Any network adapters with usb connection for mac?

Sorry if this is posted in the wrong forum/section. But I need a better network adapter than what comes with my macbook. I need an adapter with usb connection. Found a lot of them, but only for windows Any software that can take a windows driver and "merge" it to the airport software on the mac os x?

NMT and 5800XM USB connectivity (for Mac)

Hi everyone,
I just wanted anyone's ideas and feedback regarding a problem I'm having with my NMT and 5800XM on my Macbook (10.6.x).
I've updated my firmware on my phone V.40 and also NMT v1.4.2. The problem I'm having is that my computer does not recognize the phone when connected via USB and the PC Suite option is set on the phone. The phone registers it as connected, but the NMT on my computer does not detect the phone at all. Hence I've had to use Bluetooth to connect to NMT, but it's much slower.
Has any Mac users have had this problem? If so, does anyone have an idea on how to solve it? Or could this be some software issue with the phone, or NMT?

I have two USB hubs without a separate power supply. One is older (USB 1.1) and will drive an external hard drive, the newer hub (2.0) is more compact and will not support an external hard disk drive. I cannot find any listing of the power properties of the hubs themselves, or other hubs for sale, and so do not know which might work better. I suspect a non-powered hub is not ideal for an external hard disk drive.
My solution is to buy a small bluetooth mouse and forget about using a USB hub for a mouse and instead use the port mostly for a USB flash drive.

Help with usb connecter for logic

Help please...... I have a cord that inputs into my guitar and at the other end it's a usb, i got it so i could record in logic, i set everything up i have no problems input wise but i can't hear anything unless i disconnect the usb.... i know the problem is in logic not my laptop cause i can still hear itunes and whatever else through my headphones but i wanna be able to record with the usb and hear the metronome or drumtrack at the same time... is there anyway this is possible?

Set the USB guitar input as Master Clock, set the Builtin In/Out to resample.
Set the Aggregate Device (whatever you name it) as the audio device in Logic.
You will have more inputs and outputs in Logic and there's no telling how thaty will be unumbered, Logic's funny that way. Experiment.

My Mac Mini will charge - but not sync with - USB-connected devices (ipod, camera, memory card reader). I have tried unplugging the devices, restarting the computer, selectively unplugging and plugging in the devices, closing and opening the relevant applications (iTunes, iPhoto, etc). I have tried using different USB cables.
It's like all of a sudden the synching service stopped functioning or recognizing these devices for some reason. The other ports work just fine (monitor).
The only USB-connected external device that appears to be unaffected is the USB SuperDrive and it works on all the USB ports into which I plug it.
How do I fix this?

Open Console in Applications>Utilities & see if there are any clues or repeating messages when this happens or doesn't happen.

Turn off your printer.
Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan > Printers window and delete the printer from the list, then add it back.
Turn on your printer.
Any difference?

Everything that you sync to the iPad is done through iTunes or from downloading from the cloud if they are iTunes purchases or through iTunes Match, if subscribed.
It is also not possible to transfer music or certain other files though Bluetooth between other iPhones or Android devices. You can transfer between iOS devices, pictures through devices that are Airdrop capable.

Musicord Cherub MRD-41 Recorder: USB-Driver for Mac

I am searching for the USB-Driver for Musicord Cherub MRD-41 Recorder. Searching for it along the internet did not give any matching result.
Originally a CD containing the USB-Driver for Windows was included with the product. Since we now work with Apple-Products this does no longer work. Connecting the device to a Mac (as it is normal these days) and hoping, that it will work without any additional Software does not give any result.
On the Original-CD the manufacturer states, that the USB-Driver for Mac can be downloaded at www.apple.com but there nothing can be found anymore.
The recorder has been bought about 6 years ago (used under Windows then). Now we would like to use it again under Mac-systems (10.6 and 10.7).
Does anyone know, if, and where help can be found?

Need help on USB hub for mac air 13 inch (2 external hardisk and Iphone)

Hello everyone, I am a new macbook air user, and currently using 2 external hardisk of 1TB and 2TB. I am looking for usb hub that support both of my external hardisk, ethernet and iphone too. The problem is, limited usb hub for mac air and bad review on balkin product, any advice for me?
One more thing, I just moved from window to mac for the first time, and bought Western Digital 2TB external hardisk, the problem is, I can't save any video/audio file that I downloaded from internet in macbook to be transfer/move to this WD 2TB external hardisk, except for back up and time machine. It refuse to except any file that I try to move in to the external hardisk Can anyone help me? compactibility problem?

First, I have not found any of my hubs to have an issue with my MBA. Just make sure that if any peripherals you attached to the hub are adequately powered. Either by having the hub independently powered, or the devices having their own power supply.
The drive problem you have may be due to the file formatting. If this drive is formatted NTFS, then in many cases you can write to it using a network protocol, but OS X can't write to it if attached directly to the computer, e.g. USB, SATA, FireWire. You will neeed to either format the drive as a HFS+ drive, or use software that enables OS X to write directly to t a NTFS formatted drive, such as NTFS-3G. DISCLAIMER: As the information you provide for your circumstances is limited, this is but one suggestion amongst many, that explain your situation.

IPhone Issues with USB Connection and Bluetooth in GM cars

I recently purchased a 2009 Chevy Cobalt SS/TC and it has a USB connection for an iPod. Prior to the 2.1 updated the USB connection worked flawless as well did my handsfree/bluetooth. I had the Apple Genius Bar check my iPhone for any issues due to a corrupt update but everything turned up fine. When i connect to my car I receive an error message (iPod Did Not Authenticate. Check iPod Version). Also my bluetooth will sync but when you answer the phone using hands free you get no audio from the iPhone or speakers in the car. I used a friends iPod and everything worked fine but when I connect with a new iPod it displays the same error. I have contacted GM but they said talk to Apple.
If anyone can help please let me know.

