Any image modifications cause multi-colored bars to appear

This one is as strange as they come. . .
Taking any image (jpg, tiff) and using the smudge tool on it or resizing it will cause repeating multi-colored bars to start appearing inside of the image.
I thought maybe it was just a video card/drawing problem, but it actually gets saved inside of the image.
It's kinda strange, because my MPEG playback has been doing something similar, but I can kill that by reducing video card acceleration. This doesn't go away though.
I've uninstalled, reinstalled -- even upgraded to CS2. Problem still exists. Could it actually be my video card drivers? (nvidia nforce from Oct 7th, 2007)

Problem solved, though it's hard to believe.
This problem has actually been going on for at least 2 years on this computer, and finally just now the right clue came in as a BSOD, naming my sound card driver as the culprit.
Sure enough, I updated my Nvidia sound card driver and I've been running smooth now for a week without a hiccup from this problem.
I can only theorize that the sound card driver was overwriting memory space belonging to the video card driver . . . or something to that effect.

Offline/Missing Image Sequences in After Effects CS6 with Color Bars

I am working on a stop motion animation in After Effects CS6. Each clip has been imported as an image sequence from stills on my hard drive. When I open up After Effects, all image sequences now have color bars over them, as if they are offline. Trying to reload them does nothing. I cannot 'link media' because it isn't just one file; it's an image sequence so there are many of them.
I first noticed this when the color bars appeared in my dynamically linked comps inside of Premiere Pro. Everything played smoothly the first time I opened the project in Premiere CS6, after originating in CS5.5. Then the second time I opened up Premiere, the color bars appeared on the linked comps. I hadn't yet opened up my AE project in CS6 yet, so when I did, AE converted the project and I resaved it.
Any help related to this issue would be greatly appreciated.

Rick, thanks for your advice. I tried this and it worked. The reason I didn't do this before is that, because it is stop motion, I couldn't remember how many frames I had imported for each sequence. For instance, if I shot 54 images and only imported 52 into the sequence, I wouldn't remember which 52 images to import...this might still be causing a problem, but I don't know yet. I think in most cases I imported all the images in a folder, so the image sequences should be fine.
I am having another problem, however. Even though the issue seems to be fixed in AE, it doesn't seem to be fixed in Premiere...each image sequence is dynamically linked from AE, but each dynamically linked comp is still being show with color bars as they did in AE...I think that maybe my Premiere project is still linking to the old CS5.5 AE project, and not the new one opened and saved in CS6...

HT4878 Why is this data chart Timeline multi colored (in About/Storage) and the external drive is only pink?

1. When viewing the Storage Timeline for my Macbook and the External Drive for the Time Machine backup instead of multi-colored bars the data is only showing a one pink one. Is that because it is all "backup" on the external? 2. Is the discrepancy in size the OS being left out? Thanks.

Time Machine makes full backups of the hard drive. If you want to change this, you can open System Preferences > Time Machine > Options, and add excluded items. However, I recommend you to keep backing up the whole drive, so you will be able to restore the whole backup in case of a hard disk failure

Uniform Color across 50+ images with Kodak color bar

Hi,
I shoot 50+ paintings using a Kodak color bar at the bottom of each image, thing is during the shoot the light change from start to finish as the sun moved around, (dumb I know), so is there anyway to get the images to be uniform color across the whole collection. I want to acheive where the color bar is exactly the same in each image?
I shot everything in RAW...

You're going to have to do an individual gray balance on a white or gray patch on every image, as it will not be the same correction for each image. As the light changes it changes color, which is going to be the biggest factor. The changing angles of light reflecting off the paintings can also affect the color rendition. In the end, it really depends on how accurately you need to reproduce the color in the paintings. The more accurate you need to be, the more you will need to make individual corrections in Ps for each image.
When I do this, I correct to the actual painting viewed under a Solux lamp 90 degrees away from my monitor. The best and most accurate color I've seen to date is processing the raw files in CaptureOne and gray balancing to a portion of the white seamless paper in the background. Even complicated paint pigments came right into line with a single click. The input profiles in C1 are truly amazing now.
You may run into problems also with the Kodak color bars themselves. Far too often when you get them looking right, your painting is way off. The pigments used in the color bars react differently to light than the pigments in the painting, and the grayscale steps are never right. They always seem to clip both ends long before you start clipping any detail in your painting.

Does navigation/tab bar support multi-color icons? or only monochrome icons?

No. You can have colour images with no problems. I'm guessing that there's something wrong with your image format.

Need Help Creating A Multi-Colored Background Image??

