Any "NEW" iPod's???

Does anyone know if Apple plans to unveil something comprable to the Microsoft Zune? I know Apple likes to keep everything hush-hush, but the Zune now offers an FM tuner and wireless transfer between players. Does anyone have any info on this topic?

Yeah, you're right. I checked it out and you can send music files to friends that were purchased through Microsoft, but it's only a trial for you friend then they have to buy it or lose it. Not sure about personally owned CD's, but I did find that you can send pictures that you take from player to player (big deal). Thanks for the help. Still looking for more replies.

  • Are there any NEW iPod (classic) games online?

    HI,
For over a year, no new iPod games are coming in the iTunes store? Does anybody know why or how come?

My guess is that Apple is placing their focus on the Touch and the iPhone, thus more less leaving those with clickwheel iPods out in the cold when it comes to new content.
Another reason may be the fact that Apple apparently commissions developers for clickwheel games (and keeps very close watch during development) rather than releasing an SDK so that anybody can create clickwheel games.

  • Any new ipod touches coming within the next year or so?

I was just curious because i want to get the newest ipod, but i wont be buying one till summer and was curious if maybe there would be one in the near future within 2012/2013?
    Anyone heard rumors?

  • Hi, i want to know how the recycle process works do you have to have the earpods and itunes disk and do you get a new ipod of your choice or a new one that you traded. Is it completely free.

hi is the recycle process free?
DO YOU NEED TO HAVE THE EARPODS AND THE ITUNES DISK TO PART TAKE IN IT OR JUST THE IPOD?
DO YOU GET A NEW IPOD OF YOUR CHOICE EG.IF I HAVE A IPOD CLASSIC AND I WANT A IPOD TOUCH 5TH GENERATION OR DO I GET THE SAME IPOD CLASSIC BUT NEW.

Please don't write all in caps. It's consider to be "shouting", and is more difficult to read.
As to your question, an Apple Store will give you 10% off of the purchase price on any new iPod when you recycle an old one (the iPod shuffle not included). They do not need the earphones nor any of the disks or packaging.
    Regards.

  • Hurray I Have A New ipod!!:

I am going to ask a few dumb questions.
    How do I use it?
How do I put music on it?
How do I charge it...what device with USB ports can I safely plug it in?
And no it has not arrived yet lol.

    It has arrived. =]
    It won't sync. }=[
It is because I don't have 10.4.11 and because ipods aren't "designed" to run on older computers/OSs. Because of this, I will not be getting any new ipods because they will not even be compatible with 10.4.11.
As for 1st and 2nd generations, they are compatible but are not available in 16gb. But that is okay. I will look into those ipods. 3rd generation to 5th generation is compatible with OS 10.4.11 which I don't have any problem getting.
newer ipods will need USB 2.0 right???? some apple article on the apple website said that 1.1 would work.
will buying an emac be an acceptable solution????????????
    or perhaps g4 laptops?????
I am not ready to purchase apple's latest technology.
    Won't be for a while.
I could repair a PC (and put Windows on it since that is kinda what Apple, Inc. is focused on, and if they weren't...then they would make software for other OSs and not just Windows) only for synching purposes. I would not ever connect Windows to the internet.
But this is still a very nice ipod. I will be patiently waiting until I get an emac/power book g4/10.4.11 If I could find a CD version of 10.4.11 I guess I can put it on g3 imacs, but I think the USB 1.1 won't work. =[

  • When is the new iPod touch coming out?

When os the new iPod touch coming out?

There has been no announcement about any new ipod touch at all.

  • When will the new ipod touch 6th gen come out?

When is the ipod touch 6th gen. suppose to come out?

Apple has not announced any new iPod models, and until they do none of us here, who are all fellow users, will have any idea. In the past, any new models of the iPod touch were announced in the fall, but whether Apple will continue this pattern or indeed if they have plans for any future new iPod touch models at all is unknown. We'll just have to wait and see.