Well you got me thinking about your question, and I guess I didn't get it the first time. Again, I own the same car - 09 Chevy Cobalt SS/TC, Black. A lot of fun! I plugged my iPhone into the radio USB connection and get the same error. The GM radio does not support the iPhone. It will not authenticate. The GM radios' firmware is looking for an iPod, not an iPhone. That is expected. As far as the iPhone and it's Bluetooth, again the iPhone's Bluetooth hands free works fine, except I cannot answer the iPhone during an incoming call without first unlocking the iPhone then pressing the mute button on the steering wheel. For what it's worth the iPhone will charge through the USB connection. I'm a little confused on what you are trying to connect. Bottom line, an iPod should always work, an iPhone, not at all. Lastly, I have purchased the GM Personal Audio Link (PAL) and hope to use it with my iPod so I can put the iPod in the glove compartment. Although I have heard a lot of negative comments and issues with it for being slow and sluggish. If so, I'll be sending it back and I'll stay with the USB connection. I'll let you know how that works.

External HD with USB Connection no longer recognized

I have read all the posts here and in most cases the problems are with an external HD that uses Firewire. Mine uses USB.
It has been working fine for a year and now it won't show up on the desktop. I went to Disk Utility and it was there. When I clicked verify, the external drive kicked into gear and the log said there was no problem. But I still can't see the drive or access any of the file I have on it. Any thoughts?

It has an external power source. Here is something really strange. When I open disk utility, it shows both the Hard Drive and the External Drive.
Now it has two entries for the main drive. On the first line it says 38.3 GB Maxtor, and underneath it says Macintosh HD, both lines have the same icon. For the external drive it says 111.8 GB external media on the first line, and on the second line is says simply external drive (which is what I named it). However the icons for the external drive are not same, the bottom entry looks like a little piece of paper with a fold in the upper right, while the top entry is a little orange box with a USB symbol.
This may not seem like a big deal, but to be its as if the computer knows its there but has no idea how to read it.
Also on disk utility it has 111.8 for the capacity but is blank where it should list available space and used space. It also says number of files is 0.

Is there any way to keep Microsoft RDC for Mac OSX from disconnecting when I start typing?

I am able to login to remote computers using Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection for Mac OS X (version 2.0.1). I can launch applications and open folders on the remote system without any problems. However, anytime I start typing it immediately disconnects me from the remote system.
I have resorted to using TSClientX, which works, but doesn't have all the great features that RDC for Mac OS X has.
My PowerBook is running 10.5.8. The remote systems are Windows 7 Ultimate and Windows Server 2008.
I have tried uninstalling the latest version of RDC for Mac and going back to several older versions, that did not resolve the issue.
I have tried restoring the keyboard shortcuts, that did not resolve the issue (though, I never made any changes to the configuration anyway).
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I've know a few people who have had trouble getting CoRD to work correctly with their PPC mac. Personally I've not had any problems. I know the later version seems to work better.
As MS RDC, in an ideal world it would be nice if that could be resolved. I have been playing about with that myself a few times now. At first I thought it was a firewall problem on my Mac. After many hours of fiddling with this, it still had the same problem. This problem is the same for my MacBook pro too.
Many user forums seem to be suggesting config change, but I find it odd how it works fine with Windows XP, but connecting to anything else has problem. Could it be a configuration problem in Windows I wonder? Should you come across a resolution, then let us know here on the Support Community.

Word processing with citations software for Mac?

What is your choice for word processign with citations software for Mac? I am a graduate student. So, being able to enter citations and compile a bibliography/works cited pages is a must.
In the past I have always used MS Word, as I was a WIndows user in the past. Pages doesn't seem to have the same capabilities as Word. I have read a little about using Endnote and Bookends with Pages.
What is your preference, and why?

Remotedesktop connection for mac

Hi there,
I frequently used RDV (Remote Desktop Connection for Mac) to access my old PC with Windows XP over my WLAN network and via cable over LAN from my mac book pro.
Now i bought a mac mini (latest) and installed Win7 with bootcamp. I need to access it remotely from my mac book pro so i tried Remote Desktop Connection. It works over my local WLAN network, BUT it dosn't work over LAN.
Which are the correct settings to use a LAN cable and the RDV that it works properly?
mac book pro with OSX ---- LAN cable ---- mac mini with win7 (bootcamp)

Yeah I'm aware of this fact. It seems to me that you don't have that much experience with networks.
The IP address I mentioned was the IPv4, I set manually to 10.0.0.1 /255 255 255 0 on one computer, and to 10.0.0.2 on the other. The sub net has to be the same that they are able to to talk to each other.
I also found the error, then when i send a ping, the computers were connected. So my other guess was, that it could be a firewall problem, and indeed it was. I allowed the remote desktop for everyone in the firewall settings and now MS RDC is able to connect over LAN to the mac mini.

Printing with PSE 8 for Mac

Hi,
hope some of you may give me some help.
Have tried to print with PSE 8 for Mac, but in the printing options there is none where i can choose the type of paper (ie: glossy, premium glossy....).
My printer is an Epson Stylus Photo 1400.
It works fine with iPhoto, here i can choose paper type. And prints come out fine.

My printer is a Canon so not entirely sure if this helps but when I print from PSE 8 I do not get to choose the media type until I have clicked on the print button in the PSE dialog box. I am then presented with the dialog box for my printer where I can set the media type amongs other attributes.
It is normal for the media type to be the job of the printer driver so perhaps it is the same for your printer.
