Any luck with a HP DeskJet 895cxi?

Dear all,
I try to print to my 895cxi via USB. It is immediately recognized by "Printer Setup" utility, however, either it prints rubbish or nothing.
I tried to use the cups admin page (web browser to localhost:631) directly, but still no luck.
Apple says the printer is supported. Anybody any hint?
Thanks a lot!

  • Any luck with a 3.1.3 fix? Aside from the one(s) that have yet to work

Any luck with 3.1.3 anyone? I am captive to a wi-fi connection and its getting really annoying not being able to use the 3g service when I leave my house. The solution(s) provided so far have done nothing to fix the problem. This is in regards to apps crashing and no internet service while on the iphone 3g network.

I have tried all the fixes suggested multiple times then went to apple store and the guy told me I should buy a new phone? Just hoping the issue isn't dead as it still seems to be a problem for some, lots of threads about it still being reported as an issue.

  • Any luck with Sigma X3F raw files and 1.1?

I am still waiting to switch to Aperture as 1.0 did not support the Sigma SD-10/SD-9 raw files (.X3F).
Any luck with the latest 1.1 version? It is great that Apple revised the price on it but I still have to wait for X3F support because my camera only shoots in RAW. Converting may not be worth the effort and extra time...

    Nope, no X3F support yet.
You can still use the program pretty well just by exporting 16-bit TIFF files from PhtooPro, just export in batch with corrections set to auto.

  • 10.4.7: Any luck with SOCKS Servers?

So, seen as though Mail.app now has SOCKS support (apparently).
Has anyone had any luck getting a SOCKS server working with Mail?  All I get if I put our SOCKS server details into the Network setup is Mail.app failing on every account - including the single internal mail account that always worked without the SOCKS server (and it's address is added to the disclude list).
Just thought I'd start a post about it.

Well it now works with ssh's dynamic forward NOW, which i put a report in about 2 weeks ago.

  • Any luck with windows support software?

    Hi
Has anyone had any luck getting past the windows support software not being available on the Apple server? I've got a 17" late 2006 imac and have lion running on it (10.7.4), plus windows 7 home edition but I cannot get the software to download I have tried the old drivers bootcamp 3.3 as I had read you can load those then update but that comes up with the message that the drivers on my machine dont need the update! All very frustrating i should also add that I'm not at all technically minded, any help would be much appreciated...

BCA is the "update" method from 3.3 to 4.0
you can't get there from 3.3 inside Windows
    you don't need 4.x drivers on a 2006
if it ain't broken don't fix it
As to why BCA in Lion won't... mystery. Sometimes network settings, sometimes a user has installed Norton and have trouble - which would be the firewall and web access port BCA tries to use is not configured properly.
If I were you I would be sure to buy and use WinClone 3 $20 to make a backup image of Windows to another hard drive (not your OS X boot drive) and then keep that in case you need to restore or reinstall Windows.
Other than graphic driver (AMD etc), security and normal Windows updates, there is nothing from Apple that would help.

  • Any luck with ringtones...???

Anyone had any lucky with creating ringtones using iTunes with windows 7? or is there any external program that is safe that i could make them with?

Creating a ringtone with the iTunes ringtone creator which can be used with a song downloaded from the iTunes store that is also licensed to be used as a ringtone only?
Or manually creating a ringtone with a song or sound file using iTunes which can be used with a non-DRM protected song or music file?

So can anyone out there with a PERFECT iPad 2 come forward and show some pictures to prove this guy is wrong!
I have two 64GB AT&T Black with absolutely no display imperfections. No white spots, no yellow discoloration, no dead pixels, no light bleeding. I'd say the salesman was a salesman.
I 'tested' my displays by taking a picture with the camera lens covered and displaying it in the photo app. I couldn't tell any difference between that and the black with the unit turned off.
Edited to add: I ordered these online at 6:55pm PDT Mar 11 and received them at 10:20am Mar 29.

  • Anyone have any luck with steam and wine

im trying to get any steam to work with wine and so far i've had no luck.
i have a 512 ATI RADEON X1600 graphics card and im using the open source ati driver.
have had some success with counterstrike 1.6.  I start a game (local) but it is extremely choppy/laggy.
does anyone have any pointers on how to get it to run more smoothly?

I don't know how well the open source drivers are going to handle games, catalyst may work better but you will have to use the legacy driver (here) for an X1600, and it doesn't work with the most recent kernel.

  • Any luck with older webcams on Vista?

I'm about to get a Webcam NX Pro - PD30 from a friend. I am currently using Vista so I wanted to know if a anyone had luck using it with the older Windows XP drivers.

