Any Material locked for transactions due to errors in Material Ledger?

We are implementing Material Ledger for actual costing purpose. After ML implemention, will there be any situation due to errors in costing run, or otherwise, that the material is locked for any further transaction? Is such kind of threat exists under any situation?

Dear Sanjay,
I don't think you will face any problem after succesfully completion of actual cost run.
Situation can be totally opposite...I mean to say while costing run you might face problem of material locking.
There could be problem if transaction in material is happening and same time cost run is going on. or if cost run is going on and the same time somebody is trying any transaction.
It is always suggested to run cost cycle in the night or lock the user id's while cost run.

Production Order with follow-up material unble to save due to error CKBK009

Dear Expert,
When we apply discontintion/follow-up material setting, production order is not able to save. Error message "CKBK009 - No price could be determine for material.....".
SAP Help indicates :
"No price could be determined for material .......... Message no. CKBK009
Diagnosis :
The system could not determine a price for valuation view 0, because no valuation
strategy succeeded from valuation variant 006.
System Response :
Since the input quantity is zero for this material item, the costing result is not
affected by this error at the pricing stage.
The standard system defines this message as an error message. However, you
can use user-defined error management to specify that the message is a warning
or an information message, or that it is not issed at all.
However, in Controlling's User-Defined Error Management, CKBK009 is already warning only.
What other setting is needed ?

Dont have any sound at my computer due to error code 39.

I have not sound at all. At Device manager I see yellow marked devices, giving me the code error 52 ("Windows
cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)").
So, I unistalled and re-installed but nothing. Still yellow marked. I did the Recovery thing (a couple of times using different dates ) but it did not complete successfully.
So I disable driver verification, while i was restarting my computer and now im getting the code 39("Windows
cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)").
it's that C:\Windows\System32\drivers\ktshunk.sys which is not getting verified. Any ideas?

Lock for transaction code.

i have created screen executed with Transaction code,having few Controls inside screen.
As soon as I enter action(click push button) inside the screen.(ie Transaction code), this transaction screen should be locked, and other users should not use the transaction simultaneously in the present System.
I have to do it inside the ABAP coding. could you please help me how to do it.

Handling Locking for transaction in Middle Tier versus Database backend

Hi,
If we implement middle tier with C# as the programming language and backend as SQL Server database, if we now wanted to implement locking where we take the classic case of money withdrawal from a bank account, we could implement this as a single atomic transaction
using locks / monitor in the middle tier or we could do this in a stored procedure and handle it using a begin tran commit tran in SQL Server.
What would be the recommended way? middle tier or sql server database backend?

NEED AGENT activate data feature like customer service has for months due to error

for the last 4 months customer service thru email has had to activate data after my plan renews i just found out the email option is gone. I did a diagnostic check and this part came up. I think the BIS
service is not connecting but i think it's on verizon's side. Each
time the customer service agent turned on data on verizon's side it
fixed the problem.

I have installed Designer 6i without any errors and warnings. I can create workareas and folders. But when I try to create an application system and any kind of models the errors will occur.
I have seen the similar message in this forum but it has been unreplied.
Please help.

Different material group for two CO companies with same material no.

We are implementing another CO company in COPA. The issue is that both companies use the same materials number, but in COPA grouping categories (MATKL) must be different . I was thinking in using another category, but is there another option?

Hi,
By definition the materials should have the same material group (operationg concern - same market grouping).
However, if you have this as business requirement you need to first identify a field to store this. and then you an also use exit / derivation rule to replace the value with a condition on the company code. Advantage you have reduced the use of one more characteristic in CO-PA.

e.g Material Group : 101
User : ADMIN
Our requirement is that the user should not be able to select material group 101 in

ORA-12008: error in materialized view refresh path with ORA-01652

I have a temp tablespace with 2 tempfiles of 2GB each (total 4GB) but still refresh of materialized view is failing with following error:

ORA-01652: unable to extend temp segment by 128 in tablespace TEMP1
I checked and temp ts is completly filled

My question is how do I find out how much space I need for temp tablespace. what 's the best practise to size temp tablespace when running refresh. refresh is done by client who is submitting a request thru ebiz apps so I 'd like to size it correctly without having to keep guessing.

Temp tablespace size depends how much sort by , order by operation your application performing. You can create new temp tablespace and drop old one with bigger file size
CREATE TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP02 TEMPFILE '\mypath_to_temp\TEMP02' SIZE 256M REUSE AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 256M MAXSIZE 8192M EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL;
ALTER DATABASE DEFAULT TEMPORARY TABLESPACE TEMP02;

i have a problem with an user in my office when opening an excel file from Server:
“<file_name>.xlsx is locked for editing” . The error shows that it is being used by its own user and that user could not open this file.
- Our company is domain network and our Domain Controller is also File Servers.
* I got a workaround action plan is: "unshared the folder which contains the problematic files in server, then share it again". However, this only works with folders which contain a small volume of data. For several GB it will take a considerable
time and affect to network availability.
I have few questions:
1. Is there anyway to kill the process/service which is controlling the "excel files" at server ? ( Since i reboot client machine but the error message still persists), beside my workaround action plan.
2.When i use OpenFilesView (from the link: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/opened_files_view.html) i can see that the excel files is opened by 2 process : "xlsx and xls" from remote computer. However, i can not kill the process using OpenFilesView.
So i would like to ask: Is there any way to kill a process from remote host?
3. What actually happens when sharing a files from Server in domain ? ( mechanism of sharing files)
I would appreciate if you can give me some advices for my concern.

Also, below KB article describes the way that how Excel saves files, you might also want to take a look. There may be some softwares or process is accessing these temporary files. Check if there is any temporary file (~$filename.xls
or ~$filename.xlsx) in the shared folder, delete them and try again.

Hi Greetings!
I have the following issue.
I need to make the message "Procurement of material & blocked for quality reasons" as Error message . Message number - 00 06 883.
This will not allow to create PO , if the "Blocking Function" - 02 "Block Request and Purchase order " is set in the QM info record.
Even though i ahve set this message as "Error" in the configuration ( Materials Management --> Purchasing --> Define Attributes of System Messages), i am getting only warning message during PO creation.
Can you please let me know if am missing any setting.

GO to material master of that item go to .. PURCHASING VIEW there is a Plant specific material status chk if that is 01- blocked for production 02- blocked for BOM chk and change it then system will allow you to purchase the parts.

Runtime Exception for Transaction MEREP_MON

Can you please help me solving this problem?
For last 3 days I am getting runtime exception for Transaction MEREP_MON. Error description is Time limit Exceeded.
This is coming only for Direction Outbound ( When I chcking OutBound Checkbox) at the top left corner.
For Inbound and Distribution it is working fine.
I tried with MEREP_PURGe and purging all inbound and outbound data.

I changed the mapping. I removed the ABS function. It's still throwing the same error. Now when I copy the payload from SXMB_MONI and test in Mapping in ESR, it's working fine. But the same source file throws error in SXMB_MONI. The xml that works in Test tab should certainly work in SXMB_MONI also, shouldn't it?
So I guess it is a different error.
Runtime exception occurred during application mapping com/sap/xi/tf/_MM_INFRECMASS_ECC_to_MDM_; com.sap.aii.mappingtool.tf7.MessageMappingException: Runtime exception when processing target-fieldmapping /ns0:MT_INFRECMASS_Receiver/INFREC_Receiver
I must add that the INFREC_Receiver is the root node of the target file and I have kept it 0..unbounded and fields 0...1. But the source has many segements of the Idoc, so should I change them ?
