Any news about Nforce3 firewall?

Has anyone heard anything new regarding accessing the built in firewall on this board?
Still wont work for me so i was just curious

Have installed the Nforce driver from the web and disabled WinXp forewall and my other firewallprog (FSecure).
Still when i try to acces the properties on the network card i get only blank pages

The BPM is still in a separate tool - since the people who use it are not developers and they probably don't want to use JDev for this high-level modeling.

Any news about Mountain Lion not closing open files / folders on smb server shares?

Hey Apple, anyone listening?
Are there any new about this issue, where Mac clients cannot move/edit/rename each others files and folders on a smb server share? We are a graphics work group in an otherwise Windows-centered enterprise. We have mac clients with OS X 10.5.8, 10.6.8, and recently 10.8.5. None of the older clients can work with files or folders created by the new machine, meaning that InDesign files will open read only, files and folders cannot be moved or renamed. This is absolutely critical in a flexible work environment, where any graphics designer must be able to jump into any other project on short notice.
As mentioned in other threads around the web, this seems to be a problem not with file permissions but with the finder not releasing/closing files and folders correctly when not actually in use. (a known issue is the fact, that i.e. Acrobat pdf must not be viewed in column views preview, if anyone else wants to overwrite that file, but this issue here goes much further). We urgently need a fix for that!
I'm really desparate about this topic, since the IT-department is already reluctant to offer mac support and to look into these problems; if there is no solution to this, we will be switched to windows workstations by the end of the year ... Apple, do you want that? We surely don't!

thanks for your answer. Does that mean, that there is a solution to this on the server side? Is this ACL stuff a matter of setting up the server correctly, rather than a problem with mountain lion's networking?

I am a new Apple convert. I have 2 current iMac (one for the home-office and one for the office-office) computers. I gave up my pocket PC due to conflicts in synching the machines. In April '08, I was going to buy an iPhone, but heard that Apple is going to release an updated unit in june '08. Consequently, I postponed my purchase. Is there any news about the pending update release?

All we know is a new iPhone will be released in 2008 but there is no date yet. Possibly Steve Jobs will give an update at next week's Keynote at the WWDC.
The June update you've heard about refers to Software update 2.0 which will be available for all iPhones some time this month.

everything I've found was the information, that Office2007 docs are supported by 10.2.0.5 db-patchset. But this patchset is still not available :-(

so after my post about the EOL of phones for 2011, i was wondering if there were any phones that were coming out that would be as good as the Droid X. i liked the X bc it was big enough for me (im 6'2 and pretty big) and i liked how the OS was set up for customization of widgets and stuff.

Any news about Mac Pro 1.1 running ML from Apple?

Are there any leaks from Apple about "Special KIT to make possible installation of Mountain Lion on Mac Pro 1.1". "What is in the box: New video card supported by ML. Disc with special firmware to upgrade to EFI64"?

     Unfortunately no. I really don't expect Apple to care about cutting off a very large portion of the hard core users. I also have one of those machines and it still runs circles around almost all of their newer machines, except for Mac Pros.
     The work around that people are using is not perfect and requires you to do everything right and still may not work. I could build my own hackintosh if I wanted to do work arounds and have a cheaper machine.
     My Mac Pro 1,1 has 10g RAM, 3 1tb HDs, 1 1.5tb HD, and a ATI Radeon 5770 I bought from Apple. So other then the EFI64 I way more complete the requirements.
     If Apple isn't willing to make and EFI64 they should do a special trade in program to make users more happy and not have to kill someone to get the money for another Mac Pro, which start at over $2500 and that's for a single CPU machine, 2 CPU is $3800. So much for not being all about money and Eco friendly.

Any news about MSI's socket 939 NF3-250 board?

I hope to see something like the socket 754 board, that had a special care from MSI. I'll grow real mad if MSI doesn't go with Nforce 3 250 for socket 939, relying on the fact that VIA's new chipset will have a PCI fix.

When the iPad3 is announced, it won't be done quietly - anyone interested will hear about it pretty quickly. :-)
The new models won't be announced in this forum (which is for tech support for existing products). There are a number of sites that follow Apple and instantly (i.e. tweeting withing minutes) post new announcements - 9to5mac and macrumors are two that you could follow.
