Extra channels on youview - any news on when ?

Is there any news on when the "extra channels" will be available on youview ?

This is copied and pasted from the email I was sent on 14th June:
"...we wanted to let you know that the Extra Channels on YouView will only be available, along with BT Sport from August.
We want your TV service to be up and running before then so we have given you TV packages that will work now and on 1 August we will swap them over."
Apparently, this means that I am being billed for the "Essentials" package for the time being, but will be transferred to the "Essentials Extra" package on 1st August when the extra channels will be made available.

Any news on when the DTM for the Mac will be officially launched by RIM. I'm using the leaked version, which works but has some bugs however I think its excellent. I suspect the Official Release will handle some of these bugs.

As a new Mac owner and a BlackBerry Storm FAN - I am looking forward to it!
I have had a Curve and now the Storm and I can't wait to learn my Mac that I recently purchased! So glad that RIM is working on this for MAC users! I use Desktop manager faithfully on my PC! It is going to be awesome!

There is never any news. Adobe never announces in advance when new releases are coming out.
So, you will just have to wait like the rest of us.

Any news on when Yosemite bugs will be fixed?

Has anyone heard when Apple will publish a general update to fix the numerous bugs in this new, almost unusable, operating system? In particular, Safari is running extremely slow, and I have lost connectivity between my Mac and my HP 7520 All in One printer. This operating system gives Vista a good reputation.

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them. In that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Back up all data before making any changes.
Have you restarted your router and your broadband device (if they're separate) since you first noticed the problem? If not, do that now and see whether there's any change.
If your browser is Safari, then from the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data
and confirm. If the Downloads button (with the icon of a downward-pointing arrow) is showing in the toolbar, click it and then click Clear in the box that appears. The download history will be removed. Any change?
If you're running OS X 10.9 or later, select the Advanced tab in the Preferences window and uncheck the box marked
Stop plug-ins to save power
Any change?
Quit and relaunch the browser. Any change?
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”

Are any other web browsers installed, and are they the same? What about other Internet applications, such as iTunes and the App Store?
If other browsers and Internet applications are also affected, follow these instructions and test. Any change?
If Parental Controls is active for any user, please turn it off and test. Any change?
If only Safari is affected, launch the Activity Monitor application and enter "web" (without the quotes) in the search box. If a process named "Safari Web Content" is shown in red or is using more than about 5% of a CPU, select it and force it to quit by clicking the X or Quit Process button in the toolbar of the window. There may be more than one such process. Any improvement?

As of Dec 08, is there any news on when iPhone/ATT issues will be resolved?

I've found about a billion posts bashing the iPhone 3G, but most of the content and articles are rather outdated. So, it's December 1st and I'm considering getting an iPhone later this month. The 2.1 came out a while back, and 2.2 has now been out for a while...
-Has there been any improvements with the 3G service?
-Has there been any improvements with the battery life and how many hours do you typically get out of 1 charge?
-Does it still have issues with dropping calls / txt messages?
-Are people still replacing SIM cards as a potential fix for issues or will a new SIM card that comes with it be no different than a replacement card?
I'd like to hear experiences good and bad, and if you're in the East Bay (Northern CA), tell me how the coverage has been for you, or even the Bay Area in general. I'm hoping to hear people who have purchased iPhones in the last month or so have had a better experience, but from what I've read so far I'm not sure if that's the case.

good luck... it's a "depends" kinda answer you'll receive from the masses. Personally, I went from R2.0 in July to R2.0.2 before experiencing any issues at all with my 3G iPhone... wondering why there were people out there with so many issues. I've since learned the past two upgrades. Simple answer... I'd wait!! Especially if you're not hooked yet by having used someone else's. I feel AT&T connectivity is poor right now trying to get a robust enough 3G network up and running to handle the volume of user's and "forget" their claim to having more "bar's". I live in a dark orange and blue coverage area and reception is inconsistent. If you want to read my specifics, read on....
My issues have been:
1. GPS accuracy... corrected in R2.1
2. Dropped call's from "day 1" more dropped call's on AT&T the first three days in my local area than I have 7-yr's traveling nationwide on business with Verizon (I believe AT&T holds 80% responsibility for this). Just had two today in a dark orange coverage area in my home
3. 3G is intermittent to say the least. I live 3-miles from the closest 3g tower and my svc will vary from No Svc to 5-bars (note: 3G connectivity depends on the number of users on a tower at the same time; therefore, you will watch your connectivity/signal strength vacillate in a matter or seconds or minutes with no consistency) When in strong 3G area's the iPhone will sing...
4. about a month ago they started having FETCH issues on the iPhone where it would not accurately go out and pull emails in from your ISP... my experience was up to 45-60 min after a FETCH setting of 15-min. and "audible" notifications of emails arriving wasn't happening and my volumes are always at max setting. This was seemingly resolved with R2.2 10-days ago and just today it started acting up to where I am no longer receiving audible alerts to emails coming... and FETCH seems to work only 75% of the time. Good news is that when it does act up, the emails seem to arrive earlier than the set FETCH intervals.
Biggest issues I have is lack of any real consistency of the above... I went to Verizon this past weekend to play with the new "Storm" and was really disappointed with its poor intuitiveness and poor ease of navigation. It may have great features and may work 100% of the time, but if I have to waste time navigating my way around it, I might as well keep my iPhone. I really do like my iPhone when it works, but the only way I would abandon it now is if I could exit my contract without penalties to AT&T and even then I know I would miss it. It reminds me of the early days and headaches of cable TV with all its glitches... If your not on AT&T and can hold off a little longer on the iPhone, I can almost guarantee with all the missing features requiring hardware changes and required bug fixes that APPLE will have to release a new generation iPhone... I even heard rumor that there is an iPhone in the works that has a slide keyboard coming out... not that I would be interested in that feature, adding bulk to it. but point being APPLE will cannibalize this current generation iPhone for another in the next 10-months.

