Any idea why my Power Mac G5 won't sleep?

It's happening to simultaneously TWO of my G5s -- one is a PCI-E (PowerMac11,2), and the other is PCI-X (PowerMac7,2).
I have wiped the HD in the PCI-X machine, and re-installed the OS, and updated it to 10.5.8. So it's pretty much factory-fresh. But when I select "Sleep" from the [black Apple] Menu Bar, the machines both go quiet for about ten seconds… and then come back to life.
Any ideas?

Generally this is caused by PCI cards or USB devices.
Did it sleep before upgrading? If so it may be an out of date kext or such. Open Console in Applications>Utiilities, try to Sleep it & check Console when it wakes... or the System log for Date/Time of the Sleep attempt.
Another posibilty...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move these files to the Desktop.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.PowerManagement.plist
/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.AutoWake.plist
(Then Trash the original of these last two, as "moving" them only copies them.)

Any idea why my *.mts video files won't play audio in Bridge CS6? Imagery plays fine.

I'm using a Windows & Dual Quad machine.

Here's some more info. The *.mts files from Panasonec GH2 play fine in VLC and WMP. When I tested oher edited files, originating from mts files, and edited in PP-CS5.5 and exported as mp4 files, the audio and video in the mp4 files play just fine in Bridge CS6. Also the audio in mov and avi files play fine in Bridge. Just to see if it had something to do with the file structure on the capture card, I recorded some video with audio and played it directly from the capture card and the audio still wouldn't play. So, it appears that Bridge CS6 currently can't handle the audio in the Panasonid mts wrapper unless I were to transcode it to mp4 or mov, etc. I'm concerned that this might result in some loss of quality, possibly baloon file size, and waste more time than it's worth.
My work around to date is to associate mts files with wmp in Windows 7 (Control Panel\Programs\Default Programs\Set Associations) so that when I double-click on the mts files in bridge, both the audio and video will play OK in wmp and I can move forward.

My Power Mac G5 won't sleep anymore

I have a dual-2.5Ghz G5 with 3GB RAM and a 30 inch monitor. Recently, like in the last couple of weeks, my mac won't go to sleep for good... I hit sleep, and then it takes like 30 seconds, powers down then immediately powers back up again. I'm confused by some of these other posts as to what to do... can anyone help? I have a really amazing brand new machine and this is really annoying.
I have the bluetooth turned off, and the energy saver set not to wake up for anything.

Try trashing these 2 .plist preferences and reboot. Reset your Energy Saver preferences.
HD > Library > Preferences > SystemConfiguration > com.apple.AutoWake.plist & com.apple.PowerManagement.plist
Also, try closing your mail app before sleeping.

I used iDVD to create an IMG file
You created the video DVD, the IMG file, with iDVD and just burned it with Disk Utility. As Klaus1 pointed out Disk Utility can't create video DVDs.

The movie is not in a format that QuickTime Player understands. You may need to install additional software to open this type of file. I took it to the Genius Bar, and they identified it as a hardware issue. Just got it back today. Parts replaced were:
620-5629 Display Module — Symptom: Distored/blurred/focus video issue
605-3284 Top Case with Keyboard — Symptom: specific key(s) do not work
So far so good. I'd suggest taking it in and not trying to work around it — it's a rare hardware issue (given the number of threads about it) and should be replaced.

Yesterday I extracted the subtitles of an MKV file to try and print them. Unfortunately, when I open the .srt file with any text processor, it displays weird characters like the ones included in the title:

Any ideas why this might be or suggestions as to how to solve it?

It looks like an encoding problem. You should try opening the file in a text editor where you can choose one of the various possible cyrillic encodings (utf-8, koi8-r, iso-8859-5, win-1251, MacCyrillic)

The 1G iPod can only go as high as 3.1.3. The 1G does not have an internal speaker or volume buttons on the upper left edge.

Thanks for the clarification on the terms. I consider myself proficent at my computer, but not exactly in its inner-workings! I have 8 GB of memory installed.
I am still confused as to why I do not have any space for the program. This is the exact error message I get: "There is not enough free space on Macintosh HD disk. The Print Shop 2 application requires about 550 MB to be installed. Free some disk space and try again."

When I compose an email in either gmail or yahoo, the cursor lags behind for about 2 seconds. This does not happen when I compose an email with Safari or Chrome. I am using a Mac with Firefox version 3.6.3. Any idea why this happens?

When i plug my ipod into my computer it is not recharging. The computer doesn't even acknowledge that it is plugged in. Any ideas why? It does have power left so i can use it but i want to recharge it of course. Any input is appreicated.

My Mac keeps crashing (whole system) when I'm watching videos with Firefox, any idea why?

Ok so I got a new mac and as usual install firefox which is my favorite browser, suddenly my computer started crashing, not just firefox the whole system froze and I had to reboot to make it work again, I didn't know what was happening until I noticed that said crashes happen when I was watching videos on firefox, I tried to use chrome and the issue was gone. So anyone has any idea why this is happening? I really would love to start using firefox again!

To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:

Any idea why back-up is not happening ? By the way, I do not have the "back up now" option in Setting / iCloud.. Help anyone ?

Try deleting an other icloud backup and see if it will automatically backup.
