Any idea of when the updated MBP will debut?

I want to buy a new MBP but was waiting for yesterday's event hoping it would be announced. Has Apple said anything at all about a updated MB Pro? I like the Air but would like to have the added horsepower that the MBP has.

Only Apple knows and the corporate policy over the years has been to make the announcements at their pleasure. Any discussions on possible releases of new products and any changes and additions to those products falls into the category of speculation and is prohibited on this forum by the Terms of Use.

I've seen this before on a Theatre Sound Mailing List I subscribe to.
Every time Apple issue an updated operating system there's a flurry of questions about all sorts of sound recording, editing and playback software that no longer works. This moves to a flurry of "this update now works but that one doesn't" posts then, eventually everything settles down just in time for Apple to issue a new upgrade.
I don't understand why they do things this way but it's one of the reasons I stick to Windows and never wish to move to Apple products. Their disregard for their customers (or are they acolytes?) is astounding.

When the update statement will check the constraint violation ?

i am working on data masking of production data using oracle Translate function.i have created a function otis_mask using translate function to mask sensitive values .For this i am tesitng on a small table. i have created a table with single primary key column SSN.
sql>desc SSN_MASK
Name Null? Type
SSN NOT NULL NUMBER(10)
1) i have inserted the value 9949577766. if resulted mask value exist in table it should throw the constraint violation error.But it is not throwing any error.rows are properly updating .
Eg:-
Table contains below values.
PA_DATA_SUB @qdsrih30 >select *from SSN_MASK;
SSN
7727399911
9949577766
9989477700
UPDATE SSN_MASK SET SSN=otis_mask(SSN);
if above update statement process 7727399911 first then resulted mask value is 9989477700.This value is already in the table.
if the update statement process 9949577766 first then resulted mask value is 7727399911.This value is already in the table.
in any of the above scenario update statement should have to throw constraint violation error. But its not happening. rows are properly updating . when the update statement checking the constraint violation ? after processing all the rows or processing of each row ?
Please help me in understandding the update statement processing ?

If the above statement process first row 9949577766,then otis_mask function will return 7727399911 and update statement will update the value of 9949577766 to 7727399911 .At this case 7727399911 is already in the table.So update statement should have to throw primary key constraint violation error.
If the above statement process second row 7727399911 first ,then otis_mask function will return 9989477700.and update statement will update the value of 7727399911 to 9989477700.At this case 9989477700 is already in the table.So update statement should have to throw primary key constraint violation error.
But its not throwing any integrity constraint violation error.
i just want to know when update statement will check the constraint ?
is update statement will first process all records and kepp in handy the new values then update the table with new values (or) process the first row and update the new value with old value then process second row and update with new value so on ?

Any timeline on when the Canon XF100 will be supported?

Anyone heard from Canon or Apple on when the Canon XF100 camera will be supported? FCP 7 has a plugin for it but not FCP X. Previously spoke with both companies with no results. Files can't be imported.

Apple will say, if they ever said anything, that it's up to Canon to build the plugin. I guess it's going to be a question of demand and how much is involved in the API for a completely new application.

As with the recent Vista incompatibility issues, thousands of Nokia handset owners are up in arms about, and are wondering when this will be fixed. I was informed Nokia headquarters in Norway were aware of the problem on the 9th of this month (April 2008), but wanted to ask if anyone knew the release date for the revised Nokia Software Updater?
Me personal, have issues with it installing correctly, and Im using Vista Business, and have tried everything, and am led to believe its down to the latest version of NSU.

Any clue on when the prepaid apocalypse will be over???

I've been without service since I ported from Straight Talk on Tuesday, October 7. A nice tech (not one of the first-line reps but one you get when your problem gets escalated to another level) said the service has been down since Friday, Oct. 3rd. The techs were told it was "system maintenance," but even THEY know that's not true. They're not even being forthcoming with their own employees! I made the mistake of visiting a Verizon store yesterday to ask about it & of course the sales rep tried to take advantage of my issue & try to sell me a post-paid plan--she had the nerve to say, "Well, you won't have issues like this if you go post-paid." So note to fellow prepaid customers: DON'T GO TO A VERIZON STORE FOR HELP EITHER. I am so frustrated & having many regrets over switching prepaid service providers!

I am keen to upgrade to a suite, and the elearning suite is exactly what I need - though not the 5.5 version. I have CS4 Design Suite now and also Captivate v 5.
Anyone else know when this is likely to get the upgrade? Hey - I would buy it now if I knew it would upgrade for free when they get all the components upgraded.

Seriously, do you think that there will be un upgrade to eLearning Suite 2.5? They don't even offer an academic discount for it anymore. I was on the line yesterday for quite some time talking to an Adobe sales representative, and I got the impression that Presenter 7.07 is the end of the line for Presenter. Maybe I misunderstood. Is there a new program from Adobe (or anyone) that fills the niche that Presenter does? I use it all the time.

How did you buy iPhoto? Did it come preinstalled on your computer with Lion or later, or did it come with Snowleopard on system installer disks?
Which version of iPhoto?
If you have a version of iPhoto '11 and it is showing on the Purchased tab of the App Store, with your Apple ID, then delete iPhoto from the Applications folder (don't empty the Trash) and download iPhoto again from the Purchased tab.
If that does not work, contact The App Store Support from the Quick Links on the AppStore main page.
Only apple Support can fix problems with apple ID.

Local retail stores vary according to their inventory, more than likely the have Lion ready MBP. Call and ask.

I found the reason why our iPads are slow after iOS 5!!!!!!!
What you need to do is this:
1) launch settings, go to mail contacts and calendars, go to fetch new data, advanced, and set iCloud to fetch.
2) go back and set an interval of when to fetch. Mine is set for thirty minutes.
3) make sure on top push is still on, that means that all your emails will still be pushed, but all the iCloud sync (contacts, calendars, reminders, bookmarks) will happen at the interval you choose.
Restart the device. Your performance should be 10x faster! No more keyboard lag, nothing! Doing this puts less stress on the A4 chip, which we know we need every bit we can get with it now!!!
Optional:
1) in the settings, go to safari.
2) clear all history and cookies/data
3) enable private browsing. One of the biggest reasons why devices are slow is because it keeps all the history and cookies in the RAM. You need more RAM to make things faster. By turning on private browsing, it never records it!
