With the new 3G iphone S which is faster, will there be a new ipod touch coming? Thinking of buying an ipod touch but not too sure if it is worth the wait for a newer model.

will there be a new ipod touch coming
It's almost certain there will be an new iPod touch coming. I doubt very much that they have stopped developing and discontinued the iPod touch with the existing models.
The question is "when?", and no-one outside Apple knows that.
Thinking of buying an ipod touch but not too sure if it is worth the wait for a newer model.
Does the current model do everything you want? Is it at a price you think reasonable? If so, buy it.
If not, wait for a model that does do what you want at a price you like.

  • Can I sync my Palm Destop to the new iPod Touch coming out this month?

I have my calendar and all my contacts on Palm Desktop and I want to start using my new iPod touch (preordered) when I receive it in place of my Palm. Can I transfer the data from the Palm Desktop to the iPod Touch? If so, can I continue to enter appointments on the Palm Desktop if necessary and sync with the new iPod Touch?

  • Brand new Ipod touch useless within 10 minutes of opening it.

So I have a brand new Ipod touch that I bought today and took home. I opened it connected it to itunes and everything was fine so I pressed the update button and something happened. I don't know what happened and itunes didn't recognise the touch any more. I unplugged ipod touch and every time I turn it on it shows the itunes and usb. Every time I plug it in it asks for apple mobile device (something mode). Itunes won't recognise it and ipod touch worthless.
I tried looking for the driver in common files and it just says it can't find it.
What the **** am I supposed to do.

    You can do several things.
    1) You can call Apple support and they will help you through it.
    2) You can go to the top of this screen, click "Support", then type "apple mobile device" or whatever your error is, into the search support bar. If you do this you will get several articles designed to help through several situations.
    3) You could look at the manual and see what it says.

After you have tried these options, you could post back as to what you have tried and what errors you are getting.

  • Can you transfer pictures from an old ipod touch to a new ipod touch without having the old ipod touch or the photos in Iphoto?

I somewhat recently got a new ipod touch after my screen cracked and the people at an Apple store said it would be cheaper to buy a new device completely.  I followed everything they said about backing up my old device and when I went to pick up the new one, the store took the old one away.
Up until just a few days ago I did not realize Iphoto could hold pictures from your ipods.  Mine never did it automatically, nor did anything ever seem to have the option to do.  It just so happened that two days ago I was browsing the web when I noticed a website gave instructions on how to transfer photos.  So I tried it and it worked for my new ipod while all the new photos.
But I was wondering if I could somehow get the old photos back from Itunes or my computer somewhere and transfer them into Iphoto or my new device.  I was hoping that maybe if I could "back up" my old stuff onto my new ipod for a few moments it would show I have the old photos and I could transfer them into Iphoto and then restore the ipod touch back to what I have it currently.
If it helps, I'm pretty sure the old ipod touch I had was a 3gen as my new one I noticed was skinnier.  As I said, I do not have the old touch anymore but I have the data in Devices on my Itunes if that makes a difference.  Both my data for my old one and new one are in the Devices section of Itunes.
    Thanks,
    Dragonhatchling

Restore the new iPod from the backup of the old iPod:
How to restore from a backup
To restore information from a backup, use one of the following methods after connecting your iOS device to the computer with which you normally sync:
Right-click (or Control-click) the device and choose Restore from Backup
If you have a new phone, you can connect to iTunes and it will prompt to restore from your backup

  • What to buy a new iPod touch, what about the bought apps?

I am thinking about changing my iPod touch first generation to a new one.
Can I transfer all my apps to the new item or do I have to buy them again?
    Who has experience here?

i've just done this. you just need to make sure you backup your old ipod touch first, then when you plug in your new ipod touch, rather than setting it up as new, restore it to the backup. as previously pointed out, as long as everything is in your itunes library on your computer it will just replace it all and your new ipod will look just like the old one.

  • Is the new ipod touch coming in an 8gb or 16 gb?

I really want the newest version of the ipod touch, but they don't have an 8 gb or a 16 gb.  Please tell me apple is planning on coming out with either of these, because I'd rather not spend $300 on 32 gb that I'm not going to use.

The 16GB 4th generation is only $50 less than the 32GB.  It is still available, by the way.  Even the 4th generation does not have anything smaller than 16GB.

  • I was just wondering if Siri will ever come out to the iPod touch maybe on the next update but I love apple like so much it is way better than any other company! But I was just wondering because Siri is so cool and I want to try her out

    I was just wondering because
I have always loved apple and then
I got my I pod touch and then
I found out about Siri I have
Always wanted to play with her
Ever sence I found out! So i
    Just wanted to ask you
    guys from apple

Apple itself does not respond to questions on the Apple Support Communities forums.  Responses come from other Mac users like yourself.  We don't know what Apple plans on doing but I am not sure the iPod Touch has the computing power to do Siri.

  • How do i move data from my 2nd generation to the new ipod touch coming out on oct 12?

I know how you can back up and restore from back up on the same generation. But since they have different software will it still work?

Back up manually, transfer your purchases, let iTunes set up the new device and restore from the the manual backup.

I am thinking about changing my iPod touch first generation to a new one.
Can I transfer all my apps to the new item or do I have to buy them again?

Dumped coffee on my 2nd gen Touch. Bought a 3rd gen. Plugged it in. iTunes asked me if I wanted to reload it with everything from my old Touch and it did.
Any Touch you sync to the account can be loaded with the purchased apps as well. I can load my 1st gen with the same apps (as long as they work on the 1st gen).
    Best of luck.

  • Apple sent me a new iPod touch to replace the one that stopped working. The new one has the same problem as the old one. Should I send it back?

I bought an iPod touch 4th genertion in August 2013. About 3 weeks ago, iTunes told me an update was available for my iPod so I clicked update. It then said it had detected an iPod in recovery mode and I had to restore my iPod. I tried to restore it when another pop up appeared saying an unkown error occured and it was unable to restore my iPod. I talked to someone on the online help page and they said I needed to talk to someone on the phone because it was too complicated to explain. The first person I spoke to on the phone could not identify my problem so she got her supervisor who said I needed to send it in for repair. I sent it in and yesterday I received a brand new iPod in the mail with a letter saying they could not fix my old iPod and this was a replacement. I plugged the new iPod into my computer to restore it and everything was fine. It said my software was not up to date so I clicked update and the exact same thing happened with the new ipod. It told me to restore my iPod and then said it was unable to be restored. They replacement arrived yesterday. Should I send it back?

What is the exact wording of the error message? It may be that there is a problem with your computer and is causing the problem, not a problem with the iPod.

  • How do I get a new iPod Touch to have the same music setup as my old one?

I have all the songs on my ipod touch in my itunes library, but there are also a lot of other songs I don't want, so I can't just sync the new ipod. I could drag them all individually but that would take hours.
I was thinking I could get an ipod-to-itunes music program, and then just do my whole ipod, then transfer all of those songs to my new ipod, then delete the songs I had imported to itunes. But that's expensive.

The post by Zevoneer will offer some suggestions on how to do this:
