Any ideas on good malware scanners? Please.
I know that malware is rare on Macs, but I still would like to have an on-demand scanner, if for no other reason than to bring me peace of mind. I would like one that also scans for windows malware just to be safe.
Do you have any ideas on good malware scanners?
I have tried:
ClamXav from Mac App Store (upon research I found that ClamXav has poor detection rates)
Virus Barrier from the Mac App Store (but it has very poor ratings)
Bitdefender form the Mac App Store (but I heard that it was new and unproven on Mac OSX)
iAntivirus form Mac App Store (its definitions are never updated, so its out)
Avast for Mac (I heard that it doesn't scan for Windows Malware, plus it runs constantly so it slows my system)
I don't know if the negatives above are true, they are just what I have heard. Any feedback?

Sounds like you've only tried antivirus apps that can be found from the Mac App Store, is this the only place you will get AV software? I suggest checking out the list of Mac antivirus from Top Ten Reviews. They have a solid lineup that will be your best options.

Unfortunately, a number of users appear to have encountered this problem. Some of these users have reported that the problem just disappears the following day or shortly after. Other users have found various other solutions to this problem.
Firstly, are you receiving any date and time errors when you turn on your Apple TV?
Check that you are properly connected to the Internet, by ensuring that you have a proper IP address and not one starting with 169. Also check that your location for the iTunes Store is set correctly, if so you might try changing it and then changing it back.
If the problem persists try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds, or resetting it using the reset option under general. You should also try restarting your router, or if this doesn't work you might like to try a restore. -
I have downloaded a series of prison break but 3 episodes are saying "you do not have permission to access the requested resource" and "this episode can not be downloaded at this time" any idea how to fix this please??

It's the 3rd one on Photoshop standard. As Curt implies, each little icon position has several possibilities you can display, allowing you some customization of your Tools panel. Click and hold the mouse button to see each of the choices.

I strongly suspect this is time machine-related. Even though time machine has been turned off, this happens at intervals of exactly one hour.
A single entry appears in the kernel log at the precise moment the (first) popup error box appears. This is:
"AppleSRP started."
Anyone have any clue how to go about diagnosing or fixing this? I don't even mind trying something brute force (short of wiping the HD and reinstalling lion, which I really DON'T want to do; I don't mind a non-destructive reinstall). -
I've just installed Mavericks on my Macbook Pro, which took forever to install, and everything appears to be fine except for iPhoto. When I try and open iPhoto I get a popup saying its not supported by this OS. Anyone have any ideas??? Help please.
Click App Store from your Apple menu drop down menu then select Updates from the App Store menu bar.

I have an iPad mini 16g. It has started jumping through different pages of it's own accord, any ideas how to fix this please?
I recommend starting with a soft reset (pressing both home and power button until you see the apple then let go of the buttons) once you back on the home screen if you iPad still doing the same thing you may want to try a back up and restore

- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:

You may have t opurchase one. Some only do a limited number of transfers without paying.
- Make a backup of yur iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPod under devices in iTunes and selecing Backup.
- Restore the iPod from that backup. -

I recently updated to IOS 5.1.1 and now my iPod touch won't sync music from my pc. It will sync apps though. Any ideas what I should do please?

I have had Aperture since version 1.0 and bought every upgrade. Now I want to transfer the software to my new iMac but I have to enter the original Serial number that I cannot locate. Any ideas what I can do, please?
The original serial number should be in the box with the installer disk.
If you cannot locate the serial number, contact Apple for a replacement serial number. You will need to provide a proof of purchase.

P.S. The menu command "Aperture > About Aperture" will show you your Aperture 3 serial number on your old mac, but not the previous serial numbers. -
Hello I'm upgrading my iPhone 4S tmw to a iPhone 5c , I also have a iPad which I've used iCloud to get pics from phone to iPad, obviously if I delete my phone pics there gonna go from iPad too. Any idea what I can do please?
In addition to the very sound and useful information posted by Lawrence Finch, there is also a way to save the photos from the photo stream to the camera roll on the iPad so that even if the photo stream is turned off, the photos will remain on the iPad.
Launch the photos app and them open the Photo Stream album. Select every photo that you want to save by tapping on them, then tap in the action/sharing icon and select - Save to Camera Roll.
Having said that, the information that Lawrence shared with you is very important and the instructions in both articles are very useful. Make use of them. -
I would share my pics from iPhoto all the time with my friends.... then came Yosemite. Now I can't share from iPhoto or I can't pull up an e-mail and attach a photo. Any ideas how to repair "this" problem? Thank you!
I would send the email it would give me the little line at the bottom and then that would be it. No send. I figured it out I think. I had to log into IClouds. Decide how I wanted my emails delivered (or something like that). Email went through. Fingers crossed it continues working. Thank you Linc!