Nobody who knows is allowed to say. The rest of us just have to guess.
New point releases come out approximately quarterly, so I'd expect to see 4.2 sometime around the end of this month (August).

Any news on when there will be a real fix for the Homefusion cantenna firmware fiasco?

Homefusion was great until February. since, almost unusable more often than not. now, no amount of rebooting or unplugging will connect. it's dead in the water. last time I talked to Verizon tech, they did something remote to "help" until the cantenna manufacturer fixed the software problem.
I don't understand at all why this thing doesn't work and can't be made to work. who thinks it OK to have to reboot as a routine everytime you want to go on the internet, much less watch it connect/disconnect all the while you're on. can't work on anything critical because it almost always disconnects before I'm through.
got to have some relief. paying for something I'm not getting.

I am so sorry to hear of the issues you are having with your HomeFusion connecting and disconnecting. Had the HomeFusion done any software updates around the time it started having issues in February? Has the appointment already been scheduled to have a tech come on to your house? If so, when?

Could we maybe get an update from RIM here? We have two days left in September but still nothing but rumors when it comes to when the desktop software will actually be released....Yes I know there is another thread asking the same question, but it seems that has gone off on other tangents...

Is there any news about when the software update for the extravert will be available?

Had the phone since November and can't send or receive media messages or go on the internet. Basically there doesn't seem to be enough memory, stripped the phone of all apps, pics,and music to free it up but still say's it full. Getting vague answers from Verizon and L.G of there will be new software soon. On the unlimited plan and can't use everything I'm paying for. Thanks

I tried to go to the publisher's web site, but they didn't have any information on it and it looks like the publisher (The Republic of Texas) has been sold.

I disagree, but only partly.
Here's why I diasagree :
What exactly is that core API? And what's so important about it? If it is the standard set of clases provided by the jre : No, you don't have to know most of them to write Java programs. You'd be surprised if you knew how few of the jre classes I know, and I've managed to write Tube Blazer.
I think you have to learn something else to write programs : Todays computers / operating systems all implement the same key concepts (variables, pointers, tasks, interfaces ...) and you find the very same concepts in almost every programming language. Once you've grasped them and how to use them in a given family of programming languages, you can start using one of the languages from that family. Looking up specific classes / commands is in theory no more challenging than looking up words for a foreign language you are basically able to speak. In theory, because with a natural language you can use a word from your own language as a reference or a word of similar meaning to find the foreign word. If finding the right commands for implementing something was that simple, noone would need programming books for specific parts of a programming language - the language documentation would explain it all in a form that was easily accessible.
Here is why I agree :
If you read a book and you don't understand the concepts it is based on (the Black Art book is a good example from this thread) you won't understand it, unless the book explains them to you. I also agree because when writing your first programs you make a lot of mistakes and you learn how to find mistakes. Without that ability trying to write large programs is frustrating and/or hopeless.

Any news on when the eLearning suite will be upgraded to include CS6 components?

I am keen to upgrade to a suite, and the elearning suite is exactly what I need - though not the 5.5 version. I have CS4 Design Suite now and also Captivate v 5.
Anyone else know when this is likely to get the upgrade? Hey - I would buy it now if I knew it would upgrade for free when they get all the components upgraded.

Seriously, do you think that there will be un upgrade to eLearning Suite 2.5? They don't even offer an academic discount for it anymore. I was on the line yesterday for quite some time talking to an Adobe sales representative, and I got the impression that Presenter 7.07 is the end of the line for Presenter. Maybe I misunderstood. Is there a new program from Adobe (or anyone) that fills the niche that Presenter does? I use it all the time.

I seriously doubt there ever will be an SDK. This isnt a computer game or something that you can customize. Verizon has enough problem getting the "offical" widgets to work properly, I dont think they will let anyone customize their own.

I Was wrongly told when it was sold to me that it already had it (the guy clearly didn't have a clue what he was talking about) but I let it slide when i got home and realised different, assuming it would come through failly soon - well this was several months back and still nothing, the software is out there and has been for some time now, so please EE get it sorted and oush it to your devices - I dont want to start messing with my device trying to do it myself! The roll out started at the end of June but only in Switzerland and Korea. Other countries will follow but expect a wait of a few months after the UK get it as EE will do their version. My Galaxy S4 updated by EE was about 2 months after the non-branded version arrived in the UK
