Oh, no! Aren't we good enough? — I guess not. There's always the manual, but I see what you mean.
There are loads of Logic tutorials on YouTube, although the quality is variable. I don't understand why these people don't edit out the mistakes & the bits where nothing happens for 30 seconds… it's not as if they aren't already using the very tools they need for exactly that job!

Will Apple release any iOS6 Guided Access video tutorials?

Hi,
I am a Developmental Therapist that uses the iPad with families affected by autism and sensory processing disorder. After exploring many features this morning, I think families and individuals affected by disability really need a series of video tutorials that show everything you can do to support children and adults. Guided Access is AMAZING and a Game Changer for those affected by disability! I only wish that a screen did not pop-up telling the user to hit the home botton 3 x to unlock the screen! Many children with autism are fantastic readers and will be able to get out of the screen making BubCaps still necessary.

when I try to run a Maxl script against an ASO application to aggeragate the cube. I end up with an error msg as shown below.
ERROR - 1270031 - Failed to select any new views or all views that you requested to build exist already.
Please guide me on what caused this issue.

If you re-run this statement and there are already aggregated views then the chances are it will not find anymore views that would keep it within the 1.5 limit. So you can do as Glenn suggested and drop the aggregations and re-run your script, or you can up the 1.5 to 3.0 or something**.
** Obviously this means that more disk space will be taken up by your ASO cube.

Apple provides repeat downloads as a convenience, not a substitute for your computers being the primary source of file transfers. All your iTunes information such as playlists, ratings, etc. are in a file on your computer, not in the Apple Store. Typically when you move computers you copy the whole iTunes folder and everything it contains to the new computer. Moving media files can be done with a drive, or by Home Sharing. You can also redownload media but let's say somebody desiced Apple may no longer sell a certain album; it cannot be downloaded again but if you already have it on a computer you can move your copy of the file.
5 authorizations: Some households have multiple computers. If you want ot use one with an account it has to be authroized. It means you can use any computer in the house to make purchaes, etc.

Can I now delete/uninstall Logic Pro 9 safely now that I have Logic Pro X?

Is it ok to delete the application Logic Pro 9 now that X is installed without affecting anything?

There shouldn't be any problems when uninstalling Logic 9, but in my opinion this is not necessary. Logic 9 does not claim that much space on your HD and it will coexist rather unnoticed along LPX. You'll gain availability of a 2nd DAW wherein you still can run 32 bit plugins, work on old projects incase LPX has trouble translating them and you'll have functionality available which has been left out in LPX. My advice would be to leave it where it is.

Any Good FREE FCP Video Tutorials Like LiveTypeCentral Do For LT ?

Recently my attention was drawn to some very good FREE video tutorials provided by LiveTypeCentral:-

I don't need them of course ....... they are just for friends! (If you believe that you'll believe anything).
Incidentally I have done a search and had a look at the Creative Cow ones, but they tend to be on somewhat random esoteric subjects.
I am looking for something that starts with the basics of the apps.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear.
I mainly wanted freely available tutorials that I could direct others to on the FCE and other forums. Frequently newcomers don't know where to start, and I don't have time to write a new manual, so it is very efficacious to be able to point them to a site with free tutorials.
That LiveType source I quoted is excellent. So now, basically all I am looking for is a similar one for Soundtrack and FCE/FCP.
The first one you linked is probably fine except for the download time which would probably have taken several hours per tutorial, which is going to put off many newcomers looking for a quick-fix.
I must admit I also like looking at tutorials (I never used to!) because every one of them has a different angle and it's surprising what you can pick up, that you have missed in others.

I bought Logic Pro 9, January this year, and saw that the song Helena Beat by Foster the People included as a demo project.
I wonder if there are any other demo projects available for download somewhere? Helena Beat isn't exactly the kind of music I am composing, so it would be great if there were any other genres available somewhere.

Both books are from Peachpit Press and come with a DVD

Logic Pro for Video Use

Is it worth learning Logic Pro to manage the audio tracks in video?
My video isn't that complicated when it coms to audio, but I do have to manage outdoor audio tracks with music and voiceover. Frequently I have to deal with audio that has problems in need of correction that FCPx strains to handle.
I'll never use Logic Pro to record music, so is it worth buying and learning just to manage audio tracks in video?

Don't get the extra RAM from Apple. (Too expensive.) Get the minimum RAM from Apple, and go to Crucial or somewhere similar. It's an easy DIY job to upgrade RAM.

Logic Pro 9.1 64bit - THANK YOU!!!

Just wanted to thank Apple for providing this 64bit option, very much appreciated and even more so that it runs extremely well on my older (2007) MacPro.
I don't use 3rd party plug-ins as I've never needed to go outside of what Logic provides (except maybe for 96Hz 24bit recorded samples).
I've found the 9.x releases/updates to be considerably more stable than any prior version of Logic Pro. And it seems to work better with the kind of work I do. I've loaded it up with some pretty heavy hitting projects (surround sound) and it has never crashed nor failed me.
The only issue I've had was with a "stuck" midi message, but that's probably not Logic's fault -- and if that's the worse I've seen since the release of LP9, then I consider this a HUGE success for Apple and big improvement.
What I would like to know, and the real reason for my post -- the 64bit mode seems to be able to utilize my 2 X 2 (4 cores) better than 32bit mode. Were there any changes to multi-threaded CPU support? In the performance meter (the one in LP9), I see all 4 of my cores working nicely and virtually no disk I/O any more. When I was running in 32bit mode, I'd get more Disk I/O activity and only see 2 cores being used.

I would say that it makes sense things work better with 64 bit, since both the Processor (Xeon) as well as the OS (Snow Leopard) were designed for 64-bit.

Apple discontinued DVD Studio Pro three/four years ago. You can probably find copies from private sellers, but whether it will work without problems on OS X 10.9 I don't know. I don't know of any "professional" alternative to DVDSP for Mac, but someone else here may be able to offer suggestions.
As to iDVD, it should work under Mavericks, depending on what version of iDVD you're running. You might ask for assitance in the iDVD forum. For alternatives to iDVD, see this page for suggestions:

Every other time I type cmd k for keyboard in Logic Pro X, the track that is selected is muted.

The title kind of says it all. Every other time that I press the shortcut for onscreen keys, the selected track is muted. By that I mean if I press cmd+k it brings up the keyboard unmuted, then press cmd+k to get rid of it and it's still fine, but the next time I press cmd+k to bring the keyboard back up, the track is muted.
Only noticed this today, and don't know what I did. Please Help!

Figured it out! On the menu bar I clicked Logic Pro X > Control Surfaces > Learn Assignment for "Mute", which meant that I Mute was the last command that I had clicked on. In the (No Zone) section, there was a Learned Assignment, and I simply clicked delete and it disappeared. Now everything is just fine.

My app Be Funky does not open. Any problems that you know of?

I have an iPad with the iOS8.0 version, with an available capacity of 19.4 GB (serial number DN*******VD2 - model MD329LL/A)
Have been using the app Be Funky for a long time and since two days ago it will not open.
I have tried powering off and on the IPad and also unloading and reloading the app. and it still does not open.
Any problems with this app that you may know of?

Any auto marking in browser to let you know you used a clip?

I know there is the duplicate frame function that will show you if you put a clip (frames) into the timeline twice, but is there anything in the browser that shows a mark next to a clip that
indicates you've used that clip in the timeline already...so you know before you put it in again?

That is not a feature of the iPhone (or of any phone I've ever had). It seems to be a Nokia thing as it's always past users of Nokia phones who ask about it. With my carrier, there is a beep at the end of every ring it the person is already on the call but no indication on the phone itself.
