Hello, I'm new to spiceworks, I've been asked to create a plugin to help a friend out at work. He showed me some basics and what not, and I have most of the plugin figured out....
Except for one part, If you go into the settings you can add a custom attributes manually to tickets in the help desk.
I would like to make it so that my plugin creates one of it does not already exist, and if thats not possible, thats fine, I will just have it as part of setup to create this attribute,
The most important thing, is that I need to be able to edit and read attributes. How can I do this? Any and all help would be much appreciated!

Okay, I'm sure you've read my thrashing concerning Windows 8 and the slight pep I had towards Windows 8.1. Now we have Windows 10. I'll keep this brief. (Probably not.)The good:Total download and installation time? About 2.5 hours. Once installed, nothing was lost or unfamiliar – unlike Windows 8. Classic Shell was promptly uninstalled – by me.Installation and upgrading was near flawless. Kudos to the Dev team for that! (Only hiccup was a false message saying I was low on memory, which I'm sure an update will rectify posthaste since this is not the case.)Compatibility was not an issue. Everything works thus far.Start menu is back; however, at the last minute, Microsoft decided to hide/remove a needed Start menu tweaking tool which would enable the user to re-arrange the Start menu. (Removing options is bad. See my review of Windows 8.)...

    Whether or not machine records are in a collection doesn't matter.  When a machine record is deleted from the console it is essentially deleted from the database.  SCCM can't recover what was deleted the way you describe, but
    the machine records will come back after the machines execute their next heartbeat discovery.
    And yes, there are site maintenance tasks that run to remove inactive clients, but they are not enabled by default.

I have about 40 computers at my work and I find that I don't have my list with me all the time of who's IP is for who. If the software could include printers too, that would be great.     Basically your HDD configuration depends do you have fast disk or slow disk. HDD has to be fast, Johan has very good examples here:

    I'd like to push KB917607 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/917607) to all of our Win7 x64 workstations, but I don't see it available as a patch (to download) in Configuration
    Manager. What am I missing here? I've checked the classifications in the software update point component properties, and all are selected except for Feature Packs and Tools (I'm assuming this Windows Help patch isn't in either of those classifications.) Can
    this be delivered via SCCM, or does it have to be packaged and pushed to the clients? Thank you.

    I used google to search for the KB#.
    Some times you can import them using the WSUS admin console, but not this one...

    I appreciate that this isn't exactly what you've requested, but I can't give any better advice than the previous posters!
    If possible, I'd suggest that you set the advertisement to only apply when No user is logged in, and set the success return code as Hard Reboot. Also set the advertisement as Required.
    Providing no user is logged in, the computer will install and then reboot. As for the installation of the new version... On
    the Options tab you can set a condition based on a WMI query, registry setting, or installed product code.
    Your users actually log off? How about the user who powers the machine off, powers on the next day and about the time he gets logged in his machine is forcefully rebooted?
    I haven't looked at a 2007 site in a couple years now but I don't recall there being options that you are speaking of.

    Yes, it's OK to not add the Default security scope to an administrative user. You can add any custom security scope to an administrative user and it does
    not has to include the Default
    security scope.
    Just keep in mind that you keep at least an administrative user that contains the
    All and/or the Default security scope to not lock yourself out of the console.

  • Uninstalled software deployed by SCCM still remains in Installed Applications

    Hi experts
    I noticed when we manually uninstalled a software which was deployed via SCCM, in Software Center, under Installed Applications, the software is still listed as installed there. 
    I know the only way to make the software unlisted under Software Center is to remove the software deployment on the Primary Site Server, refresh the client policy and the software will disappear from the Software Center, but that means it will disappear for
    all the other computers which will need the software as well. I don't think this is a workable solution.
    Possible to share if the uninstalled software will automatically disappear from the Installed Application to Available Application? If yes, how long would it take, does it depend on the next cycle where the SCCM client get new policies from the Primary Site
    server?
    The reason why I am asking this is because it might confuse the end user.
    User: I thought you have uninstalled the software!
    IT: Yes we did
    User: Then why is it still listed under Installed Application in Software Center. It is bugging me! You didn't do your job.

    You could check AppEnforce.log and CIAgent.log to confirm the current state for this application after running the Application Deployment Eval Cycle.
    1. Find the ScopeID of the application in AppEnforce.log.
    2. According to the ScopeID, check the current state for this application.

    It's very easy with Time Machine (which is built into the OS).  Just turn on Time Machine in System Preferences, plug in an external hard drive, and you should be asked whether you want to use that drive for TM.  (Warning: this will erase the drive, so don't do this if there's data on the drive!)

    Wally is right but watch out for these status message, I have not check in CM12 yet but in CM07 just open and click "ok" to close the package/ advert/ etc. would create a status message saying it was modified.

    I am trying to create an admin role with 'update user' capability. But I want to restrict the user(with the admin role) to be able to update a user's attribute only for one resource, The user(with the admin role) should not be able to update the attributes of the other resources which a user have.
    Is there any way to create admin role only for one resource?
    I customized the tabbed user form to show only one resource attribute (deleting the missing fields and adding my tab for the resource) and then assigned this new User Form to the user(with the admin role) in security tab.
    It works fine. But the problem is that if any user(with the admin role) is also admin of some other resource then he/she will not be able to view the other resource attributes.

    The loop function always repeats the same region so of course the fade is also copied. So option+drag the original region to make a (non clone) copy, fade the first region and loop the second one (which you just copied).

            I'm using SAP PO 7.31 single stack. I've created a simple BPM in NWDS. I'm able to successfuly build the BPM which I created but when I "Deploy" it throws the below error.
    DC bpm_0/bl/caf/metadata does not contain any archives for deployment
    DC bpm_0/bl/ddic does not contain any archives for deployment
    DC bpm_0/bl/caf/dictionary does not contain any archives for deployment
    Not sure what/where to check and fix the issue. Can you please help me in fixing the issue?