I have a T61p with the FX570 internal card, 4Gb RAM, 80Gb HDD, running Windows Vista 64 bit Ultimate edition.  Since Vista (64) will only support one video driver, I had to remove the X1300 that I had in the dock for XP Pro (32).  So I bought the FX570 (PNY VCQFX570-PCIE-PB 256M RT ) from NewEgg and dropped it in.  In Vista, I had to delete the internal card from Device Manager and reinstall the Driver Suite from Nvidia.  The Suite picked up both cards and I chose to use the Dock as primary.  I did not have to change ANY BIOS settings, I left those alone.  I used the card's CD to load the drivers, NOT Lenovo's.  I do not use the NVidia Control Panel to change any settings, just Vista's Adapter Properties.  Both monitors are running at full res (1920x1200 @ 32bit), both are DVI connected and both are 24" Dell's.
    * I ran the exact same setup in Windows XP, with the execption of FX570, with no issue at all.*
    * When you install the card in the dock, you will need to "tweak" it in the slot to move the fan away from the underside of the dock.  If you don't the on-board fan will contact the dock and make a heck of a racket!*

  • Any luck with graphics cards on the advanced dock?

Looking for some advice on which graphics card to purchase for use with the Lenovo advanced dock. I've tried - unsuccessfully - to use the ATI Radeon HD 3650 from VisionTek. The dimensions were right and the card fits, but I'm having no luck getting it to work.
Has anyone gotten this or another ATI graphics card to work with the advanced dock? There is very little documentation on this. Do I have to downgrade the graphics card to the X1300? The HD 3650 has a better spec, incl 512Mb vs 256Mb on the X1300.
    Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

  • Just Not Having Any Luck With E-Mail Address, ect.

    Kuduo,
First off thank you so much for just doing this!!! I have been dealing with the company, and it's a nightmare!
I am still getting nowhere as far a establishing a e-mail address for the e- what ever it's called on my printer.
I have a new hp photosmart all in  one D 110 A, and I finally did get it to work without using a usb cable, even
if the print out tells me that I should change it as I caould have others use, see my things. I do use my wire-
less computer(laptop) to obtain a connection, and get a very good one from some new neighbor. I do not
want to chage it, and the report at one point even said it was "critical"
I have printed out several time the things it tells you to, but have yet to see any e-mail address???!!! So just
what  is the scoope on this anyway?
I do know that it took me forever , and also alone to even figure out how to use my printer without the usb cord,
and for now she is working fine.
The one problem is that it does start to print off the wall, and also I hace change the settings 10 times from
color to black, but it only goes back to prihting COLOR!!!!!
Thanks For  Your Help In Advance
    Debbie

  • Any luck with user exit BCS2S?

I am trying to enhance the partner master data on a CRM 4.0 system and replicate these data to the R/3 backend. This seems to work up to a point. My goal is to implement the R/3 field KNVV-PERFK in CRM, allowing users to maintain customer data in CRM, rather than R/3.
I have implemented note 454565 but at the time where the inbound data from CRM is triggering a call to PI_BP_CALL_EXIT_BCS2S_RD, my problem is that nothing happens if I try to manipulate the values of IT_XKNVV in the debugger. Another problem is that  CT_BAPIMTCS is not filled even though this internal table supposedly should contain the enhanced business document from CRM.
Could some BTE-customizing be missing? Or is something else wrong? I have not been able to find any SAP notes that could help me further and so far SAP support has not responde to our customer message.
Thanks in advance and best regards,
    Anders

    Hi Christene,
I am not sure how this is possible with processeing of a TO with multiple lines.I tried testing this and has stopped when it comes to process a TO with multiple lines.I had to come out of interleaving function and process the TOs with system guided process.
I appreciate if you could explain me more in details. Are you saying without using the user exit , we can execute multiple lines of a TO with interleaving function ?
Thanks for your time in advance

  • TS1363 I'vw tried everything here multiple times, anyone have any luck with another non-apple generated solution?

Any time I try to connect to itunes, windows recognizes the ipod, but it never comes up in itunes. When the bubble for "trust" or "dont trust" comes up, I tap trust. Then I hear the window sound for disconnecting something from a usb port. I tried all the apple solutions, nothing helped at all. Anyone have any ideas? I tried full restoring the ipod too, and now I've got an empty ipod that I cant connect to itunes....fantastic...

