A client has asked me to replicate this on a number of titles. I believe this example may have been hand animated but I can't be sure. I've had a good play but can't get near to it using plugins or mask interpolation. Anyone out there got any ideas?
It doesn't like any 3D type technique to me. I turn your text into individual masks, then animate those from the distorted shape down to the final correct shape.

My I pad went black at 56 % battery.I tried charging it but it will not even charge now.Any idea on what happened or how it can be fixed?
Never mind I got it to work by holding down the home and power button for about 15 seconds.

Would this App be safe to install?.I'm not positive since they give scant details on that link - but it looks like it is just a html bookmark with icon. There was (is ?) a BBC podcasts "app" some years ago that was simply that - you downloaded it and got an icon that was nothing more than a bookmark to the BBC's podcast web site. This sounds like something similar, and if so calling it an "app" is a pretty big stretch. You can just fire up safari on your iPhone, go to the web site and it seems you will see everything they have to offer - book mark it yourself by choosing "add bookmark to home screen" and I think you would have everything they will send you but without giving them your phone number.

Messages from one of my contacts shows up on my iPhone but not on my iPad. I don't have similar problems with any of my other contacts. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

Any ideas on how to do a local mirror for this situation?
I'm starting a project to allow ArchLinux to be used on a Cluster environment (autoinstallation of nodes and such). I'm going to implement this where I'm working right now (~25 node cluster). Currently they're using RocksClusters.
The problem is that the connection to internet from work is generally really bad during the day. There's a HTTP proxy in the middle. The other day I tried installing archlinux using the FTP image and I took more than 5 hours just to do an upgrade + installing subversion and other packages, right after an FTP installation (which wasn't fast either).
The idea is that the frontend (the main node of the cluster) would hold a local mirror of packages so that when nodes install use that mirror (the frontend would use this also, because of the bad speed).
As I think it should be better to only update the mirror and perform an upgrade not very often (if something breaks I would leave users stranded until I fix it), I thought I should download a snapshot of extra/ and current/ only once. But the best speed I get from rsync (even at night, where an HTTP transfer from kernel.org goes at 200KB/s) is ~13KB/s this would take days (and when it's done I would have to resync because of any newer package that could have been released in the meantime).
I could download extra/ and current/ at home (I have 250KB/s downstream but I get like ~100KB/s from rsync), record several CDs (6!... ~(3GB + 700MB)/700MB) but that's not very nice. I think that maybe this would be just for the first time. Afterwards an rsync would take a lot less, but I don't know how much less.
Obiously I could speed things a little If I download the full ISO and rsync current using that as a base. But for extra/ I don't have a ISOs.
I think this is a little impractical (to download everything) as I wouldn't need whole extra/ anyways. But it's hard to know all packages needed and their dependencies to download only those.
So... I would like to know if anyone has any ideas on how to make this practical. I wouldn't wan't my whole project to crumble because of this detail.
It's annoying because using pacman at home, always works at max speed.
BTW, I've read that HOWTO that explains how to mount pacman's cache on the nodes to have a shared cache. But I'm not very sure if that's a good option. Hmm... but why do you want to use rsync? You'll need to download the whole repo, which is quite large (current + extra + testing + community > 5.1GB, extra is the largest). I suggest you to download only those packages and their dependencies that you use.
I have similar situation. At work I have unlimited traffic (48kbps at day and 128kbps at night), at home - fast connection (up to 256kbps) but I pay for every megabyte (a little, but after 100-500 megabytes it becomes very noticeable). So I do

