As a regular Mac user who uses Safari as his main browser, it's disappointing that adoption of the latest Java versions in Safari seem to be lacking. Is there any way to get Safari to look at the latest versions of Java instead of being stuck on Java 1.6?

Apple has kept up to date (more recently) with the latest releases of Java 6 (1.6.0_33), which is the current public release of Java. You can install the development Java 7 runtime from Oracle (currently on build 5), but this will not support many features and functions of the final release. All future updates to Java will be issued and maintained by Oracle as it's done on other platforms. Apple will not be offering an in-house Java runtime after Java SE 6. OCFS2 - Any idea when it will be supported?

I am at the beginning stages of a 11.5.10 development effort. We are building our dev hardware environment with the intentions of mimicking prod. The problem I have is clustering/RAC and what to do about the shared file system. Right now, OCFS2 is not supported for production. This would somewhat force our hand to look at Red Hat GFS for the shared file system (expensive - $2100 per node) or something similar, since we are planning a shared $ORACLE_HOME and $APPL_TOP.
Does anyone have an idea when OCFS2 will be supported? Are there other alternatives to Red Hat GFS?

That certainly does - a bunch!
Go live on this project is not until November 1 2005, so I can start development with beta OCFS2, when OCFS2 goes GA I'll just backup everything and rebuild the file system with the supported version.

Does anyone have any idea when Apple will have one Global App store. In South Africa the apps available on the App Store are pathetic, eg. Angry Birds is not available to Iphone/ipad users here, however android users can purchase this app no problem.

If this continues, with the competition in the smart phone/android market, South Africans will start to can Apple devices due to the pathetic App Store for South Africa. The most popular games and Apps are not available here and until Apple get smart and make a Global Store for purchases not matter where you are in the world, Apple will continue to loose support. I have everything Apple, but am tired of the run around to try and buy good Apps.

It really isn't the fault of Apple. The developers of apps, the writers of music and of books all have copyright or exclusivity deals through agents in order to market their creations.
These arrangements are usually conducted on an individual national basis and as a result what would be allowed in one country is not allowed in another if that is what the agent wants.
Apple has to negotiate through this mire to get the best deal it can yet always accepting that many other interested parties want similar privileges.
So you can see, like politics, world wide agreements are just not possible.

Any idea when we will see units new out of the box without a scratch? I was out at Apple to pick up my iPhone 5 in black on Oct 12th. I opened the box in front of an Apple technician and there was a scratch on the edge. So I told her I didn't want a scratched iPhone. So she returned and brought out another phone. Well, she couldn't get it to a accept the new iPhone because there's a 24hr waiting period when you make a return. This is Verizon's policy, but of course we didn't find out until 2.5hrs later.
So she says you'll have to return but we will hold this phone for you. I was disappointed after being there for a total of 3.5hrs and no iPhone. I returned on Saturday hoping the next iPhone didn't have a scratch. I opened the box and there was a scratch! I live 40 minutes from these store, so it's not close.
I have an iPhone 4 that's in excellent condition! I don't want a new iPhone 5 with a scratch, unless its a scratch caused by me.

We're users here. Why would you ask a question here that no one can answer? Are you impaired in some way intellectually?

HI all any ideas when new version be out for minor bug fixes? like the mem usage for some people that see it and the like. i personal have know issues with mem usage.

If the memory isn't released when closing windows and tabs or the program is quit, or if plug-ins are eating up memory, I think it is loading depending on available memory, so maybe it is just written for modern systems. Vista caches as much as possible, more memory, more gets cached.
On Apple's OS X, it easily eats up 300-900MB on a 4GB system.
If you want a smaller footprint, just use Firefox 3.0 (Minefield).

Both ADE1.7.2 (see *** below) and ADE2.0 run on Windows 8.
ADE2.0 is full of bugs on Windows 8; but only the same bugs it has everywhere else as well.
Neither can take advantage of touch, nor run in Metro mode (whatever it's proper name is).
As far as I am aware, there is no Adobe DRM compatible app that runs on Windows RT.

It's already in the DNG converter that's posted along with ACR 6.7 Beta. That indicates probably the next version.

I won't bring one in till I can use aperture3 with it and I am hopeful, but have not clue how long it takes apple to get around to these things. I have been shooting a camera that's RAW format is DNG so no issues till now with OFG I think it is and the XZ-1. thanks for any help and insight.

No one outside of Apple know when - or even if - any camera model will be supported for Raw.

Don't know what "the apps" are; they won't happen all at once. It will happen for an individual application when the developer chooses to make a new version available.

No, IO7 will not be signed again for iPhone 4S, try download the latest IOS 8.1.1.
It's optimised for iPhone 4S and iPad 2.
