Any idea why a web application would cause Firefox to crash with signiture "nsJSScriptTimeoutHandler::cycleCollection::UnmarkPurple(nsISupports*)"?
When testing a .net web application repeatedly we run into the same crash in Firefox. It doesn't happen on any general control, but any of the divs that are used as buttons. Also doesn't happen every time, can take hours before it is seen again, but always seems to be the same signature
Forgot to include system details, in case they're of some use:
Acer Extensa 4420 (laptop);
AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core Processors TK-57, 1.90 GHz;
Windows Vista Home Premium, 32-bit, SP2 (aka the Fischer Price version);
Firefox 5.0;
Adobe Flash (10.1 or 10.2 or whatever the most current version is)

Check the headphone jack with a flashlight and clean it if necessary. The jack on a new Nano is very tight, be sure you push the headset jack all the way in, the plastic on the headset jack should be flush with the body of the Nano.

Any ideas why some boxes/domains would get "access denied" on nmConnect?
I have four boxes running NodeManager, with 2-3 domains on each box. I want to be able to use WLST to connect to the NodeManager on each box, to perform certain operations. On each box, I've created each domain using the same process (it's entirely possible I missed a step somewhere). The application deployed to each of these domains (the same application is deployed) appears to be working ok. The admin console also works perfectly fine. I can stop and start managed servers from the console.
I execute wlst on each box exactly the same way. At each prompt, I enter a fully-qualified "nmConnect()" call, specifying the user, pwd, machine, nmport, domain name, domain path, and "ssl". I've verified all of these field values (like the password) many times. On all but one of these boxes, the result of this call is:

I've carefully examined any meaningful differences between these domains, and I can't see anything that might cause this. Of the four domains, two of them are in production mode, and the other two are not. The only one that does not fail the connection is not in production mode (but note that the other that is not in production mode also fails).
What else could be the cause of this?At first I thought this was working fine. It now works fine from WLST. Unfortunately, the admin console now fails to see the nodemanager. I even tried restarting the admin server. No luck.
I then copied back the old nm_password.properties file (I made a backup first) and now WLST fails, but the admin console can see the nodemanager, so it's back to where it was.
What's curious is that the contents of the properties file after wlst hashed it was different from the original hashed value, and the wlst-hashed value was very odd. The original hashed value ended with "0\=" at the end of the line. After I replaced the "hashed" property with the cleartext properties "username" and "password" and then ran wlst, the new contents of the "hashed" property was in TWO lines, where the first line ended with "0\=" as before, but the next line contained the last five characters of the password value that I entered. I tried this on three different boxes, and the behavior was the same, with respect to the odd hashing. -
Any idea why my MBP fan would make a fluttering sound?
All of a sudden, sounds like the fan is fluttering. Sound is constant unless my MBP is asleep or turned off.
Apple hadn't yet incorporated sudden motion sensor technology in their hard drives. Keep the machine level flat when using it to ensure long life on the hard drives except of course when the machine is shut down.

Any idea why Preview won't work for opening PDF files with this OS?
For some reason, after the last update to Mavericks 10.9.3, any time I attempt to open a PDF using Preview, the file will not open. No response from the system. Any recommended solutions? Thanks in advance!
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Can not use all apps with cellular data
In Settings/General/Restrictions if you tap on Cellular Data Use there should be 2 options: Allow Changes or Don't Allow Changes. If you don't see these options is that where you see "Cellular data is turned off for 'Setting'?
Do you have a corporate MS Exchange email account on your phone? If so your administrator may have added an override on this setting. -
I see all of my calendar events in iCal and on my iPhone, but not in the iCloud web app. Any ideas why?
If the calendar is on iCoud.com, all you would need to do to get it on your phone is go to Settings>iCloud on your phone, sign into your iCoud account and turn Calendars on. The iCloud calendars will then download to your phone.

I just found my old ipod touch (i think 1st generation) and would like to let my toddler use it instead of my phone. I am trying to download apps but it say I need to update to 4.3 but it won't let me update. I have the most recent itunes. any idea why? I saw a thread saying to purchase the newest software (that was posted a few years ago) I paid 4.95 for the software and it's still saying it can't be updated. Am I just SOL??
The 1G iPod can only go as high as 3.1.3. The 1G does not have an internal speaker or volume buttons on the upper left edge.

Do you have any ideas why Motion 5 would run slow on a computer? I have an Imac with 8Gigs of ram, and plenty of hard drive space, but it still gives me the beach ball when I add a few lights and effects. I'm at the end of my rope.
You probably don't really need 1080 at 60 for your finished projects but since you're just starting out with Motion, you need to lower your expectations. A long way. 1080 is about 2 million pixels per frame, DV is only about 400,000. That's not just five times as many pixels for the Mac to track; everything in video is exponential.
Explore the training tutorials available by Mark Spencer. You will get an idea of how his super powerful machine reacts with the software.
Adding a light roughly doubles the processing time over flat scenes. Two lights increases processing again. Reflections require processing the lights and then calculating the reflections so add another quarter of the time required for flat scenes. Add camera movement, motion blur, and depth of field and you need exponentially more processing time for every frame. The preload of renders into RAM is one of the cooler features of Motion, as comapred to After Effects, but that takes tons of time, to.
Try working in ye olde DV resolution for a few days. Get to know the software's limitations and what gets imposed by your Macintosh. Step up to 720p/30 and see how things slow down. -

Did it happen during a sync or did they just disappear? After they were gone, we you able to retrieve them during syncing? Are you using any 3rd party apps to access your contacts or just the built-in Contacts app?
In any case, I've not heard of or expeienced this on my iPhone 3G (synced with Outlook and now Google) or my iPad, although I've only had my iPad for a short time. -

i just upgraded my software to OS X 10.9.2 (13C64) and i can no longer use my printer (epsun stylus sx235w). any ideas why this would happen?
Mavericks is the name of your operating system. It is otherwise known as OSX 10.9.
The previous versions were indeed "cat things".
The way you would know if you need to download new software from Epson is to go the Epson website and search for your printer there, look for downloads, and see if they have new software listed for 10.9.
You can revert your system back to what it was two weeks ago. This would be easier to do if you have a backup that you made prior to installing Mavericks (like with Time Machine). If you don't have a backup (sounds like you probably don't), you can look here for some directions about how to go back to the "Cat Thing" that you had prior to installing Mavericks: How to revert OS X back from Mavericks: Apple Support Communities
If all of this is too hard for you, you could take your Mac in to your Apple store and ask them to help you. -

Any idea why mail.app would be using over 2 gigs of RAM???

Any idea why? I mean it's just sitting there behind my other applications. I'm not doing anything with it other than waiting for incoming mail...My mail is using more than 2G of RAM as well. Usually starts out ok, but eventually (within a day or 2), it is using 2 of 4G of RAM and brings my mac to a grinding halt where there is a 30-60 second delay (spinning beachball) every time I click something (link in safari, file on hard drive, etc.) At these times, mail will not quit normally and needs to be force quit. Other apps stop responding for short periods of time too.
No out of the ordinary use of Mail, just checking/writing email. No vpn or exchange server.
Does anyone know why this keeps happening and how to stop it? Reboot helps, but problem comes back. Thank you. -

Try again and not if you can view the report before it is sent to Apple. That might have some information to help.
Also open the Console app (in Utilities folder) and loog for log entries at the time of problem. Copy any and post here
Additionally, have yo went to Tesco's support site to see if other are having this problem.
It might be due to a problem with Yosemite interacting with the sites.
