Any idea why command-shift-delete is not working?

I have had a MacBook Pro for a few years, and recently purchased a new iMac. the iMac arrived, and I transferred everything from the MBP to the iMac using the Migration Assistant. Worked very well, from what I can tell. The only thing I am unable to do is delete using shift-delete and empty the trash using command-shift-delete.
I should also say that I did the initial setup of my iMac with a separate Admin account, then deleted that account to use the old account from my MBP on the iMac. I suspect this is a permissions issue, and I have seen articles that suggest deleting this trash account and letting OS X recreate.
Any thoughts on what else to try?

baltwo - I acknowledge that I wrote this incorrectly as shift-delete. That said, I am unable to delete a file/folder using command-delete. Also, unable to empty the trash using command-shift-delete.
I had already tried resetting my keyboard shortcuts, and this did not help either.
And these shortcuts worked on my MBP prior to the migration.

Hi there, can you put a console log before the if statement to confirm that you have a valid value for the "position" variable, at that click scope?

Run it in your browser and open the JS console to check the log output of the above test.

Dropped my phone in water and now the camera doesn't work, any ideas why its' the only thing not working

I somehow knocked my iphone 4s in the sink of water and everything seems to work except the camera. Is there a way to reinstall the software or does anyone know what I can do other than using phone protection insurance? All my pictures are there and they upload and share but just can't get the camera to take pictures.

The device is damage, it was dropped in water. You are lucky that the device works at all.

OK, restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible one or more is corrupt. To restart in Safe Mode when you hear the start up tone hold down the Shift Key until you see a progress bar. Let it fully boot then restart normally and test.
Also I am assuming you have checked Finder - Preferences - General and see what boxes are checked in "Show these items on desktop." You can also mount an item in Disk Utility, simply highlight it and then look in the File menu for Mount.....

Command-shift-4 is not working!

Command-shift-4 is not working for me!
I know that the deafult shortcut for taking screenshots is command-shift-3, but i want to take portion of the screen and that is command-shift-4.
I have tried everything wich is;
1: Log out and restart then login, not working.
2: Repair the permissions, not working.
3: Unchecked the box for shortcut and checkd it again in System preferences > Keybord > Shortcuts, not working.
4: Created a new Admin-account, not working.
5: Resetet PRAM, not working.
6: Reinstalled the whole system, not working.
I will say that this problem only appears in OS X Lion but not in Snow Leopard.
If there is anyone who can help me fix this problem i would be really thankfull.

Command-Shift-Delete no longer works in Mail

I could easily delete Mail Trash using Command-Shift-Delete. Now that no longer works.

It isn't about whether it's monospaced, it's about whether the font contains the style variants. Clearly Apple is taking the position of the typographic purist, which means they won't fake a bold or italic like in the old days, they only want to use it if it actually exists.

Problem: Ipod classic won't go from the start up window with the apple on it. I guess you could call it frozen but it is trying to reset itself. I goes off and comes back on about every 10 seconds and you can hear it trying to work.
I tried the update and restore options and neither worked. I was able to get it to go to disk mode but after trying restore and update on seperate occasions, it went back to the same problem as before. Any ideas out there........ other than going to the apple store and getting a new ipod, which I don't mind but this will be my 3rd one in a year if I have to resort to that.

I have a 2011 MBP and a Belkin HDMI cable. I've used the cable to connect to HDTVs and a VVME brand projector. When I connected the cable into my MBP it would always just work. Now, for a brief period my laptop screen goes blue like normal, but nothing appears from my computer to the projection screen, and then my laptop screen goes back to normal. So although the HDMI cable is connected from the projector to my MBP, nothing happens anymore. There isn't a galaxy screen or anything, the screen just says 'No Signal'. Does anyone have any suggestions?

MBP 6,2 late 2010, OSX 10.6.6, Ethernet not detecting cable after waking from sleep. Must restart MBP to get ethernet detect cable. Any ideas? (apart from rebooting when not working).

Will be installing 10.6.7 soon, will let you know if it fixes it.

OK, 10.6.7 update did NOT fix the issue.
So before putting mbp to sleep last night, I did a SMC reset procedure.
This morning when it woke up, it detected the cable immediately.
