Any one know if PS CS5 will work with Lion?

The first thought I had upon seeing that Lion was going to be released next month was: WILL PHOTOSHOP WORK?
I had so much trouble with CS4 and Snow Leopard, I literally waited until just 2 weeks ago to upgrade to CS5.
I haven't been on mac all that long, so I'm wondering if you longer term mac users have found that there are problems with every mac OS update?

ps... I'm happy enough with OS X 10.6.7 and the latest CS5, but I can seldom stand the siren song of a new OS :-)

In fact there will be better searching - further narrowing of search results based on new search suggestions
crapp...just what I need after the nightmare "betterment" of 10.4 searching that spins out of control when I start typing a few letters (and doesn't give me back the machine until minutes later or a forced shutdown) and the WORST WORST WORST WORST most useless Spotlight interface ever -- I know because I am still using 10.4 on a 4-core Mac Pro and whomever "improved" 10.4 "spotlight" was a total idiot, imo
spotlight in 10.6 is functional and intituitive — i pray they don't bog 10.7 down with confusing "improvements" that don't work or complicate the search process...
search should work after you type the charaters and hit the go key

Hi - you can do what you want to do with AirPlay from your iPhone - but unfortunately it is not as easy as the people in the Apple store told you - your first problem is that you have a non Apple router - you cannot extend a non Apple router wirelessly with the Express - you can only join the network and connect an ethernet device to it - you can however connect via ethernet and have it create a wireless network of its' own - you can set this up from your iPhone or the XP - but this is a complicated setup and would involve many different discussion areas of this forum - therefore I would suggest that you use your 90 days of support and consult directly with Apple to do this - go to this link - http://www.apple.com/support/contact/

Ipad Air dead after installing IOS 8.0.2
I have just downloaded and installed this version of IOS on my Ipad Air and it is DEAD.
It won't start up.
When I connect my Ipad to my MacbookPro, Itunes tells me the following:
"iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes."
What now? restore? try to remove 8.0.2?

Currently, the camera connection kit/iPad http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4101 can't read SDXC cards formatted ExFAT, and although not specified in the above link, 32GB cards are the max size. Next week when iOS 7 is released, maybe that will change.

Anyone know what NAS will work with Lion? DocFred answered my previous post saying with my LG Nas that there no updates coming soon lol. So there is no way to map a network drive?

How to upgrade iDVD 6.0.4 so it will work with Lion?

I still have the original iLife software that came with my Macbook in '07. Running iDVD 6.0.4 and now it won't start up in Lion. What course of action do I have to get a version that will work with Lion? I tried searching the App Store but only found iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band available.

The boxed iLife 11 that is available at local Apple stores or online at the Apple store (not the App Store) should include iDVD and iWeb. The boxed offereing will have iDVD and iWeb listed in small, gray text on the box, the back I believe. You can't get the iLife 11 suite of apps from the new "App Store".
Click on the Store button at the top of this page and locate iLife 11 or click here: iLife '11. You'll see iWeb and iDVD listed at the bottom of what's included.

Pretty much any of the SATA 3.0 Gbps drives.
Western Digital Black and Blue and Hitachi 7K drives are all good choices.
If you try a SATA 6.0 Gbps drive, it will need to be jumped to limit to SATA 3.0 Gbps.

I'm told that you can just get a "camcorder cable" and use it. You just need to have a mini-jack on one end, and RCA jacks on the other end. Ask for a "camcorder output cable."
The trick is -- and this is important -- that the video will not be on the output cable that is labeled "video." If you get an official Apple iPod video connector cable, the cables will be labeled correctly, but using a generic "camcorder cable" means you will just have to try each of the three cables until you find the one that works with the video. Then the audio cables will be easy to figure out.

I have a new intel imac 20" and have ntl cable modem on a belkin wireless network. I have tryed geting my friend to use aim triton that dose not work I have tryed using msn for mac that dose not work I have tryed aol for mac that dose not work I called tec support and they said to open ports that still did not work I have tryed turning my firewall off still no joy.
I can hold a audio conversation through ichat if my friend uses trillion to log into a aim acount and he calls me I can't call him it just say your buddy declined but the invite never gets as far as him.

Does anyone know if firewave (surround sound) works with Lion?

Hi - am wanting to upgrade to Lion but need to know if my Griffin Firewave will still work. Hate to lose my sounds :-(
Set up is Imac, Firewave, Edifier 5.1 speakers

I installed it and it seems to work fine on the initial launch of the firewave software, but...
I had this problem in Snow Leopard, too. Once I install it, I can open it once - change my settings, etc. After that however it will never launch again. The speakers still work (klipsch 5.1 pro media) just fine, but I can't change any settings.
Uninstalling it as outlined on the firewave webpage, and then reinstalling is not a guarantee that I will ever be able to relaunch it, either (At least with Snow Leopard. I have yet to try with Lion, but I'm curious and will now).
Will follow up if I have more to add, but the short answer from me is that it does indeed work, "but."
I emailed griffin about 6 or so months ago and asked if there was any remote chance they would be upgrading the drivers for snow leopard or eventually Lion, even though the site makes it obvious they don't intend to. The response I recieved reinforced that notion quite clearly.

By the way I had two different responses from HP technical telling me that my HP 3970 scanner would not work in lion. But I am happily still using my scanner in Lion!

Anyone know if Illustrator CS5.5 works with four monitors without crashing?

I just recently replaced my two AMD HD5850 graphic cards with a single HD7970.
In my previous system configuration I had a total of four monitors (3 connected to one HD5850, and the fourth monitor to the secondary HD5850 card)
This setup worked great, and I had no issues with Illustrator or any other CS 5.0 applications.
Now when I have replaced my two HD5850 cards with a single HD7970 card, all four monitors are connected to the same card, and now I can't start Illustrator anymore without an app crash.
First I had no idea what was going on, and suspected an AMD Catalyst driver bug, but then I found some interesting information here in the forum.

It seems like Illustrator crash if you have your main monitor set to a number greater than 3, and for some reason, my main monitor has been fixed with number 4 of 4 (and there seems to be no way in h#ll it can be changed).
So now, each time I want to use Illustrator CS5.0, I have to first disable one of my monitors, which of course is very frustrating.
So now to my questions
1. Will Adobe ever fix this bug as an update for CS5 users?
2. Does CS5.5 still have this bug? If not I might go ahead and upgrade, but only if someone can confirm that it has been fixed in CS5.5

Probably not. With CS6 being something like 4 months away (presumably), you can do your own probability math as to how much interest Adobe may even have to fix this or how many resources they are spending at it. Anyway, not a priority item to be sure, given that there probably are only 0.05% of all AI users even using 4 screens and 2% may be using 3 screens....

I'm with you. I don't need the iPhone, but I'd love the iPod touch -- if it had a larger capacity drive. My current iPod has at least 20 gb of songs, iPhoto libraries, calendar, email, home movie videos.....same with my laptop, which, in turn, I sync to my Apple TV.......if iPhone and iPod are going to interface with our other Mac products, both will need much larger drives.
ALSO: Does the iPod Touch Contacts/Address Book resolve the "birthday" problem on the earlier iPods. When you important contact information from other databases (like filemaker pro, etc), Address Book imports/receives just about any type of data field -- except birthdays. I use AddressBook importer to convert my FilemakerPro files into a format that Address Book can important. All the fields map -- when the importing is done, Address Book simply skips birthday fields. Doesn't make sense. A birthday field is just a date field.....Is that the problem? -- david c in KC
