Any news or ETA on Java 1.7 support for Coherence 3.7?

We're currently in the process of preparing for a rather large upgrade to our existing cluster that is running on older JVMs and an older version of Coherence. One motivating factor is to get on a supported JVM / Coherence version instead of just an "enduring support" version.
As part of this effort, we are going to be doing a lot of regression testing of our applications. From what I understand, Java 1.6 will be EOL in November of 2012 - so it would seem prudent to consider upgrading to Java 1.7 at this same time (although upgrading JVMs in a rolling fashion isn't as big of a deal as upgrading to a major version of coherence since the cluster can have heterogeneous JVM versions but not heterogenous protocol versions)
Is there an ETA for when Coherence will be supported on Java 1.7?

It doesn't support 1.7?
We've run Coherence on 1.7 under various installations for some time with no issues. In fact we've seen significant performance gains.
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E24290_01/coh.371/e22837/gs_install.htm#CIHDECEA
It says "1.6 update 23 JVM or later", but it doesn't include 1.7? Also given that 7 is binary-compatible with 6 (in a most cases at least: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/compatibility-417013.html#incompatibilities), it didn't look like a big risk up front.
There were a few other reported incompatibilities with other software out there and Java 7 besides those listed in the compatibility list, so I would be a bit careful about it.
Or are you talking about compiling and having a Java 7 compiled coherence jar?I don't think you would see anything like that with 3.7. After all 3.7 still has to run on Java 6 and Java 6 would not be able to load Java 7 compiled class files.
Best regards,
Robert

  • Any news or comment on Java to H.264

Is this forum of the used Forum on JMF?
I would like to hear more news and comments on Java to H.264? Any codec developed by anyone to this new standard? Is Java fast enough to run H.264 codec on moderate computer, like PC with P3 800Mhz? Anyway, the more information, the better.

Do you know if somebody have already implemented java apis for H.264? I need to estract a video flow from MPEG-4 streaming coded with h.264.I'm also interested in purchasing that implementation.

  • New in Kodo 3.3.3: Improved support for Java 5 enums and generics?

    Hello,
Can anybody tell me if Kodo 3.3.3 can be deployed on WebLogic 8.1 sp4, jdk
1.4.1? The reason I ask this is because one of the features mentioned for
v3.3.3 is the support for Java 5 generics, which is available on WebLogic
9 -- but not in WebLogic 8.1 sp4. The documentation for Kodo 3.3.3 seems
to indicate that it can be deployed on WebLogic 8.1 -- can anyone tell me
    if this is accurate?
    Thanks for your help!

    Correction:
I think that my question may have been misunderstood. What I want to know
is if Kodo 3.3.3 can be deployed on WebLogic 8.1sp4 which is running JDK
1.4 or do I have to deploy on a newer version of WebLogic that is running
    Java 5?
    Thanks!

However, Kodo 3.4 RC 3 / 4.0 EA 2 both can work with WL 9 (which works
    with JDK 5).

  • New way generating of Java Proxy to support parallel processing

    Hi All!!
To the Java Proxy Server supports the processing of several executions in parallel way, a new way or generation has been released. On the Integration Directory, when you select an Inbound Message Interface and go to Java Proxy Generation, 2 .zip archives are generated, one for the execution in sequential way (XXX.ZIP) and other for the execution in parallel way (XXX_PARARELL.ZIP).
I have tried to generate the Java Proxy only with XXX_PARARELL.ZIP and I think is not possible, because no EJB Candidate is generated.
Somebody knows how I can generate the Java Proxy?
    Thanks and regards,

  • I cant access icloud, my email address has changed recently and I cant use any emails and passwords or set up a new id, cant get hold of apple support for help, very frustrated!

I can not access icloud, my email address changed a while ago none of my email addresses and passwords work, I have tried to get a new password but that dosent work!, tried to contact apple support, no luck there either! What can I do?

If you are trying to change the iCloud ID ("email address") you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted to turn off Find My iDevice, then sign back in with the ID you wish to use.  When you do this you may find that the password for your old ID isn't accepted.  If this should happen, and if your old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, you need to temporarily recreate your old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • What's new in Solaris 10 1/06?  Support for UltraSPARC IV+?

Where can I find out what is new in Solaris 10 1/06? I have seen this page, http://www.sun.com/software/solaris/whats_new.jsp which doesn't give much detail. And it looks like docs.sun.com has not been updated with any 10 1/06 documentation.
Also, does Solaris 10 1/06 support UltraSPARC IV+?
    Thanks.

You have tried reading through the "view all" categories I hope ? Because that really is what changed ;-)
Seriously, its not that spectacular as you can see. Some programs have been "enhanced" (bugfixed IMO) and the most drastic (new) features are IMO basicly using / adding Grub to the x86 branch and making the update manager part of the system.

  • Java and Oracle support for Solaris 10?

    Hi
Does anybody know when Oracle plans to support Solaris 10?
We plan to purchase a Opteron server and would like to use Oracle.
We also plan to use Sun Java AppServer Platform Edition. Any idea when that will support Solaris 10?
Am I correct in assuming that Solaris x86 will run fine on an Opteron system.
    thanks in advance

Oracle support Solaris 10 x86 but I doubt it's native 64 bits. The App. server is supported just go to Sun's site. The short answer is that Oracle and the App. server should both work but not necessarily in 64 bit mode.
As for the Opteron system, you should check the HCL.

