Any number I enter in a cell becomes 4 digits

For example, entering 34 gives 0034. Format of the cell always becomes date, not decimal. And changing it doesn't work. It simply doesn't change format at all. Anyone feels the same problem or knows how to solve it? Thank you.

Here it is Wayne. Brand new file form Basic template. No editting or formatting. I enter new numbers from 1 to 6 digits. It becomes a year in date format. Only 7 digits number and more are recognized as decimals.
Changing format doesn't help. There's simply no change after pressing Number in Format drop-down. Nothing happens.

Okay then. If your seven numbers are in column B then the formula next to each number in column C would be
=IF(B=0,0,1700/COUNTIF(B,">0"))
This assumes all non-zero numbers are positive numbers. The sum will be 1700.

Empty cell until value entered in different cell

I am trying to create a formula that will leave a certain cell empty until the first cell is populated. The problem is that the cell that first needs to be populated will not have the same value in it.
Basically, I am creating a daily chart where I will have to populate numbers in column A, which will then populate all the other columns. Until the cells in column A are populated I want all the other cells empty. The cells in column A will be populated
with different numbers every day, which is my problem.
Additionally, if the cell is then populated, the other cells will have to do calculations. It should be something like "Once the cell in column A is populated with a number, column B will have to calculate A1-C1. Until that point column B will have
to stay empty.
I'd be grateful for any help.

Enter the following formula in B1:
=IF(A1="","",A1-C1)
This formula can be filled down.

When using a chart in Pages, the first zero is deleted in any number beginning with a zero (for example, 055). How do I stop this?

The leading zero in the value 55 is unnecessary, so Numbers eliminates it for cells formatted as Number or Automatic. A cell formatted as Text prior to making the entry will take whatever you type into it and keep it as entered. A cell formatted as Numeral System will display as many places as you tell it to, and will add zeros as necessary without your even having to type them in.

Change cell color if number is different from previous cell

Hello all and thank you in advance for any help that is provided.
I want to have the color of text in one cell change if the number entered into that cell is higher than the number entered in the previous cell.
Example: If cell A=18 and cell B=18 then the font color in both cells is the same.
If cell A=18 and cell B=20 then the color of the font in cell B should change to another color.
I have done my best to look through the posted questions to no avail so I apologize if this has already been answered.

Select B2 > Conditional format > Greater than > A2 > Edit > Text > Red, Green whatever. Done.
As usual the format in B2 can be dragged down by the little o bottom right to B3, B4 etc.

How to append 0 to any number to make it of specific length

Hi,
I have a requiement. There is a textfield it is of max length 3, if user enters any number like '1' or '5' then it should be automatically appended with '0' to make it of length 3 that is if user enter '3' then it should become '003'.

Ya we can use that infact right now I am using lpad only but is there any formatter class which we can set in our bean so that it will automatically format it in desired way.

The serial number you entered cannot be found in our records

Anyone know what would cause this. I have a genuine ipod but Apple cannot find it in their system.
Online lookup gives error message:
"The serial number you entered cannot be found in our records. Please verify the number and try again"
Any ideas?!. The serial number I am entering is correct. I have checked this both in the software and back of the ipod itself

I am having exactly the same problem, as well. US Costumer service is trying to help me via phone (1-800-275-2273). I am on hold now, 42 minutes deep, and glad I charged my phone before attempting the call.
I keep getting "escalated" to higher supervisors, but they have each been very pleasant, and sound earnest in their desire to help find a solution.
Update: While they couldn't find it in the main Apple Technical Support system, a Ms. Brandy (an "Agreement Admin"), was able to pull my serial number up on her independent Agreement area system. They are putting together a kit for me to use to participate in the iPod nano (1st generation) Replacement Program now. Not sure what that means. Will advise soon (I hope).
Solved at 57 minutes!
Apple has provided me a "special" number to present at my local UPS store, who will package and ship the unit to Apple at their expense. All they require me to do is take the iPod (and the unique identifier number) over to the UPS store. The final manager I spoke with, a Ms. Gem, was equally delightful (i.e. eager to please, very approachable, and earnestly apologetic about my time lost on hold while they sought a solution).
In the interest of your time, you might want to suggest (early in the conversation) that they ask an "Agreement Admin" to look up your serial numbers as well... and have a speakerphone and something productive (or fun) to do, on hand, to ease your time spent on hold.
Final note: The pleasant Ms. Gem stated that it takes an hour (or so) for UPS to get the info they need to accept my drop off, and Apple is looking at circa 6 weeks on the arrival of my replacement back on this end.
Excepting the time lost, full marks to Apple for a nice service experience. Grade: A

Adobe acrobat pro 9 keeps telling me "the serial number I entered is not valid"

I recently had my macbook pro logic board fail and had to purchase a new macbook pro (expensive reinvestment after only 3 years but that's another story).
Anyway, all of my cs4 upsell products loaded just fine, except adobe acrobat pro 9 keeps telling me "the serial number I entered is not valid." After contacting adobe thru chat several times, here is the info I got back: my serial number IS valid, I still can activate 3 more times (deactivation was not an issue in this case), the final answer was the cs1 server (my previous version before cs4) is no longer available which basically renders my version of acrobat unusable. Is that really the case? Now that I have a new computer I can't use that software any longer it was working fine on my old laptop? Why did all the other software load okay? Did I miss something or is buying another upgrade neccessary?
ps: using Macbook Pro with MacOS X.8.5

Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver are all working just fine. I haven't needed any other apps yet since the reinstall. Install actually worked fine too for Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.0 but when I try to open anything in it I get the Software Setup Screen and it wants me to enter the serial number for the product, when I do it says the serial number is invalid. I included a screen shot below with the serial number removed so you can see. In chatting with adobe, my rep said it is a valid number (obviously since it worked fine on my other apps), but the server for CS1 is no longer available and since I have an upsell from CS1 they cannot offer me support and to take my question to the forum board, so here I am.

My old PC crashed and died, and I am unable to deactivate the licence of Photoshop Elements 7.
I re-installed Photoshop Elements 7 via a trial download from Adobe website onto my new PC, Windows 8.1 single language.
My serial number is not accepted.

Customer help care is not helpful and keep ending my chat before I get a solution.

Thank you Benjamin MItchley. I reviewed the chat log and I can confirm that they are correct we do not provide installation support for Photoshop Elements 7 due to the age of the software title. Photoshop Elements 7 also does not support activation so there is no risk that you were unable to deactivate the software on your previous computer.
I am showing the serial number under your account was provided from an equipment manufacturer. It is possible there may have been a customized installer for that version. Have you contacted the computer manufacturer to obtain the installation files for the copy of Photoshop Elements 7 included with your computer?
Since you did not migrate/transfer over any files it is unlikely there is a software issue preventing the installation. You can try running the CC Cleaner Tool to ensure that no corrupt licensing files may be preventing the installation process. A cell either contains:
1) what you typed (or entered) OR
2) the result of a formula
to enter a formula, select a cell, then type the "=" sign then the formula, then enter
to enter a number oer text, then type the number(s) or text you want, then the enter key
the contents of a cell is the last thing you typed into that cell. If there was a formula, then selecting the cell and typing will result in losing the formula.
B3 will change as you modify the cell contents in B1 and B2

E7 restarting when any number is pressed

So, two days after the Symbian Anna update, my E7 has developed a new bug.
Whenever we go to the dialling screen, pressing ANY number on the onscreen number pad results in the phone restarting. In disbelief, I've let the phone restart, made sure no programs were open, and that the phone had finished starting up before going to 'call' and pressing numbers. ANY number, from 1 to 0, gives that restart.
I've tried a restoring to factory settings. No joy. I'm reluctant to do a complete hard reset as I have a fair amount of data on the phone.
I can live with my phone's keypad bluetooth on/off shortcut being buggy. I can live with many other bugs.
I CANNOT HAVE A PHONE THAT RESTARTS WHEN I TRY TO DIAL ANY NUMBER!!!

I had to hard reset and reïnstall everything from scratch, I was not pleased, to say the least. That was 13 Sept 2011. As of this week, Feb 2012, the problem with the phone has returned, and the phone is restarting whenever any number is pressed on the 'call' screen. Of all possible bugs and problems, this has to be the most annoying. I can get around it restarting by entering a number into memory and dialling it from there instead of dialing directly, but I really shouldn't have to. However, when during a call I need to press a number, e.g dialling an extension, the phone still restarts itself. This is the second hard reset in less than 6 months. Not good, Nokia!

Is the Emergency call screen in your Iphone supposed to be only to call 911??? because on my phone, when I use the emergency call screen, it can call any number I want.

I know exactly what you meant and what your question is, and the answer is no.
You can call any number from the emergency call selection.
And as I already provided, I want it this way. If I was in dire straights and I was able to place a call and I can only dial 911 and there is no answer at that particular time or lines are busy (which can occur), I want the ability to dial any number, not just 911, and the same for anyone that is with me if I'm unable to place a call and my iPhone is the only cell phone available.
If my iPhone was lost or stolen, I would call AT&T first to have my iPhone's SIM card disabled. Someone that finds or steals my iPhone makes a few calls in the interim before my iPhone's SIM card is disabled by AT&T, so what? I have a calling plan and a rollover minutes credit.

No Number will be generated when you save the Condition record in the VK11 transaction , but wiil get saved in the data base.
If you want to see you can go to VK12 or VK13 transaction enter condition type the select key combination then execute.

Loss of ability to dial any number via Skype to go

Is there any change in the works to restore the ability to call any number via Skype To Go, not just the 9 speed dial numbers?

I'm assuming the site is not accessible in any other browser such as Firefox.
To eliminate the possibility of their being an internal Network problem:
Set up a new location in your System Preferences>Network panel. Once established, select "network port configuration" from the drop down menu. There, move Airport to the top of the list and deselect the other items.
Then, go to the TCP panel and enter these codes in the DNS servers box:
(separate lines) - 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222
Select "apply".
Lastly, via the Finder, go to your Utilities folder and select "Terminal". Once the screen is open copy/paste lookupd -flushcache and press return. This clears out the DNS cache. Once done, quit Terminal.
Restart Safari and try the site.