After having communicated with Bose extensively over the last two months I'm pretty sure there is no solution to this.  Bose are not the only phones that exhibit this, but there are only a handful that do and they all support multi-link technology in BT 4.0.  One theory is that in searching for other devices to link is what causes the skipping, but in none of these is there an option to turn off multi-link (which might be the solution).
The good news is that CES has introduced a TON of new BT headphones, and we'll see these come to market this spring.  One or more of them may well work for folks (for audiophiles the best looking one so far is Sennhesier's Momentum series, already a respected model among wired sets, the BT version is getting excellent early reviews.  But pricey).  Unless you need something immediately my advice would be to wait a few months and see what comes out.
You are correct that Powerbeats have sync issues -- sync issues are common with bluetooth but some makers do better than others.  My portable BT receivers, for example, have excellent sync across all apps.  But as I noted above, this isn't a good solution for those on the go (pairing a portable BT receiver with otherwise wired phones -- although if folks are interested my new favorite is the Fidelio X2/27 model with these.  Truly audiophile level sound, at a reasonable price.  But not something I'd take out of the house :>).

  • Anyone have any luck with merging libraries?

    i'm merging two itunes libraries.
trying not to create duplicates, but i think this is impossible.
so i am going to use the view duplicates option and then click date added.
i'll let you know how it works, but if anyone can help with anything faster, please let me know.

I'm having some problems migrating from JRE1.3.1 based JavaBean-ActiveX control. There were non-trivial changes required for EventDescriptor for the events thrown by the bean. However after successfully creating 1.4.2 based ActiveX control, I'm getting following exception:

  • Anyone have any luck with the tascam 144?

i am buying a tascam 144 usb interface in about a week cus someone told me it worked well with garage band but now i am having second thoughts cus i have read that a lot of people have trouble getting garage band to recognize it. anyone got any advice?
also how do you turn the volume of a track up during the mastering process, without clipping, so that your song is as loud as a commercial cd?
    thanks

    don1212 wrote:
i am still a bit confused though
can someone explain how compression or limiting raises the volume cus a i am stil new : )
Compression is confusing, and people are often confused by what it does and how it works, so you’re not alone! It’s also used in a number of ways for different purposes, many of them “so that’s how they do that!” familiar, and others not so obvious. It’s been an essential part of the recording process throughout the history of recording, and great compressors, like great guitar amps, are sought-after pieces of gear.
To understand conceptually how compressors work to make things louder (which isn’t their only use, but is the topic of the thread), you need to understand the difference between peak and average levels. Average volume levels are what give you a sense of how loud the music is, peak levels are the occasional spike. A peak level may be so short, you barely perceive it.
When you raise the volume level on the whole track to the point just underneath clipping, it’s going to look to the peaks, and bring them up to the top of the volume scale. Everything else (and average levels) are going to be below that. If you tried to raise the volume any higher to get average levels higher – so it sounds louder – you would be lifting your peak levels into the clipping range. And clipping is bad.
So, the trick is to lower the volume on just the peaks so you can raise the volume on the entire track and make the average levels louder. Compression does that by kicking in above a threshold that you set (or is set in the preset), and lowering levels above that threshold by a certain ratio. If the settings are gentle, you may not notice it. If the settings are aggressive, you may not only notice it, but it can create ugly artifacts. In any case, above a certain threshold, it restrains the volume, taming the peaks.
After it tames the peaks (which may incidentally, be only a few imperceptible spikes) the audio flows into a “makeup gain” stage that’s essentially a volume knob. When first compressed, with reduced peaks, the track is no louder than it was before – and with lower peaks may even be softer. However, with the lowered peaks, the makeup gain stage is able to raise the overall volume higher than before, since (if you can picture it) there’s less distance between the new shorter peaks, and where most of the song volume lives below them. So first the compressor squashes the peaks, then the makeup gain can bring everything up... even higher.
Turning off normalize is kind of a “cheat” because it works by allowing you to bring the peaks into clipping (and therefore raise the overall level). In other words, rather than tame the peaks, you let them clip. Because some songs (and people) will tolerate some clipping, it’s a fast and easy way to raise the volume. Artful use of compression and limiting (which is extreme compression above a certain threshold) can get you to the same place without clipping.
Compressors are also often used on voice and instruments to “fatten them up” where the goal isn’t necessarily to make things louder, but to make things sound fuller by lifting up the low-level stuff that might be otherwise inaudible.
Compressors are not without their price. If you overuse a compressor, the dynamic range can be squashed into lifelessness. Also (and particularly with bad compressors), you can sometimes hear the action of the compressor when it kicks in above a certain threshold, and when it releases below it, what's called "pumping."
You might want to check out some other sites on the net to really understand the concept because once you understand it, you can use it to shape the sound of your tracks in powerful ways, and avoid pitfalls.
But I wouldn’t worry about it too much! Understand it as much as you can, but if you just dive in and do it, and use your ears to determine what sounds good or bad to you, you can learn by doing pretty quick.
