    What mobile printers are supported?

The iPad prints via WiFi, not Bluetooth.  Unless it was recently added, I'm not aware of any mobile printers that support AirPrint.  See Apple's list of AirPrint printers at <iOS: AirPrint 101>.
Several others have asked about mobile printers that work with an iPad.  One approach is to use an AirPrint printer with a DC-to-AC inverter in your vehicle.  By setting up its WiFi to host an Ad Hoc network, you could print directly to the printer and would not need a router.  However, a router could be powered by the same inverter if you want.
I think a small 100 Watt DC-to-AC inverter that plugs into a lighter socket, should be powerful enough, depending on how much power your printer uses.

  • What is the best and least expensive wireless printer for ipad2?

What is the best and least expensive wireless printer for ipad2?

Do you mean a external cd/dvd drive that connects by usb port? If you do then any brand will work. It does not have to be a apple brand for it to work on your mac. Most go for around $30 in the usa.
I use a asus brand that cost me just under $30. Works on any computer it is connect to.

  • Looking for a mobile printer for my car/ on the road work for my IPAD2

Looking for a printer I can use in my car and where ever necessary.

I've been happily printing for a while from my iPad to my battery-operated HP H470 with absolutely no wires (and no router / pre-existing WiFi connection - it operates in AdHoc mode). Literally just the iPad and the H470 - in fact, one time in a marquee in the middle of a muddy field with no power and a long way from the nearest WiFi connection, so it can be done from literally anywhere.
Once I'd sorted it all out, I wrote down the solution and the steps to get it to work in the hope of helping others:

  • Mobile Printing with ipad2

I am trying to develop a business system with ipad2 as the core tool. We Generate pdf documents and  email to most end users however the problem is that some clients will need a hard copy printed pdf file. Our staff are mobile in remote locations without access to mains power. The solution is a mobile printer that can utilise "AirPrint" but who makes such a thing? Anybody... Help...

There is a solution ... I also couldn't find any info on a true mobile printing solution for iPad (or iPhone/iPod for that matter) but felt sure it must be possible, somehow - so once I'd sorted it all out, I wrote down the solution and the steps to get it to work in the hope of helping others:

  • IPhone4 used as mobile hotspot for iPad2

This option (at $20/mo for 2gb) seems the most economical but what are the downsides?
Can I still use the phone at the same time for incoming/outgoing calls?
Can I turn off the "hotspot" button to conserve useage?
Would it be better to just get a monthly data plan for the iPad alone (@ $20/mo for 1gb or $35 for 3gb)?
If I do use it as a hotspot, should I then get just the WiFi version of the iPad2?

You cannot use the phone for calls while you are using the hotspot for data. That's a limitation of CDMA. Calls will take priority over data. I have read, but can't personally confirm, that data use on the phone while the hotspot is in use counts against the 2GB. If you plan to always have your phone with you when you want 3G data on the iPad, then you can save money by buying the WiFi version and using the hotspot. If the devices will be separated, for example use by a family member, then you may want the 3G model. You need to think about how and where you are going to use the iPad to make the best decision.

  • How do i set up mobile printing

how do i set up mobile printing ?

    @angelsmith4,
The best way to setup mobile printing for your devices is:
Go to the Setup menu (wrench icon) on your printer.
Go to the Web Services menu.
    Enable web services.
After which, an information page should print out with a three setup process.
    Sign up at ePrintCenter.com.
Register your printer's ePrint code (it will be on the information page on step two).
    Customize your printer's ePrint address.
Now you can print on the go by emailing your printer from your device, and addressing the email to your printer's ePrint address.
If I have solved your issue, please feel free to provide kudos and make sure you mark this thread as solution provided!

  • HP470WBT the best  mobile print to Iwork

The program Airprint should accept one more print, the only portable printer for documents existing in the West at the moment (not invoices and pictures) without being linked to a computer or wireless network, bluetooth only by her HP470WBT the printer is from HP, after all Ipad came for: complete mobility, be used in place of the netbook (with bluetooth HP470WBT that works perfectly), use professional work beyond fun, Where the person is going to go with portable printer, you print what you want (pictures, * iWork documents can edit pages in a contract on the client and print the new version in portable printer on time and sign with the client *, regardless of wifi network) anyway all the best!

    Egito-
Another year has past, and still no mobile AirPrint printer has been announced.
Even though it is not AirPrint-compatible, I think the HP470WBT may be the best mobile printer for use with the iPad or iPhone.  It is no longer listed as a current model, but may still be available from several sources.
One of the options for it is the 802.11 accessory.  With the Battery and 802.11 accessory options installed, the printer can be set up to host an Ad Hoc WiFi network.  An iPad or iPhone should then be able to connect to the printer's WiFi directly.
Unfortunately you will need an App to print to this printer.  There is the free HP ePrint Home & Biz, which has limitations but should get you printing.  Other paid Apps such as Print n Share or PrintCentral have more features, but can only be accessed from other Apps that have the "Open In" option.
This setup appears to be the only option short of using a bulky all-in-one AirPrint printer with a DC-to-AC inverter in your car.

  • Best mobile/handheld printer - for solid win store app connection

    Hi,
I am looking for opinions on what is the best mobile/handheld printer for printing simple receipts from my win store app.  I have my app connecting to a legacy handheld printer and it keeps dropping connections.  I would appreciate any thoughts
on best printers to connect to my c# app and any pointers I should be aware of.
I have been looking at the zebra ones...any opinions on them?
    Thanks