I'm trying to create a random multi-colored 200 x 200 image that will be used for a tiled background. The attached sample image will illustrated the random effect that I'm trying to acheive just using different colors though. Say if I wanted to use (blue, gold, white and light blue), is there a tool or option in Photoshop that will let me select the multiple colors then automatically generate that random pattern or one similar to it??? Or , is this something that I will have to do on multiple layers using filters, etc. then merge them all together??
Any help will be appreciated.

I think I've come up with something pretty close enough using a combination of Filters (Clouds, Brush Strokes and Noise) once I selected a foreground/background color combination.

The best thing to do would be to create a new style class, say “oddball” and apply it to the odd link like this:
<a href="#" class="oddball">Item 2</a>
Then create a new style in your style sheet named ul.MenuBarHorizontal a.oddball:hover and apply your hover formatting there. At the same time you might as well avoid the inline style (it’s better to avoid them if you can) and create a new style, ul.MenuBarHorizontal a.oddball to handle the normal state of the odd menu item.

Multi colored Graduated Bar

I'm looking for a way to make a multi colored Graduated Bar. Basically like the original Slide I've got a picture of. But basically having three different fill colors. Green at the bottom. Yellow in the middle, and red at the top.
I found one post on the boards that could change the entire fill color depending on the level. But that's not quite what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the VI. This progress bar is going to come in handy for something I want to do.
I am reposting it with one modification. I found that if you were in green or yellow, the red bar would just appear at the very bottom and flicker a bit. When you moved into red, all looked good.
I reordered the 3 sliders so that green was #3, and red was #1. That way the unused sliders of yellow or red, would appear under the green one and show smooth transition no matter what the level was.
Quick question. Is there a way to control how tall the individual segments of the bar are? I see if you make the total slider taller, you can get more segments, shorter - less. But an individual segment is always about 10 pixels tall. I would like to get a relatively shorter slider with a height of about 60, but have it show up with 15 segments. So a segment might be 3 pixels high with a 1 pixel separator.
I can't find a property node for this, or a way to customize the control to do this.

I save image as "transparent" at File > New... but when I place on a gradient background it keeps appearing white. I'm trying to save transparent to be effective on any color such as a gradient or black. How do I truly save as transparent?

Put the logo on its own layer set the layer fill to 0 and add a layer style to the logo layer. Here I duped one change fill to 0 added style.

I downloaded the web developer tool bar and after using it my images are gone. I use google and a home page and the big google is gone. I uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it but I still don't have any images. How can I get them back?

Two days ago I downloaded the web developer tool bar (aus2.mozilla.com). I tried to use it but gave up. I deleted the tool bar.
I don't have any images anymore. I use Google.com as my home page (default) and the large GOOGLE isn't there anymore. I've also noticed some of the sites I use don't have the continue or next or enter keys anymore. It seems the only thing I have now is the text.

Are you sure you are looking at the Google page?? In Firefox 4.0 the default homepage / Start Page in Firefox was changed to '''about:home''' which looks a lot like the former www.google.com/firefox homepage.

I don't see any images in my mozilla even after installing Personas themes. Applying themes changes only color.

Installing any theme just changes the color of browser nothing else.
Please help me with this.

If images are missing then check that you aren't blocking images from some domains.
*Check the permissions for the domain in the current tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"
*Check that images are enabled: Tools > Options > Content: [X] Load images automatically
*Check the exceptions in "Tools > Options > Content: Load Images > Exceptions"
*Check the "Tools > Page Info > Media" tab for blocked images (scroll through all the images with the cursor Down key).
If an image in the list is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box "<i>Block Images from...</i>" then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.
There are also extensions (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images.

Color Bars and Monitor Calibration

Hy,
Trying to calibrate my monitors using the FCP internal color bars is completely different from using the camera's color bars...!
What is your experience in that?
I absolutely dislike the image I get on my monitors when I try to calibrate it with the internal Bars. Actually I almost can't get the lower right, light gray stripe come visible. I have to push the brightness to the maximum and the image is terrible.
On the other hand, using a recorded camera's bars, it looks nice.
What's up?

Are you saying you are using PAL clour bars to adjust your Mac computer displays?
If you are, then that is wrong
You can only calibrate computer monitors using a computer display profiling system using a probe.

If you are adjusting a PAL monitor, you should use, preferably a test signal generator, or the bars connected direct from the camera to the monitor
Dont use Final Cut Pro or bars recorded to tape as the test signal, you must iliminate any interference to the signal caused by misaligned electronics.