  • Any new thoughts on local sync for calendars

Any new ideas on how to achieve local sync for iOS devices under Mavericks? I am still not comfortable with using iCloud and would prefer to manage my data on my own. I am aware of options like setting up your own local wifi server and am intrigued by the 'devicesync' app on the app store. Anything else out there or do you know of anyone working on a solution to this 'feature'? Thanks and happy holidays to all.
    Marc

Hi nbar, and thanks for your reply. Apologies in advance if it appears that I'm getting on my 'high horse', as the saying goes.
First off, I'm not a power user....I've got a very simple set up with a 4 year old MacBook Pro. When I do my work I do it on systems purpose-built for editing or graphics work. This gripe is strictly about how my personal devices function.
I have a couple of issues. The primary is ownership of my data. I simply do not trust Apple anymore. The ease with which services like Facebook or Google rewrite their licenseing agreements without, it seems, a thought to their end users, leads me to believe that given enough time Apple will begin mining any data that you or I store in iCloud. This is my data and Apple has no right to scan it or use it in any way whatsoever.
Secondly, I don't appreciate being pushed into a 'service' that I do not want. I don't need iCloud to do my business or to live my interconnected life. Besides, in this day and age, 5gb is pretty paltry in terms of storage; after that I get the privilege of paying a monthly fee for more space.
Third, committing to the cloud means that any interconnected device that I have will use up more bandwidth on my data plan. If I have three or four devices connected to the cloud then every time I download something from iTunes it uses up 3-4 times the original bandwidth as the file is spread across my devices.
Fourth, and most disappointing, Apple was not very candid about the loss of local sync when Mavericks was rolled out. True, in the developer or beta testing community this may have been perfectly clear but to us 'regular' end users there was no real warning. I find this most disheartening as I bought in to the Apple brand as the anti-corporate, anti-Microsoft, maverick (yes, I said Maverick ). This episode, for better of for worse, has soured me somewhat on the brand. And by the looks of it on-line and on these discussion groups, I'm not alone in this perception. This feels more like a blatant play for dollars and less about providing new feature sets to end users.
There are a lot of reasons why the cloud is good for some people and for certain types of activities. And I'm not naive enough to think that my data is perfectly safe and is not already floating out there somewhere. However, to the extent that I can, I simply want to be able to choose where my data goes and who I trust to handle it. Apple took away my cheese and I want it back!
Thanks again for the feedback. You've been very polite to read my rant. Have a great New Year.

  • Java Proxy Generation not working - Support for Parallel Processing

    Hi Everyone,
As per SAP Note 1230721 - Java Proxy Generation - Support for Parallel Processing, when we generate a java proxy from an interface we are supposed to get 2 archives (one for serial processing and another suffixed with "PARALLEL" for parallel processing of jaav proxies in JPR).
    https://websmp230.sap-ag.de/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/bc/bsp/spn/sapnotes/index2.htm?numm=1230721
We are on the correct patch level as per the Note, however when we generate java proxy from the IR for an outbound interface, it genrates only 1 zip archive (whose name we ourselves provide in the craete new archive section). This does not enable the parallel processsing of the messages in JPR.
Could you please help me in this issue, and guide as to how archives can be generated for parallel processing.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Rosie Sasidharan.

    Hi,
Thanks a lot for your reply, Prateek.
I have already checked SAP Note 1142580 - "Java Proxy is not processing messages in parallel" where they ask to modify the ejb-jar.xml. However, on performing the change in ejb-jar.xml and while building the EAR, I get the following error:
Error! The state of the source cache is INCONSISTENT for at least one of the request DCs. The build might produce incorrect results.
Then, on going through the SAP Note 1142580 again, I realised that the SAP Note 1230721 also should be looked onto which will be needed for generating the Java proxy from Message Interfaces in IR for parallel processing.
Kindly help me if any of you have worked on such a scenario.
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,
    Rosie Sasidharan.

  • Support for Java Server FAce in Workshop

    Dear All,
Does anyone have any idea if and when Workshop will include support for the Java
    Server Faces (JSF) framework?
    Thank you
    Abe

While I cannot share any specific product plans from any vendor, I would like to point out that all of the vendors of IDEs in the Java web application space are members of the JSR-127 expert group that is defining JavaServer Faces. Indeed, one of the primary design goals for the APIs is to ensure that development tools have sufficient information available to create high quality user interfaces at design time, so we're doing all we can to enable this kind of thing.
As JavaServer Faces matures, I think you will be very pleased with the quality and quantity of tools support for it.

  • Are there any sound cards with best driver support for Arch?

I was wondering if there are any sound cards that have the best driver support for ArchLinux? I currently own a Creative Labs X-FI Platinum Edition. The main reason I like the Platinum is that has an interface you can plug MIDI and Audio ports into. It seems to me, however, that Creative is the worst company to support Linux drivers. If anyone has any opinions, please feel free to comment. According to all my research, ALSA sound drivers are the most supportive for sound. Am I also correct in this assumption?

yeah, creative sucks. go with m-audio. they support linux unlike creative.