at work (especially when packages are big), then put new downloaded files on my flash drive, then put them into /var/cache/pacman/pkg/ at home, and then I only need to do pacman -Sy before installing which takes less than a minute.
I have 1GB flashdrive so I can always keep the whole cache on it. Synchronizing work cache <-> flash drive <-> home cache is very easy.
P.S.: Recently I decided to make complete mirror of all i686 packages from archlinux.org with rsync. Not for myself but for my friends that wanted to install Linux. Anyway I don't pay for every megabyte at my work. However it took almost a week to download 5.1 GB of packages.
IMHO for most local mirror solutions using rsync is overkill. How many users are there that use more than 30% of packages from repos? So why to make full mirror with rsync when you can cache only installed packages? -
My iPhone 4s shuts down at least once a day, usually after I used it or when I'm not using it at all. It will not turn back on unless I reset it (by pressing home/power buttons) and when it turns back on, it runs like nothing happened. I have tried everything I can think of, update iPhone software, iTunes software, troubleshoot on Apple's Support page and reading other user's issues but I haven't seen anything similar. I erased and restore factory settings several times, made different backup attempts and even restored from recovery mode with iTunes. Everything goes great, no error message or anything unusual, until phone is off again, very frustrating. It doesn't seem to have a pattern to it, it happened when no apps were running as well as when a few apps were. The only thing I can think of is I haven't seen this happening when charger cable is plugged it. I don't really care about apps and content on the phone, but my contacts and voicemails are the only reason why I absolutely have to restore from backup, even after setting up a new phone, from iTunes. Other than that phone is brand new, battery is also great, nothing wrong with it (apparently).

I have a new Macbook Air, 6 months old, and for the last few days the fan had run continuously, this is the first time it has ever run, and now it won't stop, the fan starts up as soon as I turn it on and the computer seems to running more slowy.The computer is not hot but I am worried it may burn out,.Any ideas on how I can fix this please ?

Would that PRAM thing help ? I think it may be the computer itself, well something inside, as this the first time that the fan has ever started running since I have this computer, even when I have 3 or 4 apps running.

I had Acrobat Standard 9.5 on a laptop that broke. Adobe Acrobat Standard is paid for and all I need. I had to get a new PC (Windows 8.1) and I did downloaded Standard 9.5 but when I went to install it the installer gave me an “Error applying transforms please ensure specified transform paths are valid”. Any ideas on how to fix this?

I tried the transforms repair and it reported no Acrobat product (correct, none yet installed) or no administrative privileges (I am the administrator and have done previous administrative actions).

When mousing over text, the cursor flickers constantly (with every letter passed) from arrow to i-beam and back. The problem occurs in both MS Word 2011 and Pages. Any idea of how to solve this annoying problem will be much appreciated. System 10.10.1 on a MacPro (Late 2013)
The mouse is controlled by the OS so don't guess any app other than a mouse driver or OS X itself would be able to cause this sort of flicker issue.
Have you seen the following and is it what you are seeing? Maybe you could make a movie (Quicktime is great for this this to make a screen recording) - but not sure how to attach a movie to these discussions as mine is grayed out and can't be selected (to the right of the insert image). So I went and changed the Backup from "let Microsoft choose files, directories, etc" to "Let me choose". I included the files and folders that were being skipped, and ran the "Backup" again, and got the same error message,
but the files that were skipped the first time were "Backed up" finally. This issue is somehow related to my "Libraries"?
The 3 backup problems are:

Did a "checkdisk" - no problems. Ran a program to fix registry - no problems. All updates up to date. I guess I could eliminate these folders from the Backup folders in the
Library, and just choose them under the "Users" locations, and be done with it. But I really want to understand this, and fix it. This is within Windows 7 and may be related to Windows Media Player or
some recent Windows update. Thanks. -
Slo mo videos show entirely in slo mo from beginning to end once transferred in to iPhoto, not in the regular/slo mo/regular speed in iPhone 6 (adjustable). Any ideas on how to maintain this?
Hi. I don´t use Iphoto, but after trying too upload from the Facebook app, I found out that the video isn´t saved as a finished video. (you can still edit it)
I used the iMovie app to save the movie as new finished movie. Open iMovie , those video, select your video, click the share button i down right corner. Push create movie (I guess, mine is in danish) play the movie or not, push the back button, change the name or not, push the share button, save the the movie. Now I think the movie can be exported to iphone. It also can also be shared in the Facebook app i closed groups, so you don´t have to put in on your wall first.

After I have wait for 30 minutes without do anything, the wifi interface worked.
I don't know if Apple could fix the issue on their site or the reboot of the Iphone solved the problem.
I'm installing IOS 6 on the Iphone 4 of my wife. Let's see if the behaviour is the same.
