Any Newer OS coming out soon?

Hello,
I have been running OS Leopard, and wanted to (obviously need to) upgrade my OS.  But before I spend the money (I'm a college student so every dollar counts), is there any new OS coming out soon (as in the next few months?).
Thanks,
Chelsey

with the new ipad coming out soon, why should I buy the ipad 2?

I can only echo what Pogo says about buying based on what it does today.
3 weeks ago I bought a Mac Mini. A new Mac Mini model has been rumoured to come out anywhere between the same week I made my purchase and the end of August. None's been released as yet.
I wanted one in the week of June that I bought mine so I bought it based on the fact that it did what I wanted and I couldn't imagine anything which could be added that I'd want - my MacBook Pro doesn't have Thunderbolt so the most likely addition isn't really going to be much use for me.
Basically you have to buy what you what based on what's out at the the time.
I can promise that within seconds of the iPad3 being released, the web will be full of rumours about the next one!

  • Any new product coming out so

Using Wikipedia I knew that X-Fi is the latest Sound Blaster; and probably the dominant out of all of them.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_Blaster
Looking at the release dates for each kind of Sound Card I'm seeing the last one released was October of 2006 entitled "Xtreme Audio"; same as "Xtreme Gamer"
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_Blaster_X-Fi
Now my present card is a Fataty card which means that I have a 2005 version; the year is now 2008 and I guess I was just thinking that its time for an upgrade, afterall Windows Vista is out and its always a headache to keep our 5. + speaker system in sync with the Control Panel.
An example is tonight, I was listening to a music clip and I wasnt hearing much noise at all coming out of my rear speakers during the music. So I tried all formats and even though the "test your sound here" works just fine the true music still wasnt working.
I ended up selecting "default" or basically restore all defaults and I heard the music this time around
But I guess what Im asking or seeking is that I have no control over the volume level of my rear speakers. Maybe current cards; as the one that was released in October of 2006 one does have control over each of the speaker types in which you can make it louder than the other; I'm not sure.
I know I have the latest drivers for my current card but I'm not seeing any accessible way to adjust it; the volume in the rear speakers are very low.
The speakers I also have are new as well; bought them last August when I rebuilt this PC (sound card was just a carryover)
So anyways as the subject says:
Are we gonna get an announcement soon on a new Sound Card coming from Creative Labs? Isnt it due time?
and if the answer is like "probably in 200" or something then answer me this? (please)
Does the newest cards, the ones that was released in October of 2006 "Xtreme Gamer" does it have control functions where one can control the volume of the rear or center or basically each channel and does it fully support vista (lol I know?2 in question hehe)
    Thanks for the input.

Well I figured out how to adjust the volume for each channel.
Open the Creative Console Launcher (if not at top of monitor; go to programs and creative and console launcher)
Hopefully?it should be in Entertainment mode; go to the Speaker Selection Icon
Once loaded you should see options such as: Speaker Selection Type; Bass Settings and Advanced Settings, Hit Advanced Settings
There you go, now you can adjust the volume for each channel in correspondence to your Speaker Selections; course I think the default is 79% each channel
However I'm still curious if there will be a newer Sound Card

  • Are there any new Macbook pro laptops coming out soon?

Are there any new Macbook pro laptops coming out soon? Because if there are i will wait to buy one.

There are always new MacBook Pro models coming out soon. However with current 2011 models you can install the faster, Rosetta program loving OS X Snow Leopard with a hack, instead of the new clitchy and unstable OS X Lion.
So you have a choice now, but for not much longer. If you wait another 6 -8 months, Lion will be stable and more programs will be compatible with it.
If this is your first Mac, I would wait. If you can do a simple hack with another Snow Leopard Mac, then you can opt to get one now and revert it to Snow Leopard and have a stable machine.
Else take your chances with Lion.

  • I just bought a 5g iPod touch and was wondering if there were any ihomes out or coming out soon that are compatible with this device? I know about the lightning adapters but read about their bad reviews and would like to avoid buying one for my ihome

I just bought a 5g iPod touch and was wondering if there were any ihomes out or coming out soon that are compatible with this device. I know there are adapters and cables you can purchase to use with your existing ihome but read the poor reviews on them and was scared away. I use my ihome very regularly and need this accessory to work with my new iPod. If you have any information on this, please help!

iHome already makes docks that support the Lightning connector:

What do you mean by soon?  Tomorrow?  Next week?  Valentine's Day?
We're not supposed to speculate here, but if you look at some of the tech blogs, some analysts will share their views on this topic.

  • When are the new iMacs coming out?

I want to buy a new iMac but I'm not sure if I should wait to get the next revision.  Are they coming out soon?

History has shown us this for the last several iMacs...
21.5" and 27" was introduced in October of 2009
The next revision was July 2010..
You should be able to see the pattern from above. If you look back further for different models you will find other similar patterns.
We never really know for sure until Apple releases the next version.

is the iphone 5 coming out soon ?

Earlier suggestions said that it wold come out late September/early October. But now that the date is getting closer more and more people are saying mid October. Now that it's already the end of the first week of September Mac Rumors stated that the mainly rumored date is October 21.
if you would like to keep up with iOS rumors and such you can always check out Mac Rumors, they are pretty helpful.

  • When is the new imac coming out?

When is the new imac coming out?

I heard that it is this Friday (21.5 ")  But who knows for sure.  I am really dying to see it and see if it is truly 75% less reflective.  The only reason I don't have a mac is because of the reflective/mirror screens. I just cannot work on them. I am praying that the claim of 75% reflective is very obvious.

When is the new imac coming out?

Per Apple's web site the 21.5" model is scheduled for release in November and the 27" in December. No other information is available and per the Terms of Use of this forum we cannot speculate on future products.

I don't have any external sound coming out, what do I do?

    Remove the headphone.
If you see red light in the headphone port, plug the headphone
in and out of the port 5 or 6 times to flip the microswitch inside.
Sound output may be stuck in the digital mode.
