degree of cross-compatibility?  I have a load of clips in iMovie on my MBP that I wanna download to my iPad2 so that I can edit movies on the move.  Any ideas?

How do I get home video clips from iMovie Mac to iMovie iPad?  Surely there is some degree of cross-compatibility?  I have a load of clips in iMovie on my MBP that I wanna download to my iPad2 so that I can edit movies on the move.  Any ideas?  (The clips are in a .mov format, they have been imported / converted into this format in iMovie, original files were from a JVC camcorder in some other strange format.)

I copied the iTunes file from the external drive and it's in both places.  I thought all I would need is the iTunes program (which I downloaded to new computer) and my iTunes library file.  There must be something else that's missing.  My iTunes library looks the same on the new computer as it does when I open it on the external drive.  If I click on an iTunes library song from my new computer, it will only play if I have the external drive plugged in.
My back-up drive is a mess.  I have multiple copies of music, video, photo, and document files and I don't know how that happened. ={  Obviously, I don't know how to back up stuff properly and there are back-up files extending over a 6- to 8-year period.  I think all I did was just drag and drop the main folders from the back-up drive to the same main folders on the C: drive.  Also (and I'm kind of fuzzy on this) Windows used to automatically save music files in a folder within my document files (which makes no sense to me).  As my Jewish friends would say, "Oy Vey!"
