You can run the upgrade for 2.0 on the Mac just fine, I upgraded my 1.6 installation on my PowerBook G4 and it works a treat. I just grabbed the Linux release (all you need is the upgrade scripts). Note that you won't be on a "supported installation", but it does work.

Talk about frustrating - I bought the xoom on black friday - at the great price of $199.
Problem is the sales rep at time of purchase, said I would get NFL games televised live - same as on their cell phones.
After not be able to connect to the NFL Red Zone Sunday I contacted Verizon customer service. They tried to get me to sign up for Direct TV - very strange. Finally telling me to go back to the Verizon store I made the purchase at.
So Monday after vwork that is where I went. The rep still thought I should get NFL Mobile for live TV coverage only to find out he was wrong.
What sense does it make that you can access live nfl games on Verizon cell phones, but not through their serviced 4G tablets.

Apple is extraordinarily tight lipped about product developement. If anyone knows, they can't say. If they can say, they don't know.
Speculation about future versions is not really part of the forum protocol -Terms of Use and all that.
If you need the software now, buy it. If you have a feature you'd like to see included, use the Software feedback form found under the FCP item on the program's Menu Bar.

Here's why there's is no Flash available for iDevices or other mobile devices. Adobe was unable to provide a product that was suitable to the needs of battery powered mobile devices used for Internet browsing. Existing Flash technology used too much memory, ate battery life, and was buggy. Simply put Flash did not work well on mobile devices.
Apple's Steve Jobs led the escape from Flash dependency when Apple introduced the iPhone, and later introduced the iPad. There was a hue and cry over the omission. Time proved Jobs was right on target.
So this is why there is no Flash for your iPhone or iPad or iPod nor for most SmartPhones. Flash has been abandoned by many sites in favor of supported technologies such as HTML5 or by providing their own custom app.

Now, you are not necessarily out on a limb. There are some apps that can display some Flash, but don't count on there ability to display anything using Flash.

What I will say is that Apple must negotiate contracts will all major copyright holders for content in each individual country. When those contracts are in place for a specific country, then Apple will announce that a store will be available for that area.