  • I just want to know when the new ipod touch 5th generation will come out

i just want to know when the new ipod touch 5th generation will come out

Apple has not announced any new iPod models. When they do, we'll all find out at the same time, I would guess, since the announcement will be prominent on every Apple-related web site and will probalby be posted in multiple threads in these forums.
Forum Tip: Since you're new here, you've probably not discovered the Search feature available on every Communities page, but next time, it might save you time (and everyone else from having to answer the same question multiple times) if you search a couple of ways for a topic, both in the relevant forums and in the Apple Knowledge Base before you post a question.

I have a new iPod Touch and one apple ID. I want to use My laptop aswell as my desktop computer for the one ipod, using the same apple ID. I have music on both computers and want to merge the two without losing any music or apps. How do I do this?
My iPod has music and apps from my apple ID that I downloaded to my iPod via iCloud and some apps that I got free from the store, straight onto my iPod, but my laptop has some music on it aswell, separate from my other library. I want to put the music from my laptop into my iTunes library which I want to use on both computers. Is it possible to do this?
    Thanks.

    - You can only sync an iPod to one iTunes library/computer. You can however, manually manage music and videos among different libraries.
Go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.
    - If y wnat to switch syncing libraries/computer see:
go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing>Sync your device manually and follow the instructions.

If all the synced media like music is in the iTunes library of the second computer it is very easy.

  • Recently got a new iPod 4th gen; I had previously backed up to iCloud and subscribed to iTunes Match, and then wound up syncing the new iPod to my MacBook Pro; all iCloud tunes were downloaded to Mac but won't all sync to the iPod - any suggestions?

Recently got a new iPod Touch 4th gen; I had previously backed up to iCloud and subscribed to iTunes Match, and then wound up syncing the new iPod to my MacBook Pro; all iCloud tunes were downloaded to Mac but won't all sync to the iPod after multiple attempts, despite all songs showing properly on the Mac and multiple syncs occurring after all songs were properly reflected on the Mac.  I updated iTunes Match from the iTunes Store menu as well pre-sync.
I should mention that I had previously had the library on a Dell (which is still running) and shared it on my home network.  While all iTunes purchases now show in the Dell, the Mac is the device I use for all syncs.
There appears to be no rhyme or reason to the iCloud physical sync failure - some songs were legacy, some were purchased via the PC, some on the old iPod.
The Mac shows all the songs correctly and none show iCloud status -all have been downloaded, but the downloaded songs that were previously showing up as iCloud based aren't syncing to the iPod.
Is there any way to force all music being seen by my iPod as iCloud to download to so I can listen to them offline?  Is there a way to force the sync from iTunes?

The "system" performed as designed. All devices syncing to one iCloud account are kept in common sync. The idea is that all such devices belong to one user. Different users should have different iCloud accounts.  Once your contacts were edited, all devices were updated as well and subsequent backups (from yours and her device) reflected the changed contacts (and any other data that may have been edited like calendars). Your first task is to change your daughter over to a new account before she makes other changes.
The only way I see for getting back contacts is to restore them from a time machine backup, assuming you also have a Mac included in the account which syncs the contacts. However, I'm not sure whether time machine includes contacts from iCloud along with those that are local, "on my Mac".
Otherwise the deleted contacts are gone.

  • Since updating itunes to version 10 my ipod classic will not sync any new music that I have added to itunes, can anyone help

I recently updated iTunes to version 10.3.1.55. Since then when I try to sync my IPod classic it says on the top of iTunes (where the barbers pole is) "Step 1of1 Determining Tracks to Sync". This stays like that for about 15 minutes before a message pops up saying "Itunes could not copy ""song title name here"" to the Ipod because an unknown error occurred (-50)". This message pos up for every song title that has been added to itunes since the itunes update. Therefore I am unable to sync any new music. This only happens when syncing the ipod as the iphone syncs with no problems.
Does any one have a solution?

There's a good guide here on how to roll back to 10.7 https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4559563?tstart=0

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try another cable
    - Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.
    - Make an appointment at the Genus Bar of an Apple store.
